Sudestada

Beautiful fresh scent with lots of herbaceous nuances and lovely citruses. The base is quite earthy I feel like it’s mostly vetiver, but probably it’s just a mixture of tobacco and cedar wood. Another simple natural and devastatingly beautiful masculine woody aromatic scent from Fuegeia 1833. The name Southeast blow refers to an common Argentinian climatic phenomenon of a sudden rotation of cold southern winds to the south-east. The scent opens with a most beautiful Atlas cedar and other woody notes moving to a heart of neroli blossom and fruit. The perfume settles on a powdery base of tobacco and plant based musks. Linear and lovely with moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. Enjoy!

Sudestada EDP. Sudestada is basically a cedarwood soliflore. It shares the same bone-structure as other fragrances such as Tumulte Pour Homme, Wonderwood, Let Me Play The Lion, Gucci Rush For Men and MANY Comme Des Garcons but it replaces the incense included in most of the aforementioned perfumes with a subtle dry-tobacco note during the opening. Neroli is barely perceptible yet, somewhat, necessary to smooth things down and provide some refinements. After the initial accord, all you get is a cedarwood base. If you're into smooth woods, Sudestada smells honestly good. The accord is (again) extremely well played and the quality is there but that's the minimum I expect from such minimalistic deliveries. Now my point is this. I like Sudestada, I really like it but, really, 185 euros for a cedarwood soliflore???? Sudestada would have made a terrific option for anyone looking for a perfectly executed mono-accord scent but, as much as I like packagings, I'm still not able to justify such hefty price-tags for a "basic-wood" composition... Pleasant memories Sudestada brings me the memories of a fragrance family that I've enjoyed throughout the years: the family of Mythical Woods (Profumi del Forte), Black Afgano (Nasomatto), Mina & Amante (Note di Profumum) and a ton of others. It's extremely woody heavy and what Sudestada pulls off nicely is the better balance on the brighter side of the range: a nuance of citrus fruit or citrus flower further in the base (a paradox in itself). I get a facet of unclean licorice too (or mabe it's the tobacco) that ties the cedar-sandal wood profile I've been loving for a long time. Although you might misunderstand this to be the usual "honey-musk" that pretends to be an oud fragrance (as other literally state), with Sudestada you actually get what you'd expect from those but more successfully. It's still "open" enough to be worn during summer evenings more easily than the aformentioned ones. I like wearing this genre during summer evenings because of the cocoa-tonka effect you can bring out but I've worn these much more during winter.
