Lavender & Bourbon

Sampling one of the two newest releases from Gallagher Fragrances, Lavender & Bourbon, part of the Pearlescent Collection within the larger brand, interestingly at the intersection of cherries, bourbon, and lavender, with splashes of pineapple, blackcurrant, and spices accenting the mix, a sort of fresh cocktail with some depth, sweetness, and an interesting amount of sharpness stemming from the eponymous lavender & bourbon pairing. It predictably mellows out a bit over time, becoming a bit less sharp while still maintaining a similar profile. I think this might prove enjoyable for someone who wants a boozy experience that’s sweet but too sweet, fruity and tart but not too sweet, and with a floral touch that, while prominent, is not dominant. Overall, I think this is great and quite unique, quite an achievement and a nod to someone like me who enjoys curiously boozy fragrances. As with the rest of the Pearlescent Collection, this is extrait concentration and priced at $125 for 60ml, very reasonable in the current market, and it performs quite well. It’s sold in the US via the house website and available at boutiques that carry the brand like Perfumology and Olfactif. 8 out of 10

I grew up in Kentucky. There are so many wonderful bourbon smells. The sour mash, where corn, barley, and wheat are ground up into a barrel to make the juice--which smells like a sour bread. Then there's the distilling process, which has a unique alcohol smell. Then, there's the smell of freshly charred oak barrels, which get filled with the distilled spirits and put in a barn for 4-8 years. All of these are unique and wonderful smells. And, honestly, I don't get any of that in this scent labeled Lavender and Bourbon. With that said, this smells fantastic. Very sweet, without leaning too feminine or youthful. The main notes I get are Pineapple, Lavender, and green notes.

I bought a discovery set from Gallagher Fragrances. It was the Fall and Winter set, it came with a few with the two new releases. Let me just say this about Lavender and Bourbon. It’s such a beautiful scent, the opening is like I just went to my local guy and bought freshly cut pineapple and home grown, juicy, mouth watering cherries. I never thought those 2 notes could blend so well, from the top, through the mid, and dry down it’s absolutely amazing I love this scent! Sincerely Scented Paradise.

I was a little worried about the combo of notes here, but I do love lavender so decided to give it a go. ..This is actually really beautiful. I definitely get the cherry, black currant, baking spices and bourbon and together it gives a bit of the Angels Share vibe but then combined with a fresh lavender makes it very unique. I can’t really say I get any rosemary and maybe only a hint of pineapple. I love this though!

I am really enjoying this scent. When it arrived, I immediately sprayed it. At first, I liked it a lot—quite strongly. Three days have now passed, and I’ve fallen completely in love with this unique take on lavender, enhanced by a fruity, fresh, dark, spiced, and aromatic aura. I believe this scent will shine all year long.

*Lavender & Bourbon* > I'm not a Pineapple fan (sorry Aventus). I'm not thrilled with Lavender. Blackcurrant, as a note in perfume, eludes me. Patchouli (sometimes) makes me think *1960s hippie headshop*. Decades ago...I dated a very nice Italian girl named Rosemary whose mother was an alcoholic (too much information?....sorry). So.... someone.... anyone, please, explain to me...how Daniel Gallagher (masterfully) combined Pineapple, Bourbon Whiskey, Cherry, Blackcurrant, Lavender, Rosemary, Patchouli, Baking Spices and Vanilla ... (Phew!) ... and came up with this super delicious, fresh-smelling, new, different (doesn't smell like anything I know of) perfume. Must be those Baking Spices and....Mindy! 9.7/10

Lovely, mellowy sweet bourbon and pineapple. Quite mature though. Best from sample set as of 20/05
