Blue Ridge

While this is definitely woody, I was surprised to learn it was specifically sandalwood. The color I get from sandalwood is a periwinkle or powder blue. I did get that for a moment, but then the fragrance changed to warmer pine green-brown which must be the sage. While it's not a powerful fragrance, it is (briefly) a bit heavy as opposed to fresh or citrusy. However, it's also vaguely herbal and soapy, so it edges more toward clean than indolic. It's pleasant and smoothly blended. I could see this working for people who want a soft but warm, masculine, outdoorsy scent.

This type of fragrance will work for the person who feels they need to wear cologne somewhere like a church, a theater, or on an airplane. It's not going to offend or annoy anyone and you can control exactly how much you put on, and you will never put on too much. That being said, I love the smell of Blue Ridge!! Unfortunately for me, though, it irritates my neck skin and makes me itch.

Tried this scent from Fulton & Roark's sample set. The scent is mild, clean, smooth and intimate. Lasted about 4 hours or so. Most prominent sent was sage blended nicely with an amber scent. Really couldn't catch a woody fragrance, but the sage was surprisingly nice and earthy. Would be a nice fall day fragrance.

Blue Ridge smells familiar to scents you may already know or love, but the solid wax form makes this melt into your skin and develop so much differently than other scents on the market. It is aquatic, aromatic and so fresh!! This to me smells like a millionaire fresh out of the shower at 5am. It does lean masculine but this can always be layered to amplify certain accords if you wanted to soften it and make it more feminine.
