Ramble

Niche clone house lacking original creations. Since it is a pattern with this brand, I'm guessing the perfumers are instructed to make scents similar to popular fragrances. However, there's a saving grace. This is the closest I've smelled to the discontinued and very expensive Https Bond. So if you're dying to try that one, this will get you there in style. These will (hopefully) end up on the gray market eventually because nobody buys them (at least in my city) so I think if you can find it discounted, it's worth it to own if you're not already tired of aventus. The pomelo, pine and lavender is a twist on the aventus blueprint. I'm enjoying my decant and wouldn't mind a full bottle. ---------------------------------- Scent 90/100 Perfomance 75/100

Ramble is one of my favourite fragrances from Fulton & Roark. If you love smelling like trees and the outdoors, this is a great pick for you. It opens slightly spicy and peppery but settles into an earthy scent that really reminds me of being in a forest full of pine trees. It is definitely unisex and anyone could wear this. I think this is a good scent for all times of year, because it reminds me of Christmas, but also reminds me of when plants are starting to grow again during warmer months. I find the patchouli helps the fragrance last longer too, but it isn't overwhelming as you can still smell the other notes, especially the balsam.

This fragrance inspired me to get the full discovery kit from this house. It's a pretty spectacular forest smell; you can pick out the different wood bases within it and it evolves almost as though you were summiting a mountain and passing through different biomes. This is the only fragrance so far that I think is worth it's price (at edp strength) on Fulton & Roark's website. I'd like to see how it performs layering with an aquatic fragrance like Tauer's Phtaloblue or Etat Libre D'Orange's Sous Le Pont Mirabeau. Depending on the outcome, I might be looking to purchase a full bottle of Ramble.

Lovely green and spice that packs a punch in the first few minutes but settles on the skin long term into something a little more earth-y and subtle. The citrus at the front is very fresh, wish it stuck around longer as it was a lovely combination. I could see this being a lovely winter scent because of the fir=Christmas connotation, and it feels like it would do better in cooler temperatures, but I could also see this being lovely in spring.

A very nice masculine piney herbal fragrance, if somewhat expected. It's a pleasant, solid entry in the genre: after a few minutes, it settles into something coniferous and masculine, with a warm but dry resinous underpinning, like shafts of sunlight warming the mulch of the forest floor. I don't get the pomelo or, surprisingly, the black pepper, and the lavender is present but not discernible, if that makes sense. I sense it in the underlying mosaic, but it's not a punch to your nose of lavender. The heavier notes shine here, and the body of this scent is fir, oakmoss, and patchouli, though I think the overall impression I get is fir (a little blue-green) + bamboo (lightens and brightens) + resin (dry) + a little je ne sais quoi. The performance is great. It definitely takes the entire day to slowly fade away. It's not until hours and hours and hours later that the rest of the fragrance dissipates enough to get the gentlest remainder of pomelo as a reminder of the day. I'd originally thought of this as "forgettable", and it's true it's not strikingly unique, but it's really quite a nice fragrance: solid and dependable. Eminently wearable, definitely leans masculine, well-done but nothing innovative. 8.5/10.

This leads with lavender, a Pledge-y lemon, and a Pine-Sol-y pine -- which sounds like it should be way too harsh, but I actually found nice! Ramble dries down to an oakmoss/patchouli thing that feels generically and youthfully masculine to me, sort of an Irish Spring soap deal.

Opens refreshingly woodsy, before long it turned to more of a strong oakmoss scent, that was not as interesting as the opener, but still pleasant. After a few hours, it was a nice scent leaning more on the patchouli than the woodsy smells.

Pleasant, juicy green opening.

Ramble is a wonderful smelling fragrance, it has a very clean opening with bright woody spicy notes with a green almost wet bamboo/moss like note. The dry down and opening are very similar but the bamboo note grows strong as the woody spicy notes fade; there is also a a slightly sweet floral note that appears. Performance is unfortunately not great in regards to longevity, I got about 4 hours on my skin and under 2 on my clothes. A 3/10 here. Projection was surprisingly even worse, as soon as Ramble dried down its projection vanished. It was a skin scent after the first 15 minutes and quickly got even weaker as the 4 hours of wear time wore on. A 2/10 here. I really enjoyed the way Ramble smelled, in particular the wet fresh bamboo mossy like profile that shined through after the initial applicant but the performance was unfortunatly way to weak to make it a fragrance that I would reach for constantly. A 5/10 overall for me.

It's nice, but honestly I didn't have any thoughts on smelling it. Coming back, I can pick out some piney bits at the top, it does give forest... just not the kind of forest I was craving. This feels like a cold, conifer forest on a mountain slope (which I could have predicted, reading more carefully). I was hoping for a humid, mossy, Southeast forest.

This is a mix between lemon Pledge and a pine-scented deodorant I used to wear. It's not unpleasant, but it seems like a basic generic "manly" scent. It's fine but I tend to like more adventurous scents, personally, and I bet you could find something very similar to this one for a lot cheaper.

smells like pine trees in the summer. very fresh & clean scent, it might remind some people of pine-sol or pledge but it mostly reminds me of soap. or a men's shampoo/body wash. I wouldn't wear this often but I think it would smell nice after a shower or bath. 5.5/10

A Fresh Scent with a bit of depth to it and it stands out pretty well... Good for everyday wear but not advised since a 1.7oz costs over $200-----least to say, only projection and longevity is to be questioned since it's classified as an extrait... 6/10

Heavily reminded me of Al Haramain's L'Aventure which in itself is a Creed Aventus dupe. if you had me smell both Ramble and L'Aventure side by side I would not be able identify which is which.

Is this really what Aventus smells like? I hope not. It smells like a cheap men's body wash. Feels unbalanced and lacking in depth.

Clean, green scent. Like a lot from this house, performance is low.

This smells like a generic men's aftershave to me. Which is to say, it doesn't smell BAD, but I would not generally choose to smell like this.

Coming from someone that lived in NYC, I'm telling you this reminds me of the lovely walks I spent in the park enjoying the smell of the trees in the fall. Talk about bringing back memories!
