Ghost Trees

This is by FAR my favorite of the samples I got from Fulton & Rourke. It's fantastic, but it only lasts a couple of hours and it's >$200 for a bottle. I'd spray it on everything if I could. I've even come close to talking myself into the price before, but it's been sold out on their website for over a year. It has all of the notes I love without the artificial powderiness that I care less for. The pink pepper is quite strong, which I like, and the driftwood hangs around pleasantly after the other scents evaporate. It's also one of very few scents I've found that is truly unisex; usually "unisex" scents lean more masculine to me. There's something in this that smells like the Canvas room spray from Target in a nice way.

Love at first sniff. Blind bought this as I have a fondness of ghost trees, and a shopping problem. From some of the other F&R reviews I’ve seen, there is a common theme where one batch has great projection, and the next is more of a skin scent— well I got the skin scent batch here. But my God this stuff smells amazing. Without looking too heavily at the notes before I bought it I put an idea in my head of what I wanted it to smell like, and it was this fragrance. I already want to buy a backup bottle. I don’t care about the projection (forgot to mention that the longevity is awesome, like 8-10 hours awesome) as I appreciate the smell so much. 9.3/10 final rating.

This is one of my favorite "ocean" scents. It smells great with marine notes, cypress, pink pepper, drift wood, and a distant general floral smell. It smells like camping at the beach in California, where you don't really get algae, myrtle or all the other stuff Mediterranean fragrances get. The downside is that its a linear dry down, the notes you smell at the ten minute mark are the same ones you'll smell after six hours. Projection on these notes is strong, though the pink pepper does dominate the first 30 minutes. Ultimately its up to you whether the linear, albeit unique, scent is worth the 50ml for $205 price tag, for me it is.

This is a gem. It’s unique yet it reminds you of something pleasant from the past but you just can’t quite figure out what it is. Very fresh, yet sweet and airy. Reminds me of summers when I was a child. Lasts me basically all day. I would say It definitely leans more towards masculine, however i would love to smell this in a woman as well. A little pricey for what it is, but it’s very unique so I would pay the price tag any day.

Fantastic and unique opening (almost like Glossier You, but with salt and wood notes). Unfortunately, on my skin, it turns almost into an overwhelming neroli scent after an hour.

Ghost Trees is a simplistic oceanic/river fragrance in all the best ways. It smells like the really focused in getting the few notes used perfect rather then covering up issues or imperfections in these notes by adding others. The opening is a juniper blast with a bit of pepper and the driftwood. I’ve never smelled a driftwood note before but there is a muted dry woody note with notes of river water in it on the opening that I can only imagine is the driftwood note. These notes are supported by a salty ocean background that’s also extremely pleasant. The performance on Ghost Trees was a slight letdown as it just didn’t project well or last long. On the longevity side I got 5 hours on my skin and 3 to 4 on my clothing. A 5/10 for longevity. The projection was extremely low but the entire time besides the very first minutes of wear. It was a skin scent throughout, never rising more then an inch or two from my skin. A 3/10 for projection. Ghost Trees is a 6/10 overall from me. I really really enjoyed the way that it smelled & the care that seems to have gone into picking and parring the notes. It is unfortunately just held back by lackluster performance in both regards.

I like this. This isn't a brand/house that seems to get much social media attention but i discovered it in an ad and bought a sample pack (end up buying a bottle ghost trees). Nothing crazy or ground breaking here but it seems high quality ( but still overpriced) and I think the scent created perfectly evokes the concept. I like how this is a different take on a "tropical" marine fragrance that leans into woods and earth along with the marine aspects and shys away from the usual coconut/fruity vibe most in this space have.

This seemed interesting so I tried a sample. After spraying on skin it opened with a BLAST of pure salt but after a minute or so it calmed down and turned into a very nice scent. I could still smell the salt, but it was more in the way that you can smell the salt water on a sea breeze. The rest of it was very woody and aquatic, it definitely reminded me of a day at the beach. F&R are still very overpriced for full bottles in my opinion, but this is a very nice fragrance.

This one is very enjoyable. Aquatic, fresh, clean and dries down to a salty wood. This is also one of their longer lasting scents.

It’s okay - inoffensive, too safe and forgettable unfortunately. I had high hopes for this one considering it would have some type of twist for a marine/aquatic scent but no..

Grassy vetiver and sandalwood, sharp juniper, lots of salty pink pepper. This one is very similar to MM When the Rain Stops.

Pleasant marine/conifer notes in the opening, but it dries down musky and almost like laundry to me.

I was so excited for this as it sounded very interesting. It literally just smells like generic cologne. The only interesting thing was that the first sniff smelled like photorealistic black pepper. But then that goes away and it's just sweet aquatic cheap cologne.

I wanted to love this but I need to accept that I simply cannot wear marine scents. I sprayed it on and the first thing I smelled was— bleach? I don’t understand it but it burned my nose, and I didn’t like it. The only thing I can think of is the bleach smell came from the salt (since both have chloride)- but idk it just did not smell good on me. The whole time I just felt like I took a dip in bleach

I wanted to dislike this because I felt that it was overpriced (i still think it is) but honestly it’s quite lovely, if not rather familiar. At first I was a bit anosmic to it and I just got a general woody musky light cologne scent, a touch aquatic maybe. But the dry down — kind of salty ambery blonde wood aquatic slightly sweet — is really quite nice, even if it’s familiar. A bit reminiscent of the dry of 11 11 but less powdery maybe and more aquatic. I will eventually buy this although the price is steep for the product. It doesn’t smell cheap by any means but it also doesn’t smell like a high end perfume house. It should be priced about 1/2 the price like a Lake & Skye fragrance I’d say.

At first spray you are smacked with masculine ocean and woods. When it dries down it becomes a unisex soft addictive woody floral. It’s nice and beast mode but not sure about the price point.

Fulton & Roark is an overpriced clone house (I've tried them all) but this looks interesting. Hopefully it's original and better quality

It's way more aquatic than I was hoping for but really it's lovely
