Tel Aviv

A really beautiful scent but poor longevity if you don't make sure your skin is super moisturised. I never thought I would love a scent with peppery freesia in. It's a bright airy fruity floral. Sparkling bergamot tickles your nose like champagne bubbles. The fruit notes are as potent as the Floral although freesia is probably top floral. The clementine definite stands out on me but I'm not complaining. Citrus notes are 'happy' notes to me. It smells classy and not like any ordinary mainstream floral. It's a shame the musk and sandalwood don't seem to help to extend the longevity. Thank goodness for shea butter. I put this on skin where I will spray and the scent really clings to it. Reasonable sillage in chilly conditions. It's the sort of scent to wear with a feminine outfit. A floaty dress and strappy sandals. Yeah, I can see it working well in the 70s. Yep, I think this is the one for me. It's a bright and sunny scent to wear on warmish days. Happy to the core. 😀

I haven't tried this on skin, but just from sniffing on a card this is a very interesting fragrance development wise. When I first sniffed the freshly sprayed card I found it to be very nearly aquatic, I would have sworn there was something in the melon family and maybe some salt in the top notes, very 'fresh cool ocean breeze'. A few minutes later a second sniff was still a lot of sea breeze but with a hit of sunshine, something very warm and bright coming in. I set this to the side did a lot more sniffing of other things, and picked this back up when deciding which strips to take with me and... it was a whole different scent, I had to double check I hadn't mis-labled it! It was warm and creamy in a sultry late summer afternoon way. Next time I see someone ask for a beach scent, this will be my first suggestion, total day at the beach, from cool morning breeze to midday sun to lazy late afternoon. I'm definitely going to need to try this on skin sometime!

This for me is the perfume equivalent of a pretty blouse with lots of delicate little flowers: it's a perfume you would smell on someone who is good and kind (it's giving me Caroline Ingall's vibes ;-) I really adore this creation - the combination of florals with the blackcurrant and clementine make for a truly lovely, approachable, very easy everyday perfume with surprising tenacity! Of the three Gallivant perfumes I've tried, I've been particularly impressed with the performance of Tel Aviv and Los Angeles (the oil lasts all day for me!). I also appreciate this house in general and am always happy to support small independent companies who clearly have their heart in the game. Tel Aviv strikes the perfect balance of being a bit floral, fruity and citrusy -- refreshingly uplifting and happy.

Very longlasting on my skin, I love this fresh sweet flowery smell. Maybe I’m a flowertype after all🤔 I used the perfume this morning and I still can smell it (it’s evening) It’s beautifully subtle, yet has sillage.

Love this but the longevity is dismal. Luckily, I can just throw the 30 ml bottle in my backpack and spritz throughout the day!

I love it. It has a sassy, sexy eighties florals vibe, smells like summer and it holds up in hot weather.

The fragrance of Tel Aviv portrays, in its creative concept, the hectic life of the great city in Israel, with its beaches, nightlife and gay hubbub. Its name means, in Hebrew, "Hill of Spring" and in this sense, the fragrance could not be more literal, since it is a beautiful white floral, full of sunny and warm shades as spring. It features notes of clementine, bergamot and blackcurrant buds on top of the composition. Then, the heart carries notes of freesia, essential oil of rose, ylang-ylang from Comoros (Africa) and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. In the base we have notes of sandalwood, musks, benzoin and liatrix absolute (also called deer tongue or prairie pine). On the skin, Tel Aviv has an extremely strong output with acidic aroma. The citrus side merges with the fruity acidity of the blackcurrant and bathes the flowers, as if it were a juice washing petal by petal. And, as usual, in compositions that combine jasmine and ylang-ylang, everything else loses importance when these notes show their power. And what a jasmine! What a beautiful ylang-ylang! From the bottom, to be honest, I did not feel the tobacco or vanilla content that some claim to exist in the liatrix. I felt a clear nuance, which I believe came from the musks and a slight creaminess, very typical of sandalwood. However, I do not agree that Tel Aviv is a unisex fragrance. Perhaps shareable by some more modern men. But, still, it is a feminine fragrance, which brings me to classics such as Givenchy's Amarige, for instance. Of course, I know that the root of perfumery does not separate perfumes by gender and that this is linked to marketing questions. But since most of my followers are Brazilian and I know that Brazilian men do not usually surrender to the most floral fragrances, I would never indicate a blind purchase of this perfume, except for women. It is a beautiful perfume, especially for someone like me, who quite like this type of fragrance, almost narcotic. If you like it too, it's worth knowing.

Tel Aviv (hmm...wishing Gallivant could have chosen a different city as inspiration, but here we are) is a bright floral scent, pleasant but nothing groundbreaking. It is based around a smooth white and yellow floral accord, with citric freshness up top and a musky base. It feels very noughties in style, thanks to the freesia and musk, not to mention the floral-fruity profile in particular. TA is a floral scent from the beginning, with some citrus adding freshness up top. I get sweet, juicy orange in particular. Light, sweet freesia leads the way, but ylang ylang becomes the most prominent floral note to my nose, smooth and creamy with a tropical sweetness. As it develops, powdery, clean jasmine follows, a predictable but seamless inclusion. TA becomes cleanly musky as it dries down, with the sweet powdery florals remaining. I get some rose here, but it lingers in the background. It remains floral as it fades, fading to a sweetly musky skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a feminine spring/summer scent in my opinion. A pleasant, safe floral scent, TA is a good-quality scent with mass appeal, but feels a little dated, style-wise. Not memorable, but undeniably nice. 3/5.

Gallivant Tel Aviv is primarily a floral composition, but it's green, unisex, and robust. It's underscored by citruses, musk, and a soft benzoin/sandalwood pairing in the base. I regard it as unusually agreeable for a niche release, seemingly appropriate for anyone anytime, and while that might brand it less daring, I see it as a rare entry that's signature scent worth for men and women alike. The white floral aspects (ylang ylang, jasmine) shine the most, but blackcurrant and citruses provide for a fun, bright, sweet opening that eventually paves the way for the a very agreeable dry down of musk, benzoin, and sandalwood. Like Brooklyn, Tel Aviv's performance is very good for a freshie, though in fairness, one should almost expect that at its pricing of $95 for 30ml. 7 out of 10

Tel Aviv is a very beachy scent, and on me the ylang ylang is the most prominent note that lasts for hours. I LOVE jasmine, and just like ylang ylang, but if ylang ylang is your thing definitely give it a try. This fragrance lasts a good 6-8 hours on me. It's an simple, pretty wear for summer with nothing offensive or overcomplicated. It makes me think of being barefoot in a light, flowy sundress on a warm day just taking it easy, but is also polished enough floral to wear to the office without seeming out of place. I've never been to Tel Aviv, but I visited Croatia once and this scent immediately smelled to me like the feeling of being there.

On applying this perfume to my skin my impressions are of a bright, fresh, clean floral scent. Initially there is a burst of quite sweet citrus and I also get the black currant leaf mixed with the citrus. Then for me the jasmine is the main note. I can detect some freesia and ylang ylang but no rose. The under notes are there but subtle. I am reminded of faint cigar smoke. Quite pleasant. The whole thing develops on my skin into a clean aromatic floral scent I could happily wear during the day. I think it is a feminine scent. Not 'seductive'. More 'confident young woman'.

One of my favorites from Gallivant, because it reminds me of the smell of the lobbies of 5-star hotels on the Mediterranean. It's more floral than fruit, but the fruit is used very judiciously to take the edge off the white florals (and the ylang-ylang also works to smoothe everything out). This is not very powerful, but rather pleasantly low-key. A good perfume for hot climates if you don;t want to emphasize that you're wearing perfume. Something nice for non-bathers to wear poolside, perhaps, or for anyone to wear to a sunny outdoor brunch.

Maybe it's unfair circumstances to judge this scent, since the bottle(a decant from Sniph) was crushed in the delivery process and the liquid soaked into the packaging. It smelled very fresh and clean and a lot of musky jasmine and bergamot, leaning towards feminine. I also thought it was a little harsh and alcoholish at first, but it might be that there were so much of it! The scent grows on me at the places i got it on my skin. Could have been a match but nothing extrodinary. As newly washed sheets drying outside in a floral spring breeze.

Jasmine is the most predominant note, and I guess I can understand why clementine is listed as there’s a subtle sweetness although it’s very light. It’s pretty and feminine. Overall it is a very linear scent that doesn’t seem to last long which it is a shame. I love the city Tel Aviv - it’s modern and bright but also has layers and mixes of cultures. Does this scent remind me of it? Only the top shiny facade. Unfortunately it lacks all the potential depth. I really like it but I don’t love it.

My first Gallivant scent!! At first spritz I thought Tel Aviv was a nice but unremarkable floral scent...what I was not prepared for was the remarkable development of this scent. I love Tel Aviv! The initial floral scent gives way to a beautiful citrus that lasts for ages. Even 6 hours after application I keep catching how good I smell! Buying the full bottle tonight and really excited to explore the rest of the range!

How we all feeling about a fragrance named for Tel Aviv these days? Anywhoooo ... a covert sandalwood / floral. Covert in that I wore maybe five or six sprays of this (for me that’s a lot) and it barely breached the threshold of my awareness throughout the day. Kind of like a nice body cream. As it wears off, I’ve already forgotten all about it. What were we talking about?

A very feminine fragrance. I can't see a man wearing this one. My first impression with the sample I have not even knowing the notes was: Beachy with a distant vibe of the old Sand and Sable cologne by Coty. I get a very clean floral and it's soft and safe and very girly. A pretty fragrance. I can picture a bride wearing this for her wedding.

It's an ok nisch perfume. I should love this one because it has bergamot in the top notes, jasmine in the middle and sandalwood in the base and thats usually a hit for me although I sence the powdery notes more than i like to and thats why it's not a winner or something I use every day. It's good for change though.

For me it is all about freesia and clementine. Very Bright and happy. On my skin, freesie tends to have a sour undertone, but here it is well-balanced with the citrusy aspect of the clementine. Wow, sunshine in a bottle. I don't know if it represents Tel Aviv, but if the city is as Bright, I am eager to travel :).

Yep, as advertised, Tel Aviv is a big, breezy, colorful summer floral with a touch of tropical flair. it’s a bit like Beyond Paradise; pretty, summery, rainbow-hued, clearly artificial but none the worse for it. Good fun, easy to wear.

I was disappointed in this. It’s not bad smelling by any means, but only get jasmine, freesia and some initial fruitiness which disappears quickly. For me, zero vibes of city, madness. I definitely missed the invite to this party.

Tel Aviv is the slightly woody version of marc jacob daisy. my skin strangely eats the woody scent quickly and within an hour im left with the white floral musky notes. if this stays long, I would love it.

Very linear, simple, floral Floral FLORAL. It's pretty, with decent sillage and longevity, but a little too one-dimensional for me personally.

Very fresh and floral. Summer vibes and light. Leaning super feminine but the freshness of it allows for a more masculine feel.

Generic summer fragrance for women. It's pleasant, but so are dozens of fragrances in your local perfumery.

Tel Aviv is, if nothing else, an interestingly diamond-hard and demonstrative take on the beach scent. It's a bright sun reflecting off of blindingly white sand. I kept waiting for the sharp freesia, citrus, salty, and (seemingly intentionally chlorine-ish?) chemical notes to mellow into something softer and more refined, or cooler and more cosmopolitan; but no, this is "go beach or go home" from start to finish. It's not a bad scent by any means, but its brightness is a little too aggressive and muscular for me to warm to. This is for the person who treats lounging on a beach as an olympic sport, and is aiming for nothing less than gold.

A happy, casual white floral/citrus scent. Not overly complicated by any means, also kind of comes off soapy on my skin, but definitely a great skin scent for spring or summer weather! I get between three and four hours of wear time before it fades.

Fresh woman scent smells like suntan lotion. This is sandalwood with a mix of florals. Quite linear, nothing unique and quite boring.

I gotta believe that the actual city is way more vibrant than this flat floral that bears it's name. Monochromatic meh

OverPOWERLINGLY beachy. The sense impression here is startling: there is an imaginary 6 foot 6 Israeli swim champ straight out of the sea, in a pair of bright orange swim trunks, towering over me and fully intruding on my personal space. Incredibly strong and realistic notes of 'clean sweaty', clean-musky, salty, sun-baked skin, with an equally strong but strangely fluorescent sort of fruitiness, the tangerine and flowers morphing into something vaguely apricot-esque. On my skin, which tames many an extrovert scent, this is HUGE, a hulking looming presence. It puzzles and slightly intimidates me; like a lot of other Gallivants it's got a modern, streamlined, chemical feel (I might have been hallucinating but almost got a faint waft of chlorinated pool at one point), which isn't my sort of thing, but is not UNpleasing, but I can't quite like it enough to deal with how loud it is. It doesn't change much over time, and doesn't tire fast either - still extremely robust (I would even say muscular) 3hours in, and very much making its presence felt up to 8. So it's certainly got stamina as well as heft, and is very well sculpted indeed overall. Overall it's too sweet and fruity for me, but its crushing force and loud voice make it seem definitely unisex IF you like it. But like the nerdy kid left off the swimming team that I was, I still can't really keep up with it myself. Admirable performance for those who want one of the most aggressive aquatics ever engineered, though, no question. (*reading over other people's impressions, it's absolutely bizarre - my experience with this one seems really at odds with many others...)

Fresh feminine feeling Summer fragrance, beachy and with a dose of sun tan lotion. Unfortunately smells like cheap aroma chemicals, with very basic accords that lack in complexity and naturalness. Vaguely smells like a mid 90s fragrance now possibly found in bargain bins. Had such hopes for the house but 30 minutes around these fragrances makes my throat irritated and scratchy and this has happened multiple times. For a Summer fragrance, 30ml of Atelier cologne offers a much more high quality natural beach vibe without the screechy chemicals. Disappointing, the juice doesn’t live up to the story behind the brand.

Tel Aviv is a pretty floral sitting on a bed of benzoin and sandalwood. It’s the least “niche” of the seven Gallivant samples I have tried. It’s not a bad perfume, just the easiest to wear. Freesia is dominant, with jasmine and Ylang supporting. The fruit note I pick up in the background is orange. A crowd pleasing scent with a 3 to 4 hour performance, leaning feminine. I’m surprised this is not rated higher, so pay no attention to it if the notes and description is up your alley.

Sunny and bright, but the scent is bit too much like some face cream. If I smelled it on somebody else, I’d think it’s highly perfumed face cream or even tan lotion, and not a perfume. It does convey well a feeling of a sunny and hot place, where you’re guaranteed to get tanned and enjoy your time.

It's in-your-face-aquatic and too simple to my taste. It reminds me of all the aquatic fragrances of late 90ies and early 00s. If you are still in love with D&G Light Blue, Echo by Davidoff and L'Eau par Kenzo - you might as well like this one.

The scent of this is cheap and vile

Smells like i just entered a Flower Picking Farm with wooden bucket in hand. Does this fragrance represent the current zeitgeist of Tel Aviv culture? That's not a rhetorical question. I'd really like to know. The Sanbac segues throughout the entire fragrance soiling the other notes to the point where everything smells like it has a hint of "white." The peel from the ylang-ylang is "yellow" in its presence but that accord has nowhere near the strength of its heady white cohort. The only part of the freesia that i smell are the green facets. I'm not picking up the peppery stuff. There are allegedly 4 different fruits involved in the making of Tel Aviv. I purchased a sample in hopes of enjoying what i thought would be a fruit medley. Instead i'm left with traces of citruses that appear to be a little on the tart side. The sweet treats are sandwiched between white and yellow florals therefore, it's hard to get an authentic autograph from the produce. The girlfest continues with a rose which im not able to determine if it's green or lemony(probably the latter). As the fragrance come to a close, the lasting effect is similar to Nectarine Honey and Blossom.

Tl;dr Tel Aviv is a beautiful fragrance with no longevity. This is a strange observation because the note profile is not terribly similar - but Gallivant Tel Aviv has the feeling to me of one of the Tom Ford scents, either Soleil Blanc or Fleur de Portofino. Very pretty, sophisticated-beach-vacation. I actually love Gallivant Tel Aviv - but my skin eats it up. I only get the aquatic-floral-suntan-oil top notes - and that fades extremely quickly.If Gallivant could find a way to make Tel Aviv last longer... Also for what it counts - the fragrance does evoke the city! It makes me think of Yafo/Jaffa, the Mediterranean side of the Tel Aviv metropolitan area.

I am not familiar with the fragrance and have no idea if it indeed represents the zeitgeist of Tel Aviv (although the description of the city in the press release is very apt). But - your comment about 'everything smelling like it has a hint of white' is interesting because the older parts of Tel Aviv used to be known as the White City. So maybe that informed the fragrance's composition in some way. Just a thought....

Go ahead spray it again, because you'll be doing that A LOT. This is a great, not fantastic sweet, citrus smell, but my goodness you'll be lucky if it lasts 30 min on your skin. Absolutely not worth the 15 dollars you can just spend at Bath & Bodyworks for something similar. You'll be done with that 30 ml bottle before you know it.

Marketed as unisex but it leans very feminine. It’s floral with a touch of citrus 🍊 in the opening but the dry down smells fresh and floral (I get the Jasmine but there’s something that’s grounding it to not overshadow the other notes). If you like Jasmine, then this is something to try.

To my nose, this is perfectly unisex.... when the dry down hits. It's a massive dose of floral upon first spray with a touch of green/ citrus then the incredible dry down hits - musk and sandalwood backbone. Fair longevity - a fresh, addictive fragrance, perhaps a little overpriced.

Bright and sparkly. I feel the sun white architecture dazzling in the sun and the beach. Brightens up the grey clouds on a June morning in East London. Love this small niche house. This would be a perfect wedding scent or a dreary day at the office.

A smell for a young confident woman indeed. It reminds me of flowers, sunscreen and honeydew melon all wrapped up in one. There is a bit of a synthetic Noni-fruit scent which I find a bit strong. It sits on everything after the dry down.

sweet jasmine and delicious citrus. a great combo, but unforch totes not for me. it's too sweet and pretty for my tastes. having said that, i wouldn't mind smelling this on my wife...! definitely worth a sniff...

This is a boujee Marc Jacobs Daisy. It’s nice, but I don’t need it. So many more exciting frags in this house, IMHO.
