Emerald Ambergris

Sampling one of the two newest releases from Gallagher Fragrances, Emerald Ambergris, which uses genuine ambergris in concert with mixed citruses, florals, patchouli, and vetiver. It’s fresh, bright, sharp, a mix of green/mossy/earthy. It’s quirky and mysterious, a bit unlike anything I’ve smelled, and I’m instantly quite intrigued by it as it’s not over the top in any one area, either, really an interesting composition with an interesting story. Priced at $195 for 50ml and seemingly sold only via the house site in limited supply, it’s priced above the standard for the house, but this makes plenty of sense due to the rare, natural, difficult-to-source ambergris in the mix, and it performs quite well. 8 out of 10

Yes please. This minty/powdery/mineral ambergris fragrance is a TRUE niche experience. I said niche, not artistic. Although the Gallaghers are great artists! This is truly wearable. I had to get a backup since it is so limited. Lucky me!! This is a summer must have for me

This indy perfumer gets the assignment. Eat ur heart out areej. for real. This guy, gets the celtic ambergris idea. Ambergris is not all bahamas, sunshine and sweat. Its not always arabian spicy, either. Its thick and overcast skies reflecting green emerald isles in ireland with the tall, ancient cliffs taking large heaps of waves smashing against the coast as sperm whales blow their holes in the distance while you chug a proper guiness in ur mocassins. A stunning and intriguing but very noble and aristocratic captivating blend of orange-y orange blossom, juicy citruses, smooth creamy labdanum, smooth dry grey vetiver, and a whisper of dry healthy patchouli that creates a captivating backbone and conveys the feeling/encapsulation of gemstone emerald, absolutely. Good job. The green itself is not bright green but the citruses makes it come across as bright immediately. The sugary lemon really shines through. Its opulent, but creamy breezy fresh as it dries, then becomes cozy ambergris warm and luxurious on the late dry down. As it settles, the floral citrus notes emerge, but again later dry down around 4 hours in, it blooms again into a luxurious creamy and transparent musk, thanks to the AMBERGRIS BABY! working its magic with your skin chemistry. It pumps off skin around you in a scent bubble in the dry down. Awesome. I would kill for a full bottle. Unfortunately, extremely limited and I found a sample on etsy a little after product drop date. Annndd I used my whole decant! The rest i hoardishly added to my frankenstein aventus flaccon (multiple batches, 1 flaccon). It really is wearable and smells both good and intriguing at the same time. The same can't be said for many indy niche ambergris fragrances. They always screw it up/mask the ambergris/use excessive foul smelling ambergris/use excessive animalics/excessive use of labdanum (not here)/excessive lemon (there is lemon here but definitely not excessive)/and cheap or fake ambergris/iso e super to cover it all up. This however, probably could have benefited from either tomato leaf, ivy, or star anise. For added freshness my man. This smells great and even slightly cloying amount of REAL good quality ambergris and I LOVE it. It has a dryness to it as it dries down that works as well, but without using labdanum or "vanilla" to get there. If you’re in an office all day, this fragrance evolves beautifully, wrapping you in an aura of beautiful complexity. It’s rare to find a scent that’s both a work of art and completely wearable. So, trust me, you need to experience a full days wear of this!

II think I am the only one in Spain, with a full bottle of this heavenly juice. Not sure if I will be able to describe it but think of something fresh, salty, floral, slightly funky (in my skin not in the blotter). To me, one of the most special piece of my collection.
