Safari Breeze

I believe for a number of people this fragrance did an immense disservice to itself by not labeling it's notes accurately. I see so many people seemingly confused by what they are smelling because this is a guava heavy fragrance and it's kinda a crime to not list that even if people know it's a clone or inspired by a fragrance with a big guava note. The grapefruit hits in a way that makes it very similar to a tropical drink specifically reminiscent to me of the discontinued peach passion fruit refresher from dunkin, peach sweetness with the zesty tropical tartness of passion fruit. This has that intense tropical sweetness that guava has but the grapefruit gives it this twang that keeps it distinctly tropical but also adds this astringency, zesty, almost greenness that reminds me of how passion fruit or mango can sometimes hit. Don't want to judge people too harshly but I just think when you aren't super familiar with those fruits and you are unguided maybe you would be confused about what you are smelling. This is tropical in a somewhat more niche way than you would expect. Even the coconut is like a heavy disservice there's no heavy coconut vibe at all. It's like they just phoned it in and said yeah just put some tropical bullshit people will get it. But they don't. This isn't some pina colada or a fruit bowl with a few pineapple chunks this is basically a variety of non standard tropical fruits if you're unfamiliar with guava, passion fruit, and mango this will surprise you because this just slaps you in the face unapologetically hard with actual tropical fruits. The push this gives of that unique tropical edge is peak to me and I'm only slightly insulted to see people typing dumb shit cuz they've never tried like a guava cheese pastry or something.

Reading through the other reviews, Safari Breeze seems to be one of those fragrances that walks into the room and immediately starts a fight. Some people love it. Some people look at it like it just ruined dinner. Me? I enjoy it. Quite a bit, actually. There’s grapefruit in here. Black currant. Mint. Coconut. On paper, that sounds like somebody raided the tropical section of a hotel minibar and made questionable decisions. But somehow, it works. Together, those notes pull off something strange and unexpected: this almost phantom guava accord that isn’t officially listed, but absolutely feels like it’s there. You can sit with it and pick it apart if you want. Grapefruit here. Mint there. A little creamy coconut slipping through the back door. But at a quick sniff? Guava. Bright, juicy, slightly green, a little mischievous. And the layering? Phenomenal. This thing plays well with others. I don’t really get the “synthetic mess” complaint. Is the citrus photorealistic, freshly sliced, farmer’s-market grapefruit? No. Let’s not get stupid. But it doesn’t smell cheap or offensive to me either. It’s more like a stylized cocktail version of fruit: vivid, sweet, sharp, a little artificial in the way a neon sign over a beach bar is artificial. Not photo realistic. Still enjoyable, and you’ll always want more of it. Polarizing? Absolutely. But sometimes the weird bottle on the table is the one you keep reaching for.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I strongly get Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée vibes here, and it all comes down to that vetiver. I’m not a big fan of vetiver at all, so that already sets the tone for me. I’ve seen so many people hype this fragrance, but no one really mentioned how dominant that vetiver is. From the opening to the drydown, it’s pretty much all I smell, and not much else comes through. It didn’t live up to my expectations. That said, they’re not lying about the performance. This thing is a beast. And to its credit, it smells high quality all the way through, no harsh synthetic notes. In fact, it really reminds me of Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée, which I actually like a lot. But my expectations were completely different. I thought it would lean more in a Vulcan Feu direction, with more coconut and citrus. Instead, it goes a totally different way. And I’m not even getting any mint here. Upd: I let it macerate for a bit and it's just wonderful, now it's my favourite go to fragrance that I use whenever I don't know what to pick, on par with art of Arabia 1,but I pick this one when I want to be a little more playful and better mood

Am i the only one who gets a blueberry muffin vibe from this? To me the black currant/grapefruit comes off as that in the opening. To me it feels like a dried-fruits type of smell which is honestly very refreshing to have in my collection as this is definitely one of the more unique scents ive smelt in a while. This is one of those fragrances that can be worn in the summer nights or days. It suits both occasions. I picked this up at burlington for 34.99$ 100% worth it as this is definitely one of my favorites for the summer as of now! I absolutely love this frag! Blind bought it and not a single regret. It's fresh, citrusy, tropical and woody at the base. Reminds me of Art of Universe but less sweet and less projecting, but it doesn't mean this is a weak performer. Totally worth your money if you like fresh fragrances for warm and hot weather! Also, don't pay attention to negative reviews on a 4+ star fragrance, especially when they share what they think the fragrance smells like, not an objective review. 4+ stars ratings for fragrances mean is a very good option to get. People just like to hate.

I'm a huge fan of Zanzibar and have had a bottle in my collection off and on over the past year. The problem is it's not cheap at £195 for 75ml and given the tropical nature of the scent and living in Scotland, it doesn't make much sense to hold onto such a scent for the few days of the year I'll feel like wearing it. This solves that problem. For me there's no denying the closeness to Zanzibar. It definitely has the pacific-chill-plus-guava vibe that I love about it. Amazing pick up for the price and will be a staple this summer for me.

Incredible Summer scent, a clone of Memoirs Of A Perfume Collector Tales From Zanzibar. It's very tart and fruity. The opening is juicy grapefruit and black currant accompanied by creamy coconut. The heart is spearmint and jasmine which takes the initial fruitiness and cools it off (I get it...breeze). The base is ambery mossy vetiver, which manages to keep the profile from getting overly sweet. This is definitely a vacation fragrance. It reminds me of Vulcan Feu if Vulcan Feu were grapefruit and black currant centric; it's a hit.

Man i picked this up with a quickness once I tried it. I feel like I love it but rarely use it? I really enjoy the smell but im not much of a fruity type fragrance. Im not sure why guava ain't listed, when clearly it hits you from the get go. Makes me think of a tropical hotel pool bar prepping some fruity cocktails. To me I feel it doesn't push off the skin that much after the first half hour, but I can certainly keep smelling it for a long time but more close to the skin.

Fruity and tropical, slightly tart and creamy on the dry down (likely cause of the coconut which isn’t “sun screeny” at all), I get a lot of passionfruit (bright citrusy) and also Guava (sweet, floral, and tart). I really enjoy this scent, is super fresh & addicting. Slightly musky and earthy in the dry down, which does make it lean more masculine.

I usually stay far away from fruity scents. But this one is different. It’s an absolute guava bomb, but it’s not gooey or overly sweet. It has this green, crisp, tropical sharp edge that cuts right through the air. Perfectly balanced, ultra-modern, and surprisingly clean. If you want a tropical vibe but hate the usual sweet mush, this is it. 9/10

Blind bought this based on YouTube reviews because I needed a unique summer smell. Feels like I hit the jackpot. The opening is great but the base notes are awesome as well. The mint jasmine and guava create a a very unique smell some say reminds them of the magical plant. 9/10 for me. I wish it projected a little bit more.

Literally one of my favorite and most well-made fragrances out of a large collection. French Avenue hit it out of the park with this one. Super fruity and ripe, not too sweet. If you like fruity frags as a man but don't want to smell too soft and feminine, this one is it.

French Avenue's Safari Breeze is a bright uplifting tropical fragrance. A great value for an extrait de parfum. The longevity is superb and the smell transports you to an island get away. One of the best that French Avenue has to offer.

Their no compression to baccarat here , this is a great fruity scent with soft notes of a fresh amber , compared to tales of Zanzibar its 85% their and for the price u can’t go wrong it’s high quality for what you pay

Smells like Guava tropicana or real fruit juice, Here guava is the main note along with some citrus under tome. Its good for the summer in hot day,with a pleasant descent scent bubble.

Masterpiece. Vacation in a bottle. Will be in heavy rotation when the spring and summer comes. It’s absolutely incredible. Smashing success of a blind buy.

Hello good people of Fragrantica, I received my Safari Breeze today and gave it two sprays on my arm about an hour ago. The scent is still projecting quite strongly, so performance seems promising but of course, it’s still early to make a final call. First impressions? It’s very close to Vulcan Feu, but with a key difference. Vulcan Feu opens with a smoky mango, not quite the smell of freshly cut fruit, more of a darker, slightly charred mango vibe. Safari Breeze, on the other hand, smells exactly like freshly cut, juicy mango, which I personally prefer. Interestingly, Safari Breeze actually comes across closer to God of Fire to my nose which is ironic, considering Vulcan Feu was the one often compared to God of Fire. I haven’t smelled Tales from Zanzibar, so unfortunately I can’t compare the two. Do I like Safari Breeze? Yes, absolutely. If you enjoy fruity fragrances, especially mango-dominant scents, this is a winner. However, if you already own Vulcan Feu, I’d say this purchase may feel redundant. There’s no strong logical reason to own both unless you’re a collector like me (but also i wouldn't have bought it if i knew it smelled this close to Vulcan Feu). I’ll update this post later today or tomorrow with more detailed thoughts on longevity and overall performance. Overall, this feels like an easy year-round fragrance, leaning unisex and more toward daytime wear. Stay tuned for the full performance update. Update-1: It has amazingly lasted around 11 hours with 2 sprays. Very unexpectedly strong longevity. A must buy perfume if you like juicy mango smell with enormous longevity.

Blind Buy Diaries # 19. I rarely blind buy purported clones, for the usual reasons; influencers are all over your feed claiming the clones as "95% identical" and "performance powerhouses", which majorly, is as far as from the truth as possible. However, made an exception for Safari Breeze, as I don't see myself shelling out the big bucks for Tales from Zanzibar anytime in my life. Cannot judge as to any comparisons as I haven't smelt that either. Now coming back to Safari Breeze, in the listed notes, you do smell grapefruit at the start, blackberry & coconut, with mint and jasmine providing the fresh vibe to balance the fruity element. The drydown consists of the usual mix of oakmoss, vetiver and amber. However a guava note, although not listed, can be smelt incredibly throughout the duration of the scent. Safari breeze is what the name suggest, a tropical, fresh, fruity fragrance. Kudos to French Avenue for raising their game, as this scent does not smell synthetic at all. A successful blind buy all in all All seasonal scent? Good for summer and spring. Unisex? Yes Blind buy worthy? Inspite of the unlisted guava note, it is quite prominent, so better off sampling first Performance? Longevity, around 7 to 8 hours on skin, with decent projection and sillage.

Safari Breeze by French Avenue is a fresh, clean composition built around citrus, grapefruit, vetiver, and subtle floral notes. I was genuinely surprised by how well-made this fragrance is, it gives off a vibe comparable to Hermès perfumes in terms of quality, with a natural character and no synthetic edge. The scent evokes the feeling of a summer vacation on a tropical beach ... bright, airy, and uplifting. Interestingly, it avoids the typical coconut note often found in this style of summer fragrance. Although coconut is listed as one of the ingredients, I couldn’t detect it at all, which is a big plus for me, as I’m not a fan of coconut in fragrances. If you enjoy classic summer citrus scents like Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue or the Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo line and looking for something that smells more natural, refined, and higher in quality with very reasonable price, this is definitely worth considering. Simple, yet not cheap smelling. Overall rating: 8/10

Nose Note #963 I guess I expected something else. This is very very fruity and smells pretty natural, maybe even photorealistic. The very sweet juicy grapefruit accord dominates the composition. The overall facet is tropical. My wife said it smells like a cheap Avon or Oriflame perfume... I wouldn't say this smells cheap. Back to the scent - it's creamy and a bit sour. Very fresh and again, tropical. I guess I'm not a fan of tropical perfumes except for Tom Ford Soleil Blanc suntan lotion type of scents. I can't detect any coconut or mint. Maybe a tiny bit of vetiver. I really could not predict how this would smell. I was looking forward to this, but in the end I didn't like it much. It just doesn't connect with me. Unisex leaning feminine. Performance is just great for a freshie! Good sillage 7.3/10, as a thing on its own it's a great offering, no doubt. But I don't like it much

So many people have different takes on this fragrance it can be very misleading depending on who you ask. I do get grape fruit, but it’s a grapefruit in a bowl of other fruits. Not as earthy as some may portray. But it is very nice. Smooth realistic fruit. Will be nice for summer. The vetiver does add that earthy edge in a clean way. But the fruits are the star of the show. The coconut is more of a coconut water, very subtle. Well blended. Full wear test update: the grape fruit is very tart giving it a zing to the nose. The vetiver is smooth and mixes in nicely with the grapefruit. The other fruit notes aside from grapefruit are gone after the first hour or so. It is true to the niche of this DNA. I don’t think it’s mass appealing and blind buy safe. Older crowd will appreciate this.

TBH, I didn't like the opening. Idk why, but on me, it smelled like overripe fruits. Thankfully, that goes away, and what I was left with was sort of similar to TFZ(I only got a sample of it.) I don't do fruity, tropical, or "beachy" fragrances, ever. But, if I have to, this is one of the rare ones I can wear. It's balanced and grown up. Yes, it's fruity, but not overly so, like 99% of the fragrances in the same genre, and the juxtaposition of the fruity notes with the green and woody notes really balances it out. This is not a 1:1 clone. You wish! TFZ is more complex, more natural-smelling. The hint of fruits, the hint of vanilla, the green, earthy, woody notes in the base, and it's actually VERY long lasting.

Received a sample of this to try before potentially buying. I get a mango type smell, very tropical, quite a dense fresh fragrance too. It smells really nice, but the question is do I want to smell like this? It's really nice, but I just can't see me wanting to smell like this. I got a 3ml sample from Notino, so I will sample it again, but for now, it's nice, just not for me.. Update: tried it again, it was extremely warm (especially for the UK) sat outside in the sun, and wow... This caught mine and my wife's attention, the longer it sat on my skin the better it was getting. Bottle ordered..(currently £30 on Notino)

This is an excellent fragrance that I feel in love with since I tested it. It’s a 100% summer vibe fragrance with a hint of citrus. It reminds me a bit of some LV symphony clones, but it’s not as headache-inducing as those. French Avenue worked very well in transforming that great fruit smell into a passion fruit that I love even more. For me, this fragrance is much more wearable and less headache-inducing. Do I like it? Yes Would I wear it? Yes Does it last? 5 hour Did it blow me away? Yes Safe blind? Yes Worth the price? Yes Is it unique? Yes Overall rating: 8/10

When I first sprayed my decant I got really excited, it was a bright, fresh, happy, invigorating and fun scent, a yellow fruit cocktail, with just a hint of BR540 essence (as I later saw others have mentioned!!), but within minutes it turned so weird on my skin, like a body odor you tried to cover up with a fruity scent or a slight foot smell. I'm bummed, but I'll definitely try it again on a warmer day... 😶

The opening is super strong with grapefruit but as it drys down the pungent grapefruit smell dies down and blends nicely (still a strong grapefruit fragrance don't give me wrong) I would say the best way to describe this scent would be to a drink you would get at a bar at like next to pool or beach. this fragrance is not a daily and is a pretty unique scent so I wouldn't say this is 100% blind buy safe

I'm surprised that this mix of notes brings out a true, intense guava scent with some sweetness. You really gotta like Guava to enjoy it. It's very fruity (I usually don't like very fruity scents - it's borderline) and lasts a long time. Don't overspray it. It will be too cloying. I do enjoy it. On my skin it doesn't change much.

The most prominent note by far isn't even listed. This is a guava bomb. Front and center for the first 4 hours. Very sweet and unisex. Above average projection. I really like guava, but I feel this fragrance needs something to balance out the sweetness. Could be great for layering. Will try in the future. 7.6/10

Smells very strongly of grapefruit to myself; others picked up more of a pineapple note. Either way, it smells great and isn't too sweet.

Finally tried this and it's very good... for the first 1hr...! The first hour is beautiful, a tropical fruit bowl with a very small airy / sea breeze effect. I love this part so much. Very Porthole like. As it fades, i detect just beneath this tropical aura, a slight BR540 vibe, like some on trend modern molecule which is common in quite some perfumes nowadays. Or maybe it's some kind of rhubarb sour note? It's sour and molecular. Similar to... 21 by Jovoy or Isola blu by Roja... I miss the coconut though, at least in this first test. It's very pungent, it smells like celery. And i really don't like it. But overall is a nice one, i wouldn't say a hit but defo something you want to try out, and probably full bottle worthy considering its price. Looking fwd to try it in the heat! Hopefully that annoying sour pungent smell disappears... if not, i will pass.

I don't get the hype for this one. It smells so wrong, i could not find myself to wear this. It's like a mix of everything and not in a good way. You can smell the coconut but i think the vetiver in it just don't mix well. For me it is a no. Sample it before buying because this is not mass appealing, not one person who smelled this said is good.

well i dont really like it, it has a strong strong guava note is pretty long lasting and to me it smells like if i mixed 70% lv Symphony and 30% pacific chill tgether, doesnt smell horrible, can defo go to the gym with it, but wouldnt wear it anywhere else.

Opening full burst of fruity and sweetness from blackcurrant which is too sweet for me, i don't mind if wore by woman, this is good if you like fruity sweet scent. Performance are moderate. Glad just trying 2 ml on market Rating 5/10

Straight up Guava bomb. Reminds me only of something like a vape juice. No other notes come through just straight super sweet Guava. If you’re into that go for it. Even at the price point I’m not a fan.

This is strong and has good staying power. Reminds me of Zanzibar but this has an off note to my nose. I tried to wear it on vacation and each time the off-note was what I smelled over and over. Kind of a body odor type note. I'll let it sit, but this is not a replacement to Zanzibar to me, or to Limonata for that matter. Both of those would be preferred, with Limonata on top.
