Pinnace

Bought a bottle of Pinnace for those who ALREADY TRIED Pacific Chill. Last month I visited the LV Store in Miami just wanted to try Imagination and to see if the hype holds true. Employees were kind enough to let me spend 30 minutes in the store to try out their entire collection for both men & women and also gave me ton of samples. However to my surprise, Imagination is good but I'd never spend $325 on it, I'd buy Afternoon Swim or California Dream instead. What stood out to me of all the colognes is the Pacific Chill. IT SMELLS UNIQUE, HEAVENLY AND THE ONLY LV I'D SPEND EVEN $500 FOR. I have tried more than 500 colognes in my life and never have I smelled anything as good as PC as far as fresh scents go. I also sprayed a ton on my body and went ahead with my day. Heard about Pinnace and thought it's a better idea to try this out first before committing to the expensive bottle. Short Review: 80% similar to PC. Solid 8/10 if you like the PC scent profile and are looking for a clone that does the job. Smells super close, definitely go for it. Actual Review: Pinnace captures the PC scent profile pretty well. To novice, it will give you an idea of what PC smells like. It's like the Abibas to the Adidas, the Mike to Nike. (Does the job but can never be the actual). However it lacks the quality and magic of what makes PC, PC. It's just more intense and heavenly. Now mind you, this is without maceration and first week of testing. Now I have left the bottle to macerate and will come back probably 2 months later. Anyways, FW Pinnace starts off fresh and sweet. It smells like apricots and blackcurrants mixed with cheap mint and citrus. Don't be fooled, it smells way better than about 80% of other fresh scents in the market. There's a lot going on and definitely is more unique than the basics light blue, Versace eau fraiche, Polo Blue, etc and much better cologne compared the price points. It's at par with Ysl Y Edp quality performance and little bit similar scent profile & quality. So if you like such sweet & fresh scents, 100% won't be disappointed. Surely people will ask you what you are wearing it is that unique. With something like this, you are not following the other fishes in the pond instead making your own way. Slowly but steadily, you are getting there too, and before they you what hit them, you will be ahead of them. It's one of those colognes which you smell for the first time and be like woah, what is that. UNIQUE, FRESH, SWEET, AMAZING. If It improves even 10% after maceration (which I know it will), I'd not think twice before buying a second bottle, as of now, for me, it's already the best $45 I've spent. Scent: 8.5/10 Performance: 9/10 (8-9 hours on skin) Overall: 8.75/10

I blind bought this because it was so hyped up by an influencer that I follow - No regrets! This perfume opens up very citrusy, a bit too lemony when I first sprayed it on before I let it mature. Lemon is not even an official note on it but it's what I got on the first spray. I let the bottle mature for a bit before I officially took it out for a wear this summer. Citrus top - then you are enveloped in a minty and cooling scent bubble that is actually very refreshing. Definitely good for the summer months as it has that cooling effect you get from freshies. It develops into a bit of soapy shower scent (atleast that's how I smell it) as it dries down. When I first got this fragrance, I was not expecting it to perform or lasts, always thought that if I can get 3-4 hours I would be okay with it but surprisingly, I got complimented on this fragrance 7 hours into wearing it. This fragrance performs with a decent projection and sillage. A good 5-7 hours of performance, strong prejection on first 2-3 hours. 7-8 hours on clothes. Well worth the price you pay for it. Aside from the bottle looking like a gravy boat, This is a fragrance with the well-deserved hype around it when it came out. Some reviewers say that it is a clone of Pacific Chill - I cannot comment on that since I never smelled pacific chill - but even then, just try this one out for what it is: A fresh cooling scent for summer~

This was my summer 25 staple and I just went through my second bottle a couple of days ago. Don’t care about how good a dupe of PC it is, really don’t. This is an airy refreshing and joyful scent. Citrusy slightly sweet sunny top, followed by a subtle mint accord (love this part) and drying down to the most gorgeous fresh skinlike musk. The citruses are not punchy at all, it’s a like a gentle breeze of fresh air. Probably unisex but to me it’s more feminine leaning. Got some similar profiles: Bateig Azul Anfar - the mint note is not pronounced at all, too sweet from the apricot I guess. Great performance though. Island Dreams Khadlaj - citrus punch the first couple of minutes, not unpleasant but definitely sharper and not that airy and round. Goes more into the ambers. I do enjoy Pinnace a lot even though it’s not the best performer. It’s not gone within 2 hours as some of the designers but I don’t get over 6 hours either. Wonderful scent trail in hot summer!

A light and breezy take on Pacific Chill. Up close there’s a strong lemon note that replaces Pacific Chill’s iconic apricot. not dealbreaking but definitely noticeable. Like most PC dupes, the performance is where this one falls short. It completely disappears after 5 hours, and even right after spraying, the sillage is intimate at best. No punch, no scent bubble, just a soft skin scent that stays closely attached to you. If you work in a medical setting or simply don’t want to be noticed but still want to smell like PC, this is great for you. You'll still smell like it, just on a whisper rather than a shout. As it dries down, it turns into a light, cottonlike musk. Much airier than Pacific Chill, which stays mostly linear until it fully vanishes. Great scent profile. Poor projection. Poor longevity. If all you want is to smell like Pacific Chill without turning heads, this is for you. But if you want compliments or a scent that lasts, look elsewhere.

When I first tried Pacific Chill in LV shop, I felt that its special, unique type of luxury tropical fragrance but I didn't love it that much since I don't like the sweetness from it. The sweetness is a bit too much for me, Afternoon Swim and L'immensite scent profile is much more catchy for me at first. After I got this dupe, I gave it a try, I started to love this scent profile more n more n had become my favourite hot season citrus fragrance ♥️, since this dupe version actually slightly tune down the sweetness that original Pacific Chill has, this smells even more fresher, brighter and that musky drydown is amazing. Letting it sat after 4 months, the performance now, became alot better especially longevity, last ard 8 hours from my experience. The only weak spot is the projection. Even tho this scent profile aren't that punchy but this has the scent bubble which I could always detect myself when I wear it. 😍
