Yes, this is strong but I think the patchouli is more refrained than what I am reading in other reviews. I bought mine at Harrods in November 25. The one I purchased seems fresher than the sample in the salon. The one in the salon seemed deep and resinous.Mine has something fresh and faint but contrasting to the notes listed here on Fragrantica. It’s still 90% resembles what I smelled in the salon. That said I absolutely love this. It’s intoxicating. It reminds me of a warm blanket when most needed in a cold climate in a far remote area of Patagonia. I know that sounds silly and contrived, but it’s exactly what I’m feeling.

Other one of Fueguia's good fragrances 1833. Mahogany, interesting fragrance Niche. I use her in days of 20 degrees for below, do not enjoy it the days of high temperatures. Always present the patchouli and at 3 a.m. or 4 hours cocoa, softly, sweetly. A note of exit with gray amber, which it smells tobacco. 7 or 8 applications in my skin 10:30 Am. They are 18:30 pm and she feels rich. Good projection, long-lived and at all, at all, generic. All that happens in my skin, remembers that your skin is only. My cordial greeting from Argentina

For those who get it: this smells just like 粽子 (zongzi), specifically the type with dark soy sauce pork belly. Rich, earthy, savory yet sweet, the fragrance of the bamboo leaf and twine melted into the warm sticky rice. It smells so fucking delicious. Unfortunately the zongzi scent somewhat goes away with time and ends up more woody than tasty, but now I'm absolutely enamored with this. 100% would wear during the Dragon Boat festival.

An evocative and mesmerizing scent that evokes the feeling of opening an antique wooden treasure chest full of precious heirlooms. The main player is a beautiful mahogany wood which is surrounded initially by an earthy patchouli and slight rose and then by layers of cacao pod and finally ambergris. The unisex scent is simply constructed and has moderate sillage and good longevity. A lovely scent. Enjoy!

Eğer patchouli seviyorsanız ve biraz daha yumuşak ve şık bir patchouli istiyorsanız aradığınız parfüm bu. Düz bir patchouli kokusuna itirazım yoktur ama fazla gerçekçi diyebileceğim bazı patchouli temelli kokuların ilk 2 saat sonunda beni biraz sıktıgını söylemeliyim. Burada ise patchouli biraz yumusamakla kalmamış aynı zamanda daha şık hale gelmiş. Sonbahar ve kış aylarında çok keyifli olacaktır.

Very neat and "ringing" patchouli and amber. Not greasy, not sweet, not earthy with chocolate touch. Chocolate in form of cocoa powder. Very interesting. Very delicate. Calm and without harshness.

Gigantic, almost punishingly rich, deep and dark woods effect, with a patchouli so punchy and purple I found it a little too much overall. Definitely the smell of very valuable, lovingly carved and oiled, hardwood from some redolent rainforest. Almost conjuring rosewood (or even roses?) up top, and with the gorgeously rich organic texture at every level all the way down - that classic Fueguia 1833 style. The waxy-stinky-weirdy tang of ambergris gives it some kind of undeniable intrigue; while it's not really my thing (I am a little too cowardly about full-on patchouli) I kept sniffing and sniffing, even though I doubt I could wear it for a full day without feeling bit bludgeoned. Still undeniably phenomenal in its strength and assurance and absolutely in keeping with Fueguia's overall rugged, tropical-woods, exotic-with-integrity schtick.

Oh so strong, so aggressive from the start. Raw and rugged, disturbing almost. The initial blast calms down and evolves into an interesting mahogany and patchouli combo that’s almost medicinal.

Very VERY thick, raw patchouli. It's earthy, musky, creamy, can almost feel it's texture like a thick, sticky cream onto my arm. There's a hint of sweetness in there but it's the type of sweetness that would naturally come off from wet soil. Beyond that, I can again detect Fueguia's base in the background - something steamy/woody/salty supporting and lifting the patchouli up. As it dries down, more and more of that base seems to emerge, like getting slowly evaporated from the mass of cream, bringing something floral along with it. Camelia and roses? Dunno, the floracy is faint tho, and a tad bit sour. Overall..... it's like an unsweetened Bianchi perfume - Sticky Fingers but considerably better and not as stuffy as that one. I don't get any chocolate (? dunno why fragrantica has that note listed but oh well) whatsoever either. It's okay ig. Wouldn't wear it, and can be very cloying if oversprayed. More of a "scent" than a wearable perfume

Update I am wearing this today. I'd expect some woods in the topnotes since "caoba" means "mahogany", but all I can smell is the patchouly: a patch-centered blend, heavy in it, with enough "body" to hijack your sense of smell for hours. Other patch scents come to mind, among them, Givenchy Gentleman, however, without the later's complexity, it is quite linear. Cacao is mentioned in the pyramid, and someone mentioned similiarities with Xocoatl - I can get the references, but these are subdued enough as to ignore them. Original review A stroll along the woody direction of the patchouly road - avoid it in the Summer; this is of the kind that is only to be taken in the Winter. Bundle up and enjoy a Wintertime sunny cristal clear day, it perfectly matches the occasion.

OMG fragrantica AGAIN with the wrong ingredients! The Fueguia site actually lists rose, not cacao. The other two are bang on, though... What I get, along with the patch is a boozy oakmoss something. I don't know what it is...it's enough to hold my interest, but not enough to get me to buy it. The rose is slight and the ambergris (if indeed that is what I can smell, as described above), is slight. Interesting. Worth a try.

Caoba is one of my favorites from this house. This is a green and warm fragrance with the most prominent notes of patchouli and cocoa powder. It's not cloying sweet, nor too earthy. Perfectly balanced and very unisex. The staying power is very good.
