Spectre Wraith

This has been one hell of a fragrance, it made me realize how beautifully a fragrance matures and you need patience to come across certain "difficult" scent profile and how good you will be rewarded for it. I outright hated the scent when I first got it thinking the money was completely down the drain, which makes me sympathize with the negative reviews that this has, as I understand that this is very pungent and sharp and unpleasant when you first smell it, almost like a turpentine-esque quality to it. I was hopeless that this would be any usable even if it gets better after maturing; nevertheless, out of despair of money lost, I kept it for maturing anyway. Fast forward a few months (and I mean more than 2 months or so) I recently tried this again and I was shocked to see what I was going to miss. This is so deep, rich, alluring and dark yet alluring scent that I was desperately trying to attain. It starts off with a boozy accord backed with dark coffee (not the milky gourmand type) and spices (cannot make out which). The mid brings out a good dose of earthiness associated with patchouli and vetiver giving it a certain heaviness. All of these notes are backed with faint sweetness associated with slightly burnt sugar. The sweetness here is merely doing a delicate balancing act and the scent profile is far from the usual gourmand sweetness that everyone is accustomed to. The entire scent profile is therefore quite dark and would not cater to majority of the people unless you know exactly what kind of genre of scent you getting into. It would not be wise to buy this in hope of getting something along the likes Khamrah Qahwa for example, which is much more sweet and pleasing. For people who are searching a more wearable, appealing (and much less dark) version of this masterpiece are advised to try out Artisan Ethnique. The performance is heavy, in a good way. Since the scent is itself heavy and piercing (not to be confused with the sharpness you might get at the start) it is very well projecting and can be picked up easily in the air. Longevity on me was great as well, lasted for about 8-9 hours on my skin. The bottle is a beauty in itself and can be owned just as a collector piece to ameliorate your collection. The atomizer on the other hand is just okayish, it sprays a short and wide burst that is not very good and warrants a careful and close distance spray. Overall, this is a dark horse in the sea of sickly sweet gourmands. The development of this scent and the overall complexity it manages to achieve is a winner in itself and justifies the price. It is warm yet hauntingly piercing, demands attention and confidence yet is somehow cosy in its core. For about €40 i spent on this, I regret not getting and experiencing it sooner. That being said, please give it time and you will be rewarded for your patience, but that is if you know what you are getting into.

Re-writing my review for this to be a bit more simple.... I applied 6 sprays of this newly acquired juice today for work and during my shift a co-worker kept walking in the room I was in saying "man it smells like coffee and Bailey's (irish cream) in here". This woman said this probably 7-10 times over the course of my shift. She HAD to be talking about this stuff. This to me smells more like a slightly (intense focus on the word SLIGHTLY with this one) freshness mixed with intense chocolate/coffee with a touch of caramel. Lots of reviews saying it needs something to freshen it up, and I detect a freshness here, could it be more? Sure, but I personally really enjoy this as it is. An intensely beautiful and slightly addicting experience all in all. I do pick up the rum note, but it seems to be something that's very short lived, the sandalwood is maybe about the only other thing I can somewhat detect in this. 6 sprays did me well. For other oversprayers like myself, you could probably push 10 sprays of this before it really starts to annoy even yourself, but I think anywhere between 4-8 will do you well. It still lingers on me after the workday about 8 hours later, but on an off day with no sweat or working, I pulled about 14 hours out of this. Sillage seems good. I couldn't really tell how far it goes as I seem to grow slightly asnomic to it overtime, the only reason outside of it lofting up to me that I could tell it had sillage to it still was when lady came in the room talkiing about coffee and Irish cream again 7 hours into my shift. Lol. So it definitely has some power. Lastly, like many reviews have stated, this stuff will NOT be for everyone. The opening especially even for me (and I really like this stuff) is a little bit gross, almost a medicinal chocolate/coffee for the first couple of minutes, but it very quickly shows its true colors, which definitely seem to be dark, spicy, and gourmand af, but also it's just out of a lot of guys' boathouses if I had to guess. For me? REALLY well done. I've not smelled Black Phantom, but this has a vibe that you could call "black phantom" so whatever they did, they did it well. If you like weirder, more dark, intense stuff, you'll love this. For me, I love stuff like Black Orchid, Red Tobacco, Layton, 3 somewhat "weird", dark, intense, medicinal in some facets fragrances, and this stuff sits in that territory, played out WAY different though. Not an everyday wear, more just the perfect rainy or snowy fall/winter day or night vibe. I could see this hitting REALLY good on a wintery cold date to a coffee shop or something like that. But it'll wear to work or whatever else all the same, but that's just my opinion. This one is definitely a little more polorizing. I'd give it a 10/10 if it seemed a tiny bit more versatile, but as it is, I'd still give it a 9.5/10 for me.

Spectre Wraith by French Avenue is one of my personal favorites — a dark, bitter, and mysterious scent that leaves a lasting impression. It opens with an intense hit of roasted black coffee, immediately setting a moody tone. There’s a dry bitterness to it that won’t be for everyone, and was hard for me to come around to when I first sprayed this, but for those who get it? It’s addictive. It smells like a mysterious man in long black clothing on a cold winter morning, booze still on his breath, walking into a coffee shop, black hat and long black hair covering his eyes so you can't see what's in them. He orders a dark roast with a couple of sugar packets. You don’t know what he did last night, where he came from, or where he’s going. And neither does he. There’s a spiced warmth wrapping around the bitterness, almost like there’s a dark chocolate note missing. As it dries down, it feels like the man is steadily drinking his warm, bitter roast, and with each sip it's slowly warming his soul and something is starting to shift in his spirit. That's the sweetness that's hiding in this fragrance waiting for it's time to come alive. It gives the fragrance more dimension and smooths out the rougher edges and makes the bitterness more tolerable for those off put by it. It’s powerful, atmospheric, and bold. The bitterness upfront may be too much for some, but if you love coffee-forward, spicy, and darkly sweet scents, Spectre Wraith is one to try.

I have never smelled Killian's Black Phantom before, but this is amazing. out of the box the notes of rum, and dark chocolate hit you and quickly cools down for coffee, sugar, and wood (With the chocolate still there). It smells warm, inviting and seductive kinda like a dark night with your partner in the forest with the stars outside (Not a scary forest lmao). Performance rn is great (I JUST GOT THIS OUT THE BOX NOT EVEN 2 HOURS AGO AND I CAN STILL SMELL IT PRETTY WELL), the silliage is strong and the smell quickly fills the room when sprayed. Now I wouldn't say that this is blind buy safe because everybody may not like this type of smell but I do recommend atleast giving it a try before deciding. I'll update in about a week but now this is one of my most favourite fragrance, the beauty of the smell is amazing and I love the chocolate mixed with wood. Overall if you like a sweet, mature, dark, chocoloty fragrance then this is smt I would reccomend. RATING: 9/10 SO FAR ILL UPDATE SOON UPDATE: Literally perfect, I love the smell and the performance is amazing. RATING: 9.5/10 (I TRY GIVING FAIR RATINGS BUT THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV SCENTS RN)

French Avenue have some solid perfumes and this is a great example of that. I wouldn't say it's very close to Black Phantom at least in the opening, in the drydown it does get a lot closer. It's dark, sweet you can fell the run, the sugar and the coffee, the scent profile does change several times, at the beginning it's strong rum, then I can only describe it as some sort of chocolate milk it's kind of weird, not gonna lie, but I kinda like it, the third phase you can smell most of the ingredients, the chocolate milk smell does back off a bit and you can smell the booze, the sugar, the coffee the sandalwood, it's pretty complex. Overall I like it although I think that Emper's Phantom my hero is better if you like Black Phantom and also cheaper, simpler and more to the point. But as someone who loves this scent profile it's still pretty good to me. That dark and sweet smell is what I'm for, NOT BLIND BUY safe just to be clear, but if you like dark, boozy, sweet and harsh scent profiles it's pretty solid, the presentation and atomizer are pretty good too. Solid 7.5 or 8 out of 10 for me.

Re-review Wore this out during colder weather and it’s changed my whole view of this thing. Absolute beast, it projects well enough but the longevity is insane. On skin it goes from afternoon to the next morning and on clothes it lasts and projects for DAYS. I used to think this was too sweet and that coffee wasn’t noticeable but it definitely is there and the sweetness is not cloying at all. Just have to be in proper colder weather. This is a magnificent Dark Chocolate, Coffee , Boozy , Smoky scent. Smells like a really fancy coffee ice cream with chocolate bits in it. I remember Black Phantom smelling a bit different but I don’t really care this stuff makes me want to bite myself or get sick from eating too much chocolate and coffee ice cream. 9/10

Ok so, i've never tried the original , but i can describe you pretty well how this thing smells to me, i don't understand the people saying that this is simple or boring because this is very complex. The opening is a strong hit of rum with a warm spicy aroma, a little bit sweet a very little bit fruity but a very dark note. After that for around 5 minutes to me it smells like carboard :)) idk why, but after that it just smells like dark coffee which finishes in a nice chocolate note , not very dark, a little bit milky from the sandalwood. And after life 4-6 hours the smell settles down in a comforting sweet caramelish like smell with a hint of almond which is kinda fresh, like minty fresh, i think its from the heliotrope.

As with almost all Arabian fragrances, I've found they need a month or so of maceration to FULLY develop. I first got this a while back and don't get me wrong, it was a solid 7/10 off rip. The spices and rum mixed into a sugary wooded backbone smells amazing. However, I've recently tried it again after letting it sit, and it's bumped up to a 9/10 in my books. It's just so incredibly smooth. It smells extremely edible and I do recommend if you're a fan of warm gourmands. Sillage is also strong on my skin personally, as well as very good longevity, but that's expected from such a smooth, heavy fragrance. Definitely worth your pennies.

Almost exact copy of Black Phantom. The bottle is tacky but still feels high quality with its heavy metal construction, sharply angled cap and pressurized atomizer. The juice itself is legit. BP is one of my favorite scents and this just nails the profile, with above average performance to boot. Lots to love here. Obviously no one told the guys at the design company that bullets don't fire with their casing attached - it's so painful to look at that I'll probably keep this one hidden behind other scents lol. That's just me though.. And I'll still be reaching for it a whole lot.

This fragrance is stunning, and I truly don’t understand the negative reviews. At just $28–$35, it’s an absolute steal. It radiates confidence and warmth, beautifully blending sugar and rum with an uplifting coffee note that ties everything together seamlessly. Longevity is impressive, lasting 8–11 hours with strong projection throughout. The packaging feels premium, making the price point even more unbelievable. This is easily one of my top three affordable / cheapie fragrances, and I’d confidently rate it an 8/10. There’s no reason not to add this to your collection.

I get very prominent dark chocolate and coffee infusion with spices sprinkled on top. Solid 8-10 hours longevity. A bit on the mature side, I wouldn't recommend to people under 25 or so. Such a gorgeous fragrance, my new cold weather staple. People in the comments who hate this probably haven't hit puberty yet. Edit: After spending ~3 weeks with this fragrance, I can say with confidence that this is my favorite dupe of all time. Your mileage may vary, but this scent profile just tick every single box for me. Intoxicating, delicious, dark.

In my opinion this is a very good winter and late fall fragrance. The opening isn't the best because it only smells like a sweet rum but as it starts to drydown it is absolutely amazing, the coffee note takes the upfront and it a combination of a coffee with chocolate and a little bit of sweet rum. Also from my point of view, it is NOT a 90% dupe of Black Phantom by Killian, but somehow you still find that rum dna inside of it. Overall it is very nice and easy to wear in the winter and fall time. 9/10

This is really nice. Think Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa with stronger coffee and a dark chocolate note. Rich and decadent. Punches above its weight class, and smells a lot more expensive than it is. Strong projection for about the first hour, then settled down and stayed pretty linear throughout. Lasts all day (I can still smell this after 12+ hours), and got the familiar Middle Eastern oud note at the very end! This is a grown-up scent, for sure. Love this stuff. Would I buy it again? Yes.

i regress - this is actually a very nice one! it still is a slightly sweet, boozy, dusty coffe but it envelops you in a nice scent cloud which is daring and comfortable. i love smelling it on myself but i think it disappears almost instantly. i still smell it when i bury my face in the sweater but i feel like the sillage doesnt exist here. this is the only drawback but other than that its worth the money and extremely suitable for winter. if you get it for less than 30€ its a steal.

Contradictory to the review before mine, I get sweet chocolate and mineralic woods. I'm grateful for the woody aromas as this would be too sweet for me otherwise. Wish I got some vetiver. This is long lasting and my strongest from FA Paris/FW. It's very inviting, well blended, and can be used on a night out from fall to spring or even business-casual settings on cold winter days. I work in an office and have no hesitation of wearing this to work this fall and winter. Love it!

Absolutely loved it when I had it. By far my favourite in terms of scent profile alone. But the best way I'd describe it is a scent with quite a dark profile, but quite sweet and the blend with the coffee and rum notes are perfect. Lasts easily above 8 hours, however it just doesn't project as much as I'd want for a perfume that smells like this. Only thing I noticed (bought this Jan 2025 and finished it within 3 months) is that its quite sticky on skin when it dries down.

Unique scent profile, very tasty smelling gourmand. Dark, mysterious, sexy and intoxicating. Reminds me of a very erotic evening. There is some fleeting, non descript fruity aspect in this perfume, maybe it's the patchouli. The original is slightly more bitter and coffee centered, this is more sweet gourmandy, but they are very close. Unfortunately the OG smells like nothing on my skin (on paper it was amazing), so I have to rely on clones :)

Opening is sweet and gourmandy and it slowly transforms into a bitter and slight leathery coffee like smell. I was playing RDR1 on my phone when i bought this thing and i think this just fits Right to john marston’s personality because first thing is the Bottle and then the boozy leathery bitter smell exactly how i assume a cowboy gunslinger would smell like. I don’t know why but as soon as i spray this reminds me of RDR1.

Everyone smells something a tad bit different, opening is very much like a border line cheap vodka, it otherwise disappears quickly and calms down to a nicer rum note, very chocolaty, with acomping spices. all comes together to create a very bold fragrance. don't buy this unless you wanna elicit ideas of being a frequent club goer with the faint stench of alcohol following you. great smell though, I love it!

Rum, spices, chocolate, lactonic notes and coffee. Can pick up some slight caramel as well. Deep, dark and gourmandy. Was surprised with the opening; not harsh nor synthetic which is often the case with cheaper fragrances and clones. Have not smelled Black Phantom so I can’t compare the two, but looking only at the note breakdown there are great similarities between them. I like this fragrance a lot.
