Angel Dust

Okay, I had to come back to this forum and rewrite a review I posted on Angel Dust Extrait a little over a month ago (had to delete the previous one). In my previous review, I expressed that I was not a fan due to an unrelenting peppery note. I almost sold the bottle until one day changed everything. I figured before selling the full bottle, I’d just give it one more wearing. I walked into the post office and the lady behind the counter reacted to this cologne like I hadn’t seen before. She couldn’t stop saying how good I smelled and telling all of her co-workers. The only other reaction I’ve gotten like that from a cologne was when I shut down a Cracker Barrel wearing Bakkarat Rouge 540 in the early days of it releasing. I have pretty much worn Angel Dust everyday since the post office interaction and have gotten over 10 compliments on my cologne from people I know and complete strangers. Actually, what prompted me to finally rewrite this review was a sweet elderly lady just now at Chipotle saying “Sir, your cologne smells really good”. Mind you, this is after going on a long walk in the heat of the south. I say all of that to say, this stuff hits different when it is on the right body chemistry and it is in the air. You will completely go nose blind to it and it honestly doesn’t even smell all that great when you spray it on. Spells like peppery flowers or something (I’m not good at this cologne description thing). However, it is an easy reach that you can over spray. It’s fun to wear because you never know when the compliment will come, but you have a high percentage of getting the compliment when you wear this. Over this past month, this has become my most complimented fragrance of all time. Who would have known that a cologne I was about to sell would now become my lead horse in the stable. I was recommended to buy this cologne originally after visiting “Refinery Fragrances” in Nashville, TN (check it out if in Nashville, owners are awesome). The shop owner told me it was a “compliment magnet” which is what sold me. Lastly, l barely knew what it actually smelled like due to going nose blind. However, one of my buddies went crazy for this when he was around me and wanted to spray some on himself. After he sprayed himself, that’s the first time I really got to smell it and I understood the hype immediately. Just buy it, wear it, enjoy the reactions.

Sampling Fugazzi Angel Dust Extrait, a 2024 release and follow-up to the 2021 release Angel Dust EDP, though I did not become familiar with the brand until 2024, myself, and hadn’t come across this version until late 2025 at Perfumology, and I recall being more taken by the Extrait than the EDP, with the former as my second favorite from the line after Workaholic. The main notes include dark wood, cashmere, white amber, and pink pepper, with the pepper-and-woods aspect being most prominent with some resins included as well. It has that fine quality of being both pleasant and interesting, familiarly comforting yet not quite a match for something I’ve smelled before, realistic/grounded yet fanciful and elevating, a really nice balance achieved in all of these respects, and where it lands is a versatile fragrance that feels like something that could be worn in all seasons as a signature scent or something special for dressing up a bit. The retail pricing for Angel Dust Extrait is $255/180 for 100/50ml, so not at all uncommon in the current product space, and is sold in the US via great retailers like Perfumology. It feels rich while not being particularly dense or loud. Overall, this is an easy release to love and it makes me inclined to revisit more of the house more closely. 8 out of 10

This one surprised me. At first sniff, I thought it was just okay- lightly sweet and peppery, slightly woody and reminiscent of pencil shavings. I wore this to work and kept getting whiffs of it all day. About six (?) hours into my shift, someone commented on how good I smelled and asked what I was wearing (I love getting compliments so this definitely made me more intrigued). I could still smell it at the end of work, and it was slightly present on my skin at the end of my workout class-- about 12 hours after I initially sprayed it. For whatever reason, the next day I wore it, I fell in LOVE with this scent. It's so airy and ethereal. The sweetness fades over time, but it never becomes harsh or unpleasant. The woodiness now reminds me of the paper used in a good-quality book, but in a delicious fairy way. Its simplicity also means that it layers wonderfully with just about any fragrance. It's reminiscent of the original Glossier You perfume, but in a much more elevated and sophisticated way (plus it lasts 10x longer than You and will linger forever on clothing). It is definitely worth smelling IMO and trying multiple times if you're not immediately drawn to it. I just ordered a full bottle and it will be my daily office scent since it's very inoffensive but still delicious.

When I first tried this I was seriously disappointed. There was nothing "angelic" about it. I found it too masculine, too fougere, and reminiscent of a cheap canned aerosol shaving foam. But something about it grew on me. The smell is addictive. It's kinda euphoric, like a drug. I couldn't get it out of my mind, I needed another hit. And another. Now the name makes perfect sense. Instead of angel dust it should be called "crack". However, the word crack isn't as mass pleasing; and anyone who understands knows that a fragrance's success is highly dependent on strategic marketing. Anyway, I now have both concentrations. Extrait is deeper and sits close to the skin, longer lasting. EDP is more perfumey, aromatic, a bit more juicy, with a bigger throw or silage. It's almost impossible to choose between the two -- depends on if I feel like making a statement (EDP) or not (extrait). Even though the pepper smell is more noticeable in the extrait, the pepper in the EDP makes me sneeze like real pepper. Angel Dust is such an interesting little creation. Some fragrances might dupe this and get close; but I'm afraid absolutely nothing could pull off this exact addictive, euphoria inducing formula.

I can barely smell Fugazzi Angel Dust the OG at all but when sprayed next to the Extrait they are completely different. This is not simply a stronger version of that DNA it has a different vibe altogether so if you love the OG you may not like this at all. I LOVE this fragrance and I wear it most days layered with Xerjoff Casamorati Dama Bianca (sublime) or PDM Valaya Exclusif (IYKYK)or a variety of other things I have in rotation. It’s the cashmere sweater you have worn all the time for years and it always works with everything. I feel myself when I smell it on me throughout the day and it makes me happy. I don’t even think it translates as perfume, it just smells like you. I’m half way through my bottle and I already bought a backup bottle because I can’t live without it it’s so addictive. Btw it’s also gorgeous with Fugazzi NoCologne and Vanilla Haze and Orange Crush. This house is just consistently modern and fun and stylish and I love everything they do.
