Misiones

Divine.. a beautiful genuine Olibanum immediately in the opening with then some lemon. Then it gets softened by what I think is the watery/ozonic notes. I was afraid of that part because that nineties Issey Miyake or Aqua di Giò is a past station for me. I feel some reference to these aquatics but Misiones is a more realistic, soft water. What makes it a masculine for me is the nutmeg which reminds of vintage Cacharel Pour Homme. That’s it. Few notes that beautifully balance the Olibanum note. Fresh, not smoky. A very relaxing, meditative scent for a crisp dewy Sunday morning in spring. - batch I-XXII - A week later I got a 5ml vial of Misiones batch I-XXIII. I recognize it immediately as Misiones but a bit sweeter and with a delicate vanilla. The notes described by fueguia with this new batch is now Olibanum-Myrrh-Opoponax. I think I find the Opoponax the dominant note now. The Opoponax also explains the delicate vanilla. It is a beautiful calming natural parfum with also some Myrrh and Olibanum. I think the former batch was more dry, a bit more crisp with a more foreward Olibanum, the lemon and some nutmeg. Both batches have the same linear aquatic/ozonic notes in which the incenses are gently floating. Very interesting, testing fueguia scents is like wine tasting.

Smells surprisingly bright, pure and fresh as lemon enhances the sharp, zingy characteristics of the myrrh, while the nutmeg provides its own unique mouth-watering properties, creating a texture that feels cool and liquid, not smoky as I was expecting. I will admit it is very similar to "Cardinal" by James Heeley, but in my opinion, smells much more invigorating and light on the skin. "Cardinal" becomes quite musky and tangy in the dry down phase due to its labdanum note. I wouldn't consider "Misiones" a winter scent. Far from it, I am finding that even an hour after application the freshness from the lemon and nutmeg continues to breathe, like rain droplets on the skin. Nor would I categorize it as masculine or feminine either. "Misiones" is not a sexual scent, it is more atmospheric and evocative of something sacred and ancient. Perhaps it won't stoke the fires of those who prefer more heavy, sultry incense compositions like "Sahara Noir", but it's not often you find an incense that can be worn in a casual, every day setting. Very wearable.

A unique aquatic incense based perfume. The perfume opens with a lovely frankincense and immediately starts transitioning to ozonic notes. In this aquatic mix, one can detect lemon, nutmeg, and a calone like note. The perfume is reminiscent of monasteries that may be situated next to waterfalls or rivers and takes you to the sceneries depicted in a movie like "The Mission". The unisex scent has moderate to unique sillage and good longevity. An incense scent that can easily be worn in the summer. Enjoy!

I can completely understand the position of the reviewer below this is YET another Full incense/Avignon/cardinal etc etc etc...the list is actually huge! A prominent fresh, light white frankincense note which sparkles out of this creation and I can't help but enjoy it. Sure it's not original and this (as far as I can remember?) is my first from this house so not the best start in terms of impressing me. The lady in the shop had the brief of "I like resinous, woody perfume, complex you know? Possibly something with incense and spices?" As soon as I mentioned incense she sprung to life and offered up lots of very familiar stuff infact she did bring Cardinal over too! When I asked for incense I didn't mean four perfumes which all smell the same!!! Oh and also...to speak on that wooden coffin...apparently they are made by disabled people in Patagonia or the Andes or somewhere? I didn't know if they were promoting the fair trade, ethical aspect of the manufacture or what? I'm sure it's not exploitative or slave labour or anything but when you see a brand demanding a high price, in a boutique store just seems a little misplaced. Anyway morality aside, Fueguia seem to offer up some interesting juice so I will reserve judgement until I've sampled more of the line. Average performance and nothing really new here scent wise but I still adore the smell it's stunning!

Upon application you get a LOT of incense, but after a few minutes something watery that i cant put my finger on comes out and plays with the spicyness of the nutmeg, creating an intoxicating, sensual and exotic blend. It was my first Fueguia fragance and I definitely love it. NOT to be worn on hot days, more of a winter night scent. I considered ir a quite feminine fragance, but everybody else seems to classify it a a VERY masculine one, which came as a surprise for me. Ladies definitly love it and find it very appealing. Overall, ir smells like an oriental church sunk in the majestic Iguazu waterfalls, precisely as it is intended to smell.
