Tobacco Caramel

Several years ago, at a Fresh boutique in Boston, I purchased a coffret of 20 small perfumes. I thought it was a great chance to try them all and then go buy the ones I loved most. Sadly, after completing this fun experiment, I found that most of the scents were no longer being made by Fresh (either the coffret was an experiment, or some had been discontinued). This is one of the few included that is still made. It wasn't my instant favourite (that was Bergamot), or even my final favourite (Moss Violet), but it was the perfume that grew on me the most - at first, I didn't like it at all, found it too strong and masculine, but over time (and with the onset of cold weather), I found myself really enjoying it. There are gourmand qualities but it isn't sweet; it's very dry and a little peppery. It felt very warm, rich and private. I would like to find it again some day.

I think the name refers more to the colour caramel rather than the food.The sweetness here has no depth (if you want caramel,get Jessica Simpson's Fancy). I smell peaty scotch whiskey,anise and old fashioned men's cologne.It probably smells much like the men's smoking room in a manor house would smell like (think Downton Abbey). It's an interesting scent in the set of 15 miniatures in the Fresh "Index Fragrance Chronicles",but not my favourite. (I love Fleur de Chocolat,Fig Apricot and Violet Moss)

It's a shame this seems to be discontinued...would have been something I would have LOVED to try, especially for this fall/winter. Sounds like my perfect kind of fragrance, sweet but spicy and warm. I hope they re-release it again someday. Would love to add it to my Fresh collection! If anyone knows of a fragrance that is similar, please let me know!

My experience with this was seeing it at Sephora years ago and testing it. It was caramel vanilla,tobacco essence. The other ones I bought, which is not listed was Currant Marine, which was fabulous as summer scent with good staying power, ozonic and fruits and Geranium Pepper, unisex and spicy.

Such an interesting fragrance. I was draw to this scent because of it's name, and while I don't loveee overly caramel fragrances, this was a far more exotic mix than even the name suggested.

An excellent concept that you would expect to be sensual, maybe a gourmand that's not so cliche, but it fails. It smells extremely medicinal, very much like cough syrup.
