I went to an isolated rural middle school in Saskatchewan, where hormones were raging and I was definitely not a popular girl. The REALLY popular ones, the ones whose comparatively richer parents dragged them to the mall a couple of towns over for some semblance of culture, wore what my 11 year old self could only describe as pure magnetism. I DREAMT of this scent, having no idea where to buy it or what it was called, with the idea that I could someday wear it too and be fabulous and sexy. When I was probably too old for it, I browsed through the gap and finally realized it was none other than Gap Dream and bought it on the spot, perhaps out of some sort of wistful longing to finally be the pretty girl. So yeah, while the scent itself is actually a little too obvious and megabrand-esque for my liking now, its fundamentally aspirational nature to a 11 year old canadian tomboy in the nineties introduced me to perfume. I still wear it as a reminder and I can't thank it enough.

This was my signature scent for a while in high school. I just recently bought another bottle and the nostalgia I get from this is unreal. It takes me right back to being a teenager, driving 2 hrs to the nearest city with my friends to go to the Gap to try out all the perfumes, spending the day at the mall buying brand name underwear, bathing suits, American Eagle clothing. It was such a vibe!! I come from a small town with nowhere to shop, and nothing to do, so these day trips were it for us. Gap Dream brings back all the feels. Ahh to be young again. As for the scent itself, I don't get much of any singular note here - it's all blended so beautifully to create a calming, clean and fresh cloud of optimism, freedom, and a carefree, dream-like wonder, that the prettiest girl you've ever seen would smell like. It literally smells like a dream!

I found the bottle of Gap dream in my closet at my mothers house. One spray brought me back memories from 90s. I have been discovered so many fragrances since 80s but I realized this is one of my favorite fragrances. Back then I didn't care about the notes of fragrances so now i am surprised to see the list of the notes Because I always felt a tea with milk vibe from Gap dream. I still can remember I went to the Gap store at Sukiyabashi Hankyu(Ginza) after work and sniffed once and fell in love with this. Its been over 30 years, the shop and the building are all gone... though my memories from 90s are still existing with this bottle.

My wife and I married in 1999. As newlyweds, we lived a few blocks from an open-air mall with a Gap and we walked there often. I can't remember if I bought Dream for her because I liked it or if she bought it and I liked it, but either way I loved the scent then and I still do. It's so pretty and so feminine. It smells youthful but not immature, with lovely floral notes and gentle sweetness. My wife passed away in 2024 and hadn't worn Dream in probably almost 20 years, but she still had a partial bottle which I will keep to remind me of her. A beautiful perfume and a treasured memory for me.

This was my signature scent throughout middle school. I recently found a bottle on clearance at the Gap outlet and had to pick it up. It is much more like a body spray, an intense body spray. The Freesia notes stand out the most. I was very sad to know it would be discontinued. I did find another perfume that was so similiar but has a little more lasting power, I Am Passion, which was a blind but at TJ Maxx. This is one is not in the fragrantica database but I checked out the website and sadly it looks like it has been discontinued as well.

Same as @JessieJames signature scent senior year. Drove an hour to the city to try the 4 Gap scents and feeling so sexy to find mine. Boys would tell me my waist length hair smells so good. I don’t remember a lot about it but I loved it. A couple of years ago I got my hands on a fleeting drop, Cardamom Musk which I love. Because it’s so affordable I spray it until my heart is content. I didn’t realize they’d re-released. I’ll probably buy one for nostalgia sake.

I bought a bottle online to replace one that was lost.. Although, I kept that bottle because my mother bought it for me in the late 90's. I can't believe that it can still be found for a decent price after it was discontinued years ago. No, it's not a stunning or complex scent, but I wanted it just for the nostalgia and those carefree days long gone by. It's pretty and feminine. The majority of what I smell is fresh orange blossoms and some jasmine.

talk about late 90s nostalgia. whew! i wore the heck out of this stuff. had the big 3.4 oz bottle. i also had the little purse sprays of om, day, grass, earth, and heaven. they were all exactly how their name described. this is a freesia dream and i will ALWAYS love it even if it is a little youthful. really wish the other scents were added to this site. some are very expensive on ebay (like over 100$) so i guess nostalgia can be costly

I wore this in high school. It wasn't my signature scent, just something I spritzed on to shake things up a bit. I love how sharp and crisp it is. It's sort of invigorating, like a blast of winter air, or ice cold fruit juice. For some reason, this has always smelled very delicious to me, even though the notes are all floral. Strange, wonderful little EDT. I still wear it occasionally, when I'm feeling especially fun and carefree.

OMG this was my go to scent back in the day along with Heaven and Grass. I managed to pick this up and more at one of their outlet stores in my city and it brought up so many memories from the past I bought a back-up in case GAP decides to discontinue this again. But its the same Dream that I know from the past. I have been spraying it non stop since I got it today. So worth it!

I first used this in my early high school ages and I immediately fell in love with it as soon as I sprayed it on me. It is a very clean scent. Not long lasting though. I think it should rather have been a body mist. However, I bought it again a couple of months ago and I still have it. Very clean.

It's a great pick-me-up scent! smells really good. I just wish it stayed on longer. when i get tired of heavy perfumes, i always come back to this one. i hope they never discontinue this.

Every day in middle school, I wore Dream or Heaven. This was back when they were in little metal travel size spray bottles. Wish I could get my hands on a few of those.

This is a GREAT smelling scent...all my friends love this scent too,its fresh and has its own smell that Ive never smelled before...lovely two thumbs up!

I love this frag...I used to wear it all the time in college. Not so much now... definitely when I want to lay back. Very fresh and clean.

Girly light floral I adored as a teen.

I actually remember the Gap scents from the 90s when they first came out really well, like it was yesterday. They were incredible. Super strong, one spritz lasted all day, very unique complex scents unlike anything else on the market, and they were DIRT CHEAP. They used to sell scented candles that were so soft and oily, you could touch the wax on one and wear it as a perfume solid. I owned OM, Dream, Heaven and Grass, and that's the order I'd rank them in from best to worst. Around the very late 90's/early 00's these scents were discontinued/reformulated and they were never the same. I tested some around 2003-2004 and thought they smelled like a cheap body spray knockoff of their original formulas. Nostalgia got the best of me, and in 2021 I picked up a couple of the glass bottle with white paper label re-release, and dear god did I regret wasting my money. Pure water. Subtle fragrance that vanishes immediately. Dream did have the best performance and closest to it's original smell out of the 4, but wearing it makes me sad. Makes me think about how much everything in the world has changed in the past 20 years and now everything is an overpriced cheaply made knockoff of what used to be good quality products. The new Dream smells an awful lot like watered down reformulated CKone with a bit of floral notes that smell more like damp dryer sheets than what Dream smelled like before. If I heavily overspray I get about 2 hours from the new release of Dream. OM is a ghost of what it was and lasts about 60 seconds. I blew through half a 3oz bottle in two wears, and my spouse was only able to smell it on me once right after I sprayed with his nose to my skin. Heaven requires 20 sprays to get about 30 seconds of a floral baby powder scent. I used that one in my bathroom as an air freshener, but it isn't strong enough to do anything besides give a 10-spray-10-second slight change in aroma to the powder room. I didn't bother buying Grass as it always just smelled like lawn, which was never my favorite scent.

Whenever I smell CK One, I am INSTANTLY transported to 1994, when I was 16, and my entire high school smelled like this for at least 2 years. High school wasn't exactly a nice time for me, but smelling CK One is a very pleasant scent memory, and one that I'm happy to recall. Especially in the winter, when the school was kind of stuffy and hot and overcast all at the same time, the citrus clarity of CK One kind of put a nice smoothing humid touch on all that pent up teenage pheromone school day boredom... I finally reacquainted myself with Gap Dream, and it is a bittersweet memory, because next to CK One, this is what everyone smelled like when I was in my teens/early 20s in the 90's. This just smells like nostalgia to me, because it reminds me that no one wears perfume anymore. I had several friends to smelled like this all the time, in the 90s, and now I realize that no one smells like much of anything. I really miss that greenish orange blossom freesia musky sweet white flowers, there is nothing else like it. I guess that Gap was our equivalent of a 'drugstore' scent, I remember having body lotion versions of both Grass and Day (a boring lemon cleaner scent, I should have just bought Dream like the rest of my friends.) While I guess that there are worse things going on in the world, I do think that it would be a nicer place if people still wore a spritz or two of scent. I miss the old days.

Managed to find a bottle of Dream EDT for $10 at Ross tonight! I didn’t think I had smelled it before, but I’d read the reviews and notes in here and knew it would be a safe blind buy for me. As soon as I spritzed it on myself in the car (it has been wrapped in plastic in the box, so no store sample) I was transported back to elementary school. It smells like pure 90s, so I am sure my classmates must’ve been wearing this although at the time I had no idea what it was. My friend who was with me said it smells very “purple”, so the packaging definitely matches. It is a calming and happy, carefree scent. It lasts a decent amount of time, but the sillage is almost non-existent after an hour or two. I can still get a good whiff if I bring my arm up to my face though, which I will certainly be doing regularly with this. Very happy with my purchase and I recommend grabbing some if you find it on sale or for cheap. Wouldn’t pay more than $10-15 for it though just based on the weak strength/sillage.

I'm reviewing the original vintage periwinkle bottle. Smells familiar but not as good as it is in my memory, possibly due to the age of the bottle. It's a very sour scent, my skin picks up the tangerine note strongly. It's a pretty juvenile scent, but not unpleasant or cheap smelling. Makes sense, since I loved it as a teen, especially since I favored citrus scent then. It's definitely realistically citrusy, like peeling a fresh tangerine, it has a very juicy quality to it. The musk and floral come through more as it settles, and they carry the citrus well, especially the orange blossom and carnation. The carnation is very strong and identifiable, a nice true carnation. The osmanthus note is lovely and fresh. The sillage is quite good at first. The floral definitely gets more detectable as it wears, and the longevity overall is alright, around 6 hours.

This is a nostalgic perfume for me. They have been reformulated - if you get the right one they smell basically the same but something is off. I'm not sure if the fragrance actually smells cheaper, or if my nose has just evolved since 1995.(maybe both?) This was my signature scent in high school, I still love the fragrance, but I would never actually wear it out...after all....I'm not the same person I was then and it just doesn't feel right. For a teenager who wants the 90's vibe or for someone (like me) who just wants to own a bottle for nostalgic purposes it's perfect. This basically sits on my shelf and I smell it occasionally to remember...

I didn't know this was discontinued already. I recently received a small EDT bottle for Christmas last year. Looks like I'll be saving sprays because even if this perfume is no longer my signature, this WAS my signature scent back in highschool. Clean, soapy, orange blossom. It's the smell when you're fresh out of the shower and your hair is newly shampooed. Even if this EDT doesnt last long, it has excellent sillage. It's also non-invasive and can be worn anytime throughout the day. It smells very young. I can picture a young carefree girl wearing a purple dress holding orange blossoms. I'm sad they'll stop producing this gem :(

I still have a small travel sized vial of this (the packaging is aluminum) from when I was in high school.I actually think it went with me on my grade 11 trip to Italy in 1998!! I remember I got it back when GAP was all about sweatshirts and jeans! I brought it with me this year on a trip to Thailand as it's the perfect size, and while my tastes in fragrance have changed, it is still a nice youthful scent (although I can't say I've smelled any newer version). I think of it as a fresh spring scent and made me smell clean even when I was sweating like a pig in Bangkok..HAHA!

This used to be my high school signature scent! It brings back lots of memories, I always have one on my wardrobe to sniff on from time to time when I feel like it. This has been discontinued... all the GAP fragrances. They are on SALE right now. I grabbed 10 big bottles of this GAP DREAM in the Store. I don't wear this anymore but I still want it in my collection cause of my high school memories. I also like the SO PINK but too bad the lady grabbed them all cause she said that's the only perfume she wears.

This was the 1st perfume I ever wore back in the 90s when I was in elementary school. GAP Dream used to come in a frosted glass bottle with an imprinted white cloud and a metal lid which when pulled off revealed the spray nozzle. A much nicer presentation than it is today in its cheap plastic bottle. I remember when this was first released it was all the rage and everyone had to have a bottle. I will always have a nostalgic soft spot for Gap Dream.

I almost forgot that I wore this in high school! Even some in college. I don't remember it being popular like CK One or Tommy, but I loved it, and I thought it was cool because it came from The Gap, which was seemingly higher end to my little teenaged mind. I'm not surprised to see it has freesia in it because I loved that smell back then. Those were the days. I love to see that so many other people have such fond memories of a fun, light scent.

I bought this years ago, for my first visit to the U.S. I wore it in high school but never realized it was so popular among American students before I read your reviews. There is still some left in my bottle that has been standing there for several years. To my nose this is a fresh, clean scent, almost aquatic. I don't get that much of a floral scent from it. I'm no longer interested in clean and aquatic scent (except in shower gels.)

I wore this perfume a great deal in college, and like others seem to, I find it nostalgic, though it's not the sort of thing that I like to wear now. The most prominent note in this perfume seems to be the orange flower. It's fairly sweet and fairly floral. I do like the gap scent packaging- the frosted glass or metal bottles with the little icons.

I went through a couple of bottles as a teenager. I've had an almost full 100ml bottle just sitting in my cabinet for the longest time. Sprayed it on today and it smells fantastic. A fragrance that can be purchased for cheap but doesn't smell cheap. It's clean and fresh but so distinct. Love it and will be wearing it lots this summer.

This scent is okay, not amazing, but okay. It is clean, but it is a little bit more powdery than I was expecting. I do get the freesia, and after a few minutes the orange blossom is more prominent and the scent takes on a more soapy quality. A decent, clean fragrance. I can't imagine that anyone could find it offensive in any way.

This is a nice "body mist" rather than a "fragrance". Gap Dream smells of freshly-cut grass and clean cotton linen for me.. Perfect to wear after your sports activity, a fresh, light start to clear up your mind before a stressful and long day at work.

Wow. I remember this from 25 years ago Just went into my local gap factory outlet and they had this and grass and heavenly And a few others. Picked up a bottle for $35 with Coupon I think it was $25 and it brought me back to my youth.

Reminds me of basement college parties and velour track suits lol. I can still smell this one in my memories. Clean and fresh, simply put. Not as bright as So Pink, but just as pretty.

It actually is my daughter's. She doesn't use it much. She actually left it when she moved out! Ha ha ha! It's not bad. It's decidedly floral green.

This perfume is so nostalgic for me. It's beautiful in a unique way. I wouldn't wear it now, but back in junior high I loved it.

I have a newer bottle with the paper label and this smells exactly like the yellow Ajax dish soap to me 😂 I use it to spray myself after I smoke just to use it up

I worked at Gap when I was 18 to just shy of 20. That was 2006 to 2007. Dream was my favorite out of Om, So Pink, and Heaven (Heaven I disliked, by the way — hugely suffocating white floral). Dream had freesia, violet, and some musk, with some other fresh florals. It was so pretty. I owned the frosted glass bottles. A big reason why I liked Gap scents was because they were one of only TWO brands I've ever tried in my life (along with Victoria's Secret) that lacked a cloying, synthetic quality that is still very hard for me to describe. They were just FRESH and real. Sadly, the longevity of all the Gap scents I had was not good at all. Sillage on all of these was excellent for 10 to 15 minutes, then they faded. I disagree with this being a "warm" scent. Dream was on the cooler edge of fragrances, being freesia/violet based. I also respectfully disagree with the comparison to Bath and Body Works Gingham. Gingham is a "cool" fragrance, but I feel it does not resemble Dream accurately. I would love to buy this again, although I am reading these reviews indicating that Gap scents are prone to spoiling over time.

I love the top notes on this and it does smell shower fresh, as it dries down on me I get the LOTV which I like in a mixture but don't like being able to identify it so much. It does smell like clouds would smell, when you first spray it. I loved it at first, it was ambrosia but the dry down on me is too floral and musk. and it lasts FOREVER on me. I wish it had short longevity, I'd be ready for another spray of the top and heart notes. Sadly it just won't go away during the day and it's too sweet for me for all day. Yes, I find it a bit sweet. Is it just me? So I'm on the fence with this one. I don't really enjoy it on me all day. Can't quite let it go. Maybe I'll try it as a bathroom spray. I went to college in the 80's. This has no childhood memories for me. Only looking for something fresh and found this. As you might imagine, not into today's pop star sugar bomb perfumes.

Ladies! I have a bottle of the Original Gap DREAM THe Purple one!! It is Full! Nobody Else has it. I found it while doing a random job in a hoarders house they abandoned. I have it up on Ebay as we speak . Just posted it this evening. Im pretty sure its the only one on the damn web... go check it out! Ill tell you as a guy...Honestly, I want to sell this spray to make money. however, I remember chicks in highschool smelling like this stuff and it absolutely drove me wild. I actually thought about keeping it and giving it to a special girl if i ever run into one. thats why the price is the way is is. other than the fact you CANT find the OG Formula Elsewhere. Its so good all you ladies used it up just as soon as ya got it.

I've been on the hunt for all of my past fragrances as I want to build a collection of nostalgia. This was one of the first perfumes that came to mind... I was surprised to discover that it was still sold at the Gap Outlet in Canada. I expected that I would smell it and it would be nothing like I remembered, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Immediately I was transported back to 2004 - Dorinha Jeans, MSN, sleepovers, dances .... It's amazing where fragrance can take us. It's definitely a juvenile scent and is quite abrasive to my nose. Citrusy and clean and youthful. I would never reach for something like this, but I will always keep it in my collection so I can time travel back to my childhood. <3

This is teenage girl stuff, if we're talking about the origional from 1994ish. Grass, Heaven and Dream came in five dollar mini spritz bottles. Dream is good, Heaven I remmeber being better. Dream I remmeber having a berry odor. Grass is unisex. Purchased these again, some are remakes. Ladies - Get the orgionals. These are all sexy and will attract men. Grass is delciious, but its also for men like me, that arent hairy and are more 'boyish'. I'm 45 and look 35. No chest hair. But I'm diesel and masculine as f**ck. Just got the boyish jeans. Younger guys that are like me, Grass is nice to add to other scents. I do think sweeter smells are easier for younger men/less hairy. Dream, Heaven, for girls.

MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE if youre gonna buy this perfume then get the vintage tall cylinder bottle with the periwinkle label dream. DO NOT get the new bottles with the white paper label; they are reformulated in my opinion. Its still the same but theres some unnecessary "citronella candle/ mens after shave foam cheap note" brought in with it at the opening but it kinda wears off after the top notes. My biggest regret in life is having paid only $10 at Ross and i went and returned everything back because i had overspent. Then i thought i would come back in 2 days and it would be there and never saw it ever again Now i see its going for $98& up online. Dam*dam*dam!

I forgot all about this stuff... I was thinking of all the fragrances I've owned, and I totally forgot this one. Funny, cause I have so many fond memories with this scent. I picked up one, lone body spray in Gap-- This one--and never sampled the others. I bought it on a whim and it was my lil teeange scent for awhile. Unfortunately, no one really gave good compliments on this one.. It's very fresh and has a spicy edge to it. You definitely won't smell this on anyone else, as it's a one of a kind scent and not many people wear it now days. Good fragrance for when spring is on it's way..

I just ordered body spray of this for $14. I wanted the perfume but it cost more I didn't have enough but I don't give a damn as long as I have this in collection any way shape or form! This is my favorite perfume.it just smells like 1995 junior high. It's a must have. Before there were celebrity scents there was Gap Dream. This fragrance will shit on any celebrity fragrance out right now hands down! I will defend this perfume with all my heart. Its crazy when a perfume brings back memories and dreamy nostalgia youthful feelings.
