8th Wonder

8th wonder is a spectacular fragrance. It's rich, warm, decadent and spicy. It's boozy, fruity and delicious. 8th wonder is a whole ass mood you spray on your body, and I've gotta say, I am absolutely here for it. Longevity, at least on my skin, we're pushing over 24 hours. I'm not exaggerating this. I sprayed on yesterday at 8am, it's now 11:48am the next day as of this posting, and it's still kicking, giving off wafts of warm, spicy, resinous deliciousness. I'm a huge fan, and will never go without this beautiful fragrance in my humble collection. The perfumer behind this fragrance is Dominique Ropion, and he did some absolute magic with this fragrance! I wore it yesterday in 80+ degree weather, and it smelled heavenly. This is something that can be worn year round, as long as you adjust your sprays accordingly. I sprayed once on my chest, once on each side of my neck, and on the back of my neck. This was, and still is giving me a beautiful scent bubble, even 27 hours after spraying. *Longevity- Eternal powerhouse. *Sillage- Easily radiates within 6ft, and carried even further in the air. *Scent profile- 10/10 for me personally. This is absolutely my kind of fragrance. *This is not unisex- This is a very overtly masculine fragrance, and not for the faint of heart. *Heavy middle eastern vibes, and can be worn all year round, just ease up the sprays in higher heat. Noses are sensitive in the US(Will probably perform and be best suited for colder weather, but is absolutely nuclear no matter what the weather brings your way.) *This is an addictive scent profile that women love, and men will want to smell like. *This WILL get you attention. This WILL garner you compliments. I couldn't recommend this fragrance anymore than I do, definitely give it a try! Get a decant and see how it works for you!

I can’t believe I almost canceled this—this is easily my new signature scent. From the first spray, it just kept getting better and better. The standout for me is the date note—this is the first fragrance where I’ve truly been able to recognize and enjoy it. It blends beautifully with a jammy strawberry sweetness and smooth ambery resins, creating something that feels rich but still bright and wearable. What really surprised me is how balanced it is. It has that Middle Eastern depth and warmth, but without any smoky oud or heaviness. Instead, it comes across almost creamy and slightly chocolatey, in a really unique, addictive way. It reminds me a bit of Lattafa Khamrah with that date-forward sweetness, but this feels like a brighter, more versatile “sister” fragrance that you can wear anytime. This is not just a winter scent to me at all—I’d wear this in the summer, on a date, casually, or even dressed up. It’s incredibly versatile and just smells amazing in every setting. Honestly, this is everything I’ve been searching for: jammy fruits, warm resins, sweetness without smoke. Even if my wife doesn’t end up loving it, I’m wearing this regardless—because this one just clicked for me in a way nothing else has.

Blind bought this from Burlington about 3 months ago and when I first tried it, I initially thought it was a fail. It had a very synthetic, overly sweet opening into a very heavy almost chokingly resinous dry down. It felt way heavier than I personally liked and left it on the shelf. Fast forward to today and it has felt like it aged like a fine wine after macerating. It opens with a very sweet candied apple note. As it slowly dries into a rich, dark date. I can get hints of a boozy type vibe but on my skin it's not as prominent as the notes would suggest. As it fully dries and sits on skin, it goes into a more intense Arab style. Hitting you with myrrh that's amplified by the benzoin, and sytrax giving it a very resinous and almost sticky feeling but not in a bad way. I can see how someone could be turned off by this. It definitely isn't a big crowd pleaser but it is an amazing scent for the price. I got mine for about $30 USD and smells like something that is 3 or even 4 times the price. I would warn, that it may be sweeter than what most people would want for this kind of DNA. I would warn against blind buying like I did (couldn't help myself), and to definitely try it on skin.

Bought it today and applied in the car, nice bottle, and sprayed a few short bursts, three on the neck and one each to the wrists. First impression, nuclear projection. One or two two sprays to the neck would have been sufficient. Smells nice, defintely leans masculine. Top and middle notes provide the fruity jam (like a strawberry or cherry?) plus boozy liquor cognac vibe which I like, then some resins and leather I'm guessing with the amber emerge. I head out to several more retail stores, and while shopping about six women go out of their way to walk pass me while I'm in departments that hardly get female traffic. No one said anything to me, but I know the look and smiles. The reactions were similar to what I got when I wore Escada Magnetism for Men back in the day (I wish that one would come back). This is a keeper for sure. I'm into the 9th hour of wearing and it's still noticeable with I'm guessing a 2-3 foot bubble around me. I can only imagine it will get better after a couple of weeks on the shelf. Definitely getting another bottle.

At first, I didn’t appreciate 8th Wonder that much and I thought it was a bit too intense, dark and Middle Eastern for my liking but after several tests and some patience, I now can’t get enough of this fragrance. It is the true definition of Arabian Nights in a bottle - it’s boozy, warming, spicy, it has that caramelized sweet apple and the dates in this scent are delicious, beautiful and ultra realistic. It is also long lasting, lasts on my skin for over 24 hours, and the sillage is very strong as well. This juice is 100% worth your money, especially for the price and I would even state that 8th Wonder smells like a niche fragrance, it has that quality to it. When I smell this fragrance, I think of an ancient palace located at an oasis, I think of Arrakis from Dune and the precious spice melange, and I think of magical Arabian fairytales. 8th wonder is a true oriental dream!

I just got this today and these are my first impressions. It's very similar to Cocoa Morado in the first minutes but after that it goes its own way and IT'S NOT REDUNDANT to own both of them. Cocoa Morado goes deep, spicy, very earthy with date/plum jam while this goes in a dark winter cookie or waffers with spices kind of way, similar to Rayhaan Terra's (Amouage Outlands clone) thing. Don't get me wrong, this does not smell like Terra, it's just how the vibe feels. The guy below me said that it has the same DNA of Amouage and he's 100% right. I was unsure whether to buy this or not given how people voted for the similarity with Cocoa Morado but I got tired of thinking and said fuck it, and I'm glad I did. Can't talk about performance at this point because I've just popped its cherry.

Nose Note #931 The low rating is completely unjustified. Many people like Oud Maracuja, Oud Cadenza, Oud Stallion. This is from the same family, closer to Oud Maracuja, but instead of maracuja you get thick sweet strawberry and a bit spicy jam. Amazing, I love it. Unisex slightly leaning masculine. Super strong, great sillage. One of the best value for money from French Avenue just like Azzure Oud is. This doesn't even have poopy oud!! It does give off the impression of something like Oud Cadenza too, but instead of oud you have dates and myrrh. This is just awesome! In total this smells like super sugary strawberry jam. 9/10, my jam

8th Wonder is a beautiful smooth and creamy fragrance. I smelled almost everything in the French Avenue store in Dubai multiple times, and I could not leave without 8th Wonder & Safari Breeze( In the air it’s amazing 🤩)

This one is so good. Sweet boozy amber. Great projection, lasts long on clothes. This doesn’t smell anything like Carnal Desire.... Not whatsoever. This is smooth and addictive. Great blind buy.

One of the best French Avenue perfumes I’ve ever tried. Definitely recommend it and definitely will buy it again. It has same DNA of Amouge

Amouage inspired DNA. Definitely a hit and blind buy success. Dates and leather. Very strong and long lasting profile.

Reminds me of Cocoa morado + Ashy Tobacco with less spices.

This fragrance is a great value for the money at an extrait de parfum concentration. The scent profile is great. It's sweet, boozy, and, ambery. The opening is candy apple then develops into a boozy date cake reminiscent of British Sticky Toffee Pudding. The dry down is resinous and amplified by the Amber Xtreme molecule. I noticed on my skin to my nose the drydown was wildly similar to the drydown of Silky Woods Elixir from Goldfield & Banks.

This is spicy ambery perfume. If you like spice and amber in your perfume then you would like this. For me this is ok, a nice perfume to layer with. I’m letting it macerate before making further conclusions on it

Very average and typical of Middle Eastern dupes. The notes listed feel non existent in some cases (Boozy notes and candy apple? Where?) You're left with Amber, Dates and Patchouli that's it. Pass.

This fragrance projects a heavy Smokey essence that is not safe for blind buy nor is it a mass appealer. 8th wonder retains the firewood smoke and amber notes, getting sweeter as it drys down. Very unique and very mature scent.

This is probably my least favorite French Avenue yet. You read the notes and none of it’s there, and tobacco is not listed. All this smells like to me is chewing tobacco spit on a dirty boot. Not blind buy safe whatsoever.

This sure ain’t no date-night fragrance... unless date night gets a little rough. This fragrance is a dirty beast. So maybe it’s One hell if a night fragrance instead . I still wouldn’t recommend it if you’re trying to get laid... unless you already know their taste. I just don’t see this being a hyped mass crowd-pleaser. The funny thing is, it’s a sweet dirty beast. 🥰 It comes across as a pile of sweet pipe tobacco more than anything. I still get flashes of that polarizing DNA you find in Amouage Royal Tobacco—but this one is rougher, rowdier, and a whole lot more blue-collar. Like Royal Tobacco traded the tuxedo for flannel, grabbed a Jack and Coke, went camping, built a fire, and got drunk with a few buddies... or maybe with its next victim . Longevity was much shorter than I expected, but that could just be nose fatigue. I’ve only worn it once, so I’ll reserve final judgment. Either way, it lasted good enough , it’s beyond worth the $30 I paid for it. I plan on grilling and smoking brisket while wearing this over the weekend and cutting down some trees. This is perfect for stuff like that. To my nose, it’s too rough to be playful. It isn’t trying to charm you—it just shows up in beast mode, smelling like a dirty beast, and doesn’t apologize for it This is the stuff my cologne journeys are all about right here. I’ll take 2 bottles at this price.

This one is really good! Kinda puts me in the mindset of Lattafa’s Ajwaa, but that one has a prominent Licorice & incense note, but no Booze. I would layer them together for the full effect. While this one it good on its own, I could easily see this being added as a layering option to many fragrances.
