Touch

The blend of this is exquisite, you can tell that a lot of care was taken to create this. This is a scent that would be great for mothers and teachers. This smells like a big cozy hug in a bottle! This starts with a well blended, slightly synthetic rose note. There is an ever so subtle ting of plastic Barbie Doll head in this at the opening, which begins settling into the skin within the first 5 to 10 minutes. This moves into a classic rose scent, after the opening. The blend is sophisticated, I can't discern exact notes - but there is a slight spicy quality which would move this fragrance into the alluring category (rather than merely a soapy clean classic rose perfume - category). I wore Beautiful by EL for over 25 years, it was always one of my very favorite perfumes. Touch seems to be a rose version of Beautiful (at the beginning of this -- the first hour of wear). Touch is like a bridal bouquet of florals with a predominantly rose vibe. This is a non-linear, well crafted rose smell (not the typical classic soapy rose smell -- although I love that too, but in a different way). If I were blindfolded and couldn't look at a label or bottle for identification purposes, I would have guessed that this was an Estee Lauder fragrance. It just has that level of care taken in the way that this is made. This is probably why a lot of reviews have stated that this fragrance is "old money". This is a gorgeous vintage floral perfume. ------------- On me, after the initial spray - and as this settles into the skin more -- this becomes soft and whispers. It is so universal that it would cross all economic levels and would be universally loved. If you are looking for a safe fragrance to wear for social gatherings, church, lunches with friends/family, this would not offend anyone. I feel that this would be universally loved. Very sweet, kind, lovely. After an hour on my skin, this moves into a softer more linear, watered down form of Cabotine. You begin to smell more of the carnations, the rose notes are still there - but it begins to share the stage with carnation. However, this mood is most definitely completely different than Cabotine. Doing a side by side comparison with Touch and Cabotine -- they are in the same family, but there is about a 20% difference which makes each unique and not a dupe. Cabotine has more of a playful green, sporty vibe. Cabotine opens with a stronger base note, there is almost an earthy chord that grounds this - which is absent in Touch. On my skin, this smells like a slight tobacco earthy base note. Cabotine has a slightly sharper ZING note to it making it smell slightly less inhibited than Touch. This is what makes Cabotine seem more "sporty". Cabotine has a good length of wear. It lasts on my skin at least 6-8 hours. Touch has more of a pink, rose -- warm fuzzy vibe. It is a solid alto chord, without the stronger base sustaining tobacco notes of Cabotine - and without the sharp ZING. Cabotine has more of a sustaining strength, it lasts much longer on the skin. Touch is gorgeous but also short lived, it fades more quickly...(you'll definitely want to refresh this more often). ----------- The opening is similar to a rose version of Beautiful by Estee Lauder. But after the first hour, I would put this in a similar category to Prima by Avon (the Pink version) and Sarah Jessica Parker - Lovely...(only with carnations - similar to Cabotine). Towards the final lap - at hour 5-6, this definitely starts to smell more in line with what I remember Cabotine smelling like. This has lost the heavy rose smell, and morphs into the exact memory of what Cabotine smells like throughout its wear. (Cabotine is one of my favorite perfumes, it is upbeat - great for days outdoors, it is sporty, fresh, fun, upbeat.) ---------- This lasts 8 hours on the skin, but wears closer to the skin than some of the stronger 80's formulas.

Where to begin in describing why I love this perfume so very much? Well, I guess I should start by saying Elizabeth Arden's Red Door is one of my two signature scents. (The other one is Ralph Lauren's Safari) This scent reminds me so much of Red Door, but is much less expensive. It's a real steal! It is definitely a fragrance I plan to keep in my wardrobe at all times. I would describe it as a "mature" perfume, although I don't mean to lump it in with the "old lady perfumes". (Sorry for using that hated term...I just couldn't think of more appropriate words at the moment to convey what I mean.) I'm not smelling any "sweet" in this as I do with most fragrances that are newer and/or new to me. To have a beautiful perfume without the oft used sweetness is a real treat for me. I'm in my mid 40's now, and I guess for myself personally I don't want to smell like a teen or much younger lady. I don't mean to say sweet scents can only be worn by those more youthful, but just that I think I've "outgrown" a lot of them. In addition, I always seem to love fragrance's that are "red" - Red Door (as mentioned), Charlie Red, Giorgio Red, Avon's Little Red Dress, Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds and Rubies, etc. (The only exception in my experience so far is 273 Red, also by Fred Hayman, which I find horrific! So weird having a true love frag and a pure hate frag by the same perfumer!) Touch envelops me in my own little luxury comfort zone from the moment I spritz, and on my skin lasts for hours - which is very unusual for my skin, which typically eats perfumes. In my "Touch zone," it is easy to stop my mind from worrying about the troubles of the day for a little while, and take a moment to be grateful for all of the wonderful things and people in my life, which for me, is a much needed exercise. I try not to be a negative person, but especially since the nightmare of 2020 and the lockdown began, I find that I need more and more reasons to elevate my mind from so much negativity just to hold on to my own sanity. This treasure is so well blended I'm not sure how well I can pick out each note as I experience them, but can say without a doubt, and from my heart, that this perfume is a gift to me, and to the world! I know that sounds overly dramatic, but I'm just so grateful to have this beautiful fragrance in my life and for the little mini frag-cations I'm able to experience right where I am.

I wanted to try this one because I've read some good things about it at a few of the online stores. The first two notes I picked up on were the soapy aldehydes and rose. I was sort of surprised because I thought I would get plum or peach if I had to guess by the notes. I do pick up on the violet and rose a lot, and it smells like a very beautiful feminine rose soap. Overall.. I like this one.. it's very pleasant and ladylike. I've only had it on for an hour or two, and I may come back to review after I get around to the dry down of it. Editing to write that after a few days of wearing this perfume I do smell the peach and plum. The reason why I didn't smell it was because it's not a very strong smelling peachy plum scent.. it's nicely blended with the flowers. The dry down doesn't change much. I get the sandalwood and vanilla.. but it's not strong. It kind of wimps out at the end of the perfume. I do get musk from begining to end though. I'm very happy to add this one to my small collection. :)

a friend of mine used to wear this all the time. I don't know if she wore to much or if it just didn't suit her, but I disliked it intensely and there are not many perfumes that I don't like. One day, because of the price and great reviews, I bought it blind off line. Even if I didn't like it I could give it to my friend and it didn't cost very much. Well imagine my surprise when I put it on and wore it a little while. It is delightful. A lot of orange blossom and carnation, and orchids, all some of my favorite notes and the dry down is lovely too. A rich and sophisticated floral with a hint of sandalwood. A little does go a long way and it is very affordable. I am so glad I gave this perfume a chance. Some have said it smells a lot like EA Red Door. I used to love Red Door but a relative told me it smelled terrible on me and I haven't wore it since. This may become my new Red Door.

Light. Airy. Feminine. Long lasting. This perfume really agrees with my skin. I love it and wear it a lot. I will always have a bottle of this. Several people at work have mentioned to me that it's their favorite thing that I wear. Wonderful. I think this is a happy smell. People seem drawn to this. I got a big 3.4 oz bottle of this on Ebay for $15 and it will last me forever. Update: I wore this today and wondered why I even bother with anything else. Everyone seems to like this happy smell on me. It doesn't cost much, easy to find on Ebay, and lasts a long time. What else could you want?
