Calle Ocho

Calle Ocho will just do it for me every single time. If you are a fan of fragrances that are incense-y, boozy and are a seductive nighttime vibe, then this is your fragrance. It isn't overly gourmand, however that aspect is still there which adds to the richness and depth of the fragrance. I find that the boozy nature of this fragrance is the most prominent thing you will be smelling. It is also somewhat creamy, which is thanks to the Tonka bean and sandalwood. It is also complemented nicely by tobacco, however, it doesn't smell overly strong of tobacco, so don't be scared by that. If you look at the notes, you may think that you have something in your collection similar to it (maybe such as Angel's Share from Kilian), however, when you actually smell it, you will realize it is not like anything that you have already. It is definitely a strong scent that projects well and would be great for a night out. It is very cozy yet sensual. In my opinion, it is Fulton & Roark's best scent.

This is genuinely one of the best perfumes I've had the pleasure of smelling. You get a photorealistic spiced rum at the top that slowly develops into an ambery sandalwood. It’s warm, rich, and addictive, but not at all overwhelming or headache inducing (which is a problem I often have with gourmand-like scents). I was also impressed by its versatility - I would not say this fragrance is season specific. Its coziness would lend well not only to a cold winters day, but also a summer night out with friends. And it’s an extrait de Parfum, meaning you won’t have to reapply throughout the wear. I would say this is a safe blind-buy for most, but definitely get your hands on a sample if you’re unsure.

As it settles, the night-blooming jasmine and tobacco emerge, adding a sophisticated touch that feels both elegant and intriguing. I love how it transforms throughout the day, becoming softer and warmer with notes of tonka bean, sandalwood, and musk. Calle Ocho makes me feel confident and cozy, perfect for any occasion. It’s a fragrance that lingers beautifully, leaving me wrapped in its warmth long after I’ve left the room. This is definitely a scent I’ll reach for again and again.

Calle Ocho is warm, spicy, and a little boozy right off the bat, with cinnamon and rum standing out. As it dries down, it gets sweeter and smoother with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and a soft tobacco vibe. It’s cozy, slightly sexy, and perfect for nights out or cooler weather. Not super fresh, more of a warm, comforting scent that lingers nicely without being too loud. Overall: Sweet, spicy, and smooth with a cozy, grown vibe. Oh, and I’m buying a second bottle. CONS: The only thing that I didn’t like was the atomizer, it’s like the Le Labo’s, it shoots a stream of fragrance.

Ohhhh Calle Ocho! I haven’t been this In love & obsessed with a fragrance in a long time! I smell like boozy, sexy apple pie. It’s addicting! I love that I only need 2-3 sprays in the morning and I can still smell her in the evening. I see the comparison to angels share, but to me, only on the initial spray. Angel share quickly drys down to a powdery almost old lady smell. On me anyway. Only tested her once but was a scrubber for me. Calle ocho is definitely 2nd bottle worthy! Trying to make mine last. Definitely a cooler weather or nighttime fragrance. In my opinion.

Such a great one- rich, chocolatey rum, but not too gourmand. I dont think I've smelled anything super similar to this and I've smelled a LOT of fragrances. The chocolate/rum/tobacco combo seems like it might have been done before, but not like this. Definitely sexy but still wearable for everyday. I honestly think the ideal time to wear this would be on a summer night- dining outside and going out for drinks after kinda vibe. Love it!

If I had a full bottle of angels share, I would finish it and replace it with this. As someone who loves florals, I appreciate what night blooming Jasmine brings to this DNA. I also feel the Tonka is more almond leaning and less vanillic here. Without nitpicking, side by side these are very similar with the simple perception that CO is just nicer... this wins the AS, Oajan, Sugar Leather, etc battle for me.

Bought a sample and want a full bottle for fall/winter. The cinnamon, boozy, slight amber, sweet from chocolate, and some tobacco are so good. Lasts ~12 hours on my skin. Unisex. The only problem is it is kinda pricey, $205 for 50 ml ext.dp. But buying a full bottle for winter.

The cinnamon and booziness comes through, it's sweet, but not in a gourmand headache cheap way. I really like it, but I totally see the scooby snack fruit gummy comparison lol.

A beautiful cinnamon spicy sweetness, dark and alluring throughout. Much better sillage than many other Fulton & Roarke scents.

Calle Ocho is my first sampling of Fulton & Roark, a company perhaps better known for its sold perfumes, who launched an extrait collection in 2023, with Calle Ocho being one of the more recent solid perfume releases from 2022, described as a “mélange of rum, tobacco, and sandalwood.” It’s boozy, spicy, sweet, and woody, and seems like a great option for cooler weather that could nonetheless be pulled off on a summer night, a sort of classy, modern men’s scent that fits in with a lot of the boozy and/or tobacco-centric scents that have been released in abundance in recent years, and it’s a good quality scent that suggests that care was put in beyond the basic successful formula that’s played out in both the designer and niche realm. That said, it does not offer something terribly new, nor complete, but is nonetheless a very good offering, not excessively sweet or spicy but something in between, with vague reference to Burberry London, Atelier Cologne Tobacco Nuit, and even the honeyed By Kilian Back to Black. The extrait version is $205 for 50ml, so not terrible but not hugely enticing pricing, though the fragrance does perform well and I like the pared-down presentation also. 7 out of 10

This was my favorite scent in the 5-piece F & R discovery set I received, and it sticks to clothing for days. It smells like a warm, homemade apple cinnamon beverage without being too sweet or cloying, although it kinda verges into "fancy autumnal potpourri at an upscale boutique" territory. With that being said, I still enjoy it enough that recently ordered the more budget-friendly Cocktail Intense by Fragrance World. A lot of people compare Calle Ocho to Angel's Share, and Cocktail Intense is supposed to be quite similar to the latter. (Most of F & R's scents don't seem to be anything truly original; they're just slight variations of already popular designer fragrances.) *Update: I received Cocktail Intense in the mail today, and it smells almost identical to Calle Ocho after it dries down. If anything, the cinnamon note isn't quite as intense, so I prefer it.

I was intrigued by this company as I usually reach for more unisex-male leaning scents. I wasn't expecting to get my socks knocked off, and this scent (the first I've tried) didn't blow me away by any means, but it's nice! It opens with a blast of amber, almost fruity, and as it dries down it settles into a musky ambery cinnamon. It's very sweet and spicy -- it reminds me of wandering the streets of a city near the equator after dark. It sits very close to my skin. This fragrance has a nice evolution as it dries down, and I find it very pleasant. It's not particularly complex and that's fine with me! I probably won't be getting a full size, but I'll gladly use up my tester and see if my opinion changes.

Imagine my disappointment when I sprayed this and went, "oh, it's just Angels' Share!"... I already own Angels' Share and having Calle Ocho would be redundant. I'd say pick your favorite but they're nearly identical. So... pick the one you want to pay for. I was hoping with the hype Calle Ocho gets that it would be something different and unique but alas... In case you need a summary - boozy, cinnamon, apple cidery, sweet, spicy, cozy, autumnal.

This scent is just so alluring, I find myself wanting to breathe it in again and again! It's very nice and boozy and is sweeter than I thought it would be, though it stays far away from being sickly sweet/synthetically saccharine/headache-inducing! I will purchase a full-size bottle, as I got a sample for Christmas as a little treat for myself. I find the scent intimate and fairly long-lasting.

Calle Ocho Extrait is the best F&R scent so far for myself. I just love it. Though it is overpriced for what it is. For what they charge it should be 100ml. Needless to say it's a spicy, chocolate gourmand, tobacco boozy scent. In the same realm of Beaufort London Iron Duke ( excellent scent)

Save yourself some $$$ and buy Bath & Body Work's Inner Angel for a small fraction of the price instead. :) @jeannebelmondo hit the nail on the head. It's crazy how F & R is essentially a dupe house that is just as expensive, if not more expensive, than the fragrances it copies.

It's lovely and sweet. The tobacco and musk give it a savory undertone that might clash for some but I think works very well together. I could see this being a very good "going out" fragrance. Reminds me of walking through Tampa's historic Ybor City and passing by a panaderia.

I don't understand the concept of this brand. A dupe brand that dupes popular fragrances at Sephora and department stores for the same price? Actually more if you consider most of the originals can be found for cheaper on the gray market? Why? Who is this for?

I got this in a sampler box, and to me it kind of smells like mulled wine. The cinnamon is strong in a nice way, but it's fruitier than I thought it would be. It's not for me, but it isn't offensive. It smells a bit like fall candle.

Smells like a fresh apple pie to me, which is strange as apple is absent from the scent notes. Either way, it is a very pleasant scent and would recommend it.

Warm, fruity cocoa -- bright and deep at the same time, fresh AND dried fruit. Slightly funky. It reminds me of Byredo's Pulp. My husband also liked it.

Spicy, sexy, boozy. This one is too much for the warmer months, but come fall it will be perfect. It does remind me of AS.

Literally an overpriced Angels' Share dupe. Just buy the original.

This is a really nice unisex gourmand scent, but for me it was pretty generic and forgettable. I spayed my skin, dress, and hair and the scent faded pretty quickly for me, turning into a skin scent 2-3 hours into wear. The cinnamon and chocolate notes with light floral and woods were the only scents I could pick out. I did not get tobacco or coffee notes and the boozy notes were muted in comparison to By Kilian Angel’s Share. This is like AS shy cousin. Overall a nice scent, but far too expensive for the longevity and lack of uniqueness.

All I get is screaming cinnamon at first, which I’m not a fan of. After that fades, it’s lovely. The tonka is prominent and it does indeed smell a lot like Angel’s Share once it dries down... but you’re going to have to wait hours for that intense cinnamon to fade. Not worth the wait, I’ll go with Angel’s Share.

Smells like what I think the 70’s must have smelled like. Sweet and musky. Not my favorite. Weird clash of scent.

Indistinguishable from Kilian's Angels' Share. No difference whatsoever. Just get that instead of this.

It's way too thick for my taste

This is definitely fruitier than I expected, and I agree that it smells like mulled wine. There's a spiced, stewed plum sensibility about it. I imagine that the tobacco is that sort of heavy, sticky, fleshy tobacco, rather than dried leaves. More like a chewing tobacco. I don't automatically thing "rum" when I smell this, but maybe a dark, spiced rum. This is definitely not for me. It's a little sticky sweet, something like what I imagine a dried plum would be like. The sweetness itself is sticky, like it sticks in your nose. I'd give this one a skip. 4/10.

This smells nice enough but it’s another uninspired lower quality clone of angels share. Sheesh, just no shame in these releases. It’s fine to be inspired and to add a creative twist to a dna or to openly convey that it’s an impression of a preexisting scent but to release it on your own and claim it as original is just in poor taste.

I found it too sweet for my taste, but it is a well-constructed perfume, the notes of chocolate and cinnamon stand out along with Whiskey.

my hottest hot take is that apples belong in their virgin form and they shouldn't be corrupted into anything else, especially not anything served warm. so every year when my sister makes an apple pie around thanksgiving time i hide out in my room for the next two days because the lingering odor of warm apple makes me literally gag. similarly to Angels' Share, don't be fooled by the absence of apple in the notes, it smells like warm apple pie.

Smells exactly like the Peculiar Purple Pie Man from Strawberry Shortcake - toys from the 80s.I was not expecting this at all. Boozy, sweet, plastic, Purple Pie Man that is all I can say, I don't want to smell like this.

I have seen Fulton & Roark products sold before in specialty men’s shops and I’ve always been impressed with their quality and presentation. They carry solid, oil and liquid fragrance, deodorant and bar soap in 13 fragrances. The solids fragrances come in a heavy, metal container that you can replace the scents out in. Here’s the fragrances of theirs I’ve tried: Sterling solid fragrance with notes of tobacco, leather and vanilla - This starts off smelling like a sort of campfire ash, not an active fire but you can smell a hint of the embers hanging around. It’s dense and I’m not getting any sweetness from the vanilla. But in the drydown I smell an antique, worn-in leather couch with a man cutting a cigar on it. It becomes a sweet tobacco scent but not a burnt one and the vanilla came out more. This one is largely a skin scent. Lost Man solid fragrance with notes of Virginia cedar and clary sage - This is a sporty, fresh after shave scent. I clearly get both the cedar and sage. It’s a breath of fresh air in the morning standing outside of your cabin in the woods. It didn’t develop on my skin but is a BEAST mode performer. A very attractive man wears this! Calle Ocho liquid EDP with notes of rum, tobacco and sandalwood - THIS IS THE ONE TO GET!!! It starts off a yummy horchata, spicy, creamy, slightly lactonic, sweet. I get clove and cinnamon and brown sugar. This is a gourmand lover’s dream! In the drydown it smells exactly like Snif Crumb Couture, a croissant scent with some baking spices. It’s a beast performer, too. My absolute dream perfume!!

Calle Ocho quickly became one of my favorite scents if not my favorite. Every time I wear this EDP Calle Ocho by Fulton & Roark I get compliments because it’s that good! It is such a warm and unique scent.The notes of jasmine and cinnamon, sandalwood & musk make this scent highly intoxicating & makes me smell like a million bucks! This scent makes people take notice & the projecting and longevity ability is insane! It makes people say: “you smell so good, what are you wearing?” I’m obsessed.

Spicy, sweet musk. I (female) got a sample of this scent in a discovery set and went to order it immediately after trying the sample. Much to my dismay, it was sold out. I checked a few weeks later and it was back in stock, I ordered immediately. This scent is so nice. More for fall/winter but I just got my full bottle so I am wearing it on an April, cooler rainy day just to wear it. I love this fragrance and my super picky daughter says she loves it too!

Not a review I haven't smelled this but as a cuban-american whose lived in miami my entire life, I'm slightly offended by this. Where is the coffee?! There would be 2 main ingredients to a fragrance named Calle Ocho. Tobacco and coffee. Ball dropped. Aside from that everyone says this smells exactly like angel's share. Why bother making this other than to try and snach up some Killian money for themselves?

This is a beautiful warm, spicy scent. I don't get much chocolate. I usually don't love fragrances with spice/tobacco/rum because they tend to be too smoky/bitter/masculine, or they smell like a christmas candle. But this one has none of those qualitites. It's just sweet enough where the spice is very wearable for women. This is well blended and likeable even for people who do not like spicy scents.

If you like Angels Share, then you should definitely check out Calle Ocho! The first time I tried Calle Ocho it surprised me how similar it was to Angels Share but it’s a deeper, much richer version. I think the added dark chocolate and tobacco give it more depth and body than Angels Share. Calle Ocho lasts allllllll day too!! I put this on one morning and it was still going *strong* by that night.

ok I love it, but idk why it reminds me of the smell of scooby doo fruit snacks. I definitely get the cinnamon and bitter chocolate. It is also boozy. It is sweet. It’s subtly floral. And I guess that combination weirdly resembles that specific fruit snack to me😂 super wearable though, and I feel like for the fall it’s a nice spicy sweet fragrance without the heaviness

all i can say about this is that this is angels share but better. i think this is a more mass appealing version of angels share tbh. its blended more smoothly and doesnt have that harsh "spice" kick you get from AS's opening. this is my fav scent profile and i own multiple different fragrances that smell like this and this is definitely in my top 3 now.

This is such a sweet and sexy. Smooth Fragrance! You get a sweet, cinnamon, boozy texture and it is just an amazing fragrance overall! This is ideal for nighttime and special occasions, but honestly you can wear it anytime as well! It smells so good out in the air and coming off of your skin I highly highly highly recommend getting a bottle

I’ve never smelled angels share because of how hyped it is which is a really stupid reason to not try something but if this is close then it’s beautiful. I’m getting sweet cinnamon musk. Heavy cinnamon. Reminds me of Christmas as soon as I smelled it. I don’t get any other notes just very sweet cinnamon.

This fragrance is so sultry and mysterious. I definitely picture this as a summer night time scent. On me, I mostly get the rum and cinnamon with some musk but I love the way it smells. Has a good longevity as well probably 6-8 hours on me. Projects very well. Definitely my favorite by Fulton and Roark.
