Ravine Ginger

#1765 in my “Tour de Fragrance” This arrived today. I promised it to a girlfriend. I should have kept my mouth shut. Dead on the money clone of Goldfield & Banks “Ingenious Ginger” I paid $54 for this. The Goldfield & Banks runs $148. Identical quality. Nice summer scent, but you could wear it year round, round the clock, any setting. Good longevity, arm’s length silage. Very attractive. I shared it with six people, all fragrance aficionados. Four “Wows”, one “Damn!” One “OMFG!” One individual liked it slightly better than Kilian “Blue Moon Ginger Dash” he owns. All six preferred it to Issey Miyake “Sel D”Issey” even though all liked the Miyake also. For myself I slightly prefer the minty Kilian, but I’d wear “Ravine Ginger” all day every day. Unless for some inexplicable reason the girlfriend dislikes it and gives it back I am definitely ordering a bottle for myself tomorrow. But she loved the Goldfield & banks sprayette I gave her last week, so more likely I’ll win the Lotto than she doesn’t like this stuff. : ( Good Luck and Good Hunting!

This and Hawas Thunder are 2 of my favourite pickups of 2026. Both feature a spicy ginger accord and both are very easy to wear. I tried a decant before buying Ravine Ginger and couldn't stop wearing it. The scent accords listed are accurate and the reviews left by others are too. Rough ginger with sharp citrus when first applied, and a gentle vanilla that pushes through immediately after. It's not as appreciated by wife as MA Immortel (more woods), MA Philos Messenger (sweeter), or RB Theoreme (more grapefruit), but it is more pleasing for ME to wear. I love the ginger note and wish it stuck around more. I can still smell this at the end of the work day and at is base I get vanilla and vetiver. For starting out my day, this is incredible.

Haven’t tried the OG. I did not trust the opening on this one simply cause it smelled a bit flat and dusty (?). Almost like something dirty. But wow. The drydown has me obsessed... it’s sweet ginger for the first hour and then it transforms into a gorgeous smooth sandalwood on my skin. Absolute perfection, genderless, affordable, nice bottle. And lasts so long! I used it before bed, on a showered skin without moisturiser and I woke up after solid 9 hours of sleep still smelling it. I’ll upgrade my decant soon I fear 🫶🏻!

Beautiful freshness with a bit of ginger spice, compared to Ingenious Ginger it's overall less fizzy. Dries down to a strong creamy vanilla with a bit of ginger in the background; overall it's not as ethereal as Ingenious Ginger, not sure how to describe it, but you can't complain for it being roughly 4x cheaper ($50 AUD for me vs $280 AUD for Ingenious Ginger)

Loved the scent dna but very weak longevity on skin (it lasts longer on clothes) and sillage is very intimate. Very close to skin and virtually no trail scent, no projection. Wish it was stronger (not asking for beast mode but at least moderate performance) as I really liked the blend.
