Vanilla Haze Extrait de Parfum

I am normally not a fan of gourmands or vanilla scents, but I found this one to be quite pleasant. If you also find sweet vanilla scents to be nauseating, you might consider trying this as it's not as intense as others in the sweetness dimension. That being said, I would still personally prefer it slightly less sweet and vanilla. All that being said, I loved the scent b/c it feels super unisex, perhaps bordering on a masculine vanilla. It's definitely got a warm wood spiciness to it at it's opening with a prominent vanilla. It's hard to pick out the lemon here but perhaps the subtle lemon is what makes it less overwhelming as a vanilla scent for me. As it dries down your left with a really sexy musky vanilla that smells like it's been aged in some oak barrels.

This won’t be for everyone, but on me this is a uniquely non-feminine smoky vanilla. It’s not like the EDP, which is sweet and creamy. This is greener and spicier. The performance is great - lasts 4+ hours on me. In the end, others’ reviews are great for helping a decision on what to smell/buy, but what isn’t captured is how it makes you feel - I feel amazing when I wear this. My confidence is boosted, knowing that I smell incredible. Each to their own, but this is in my top 10.

i’ve only been working through a 3ml sample so i hope my opinion will still be the same when i get a full bottle but this is truly of the best vanillas ive tried and possibly my favorite saffron fragrance. it’s done so exceptionally well here. very spicy but takes on an almost airiness that’s present in the original vanilla haze. sweet, spicy, and woody perfection. it’s feels so cozy and warm

Ridiculous, this is so realistic and mouthwatering, its making me hungry.. Love Fugazzi (Edit: not wearing this myself btw, i smelled it on a female)

Stunning sophisticated elegant scent . Mysterious . Not a unique DNA nevertheless 10/10 . Long lasting .

I get the Matiere Premiere Crystal Saffron/Vanilla Powder comparisons. This is a lot softer however, it has an almost buttery note to me on the dry down. To my nose, the coconut isn’t as in your face as it is with vanilla powder but it is there and the smokiness added by the saffron makes it much darker than your standard sweet gourmand. I love all sorts of vanilla and this is a different take to anything I own so I appreciate its uniqueness to me. Not too sweet, buttery smoothness counteracted by the saffron, with decent projection and very good longevity, gives it a deserved place in any vanilla lover’s collection. Do keep sniffing my arm where I sprayed. It’s one of those that draws you back for a closer sniff! I’d say it’s very unisex, if not slightly more ‘male’ leaning and I can see myself wearing this more in the autumn/winter months (especially evenings), although I think you could get away with wearing to work. Arbitrarily scoring it 8/10. Layering it with something sweeter is something I might try in future.

When I think extrait, I think stronger & more intense. But this isn't really the stronger version of Vanilla Haze EDP. If anything, this is a softer, rounder version. I believe it's from the coconut & saffron in this. As the scent dries down, I can smell a little bit of the Vanilla Haze DNA come thru, but it's been declawed. Specifically, it's missing the crunchy bite in the OG that I love -- the part that reminds me of the burnt sugar shell on top of a creme brulee. If I didn't know this was Vanilla Haze Extrait, I would've thought this was a flanker/dupe of Matiere Premier Vanilla Powder (called Vanilla Pudding). Overall, it's ok, but I like the original Vanilla Haze better. And since I have Vanilla Powder as well, I will not be grabbing a full bottle of this.

A less sweet version than the EDP and quieter in its performance. The saffron is the most noticeable, but it’s quite soft. The base reminds me of Matiere Premiere’s Crystal Saffron Extrait, only Vanilla Haze is softer, less dense, and slightly sweeter. These are impressions from skin.

so SO much better and more interesting than the edp. i don't get sweat at all, but a slightly spicy vanilla drying down into sweet wood - very alike to vanilla incense my mom used to love <3

this smells almost exactly like lush’s tumeric latte to me

I’m so disappointed by this. I LOVE the original Vanilla Haze and was debating on buying a full size after my sample size, but saw they released an Extrait. Normally I like extraits better than the original, so I bought a travel size of this Extrait. Upon first spray all I smell is something woody—I don’t know if that’s the hazelnut or saffron maybe? But it’s strong and almost one note. I don’t pick up on lemon at all. After a few minutes it mellows though it’s still there, and I can faintly pick up on coconut and tonka and a lot of vanilla bourbon, maybe a hint of cashmeron. I don’t really smell caramel or clove. It is ok. I wish I would’ve bought the bigger size of the original VH. I probably will still and will try combining it with this Extrait and maybe I’ll like it better.

Vanilla Haze Extract is a mature vanilla. Syrupy, rich, nutty. A little boozy? but not too much. It has a leathery note that I could do without. Is it the cashmeran and saffron? Definitely get the caramel and this does remind me of a salted caramel dessert, but in a cocktail bar. It reminds me of some TF fragrances, and smells like something Mind Games put out, though I can't remember which one. It also is a little bit like By the Fireplace. Evocative of many popular vanillas. Not getting the hate for it because there are more synthetic and worse smelling vanillas with a greater number of positive reviews.

The opening is overwhelming and too spicy, as it dries down I can smell the Vanilla Haze edp in the background, with a lot of spices on top. I feel this one leans masculine, it's like a male version of Vanilla Haze edp. It's not bad, but I don't think it's for me, I would rather smell it on a man. Maybe I'll try to layer it with the edp version🤷

Not for me... overly sweet and synthetic. There’s at least some depth during the dry down, it brings in some more of the caramel, spices, and nuttiness, but I really can’t get past the bath and bodyworks-esque feeling. I think there are better, more unique options in this scent profile for the same price or cheaper.

this is a non-spicy version of babycat in some ways...it's the musky vanilla saffron scent profile. not bad at all, but definitely not something i'd reach for outside of late fall/winter. probably not my fave from this house, but not a stunner in the way i would like :( very unisex though!

I smell the potential. The dry down (after several hours) is nice, but golly, the saffron is so overpowering in this fragrance, it just overwhelms the rest of the notes. So strangely, it becomes quite a linear profile. Shame really.

Safreleine with vanillin and cashmeran, probably eugenol. Feels like the top notes are not present and the fragrance kinda starts at the heart to the base. No lemon, hazelnut, or lemon. A very safe and basic vanilla fragrance

This one smells like straight up propolis/bee glue. It's identical. If you like something like that, this one is perfect for you. If you don't, stay away

the opening is too spicy and masculine leaning for my taste. it dries down to a mixture of angel dust and tribeca (minus the piss) which is pleasant.

😭 I didn't know the Extrait was not Vanilla Haze, so I bought a 8 ml. When it arrived I was so happy, because I love the warm, (not too) sweet, cosy Vanilla Haze and my tester was empty for a few days. I sprayed it on and.. ieuwhg.. what?! This was'nt Vanilla Haze at all! A strong manly smell came into my nose.. it was terrible.. and that was the moment I found out there is Vanilla Haze and Vanilla Haze extrait.. 🙈🙈 my own fault 🙈🙈 Vanilla Haze Extrait is totally different than Vanilla Haze. It's strong, Arabic, manly. What a great disappointment it was for me. Vanilla Haze extrait is very long lasting though 😅

i got an 8ml of this in the cult beauty xmas set , thinking it was the OG ( i really don't mind - 4 perfumes for £21 is such a steal for me and i'm still happy to have tried it ) but , yeah , no . it's not bad , just too spicy and masculine for me and just doesn 't sit well on my skin . too heavy and woody . HOWEVER - the longevity and silage is fantastic ! i sprayed it at night and could still smell it when i woke up , 14 hours later , and had to scrub it in the shower to get it off of me

Unfortunately I do not like this. It gave me the biggest headache the first time I wore it. I cannot fault it's longevity and projection though - you could easily smell it 6 feet away. It opens with a warm caramel and is quite pleasant for about 20 minutes, but it dries down smelling like smokey bourbon. I couldn't bear it once it had dried unfortunately. It pulls quite masculine on me.

I don't like it. I like the parfum far better. This is like Crystal Saffron from Matiere Premiere with some added not very prominent sweetness. After a while it literally turned sour on me. I resold my small decant already. Not particularily strong and no impressive sillage.

I love the EDP, however the Extrait smells like tires to me. There are a couple other spicy/woody vanillas that I experience this with, including Babycat.

I have a tiny sample of the original edp and quite like it. It is very similar to Bianco Latte, but maybe a bit softer. I saw the extrait in store, sprayed it on my arm, regretted it. The extrait is nothing like the original edp... It is strong to the point of being really offensive to my nostrils, clove and coumarine are definitely overdosed, no vanilla, coconut, hazelnut, probably some synthetic saffron. This fragrance smells unpleasantly synthetic and cheap. I do not know why they have a nice edp and they wanted to issue a so nasty version of it. Absolutely do not blind buy this.

this is pretty bad, I barely get any vanilla from it at all, only after some time on the dry down it comes out a little but even then it's just a very generic gourmand base that is hyper synthetic, it's like if you took what perfumers use to make a gourmand and stripped out all the main notes. the dry down over time gets way too spicy and the cashmere comes out even more which just makes my nose itch. I like the EDP a bit better than this but it's still not great overall

I don’t know if there was something wrong with the sample bottle I got, but I almost universally love spicy vanilla scents and I hated this. To me, this perfume smells like a very stressed hormonal teenage boy who hasn’t showered in about three days. Sweaty, musky, with a sharp edge of cortisol. I regretted spraying it in my bedroom where it might linger.

I am a vanilla lover but this is a no for me. It is very different from the edp and not pleasing

This was a huge disappointment to me as the notes looked like something I’d really enjoy. The clove and saffron plays too loud on my skin to the point where I can barely detect any of the sweetness or musk. I am from Essex, UK, and there is a stately home near where I live called Kentwell Hall, which hosts Tudor reenactments. We used to go there all the time on school trips / days out and whilst I have really happy memories there, this really reminds me of the pungent smell of Tudor cooking over a wooden fire. The spices and woody notes are overbearing and it just makes me think of old men smoking on pipes in a Tudor inn! An interesting memory - but not one I want to smell like! This is a hard pass for me.

Fragrantica is a place where we can all share our opinions, and this is simply my review of the scent. I didn’t call it “generic,” but rather “just another vanilla.” To me, Vanilla Haze feels generic in the sense that it’s essentially a dupe of Bianco Latte: It doesn’t really add or bring anything new, it just duplicates. Of course, if you enjoy it, that’s valid but for me, Kayali 28 and Phlur Vanilla Skin ( bianco latte and millions of other vanillas) are just as nice, just as potent, and come at a fraction of the price. I just don’t think it’s necessary to pay the $170+ that Fugazzi is asking. As I said, it’s just another vanilla nothing more, nothing less, nothing more interesting. That's all.

I got a sample from the brand who were offering them free, well if you paid postage. First impressions, it’s deeper and sweeter and warmer than the original, and is very similar to Matiere Premiere Vanilla Powder Extrait which I tested this afternoon in Selfridges. It has a high concentration of oils, leaving a film on my skin. I love vanilla so the more the better, and I’m not bored. Glad Fugazzi do a travel size as that is my preferred format, as I will never in this life get through 100ml of any but my absolute favourites, and £35 or so for 8ml is a lot more affordable than £225 for 50ml of the MPVPE. Ed to add: to my nose, this does not smell at all like Bianco Latte, and nor does the OG.

This is just another vanilla, vaguely reminiscent of all the millions vanilla that already exist. Vanilla Haze was already a dupe of Bianco Latte, and this one also lacks any real personality. For me, $175+ isn’t what I’d pay for a linear vanilla gourmand, especially knowing you can find a similar scent profile for under $100 like Vanilla 28. These days you can even get excellent complex body mists, like Phlur Vanilla Skin, for under $30. I love a good gourmand-adjacent fragrance, but when that’s all it offers, it ends up smelling a little cheap almost like a Christmas candle from Home Depot. And do I really want to smell like a home depot seasonal candle? Probably not.

This fragrance surprised me, as I expected a typical sweet gourmand. This opens with a creamy vanilla note, but very quickly the saffron comes to the forefront and stays dominant throughout the wear. Only after a few hours, alongside the saffron, do I start to pick up tonka and cashmeran with a touch of vanilla and caramelised sugar. Unfortunately, I can’t detect any coconut, hazelnut or clove. Saffron is definitely the leading note here, much like in MFK BR540, MP Crystal Saffron or Oud for Greatness by Initio. Longevity and projection are very good; the scent wraps around you and fills the space. Definitely on my wish list now.

It absolutely does not smell like Bianco Latte. However, I DO get the comparison to mixing Matiere's Crystal Saffron + Vanilla Powder. I wasn't impressed on initial spray, but the drydown of this one really sticks for me. Though it's still somewhat basic, it really projected into the air for me. I could see this one garnering compliments in public as it trails behind you. I personally prefer the Vanilla Hazes over the Angel Dusts. Will need to wear again side-by-side with the non-intense and update this review!

This is my first Fugazzi fragrance. I’ve never smelt the original Vanilla Haze, but this one is something else. When I smelt it for the first time my face lit up. Sounds dramatic, but it’s true. It has a very clean, but warm, and inviting feel. A nice unisex, leaning feminine. Perhaps a performative man would wear this! Was this worth $210, no. However, I got it from my local niche fragrance store, and supporting them made it worth it. Definitely going to be getting my use out of this one.

Kind of gives me babycat vibes but less peppery. Kind of gives me a more green type vanilla vibe with very, very subtle coconut. I don't hate it but that could be because it also reminds me of driving through the green hills in California when I was little. Doesn't really smell spicey to me at all. I'm not too sure what saffron smells like but after attempting to google it, maybe that note is why my brain is associating it with babycat.

I literally cannot emphasise enough how much this does not smell like Bianco Latte. I just put a couple of sprays of each on my arms to compare them. There’s a caramelised element to the Vanilla Haze Extrait and it’s much drier and less sweet than Bianco Latte. There’s a lot more going on in the VHE and it’s far from being a generic vanilla - it smells nothing like Tihota or Escapade Gourmand for example.

I agree with all of the comparisons to crystal saffron, smells just like that, but if you were to add a vanilla note to that fragrance. I don’t necessarily think it smells like vanilla powder mixed with crystal saffron because to me, vanilla powder has a very prominent coconut note, even more so than the vanilla and I do not get any coconut in this (even though it’s the first note listed).

In one of my other Fugazzi reviews I jokingly questiones whether they were a dupe brand, well after receiving this one I can only say that they must be. It just can't be a coincidence?! This one is Vanilla Powder with Crystal Saffron rolled into one. One spray on a card and the whole room smells like it for hours. I’m scared to put it on skin 😆. Will report back if I find the courage 🤣

“Generic vanilla” just stop. I absolutely love this line, I’m sorry it’s not so different for you, some of us like this line of vanilla, it’s very gourmand yet not icky, it’s lovely. And it’s fine if it’s not for you. Kayali vanilla 28 is actually more of an amber brown sugar & Phlur is a spicy vanilla, both I enjoy but vanilla haze is different.

I don't remember OG Vanilla Haze being this harsh. This version has a lot of coconut, cloves, heavy musk, something like ambroxan, cashmeran....and just a little vanilla. Under a ton of synthetic mess you might find a little bit of vanilla. Beware. This is heavily synthetic and harsh like a hammer to the sinuses.

Hard to wear. The saffron is SO STRONG. Sillage and longevity are top notch, but only the next day did I enjoy this as a whole. Just too much saffron. The Vanilla Haze original is too similar to other sweeties, so I prefer to wear 1 shot of this under about 3 of VH.

Horrible. They have blended in all the wrong enhacers in this just for the sake of making it stronger. It just crashes and comes off hars, synthetic and cheap. The original scent plays in the background but is pushed away by a cheap saffron, ambroxan and musk. 👎👎

the opening here is vanilla with a heavy dose of saffron that ends up smelling like plastic in this ensemble of notes, and i am not a fan. fortunately, it dries out and it starts to smell decent. a vanilla for the beige unsweetened minimalist.

Ugh this is a love for me! I like the original too but this is such a good spicy vanilla. I’m thinking date night perfume but I’m the type of woman who will wear this daytime 10/10

First impression: sour milk mixed with vanilla with my skin. Someone earlier said stressed out teenage hormones cortisol vibe and that's funny but they are right! 💀

I get caramel, incense and saffron. I don’t see an incense note, but there is definitely something in here that’s coming off like incense

this one smells a bit ehh ngl. kinda has that walking into bath and body works smell where its too strong it gives you a headache.
