Pear Pavlova

I was so excited to try it. To be honest it’s because of the bottle design and colour of the packaging. Also the price seems very good. And for some reason I associate it with Steel Ball Run (don’t ask me I’m just a girl). Having free samples (just pay for the shipping) is so nice and very rare, wish more brands would do that. And now on the real review. I usual hate pear heavy fragrances. To me they are to sweet and make my stomach hurt like I just ate an overly ripe pear but this one is different. I love the pear in this! It starts with a sweet pear opening but the pear is fresh from the tree and still not ready to eat but smells so good (I don’t know if you get me, but I lived on a farm for 3 years and fresh pear to me smells just like this). After the pear settles down you get a lovely musky clean smell with a hint of sweetness and to me it smells like it also has some almonds. The only perfume it reminds me of is Tardes by Carner Barcelona. It’s like a more lovely and version of it. Tardes is a bit harsh and heavy but this one is light and sweet. As for the reviews that some people are mentioning. I don’t know how would they benefit from just 4 fake reviews. My theory is that maybe someone is trying to make bad name of the brand by making these (because they obviously are fake) and than talk about how they are fake and spreading the rumours around so that people get turned off. If you want to ban this brand from here than you have to ban almost all Arabian perfumes because they are overflowing with fake reviews (which is sad because they don’t need them because most of the perfumes are solid). I would recommend to people who are sceptical to just order the sample and not get into the drama because at the end of the day fragrances just like looks are subjective and everyone has their own taste. To sum up. To me this is a good fragrance I am considering adding it to my collection. And I am excited to see what they cook next. But I also think this is definitely not blind buy safe, it’s not a standard gourmand of floral it’s very musky and sweet I recommend sampling it first.

This one is sooo special. I will say the very initial (~5 mins) top notes whiff is a bit soapy for me, but that is forgivable because from 5 minutes to 24 hours after spraying this fragrance is INCREDIBLE. The pear note is so fresh and interesting because I don’t see many pear fragrances around. I love it. Fruity without having been done before. The real star though is the dry down to the creamy meringue filled sweet musk, it is absolutely addicting. Gourmand to the max and I just think of white fluffy whipped cream mixed with a sparkling pear spritzer. It also lasts forever—truly. There is no worry about a dissipating fragrance with this one. This is an absolute must try for anyone who likes fruity, gourmand, or “skin scent” fragrances.

I got this and another sample and with a ‘one on each arm’ moment sort of accidentally tried them together. I immediately ran and bought both full bottles. I’ve yet to wear this alone but within a week have a significant dent in this and the one I accidentally married it to. Trust me trust me trust me. Layer this on top of Mischief Academy’s Almond Milk. It’s magical. The laconic nutty base gives the crisp pear and apple (?!) notes (I smell crisp apple) something sweet to dry down into and it turns the musk into something that smells SO. BEAUTIFUL. I brawl for sweet gourmand and didn’t even get a chance to get mad at the musk in this. The drydown I’ve been smelling is the most beautiful layered almost key lime pie scent.

I have only tried this real quick once, but liked it a lot. Very fresh, natural pear scent with a soft musk. Really clean smelling. Sillage smells a lot different and much nicer than smelling close to skin. BUT! Notes are very incomplete here on Fragrantica. The house states these notes: pear, meringue, whipped cream, pink peppercorn, bitter almond, jasmine, ambrette seed, musk. Also, the nose is NOT Allie Goodbun but Ashley Santiago (in cooperation with Allie G). Please correct this @fragrantica!

Got a sample in the mail a few days ago, and I had very high expectations considering their rollout on social media (I was a bit skeptical, I have to admit). For some time now, I’ve been looking for a daily perfume that’s fresh, clean, and a bit sweet, something nice but not overpowering, and this perfume is exactly that! Also, 90 euros for 100 ml... yeah, I’m buying this! I’m actually really excited about what’s coming next from French Cowboy. Will keep my eye on them for sure.

This pear fragrance is made for you if you’re into pretty and clean girl scents! I really don’t think this is very sweet. I’m not a huge dessert gourmand fragrance person. I would compare this to a pear and powdery, only slightly sweet marshmallow instead of meringue. It gives me a tiny bit of lotion vibe and not so much shampoo because of that marshmallow quality. I love this one! It’s not a juvenile pear candy scent, which is hard to find.

I was able to try Pear Pavlova at a niche perfume show in San Francisco. When it was sprayed on my skin, its complexity evolved the longer I wore it, and it really made a wonderful match with my skin chemistry. It was fresh, powdery, and youthful in scent, but the notes of the fragrance deepened into a soft scent that I would wear daily. 1000/10 recommend for sure. For a new line of perfumes, French Cowboy gets it right on the first try!

This sweet yet musky perfume is my new favorite. It smells clean and natural, but at the same time it is just so unique. It wears so well on my skin, and it’s one of few perfumes I’ve worn that people specifically notice and ask what perfume I’m wearing. The great value is doubled since it’s a unisex scent and my husband loves wearing it too!

I love this as an everyday staple for spring and summer seasons. The pear is very photorealistic, juicy and a bit tart. It reminds me of sour patch kids but in a grown up way. I never thought I would like a scent profile like this but I keep reaching for it. Its also an inoffensive scent so you could wear it to the office

It's Pear Pavlova's perfect mix of crisp, sweet, and fresh notes that's made it the best fragrance for everyday use! It's longevity is impressive given it's price and I've never received as many compliments on how good I smell until now. Genuinely a great buy!

on me this smells a lot like Mojave Ghost from Byredo - however with a pear twist. it’s beautiful, sweet but not too sweet, definitely a clean scent. if you like mojave ghost this is a safe blind buy

Love this! My son picked it out for me to smell at ScentBar in LA. It’s fresh and sweet. An easy reach for summer! Walked out with a FB. It does NOT smell like plastic on me at all.

Fair to say, I'm not a big fan of pear scents. I barely smell them, and they're usually too weak for my taste. But when I ordered a sample of another perfume from this brand, I decided to try this one as well. I mean, why not? And I was pleasantly surprised! The opening is a very photorealistic fresh pear, the kind you cut open and the juice drips down your fingers. I especially love this opening in cold weather. As it dries down, it becomes a slightly sweet, powdery, musky scent, still with noticeable pear notes. It's a little bit shampoo-ish, but in a very comfortable way for me. I wear it on gym days, and it doesn't turn sour or become cloying at all. Instead, it feels clean and fresh throughout. It's actually a really good everyday scent for those moments when you're not sure exactly how you want to smell, but you still want to smell effortlessly good. That's when I'd choose this one.

I bought a sample from their website and I really enjoyed it. The moment I sprayed it, it immediately reminded me of Moschino Gold Fresh Couture, they smell almost identical to me, although I slightly prefer Pear Pavlova. I actually used to own the Moschino one, but eventually ended up gifting it to a friend because I got a bit tired of it over time. I would probably buy a bottle of Pear Pavlova if it came in a 30ml size, because with the larger bottle I’m afraid I might end up passing it along as well. I’m still thinking about it since I already have a few other perfumes higher on my wishlist, but overall it’s a beautiful fragrance for summer - fresh, playful, and very easy to wear.

I’m not usually a fan of clean scents, actually the exact opposite, but I really like this one. I have to disagree with some reviews below saying it smells cheap, at least to my nose the reason I like this one is the fact it loses the initial alcoholic and soapy qualities and remains as a well blended scent in comparison, with great longevity. The initial spray comes off a bit soapy, very clean and fruity with a fresh, juicy pear - which gets creamier and sweeter in the dry down, without becoming cloying or overwhelming. I think it’s a very good fresh, clean skin scent perfect for everyday wear. I recommend trying the free samples on their website

There is something a bit sickly and plasticky about this to me... I was imagining something super light, airy and juicy, but what I got was more of a thick, sweet pear compote and a vinyl-like doll head note. It’s not bad, just a very different direction than what I was expecting. There’s definitely a good dose of pear and ambrette, but the musk is much more dense, and there’s almost a synthetic spiced/sparkling thing going on, akin to the Bath and Both Champagne Toast candle.

So glad I waited before writing this review, because on the first sniff, this smelled like gasoline on my skin. But once it settled, it turned into soft, lovely, powdery musk. I have to agree that pear almost completely disappears after a while, which I'm not mad about. As for longevity, it really took me by surprise that I could still smell it on my wrist 8 hrs later. This is a yes from me!

I love a pear note so I was really looking forward to trying this perfume. It is a fresh pear shampoo scent- soapy, juicy, bright but with a surprising masculine/spicy/cologne type note on me that really took over upon dry down. it smells good but was not exactly what I expected it to be, and the longevity is not impressive.

I’m such a sucker for a good pear perfume. This is one is pear candy with density and richness. Wears super long and dries down warmer and gourmander. It is a little old school bath and body works, but it feels streamlined and more intentional, you can feel the love of perfumery in this composition. Delicious and charming.

I like the opening, but a bit too sweet later. I tried it during hotter days and I didn't like how it developed on my skin. It smelled too synthetic. But if you like pear, this note will definitely last longer and it's very realistic and fresh in the opening. I will test it again when the weather cools down a bit.😊

there is a very synthetic element to this, a sort of plasticky smell that i’m not in love with. this is also very reminiscent of several body sprays i’ve tried. however, it is a very pleasant and wearable scent. i’d probably never upgrade this, but it’s nice

Pear Pavlova is not a true gourmand. It opens with an almost adehydic pear that melts into into the memory of whipped meringue and fuzzy musks. Wears more like a skin scent. Smells a bit like a high end lotion. Lovely. Samples available at Nectar Atelier.

Very nice, pear forward opening with clean musk. After it dries down, it turns into any other generic sweet perfume. Not bad at all, but unremarkable. Fragrantica seems to be missing a bunch of notes. There’s definitely some white floral in there.

The pear note is really interesting, it really gives the impression on cutting into a pear peel. I like the way it’s paired with creamy musk/meringue to make something cozy. (Unrelated but I feel like pear is a weird topping for a pavlova irl)

a perfect musky pear scent! i don’t get nearly as much meringue as i would probably like, and the musk does overpower the pear very quickly. that being said, it does become almost woody over time and the musk does become less in-your-face and is very wearable, perfect for these early spring temperatures! would i buy a FB? probably not, but the sample i have is fun to sniff! (edit: in some ways, the musk reminds me heavily of “gentle reminder” by snif!)

This is a sweet, powdery pear shampoo scent. I wouldn't say it's very gourmand. It didn't give me anything distinctly 'whipped meringue' or food-like beyond pear. It kind of gives me similar vibes to Midnight Orchard by Octavia Morgan, but with pear and a dash of slightly-scratchy musk. I got tired of wearing this one very quickly, but didn't scrub it off, so I guess it's fine. Not rushing to wear it again.

I expected a fluffy musk cloud with some freshness from the pear and just a hint of sweetness but it went straight candy rock sugar on me. Very sweet and more candy like then what I expected. It also reminds me of Jpg scandal by night when it dries down. It’s overall just okay. I would buy this for my niece or someone in their late teens. But for me it’s sadly a no on this one.

I don’t get a ton of pear at all here actually. When I think pear, I think of ilio by Diptyque. Light, juicy, fresh, mouth watering. With pear pavlova I get a big dose of dessert. This is VERY gourmand on me in the dry down. I was surprised to see meringue so small on the note pyramid lol. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. I’ll probably finish my 1ml and move on

The pear in the opening is both delicious and shampoo-like. I love a clean musk but there is something in the sweetness from the meringue that I find to be a little sickly and jarring. On first impressions this is almost perfect but just narrowly misses the mark. I will need to give a further wear test but these are my initial thoughts.

I received a sample and just tried it. It starts with a very sweet, almost chemical pear scent, but that fades quickly. All that’s left is a slightly artificial pear scent with no evolution. Less intense and less daring than Mezcal Chocolat. The scent doesn’t last very long on me, which is fine by me.

This is possibly the sweetest fragrance I have smelled 😬 I'm not sure how I feel about it. Its verging on cloying sickly headache inducing. It smells nice, the scent isn't bad at all. I just don't this this is easy to wear. You would have to be well into heavy gourmands to enjoy this and wear it.

My nose picks up on something leathery in this.. Not sure what would be causing that. Definitely glad I just sampled and didn't blind buy. It sort of just reminds me of a more leathery JPG La Belle.

A sweet, sparkly pear drink with tasteful musk. Maybe a liiiitllle too musky but other than that, not too heavily feminine, not too sweet, just right. It’s like Pear Inc by JHAG but on crack.

I'm undecided... There's always a bit of a cardboard note to me in this, and something strange I can't identify. The longevity on this is pretty good, though.

Too shampooey for me and the drydown isn’t particularly impressive either. It’s ok but I think the TikToker hype set my expectations a little too high tbh

Realistic pear with an expensive soap base, very similar to La Danza delle Libellule by Nobile 1942: a fruit and vanilla clean fragrance

On skin there is this plasticy/rubbery note , I can pick up a weak pear in the background but the rubber note is to pungent !

Smells like Bath and Bodyworks girlies by the community pool in early June. There's something... weirdly cheap about the combination that I don't love, even though some of the body sprays of the early aughts were to my liking. Very sour on the nose for me, even with a bit of drydown. I get poolwater instead of anything genuinely marine, and anything I could distinguish as meringue faded within an hour. It's there -- but it's doing something to feminize the scent behind the scenes instead of just being itself. I won't be wearing it and probably can't recommend it.

I ordered a sample of this and a few other scents on their website. Sprayed it on a blotter first, I liked it on there! Definitely sweet yes, but considering the name I was expecting that, but also a freshness with the pear note. On my skin however, it is just sickly sweet. My skin tends to really enhance vanilla notes, and it ‘enhanced’ this is a very unpleasant way, none of the freshness of the pear remained and it turned sickly and cloying. Too bad!

I really wanted to love this one! But unfortunately I am not a gourmand girlie at heart 💔 despite the description people were saying this was a very juicy pear.. which it is for all of 2 seconds. It then immediately becomes very scratchy and heavy. (I wanna say that’s the musk?) I can see why someone would love this but it’s just not doing it for me, honestly the bottle is what drew me in. Excited to see what French Cowboy does next!

I had high hopes for this fragrance and really wanted to like it. I loved it on paper but on my skin it almost instantly developed a very distinct smell of burnt plastic - literally the first time this happened to me :( In this case I was actually glad that the longevity is about two minutes and projection is basically nonexistent, I could barely smell it with my nose almost pressed on the spot where I applied it. Oh well...

Branding and the bottle is very nice I really like it but in terms of the scent it’s basic as it’s gets. It literally smells like any other VS, Bath&Body works body mist. If I smelt this without knowing anything I would be 100% sure it’s one of drogerie cheap body mists. This probably performs better than those cheap body mists but I don’t care about performance if the smell itself is like this. SUPER OVERHYPED!

I get pear mixed with spice in the opening and then it quickly becomes all spice and musk on me. I did not get soapy, shampoo, fresh at all. I am very sensitive to spiciness and heaviness in fragrance and that is all this seems to be to my nose. Someone described it as scratchy and heavy and yes that is it! Unfortunately it stays pretty strong on me and I had to wash it off.

Dangit! I needed a fresh pear and was counting on this! At first there’s a bright juicy pear that got me so excited then immediately after there’s a sharp synthetic thing going on. I’m so disappointed.

smells like caravan holidays and cheap cleaning detergent, the opening was promising but the drydown is almost unbearable on my skin. I will definitely be giving it away to a friend(or nemesis)
