Mists of Time

This is like, so, so surprising. First of all that candied orange - wow. It really smells of candied oranges, and the orange note lasts throughout the lifetime of the fragrance. To be honest with you, I can pinpoint it even better. To me it's not even a candied orange, it's that fizzy (aldehydes maybe?), powdered orange lemonade you had as a kid - I have no idea what it's called in your country, no point telling you what it's called in Poland, but Germans for example have this Ahoj Brause stuff. Is Kool Aid fizzy? I mean, it's that fizzy orange powder. You're supposed to mix it with water but c'mon, as a kid it went straight on my tongue with that fizzy feel. That's the kind of orange it has - a fizzy, powdered lemonade candy. I kind of get the ‚time’ part of that fragrance, this made me nostalgic. There's also a lot of bergamot here in that natural, zesty, fresh way - good, it makes the orange fresh and cool, clean, spacious - not candy sticky. Shut up with that Aventus approach - it doesn't smell of Aventus, it just shares a note or two. It reminds me of something else by Creed, but I'll get to that. I'm so happy you can actually pick all the mid notes here, because I love those. The cypress is here - a lot, you can feel it, and it joins the DNA perfectly making it cold. The birch/patchouli with the bergamot top MIGHT resemble some Aventus vibes BUT. Here's a big but. The candied orange and juicy, cold, metallic mineral notes make it a completely different thing. The base thought. It smells to me of a bright, cold mountain air and an ice cold metal. Like, transparent, cold, bright. What I don't get in this perfume is the leather - at all, the vanilla - it's very much a base sweetener to me, just a tiny bit, not really a point in this composition, and tobacco - it's there, sometimes I get a whiff and go oh, oh, I got you! and then just... no, not so sure anymore. My wife says she can pick it up, me - from time to time, and I'm never really sure about it. Let's get to the part you'll consider juicy, you sick bastards. IS IT AVENTUS?! No. Let me explain. To me it has the idea and base of Himalaya with that piercing, mineral, mountain air notes. It has the birch (no smoke at all here, the wood), patchouli (clean, not musty or chocolate like) and currant/bergamot with that clean, fruity tone of Aventus but - it doesn't really smell of either, it just might share the genre of the perfume. So if you have to - imagine the mountain air of Himalaya, the mid of Aventus, and replace the pineapple with fizzy orange powder and you might have an idea of what to expect - but it's just to help you imagine, don't consider it 'inspired by' as it's not close enough in my opinion. This is a complete unisex, but because of that woody, mountain-like approach I bought it to myself as a man to wear it comfortably. It will last you nicely 8+h easily with good projection for 4h and nice trail all the time. The price is spot on for the quality.

So i purchased a sample of this fragrance and i must say this fragrance is amazing. This scent reminds me off an Orange Creamsicle Lollipop, a very sweet orange creamy smell it opens up so amazing and delicious then when it cools down you start to get a very smoky scent. It smells a bit sweet and smoky on my skin After about 8+ hours i got a patchouli, tobacco vanilla note. I love this fragrance. I actually let my buddy smell this sample as well and for years he worked at Macy's in the fragrance department and when he sniffed it he INSTANTLY said it reminded him of A MEN ULTRA ZEST by mugler which is a fragrance i personally never smelled but that was his comparison. So if you're looking for a niche rendition of Ultra Zest you can purchase a sample or a full bottle to enjoy this amazing fragrance. Enjoy your purchase.

I love this stuff. I purchased a sample at a local store and wore it for three days before springing for a full bottle. There are a lot of notes, but orange and vanilla are the most noticeable on my skin. My wife feels like the opening is a little much, but likes it once that initial loud blast of candied orange dies down. Performance and longevity are great for me—i catch whiffs of it all day long. I would recommend sampling it first. The closest thing, from my experience, that I can compare it to is Chanel Allure Homme Sport if it was a lot sweeter. That isn’t a perfect comparison, but it can at least give you some idea of the smell.

This reminds me of Terre de Hermes in conception: dirty orange. Just done with a different orange and different dirt note. I’d also disagree that it smells less fresh that TdH, as I all of those quickly lose their freshness and sink into flinty dirt note. This one is less musky and less dominated by iso e super.

Sampling the latest release from Gallagher Fragrances, Mists of Time, a fresh, sharp, fruity, woody, and slightly musky mix that I have a bit of a difficult time classifying, though the note breakdown aligns with my impressions of it. There’s orange (though I get more bitter orange than candied orange, myself), some sweeter fruit in black currant, cypress/birch for a mixed green/woody/smoky quality, and a dry down of mineral notes (to which I attribute some of the lasting sharpness), musk, and vanilla. It smells timeless, unisex, and versatile, certainly something robust to wear in the heat or more reserved in the cold, but an undoubtedly interesting olfactory experience that I want to try out some more. While it definitely doesn’t loudly announce itself like some other fragrances from the line, its slower, subtler reveal shows its nuances and might make it a better fit for more people than most in the line. The pricing for Mists of Time is in line with the current pricing of the house, $115 for 50ml, and domestically, the brand is sold via Perfumology, American Perfumer, and Olfactif. 7 out of 10

Usually I’d have a big yap fest review but I’ll keep it simple. Opens up with bright, effervescent, metallic, sweet, and zingy orange squeezed overtop a menagerie of woods. As it dries down, the orange really fleshes out and it really starts to smell like a freshly poured Fanta/orange soda from a soda dispenser. Really really good, but really really weird. A lot of Iso E Super in this Stellar performance for a citrus forward fragrance as it pushes off my skin very well under some heat. And ur stick around for a good 8+ hours. Strong 8.5/10, could see this growing on me with more wearings. Song vibe - (it goes like) Nanana by Peggy Gou

Expect a sparkly, sugar-coated citrus opening that eventually grounds itself in earthy metallic minerals and dry woods ala Ganymede. While it has a unique character, the combination of a sharp sour note and subtle tobacco might be off putting to some. Also, despite the notes, the vanilla remains entirely elusive to my nose. After an hour: The drydown has been phenomenal. Like a clean Ganymede/ Bois imperial vibe merged with the citruses of Afternoon swim. Full bottle worthy for me!

The candied orange is so realistic but the patchouli and leather grounds it from becoming too edible. The patchouli in the dry down is similar to that in Behold Patchouli but the orange lifts it a bit. So lifted and grounded but somehow that makes sense to me! I’d say this one is like a cousin of Behold Patchouli who lives in a warmer climate.

Mists of Lemon Pledge. Pretty meh. Standard niche attack. Orange, lime and a mineral overtone. Lacking quality ingredients but otherwise good. Meh 🫤 to my nose but objectively good. Gets stale as it wears.

I got the decant, i pop it on my arm and i was like: This literally smells like feces. I was instantly dissapointed with it, but i was like let me smell it again, and when i did that, i started to realize it was more of a citrus fragrance than shit. I tried it out in cold weathers and it was insanely strong, like it cuts trough the air around you. Its a very citrusy male scent. You get the all the citrus with this one and the typical male perfume scent. Its insanely strong in the first 4-5 hours but after that you need to move a bit closer to smell it, which i like since its a powerful scent.

Terre d'hermes eau givrèe is extremely similar and smells so much better than mists of time. If you like the candied orange opening that mists of time has then you will love hermes eau grivèe. Mists of time turns dirty and Gothic with the patchouli, whereas hermes eau grivèe keeps that "candied orange" opening throughout its entire wearing. Eau grivèe smells like citrus/pine needles but it has an extremely similar vibe to the candied orange. The hermes DNA is also more sexy and sophisticated than mists of time

It does have slight Aventus characteristics along with a cream sickle vibe that is nice. But what I didn't expect was this to be a compliment getter like it is. Great sillage off my skin! 8/10 Update: 8.75/10 it grown on me, too strong for high heats but surely a spring and summer gem

This has a bright earthy vibe. I hate leather scents but I don’t get the leather on my skin here. On the dry down the metal notes really come through. It’s not girly at all but I do feel it’s a feminine leaning unisex. Not giving “girl boss” vibes but more “crystal witch”

I thoroughly love this scent! Unisex straight down the middle. No one note outshines another. Complex, extremely well blended and so, so pleasant. Will be a staple in my collection.

I get more grapefruit than orange. Pretty linear one hour in. 6.5 hours later, definitely a skin scent but still there. More sweet now
