Muskara Cacao

Before I give my thoughts on this perfume, I'll have to clarify that I'm really not fond of gourmand fragrances. Yet somehow smelling like a walking pool of rich and decadence chocolate ganache appeals to me. Probably because of how this scent embodies the depth of cacao powder without the added headache inducing, tooth rotting chemical notes. The only added note is the house signature plant pheromone, which I assumed created this musky feel. Therefore prevents this scent from straying away from being a perfume and added a raw depth to your skin. The cacao note in and of itself is a complete fragrance, there are so many facets being presented here. Sticky, earthy, toasty, creamy, dusty and bitter. There's little sweetness to be found, which appeals to my palette. Still, even sweet tooths would be able to appreciate how complex their beloved dessert can be. My only qualm is how this scent isn't edible, and also the price point.

This is photorealistic cocoa powder. It’s not sweet, not cloying, and I don’t detect any other notes. Unlike most of the other cocoa/chocolate fragrances out on the market right now, this doesn’t smell artificial at all. It smells like a high quality natural cocoa powder. Very straightforward good quality fragrance.

I had the chance to try this one at Harrods and it was delicious. Simply, pure and natural cacao. Not too bitter, not too sweet... it was excellent, I would love to afford it. I hope more people will be able to try it, it’s worth it. A beautiful discovery.

Authenticity and quality of the cacao is astonishing and superb. I cannot imagine anything more than this piece of art. I do prefer in the colder seasons but I still wear this in the hot seasons because of the addictive scent!

Smelled the 2026 batch of this and I’m obsessed. My eyes rolled back when I sniffed it.

The opening is great, smells like very realistic chocolates filled with liquor, but after 30 minutes to 1 hour the only thing left is persistent salty, vegetal, musky note, which for me is unpleasant.

There's Quality , then there's actually putting a *fragrance together to make it appealing. This is just high Quality, full on cocoa powder , and yes while it's Rich and deep - where's the Sweetness?? The whole addiction of Chocolate (being an associate partner of a B2B Chocolatier) is the smooth & sweet 'Cocoa liquor' that is when the natural Cocoa butter of the bean melds with the sweetness of sugar: syrupy sweetness that totally lift the whole mixture to a new level. You want the Cocoa intensity but also the sweetness to keep it tasteful. This gives you half the deal , sadly and is too 1-dimensional. I am not rating ''Photorealistic experiments' , I just want I nice, themed scent to wear that has Niche facets that goes a little more deeper into the field than most. My rating: 5/10.

Predominantly a gorgeous cacao powder with that unique fermented natural sweetness, and the intensity not being too bitter. But this also has a more strange earthy side to it, smelling mildly of dirt. I expected something much more sweeter and straight forward before purchasing this, and was initially disappointed, finding it too odd and bitter, yet I've quickly grown to appreciate its complexity, and can see it as being sweet and interesting alongside its quirkiness. I would definitely recommend sampling this before purchasing a full-sized bottle, as it's not your typical chocolate gourmand. This is a gourmand done differently. It smells exactly like the highest quality, most exclusive, dry cacao powder, not cheapo chocolate as in most in the genre. First spray is slightly boozy, like smooth chocolate liqueur, it then dries down to a dusty dry cocoa, so smooth and rich. There's no sweetness, just dark chocolate with a hint of dry spice and woods. I don't find the throw to be huge but with this fragrance that's somewhat superfluous. It won't replace my beloved Gourmand Coquin but it's a work of art in its own right. Very expensive so beware the blind buy.

I’ve smelt my fair share of chocolate perfumes but this takes it to another level completely. This smells exactly like dark chocolate and dark chocolate only. No Vanilla, caramel etc just luxurious and high quality chocolate. Wow

This smells like pure cacao powder. Wow. Like somebody said below, no vanilla, no caramel, just pure cacao powder. I haven’t smelled anything like this before.. If you are looking for that cocoa scent, this is gonna be it!

£360 for just 30ml! Really?? Come on now.... This is getting beyond ridiculous.
