Pearl Grey

This fragrance is much sweeter than what I expected from the note pyramid - not in a bad way, just in a surprising way. It opens on a sweetened condensed milk accord which, to my nose, was actually fairly realistic, but that vanishes after only about ten minutes. Sweet black tea then becomes front and centre, with the milk only serving to blunt the sharp edges. I could no longer really smell it as an actual note, it seemed to turn more into a kind of filter superimposed over the scent, making it gentler and dreamier. On me, the lavender was only a herbal-floral whisper that I think mimicked the smell of dried tea leaves very efficiently. As it dried down, this perfume became fruitier - I got a very distinct, very pronounced, almost photorealistic cooked peach note that I'm assuming can probably be traced back to the lactones that were almost certainly used for the "milk" facet. I liked the unexpected direction it took, although it's not necessarily my style. All in all, I had fun wearing this perfume around town. It is a very lovely, very enjoyable non-cloying gourmand. Did it remind me of Earl Grey? Not necessarily, but it's damn good, all the same - and both projection and staying power are excellent (I can still smell it on me after a whole day and a shower). I'd be very interested to see how that one performs on other people, as I have a (maybe completely unfounded) hunch that personal skin chemistry might play an important role in how it unfolds.

I love the tea note in this! It's one of my favorite teas, and I enjoy it quite a bit :)

I can barely smell this on myself, and I've tried it twice. I don't get the milk note at all. This perfume fades within an hour and is barely present to begin with. The only credit I can give it is that my son said he smelled tea after I put it on.

On my skin, this one smells like funky marijuana so much that I'd be afraid of being stopped and searched in public.
