Friction Night Her

Another affordable win for FCUK. This flanker, due to its notes, and my love of the FCUK scents I've gotten, really didn't surprise me when I received it today and spritzed it on. The pepper and bergamot really leaped forward in sultry spice fashion with he Jasmine and Musk following quickly behind. As with most of their scents, the Unisex qualities are very pronounced, this one being exquisitely dark and sultry in its atmosphere. Unlike many scents, this one actually details each note as displayed here during the run of it's dry down. From the Pepper to the Fig to the final listed woodsy notes, each note can be identified, which I found pleasing, as many scents I have found seem to have notes listed that I cannot identify in the scent, or notes in the scent that I cannot find listed. This scent certainly feels fall/winter and dusk/night. Without being heavy or cloying, this scent manages to illuminate thoughts and feelings of a night out, or a moonlight stroll. It's warm, sultry, with a spicy flavor that seems best suited for nighttime activities, and says little to "Spring" or "Lightness" or even "Cheery"...leaning instead to the seductive, romantic, sultry and mysterious. The scent can be easily worn by either gender due to it's spicy and warm aura and I doubt anyone would question it's gender usage, be that a man or woman wearing it, neither would be looked upon as wearing something not meant for them and would probably be surprised that it isn't marketed as a straight up unisex scent, as it certainly is without any of the occasionally pitfalls of such a label. This scent pulls it off without any tricks or missteps. Very glad I gave it a try, and very glad FCUK once again lived up to my opinion of them as a fragrance house.

I was so sure this would list violet in the notes! It has something that smells like a cola note to me. There is something fizzy and effervescent about it but it has a super creamy sweet, tonka heavy drydown. I have a feeling that if you like American Cream from Lush, you will also like this one. Same with Pascal Morabito Pure Perle..... they don’t smell the same, but I get the sense that they could be related! American cream is a candied relative and Pure Perle is a citrusy relative! I might sound mad, but they all give me similar vibes!

I had this sitting unused in my collection for about a year, when I decided to give it another chance. After having a chance to mature a bit, this is a smooth, creamy, smokey, peppery fragrance that is actually really nice! I agree with those who compare it to cream soda. It actually reminds me of Versace Crystal Noir EDP. They both have creamy, woody, pepper facets to them which are really lovely.

I had heard of this perfume and after careful consideration, I bought it , for $20. I love unorthodox perfumes, and this one definitely doesn’t stray from that. It really does smell like a mixture of flat Dr. pepper & cream soda. Also, faintly, i get a pine note in it . Possibly a generic plastic smell somewhere in the mix. I do like it a lot, but not sure if i will repurchase just yet .

It’s a very affordable perfume, I’ve had it for a long time and just never gravitated towards it. I made the effort to start using it as an everyday work perfume. The perfume smells okay (in a good way) I get the aromatic musky scent and slightly sweet notes. The perfumes leans more feminine, however I think it’ll still work on males. I found the perfume a little too powdery to start with and found myself trying to not let it affect my throat/breathing. After some time the powdery feeling settled. After 4-5 hours the perfume became Smokey smelling (but not in a bad way). The smokey dry down part reminded me of a very subtle version of Mason Margiela By the fire place (and I like that perfume). Edit:I realised I was not really reaching for it like my other fragrances, so I gave it away and 80% full bottle.

I really WANT to like this fragrance for what is it. In theory it's my style, smoky, dark, deep, but there's something I can't put my finger on that is just a little off and gives me a headache. Might be the fruity notes. If the top notes weren't so purple, fig, grapey I think it would vibe with me. However I think it's worth a try for a cheap blind buy just for the thrill. Maybe I'll take a liking to it eventually or give it to a friend.

This reminds me of 'Palmer Violet' sweets. It has a very citrus like woody smell, the fig and bergamot really pop out. This wasn't really for me. I would say this is for a very young woman or teen.

LOVE at first sniff. If the song Cola by Lana Del Ray was a fragrance it would be this. It opens as mouthwatering sweet spiced cola and dries down to a creamy incense-infused powder similar to the smell of a Lush store. But Lush from afar: enough to know its in the vicinity but not close enough to be an olfactory assault. Hugged my small niece after a respray and she exclaimed "mmm you smell like a bath bomb!" Lol. As this was compared to American Cream by Lush in the reviews I had to go try that too but it did not sit well on my skin, giving off a nasty pungent stinky note that made me feel like an unwashed hippie. Whereas Friction Night makes me feel like a delicious syrup drizzled spice cake placed on an alter near an incense stick. You'd think that would make this a cold weather only scent but it is surprisingly lovely to wear in the tropical summer heat of my part of Australia. Gorgeous.

Darn, I was hoping to write the first review of this, but waited too long! That's fine though, Redrusty66 did a better job describing it than I could. This was yet another stop on my journey through bargain fragrances. I got this for less than $20 and was so impressed by it that I immediately ordered a back up. In my experience this is very unique. It was one of those that I sprayed and said "Now THIS is something! I don't know what, but something!" To me it smells a bit like non carbonated Dr. Pepper and cream soda classed up with subtle smoky and resinous qualities. It's not bubbly, its smooth and opaque. I really love it. I don't think it lasts incredibly well, but I don't mind. I've been wearing it a bit in the spring because I enjoy it so much, but it's definitely more of a fall/winter scent. I'm excited to wear it when the cool weather comes back around.

I was so excited for this fragrance - I discovered out of the blue and it was only $13! I have Friction for both men & women and enjoyed both of those. Friction Night... when I smelled the nozzle, it immediately reminded me of another heavy fragrance I have. After about a minute, I realized it was Aromadisiac for Men by Avon. They both contain the identical hard-candy fig confectionery sweetness and something mulberry colored. The sweetness isn't as jarring as Aromadisiac for Men by Avon, but it's high sugar none-the-less. It has a very "perfumey" vibe that will put some off... However, Friction Night has better quality ingredients/chemicals that Aromadisiac. I'll keep trying this... I want to like it so bad... Fig & Pepper? AMAZING! ...but this isn't really doing it for me.

It finally clicked with me... I adore this fragrance! It's so heavy and sweet... I cannot stress that enough! Friction Night isn't some amicable designer scent... It's just so bold and requires a rapport. I'm glad I kept trying this one every couple days. I like to layer it with Ted Lapidus Black Soul Imperial - a smooth yet piercing leather combined with a very sweet and spicy "dark" scent. It just works out. If you were to ask me if you should blind buy this... NO! But, if you're a masochist like me and like to challenge yourself.... YES!

(DISCLAIMER) Im talking about the mens version since it isn't on here yet. Friction Night for men is such a nice smell. cheap vanilla clubbing scent. i fell in love at first sniff lol. blind buy safe imo.
