BORNTOSTANDOUT® by FUGAZZI

Incoming nerdy reference: In Sailor Moon, you know when the outer senshi announce themselves and the piano starts and rose petals fall from the sky right before their theme starts playing? Well, That’s what this scent reminds me of. In all honesty, it kind of broke my brain. I’ve been on my fragrance journey for a few years now and was pretty settled into vanilla/gourmand adjacent scents. I’ve also been known to immediately be turned off by the notes of leather and tobacco (they seem like such a cop out for men’s fragrances) but this changed everything. I’ve learned that I enjoy the cleanliness rose notes add to things, but in this.. it’s smells fruity and sweet (pomarose ) and with the added spice from the black pepper and the geranium, it’s anything but just a rose. Ah, and the woodiness. I’m all about some cedar, and here along with the akigalawood they make so such a wonderful mid. I have no problem with the leather and tobacco in this dry down. It’s stays so fresh, it’s really a treat the entire journey. I think anyone could wear this and easily pull it off. It’s good in the air and on skin. Do yourself a favor and try it. It’s not a terribly complicated scent, but it’s wonderfully done. Between this and Fugazzi by BORNTOSTANDOUT I’m not sure when I’ll be wearing anything else. From my sampler duo, this was an immediate love, whereas with the other it took me a day or so to really like it, but I bought full bottles of both. And not that it matters, but I got a compliment from a stranger my first time wearing it.

Ordered a sample of this, and the other collab made by BTSO. This one is very fresh and fits within the Fugazzi scent profile. I get a lot of rose and fruitiness in the beginning but it calms down nicely. Very fresh, green, not too spicy, lots of other elements working together. Dry down is also pleasant. Could work in the office. Easy to wear, very versatile. I like wearing it on outdoor activities and also around town. Top 5 in my collection, signature scent worthy. Full bottle purchased.

I cannot stop wearing this. This smells like a smokey, spicy, slightly dirty rose with a hint of sweetness to balance it out and deep woods underneath. It's wearable, animalic nature keeps me coming back to sniff. This baby is an extrait and performs well like one should. I'd say the scent is sultry yet sophisticated. Can be dressed up or down. If you're a leather or tobacco lover, you'll enjoy this. Unisex. I don't wear fragrance for compliments...but this gets me many.

I work at a niche fragrance store, so I spend most of my days really diving deep into fragrances and learning and loving them. This is in my top 5 almost always. A modern masterpiece that can be worn for ANY occasion, I mean ANY its just so versatile. Longevity on my is unfortunaely brief, but its still so gorgeous. I sold our last bottle before I got one for myself and ive been counting my days.

There's just something about this fragrance that, to me, reminds me of being inside an airplane. I mean this in the most positive way possible. Everytime I get a whiff of this I feel like I just sat down in the seat ready to go explore another country

Tobacco and leather sometimes don’t like me and this has both ...I don’t even remember ordering this sample 😳 But. wow. !!this is a scent done wonderfully ❤️ and now want a full bottle

I can say one thing about this fragrance, if you are looking for an amazing rose scent for men, then the search is over. Just bought a bottle.

This collaboration feels like Yin and Yang, perfectly balanced yet oppositional. The mirrored names and contrasting colors on the packaging amplify this duality. I’m not sure if that was the brands’ intention, but it was the first impression I had while testing them. If Fugazzi by BTSO embodies the soft, lighthearted flirty side, then Borntostandout by Fugazzi is its dark, daring counterpart—the sinner to its saint. They are inseparable yet strikingly opposite. This fragrance is an intriguing blend of leather, wood, tobacco, and a boozy rose. It’s deep, smoky, and woody—perfectly unisex, yet slightly masculine. As the amber steps in, it brings a warm, sweet, and spicy touch. Just enough sweetness to add freshness and energy to the deep, mysterious sound. I love the dry down more - passionate, seductive and sexy!

Borntostandout® by Fugazzi is a curious creation. Yes, there is rose, with a slightly creamy, almost lactonic touch, and yes, it leans toward a sugary sweetness. Yet nothing about it feels bright. It carries the crackle of static electricity, like an electric current running through the rose. There is a sharp and unmistakable zing that is hard to place but keeps you coming back. The other notes such as leather, tobacco, pepper, and woods are all in service of elevating the rose, never overshadowing it. This is a rose fragrance through and through, and no other note dares to peek its head. It performs well indoors in warm weather and surprisingly also holds its own in the cold. I enjoy it, though I still find myself preferring Fugazzi, the version made by Borntostandout®.

Desde que olí esto me atrapó. Ya tenia algún rato que no experimentaba ese sentimiento con un perfume, el último fue Reserve Privée de Givenchy. Es un aroma que percibo entre miel, limón, especias y a la misma vez chispeante. Me regalaron un decant de 2 ml después de adquirir Passionfroudh y no pude resistirme, tuve que comprar la botella entera, lástima que solo está la versión de 50 ml. Vale la pena probarlo.

Disappointed by the collab. Boring light rose perfume, all the ingredients that promised to make it interesting are drawn in the classic rose scent. Also tried the other one from the collab which was super stinky to me. I know that the idea was to make the opposing scents, light and heavy. But in my opinion Fugazzi has way more interesting light scents and BTSO has much cooler strong ones. Not worth the hype at all.

Woody, spicy, rose, quite sharp. It's Meh for me. Not bad but also not great. From such an interesting collab I would expect more.

#1197 in my "Tour de Fragrance" You won't get this from the notes but this has an almost lactonic lean to it from a vanilla that comes across like vanilla ice cream. Fugazzi relies pretty frequently on milk and rose in their scents, though God knows why anyone would. Nothing in the notes above or on the Fugazzi site suggests they've used a lactonic here, but if you search by notes on 'milk' and 'rose' this scent pops up. Rose and milkshake is mostly what I'm getting here. It's too old lady feminine for me, so also not something I want to smell on a woman I'm interested in. I'd pass this one by.

on paper this was super nice, fresh, cozy floral, mostly rose scent, a bit spicy with woody undertones, but somehow on my skin there's something weird in the background that's hard to pinpoint, maybe a strong metallic note, and it just ruins it for me. I'm already not a big fan of rose scented perfumes with very few exceptions like Eau de Protection by ELdO, but this one there's just something that just does not work with my skin chemistry

This is a fruity rose, with a round creaminess. Some spice, but well-blended. Someone else mentioned rose milkshake, and I agree.

My encounter with this fragrance wasn’t exactly intentional. I had originally ordered the other release from the Borntostandout® collaboration for a great price — more as a backup purchase — so I was familiar with that specific piece, but not with the brand itself. When this one arrived instead, I decided to give it a proper try, and today marks my first real encounter with it. Ttan_o’s review is absolutely on point. I’d just add that the “zinc-like” nuance you sense throughout the entire journey comes from the Akigalawood, paired beautifully with geranium and pepper — a trio that carries through almost the whole composition Don’t get it wrong: the Akigalawood here isn’t used in a “Bischy” way, even though that note is often considered a Quentin Bisch signature. Maybe that’s why I don’t completely connect with it yet. Personally, I still prefer the other fragrance from this collaboration. That’s not to say this one isn’t interesting — it definitely is — but it’s not a masterpiece in my book. Now I just have to decide whether to keep it or send it back. ★★★☆☆ (2.5–3 / 5)

Hey, if someone's not feeling this fragrance, I get it – everyone's nose is different. But honestly, I think it's awesome! It totally smells like sweet tarts without being too rosy, and I don't get any tobacco or leather at all. It's a super versatile, unisex scent that would be a great addition to anyone's collection.

on paper; green spices everywhere! very masculine. somehow I smell basil and fresh parsley. doesn't smell like perfume, more like a box of spices not unpleasant, bu why would someone even consider smelling like this

smells like metallic-destruction, but it’s still bright & upbeat. it’s literally smells like what CSIRAC by ninajirachi sounds like i honestly don’t know how else to explain it

It is a clean rose fragrance! I don't like Rose but this definitely wouldn't offend.

A signature scent worthy, it's subtle, clean and fresh.
