I am so glad that this perfume is finally up for review. I love Gather, Gather is 1 of my favorite houses, natural or otherwise. This fragrance is one of my favorite fragrances that I own and I have a large collection that keeps growing. This is one of those fragrances that I would not want to live w/out, I love it that much. I wear this a lot, I wear it in winter, spring, summer, and fall. Day and night. This is a very sexy, sweet, spicy, mossy, woody and lush fragrance. The sweetness comes from the blood orange and ylang, ylang and it blend perfectly w/ the vanilla, spices, cedar moss and cedar wood to create perfume heaven. My husband loves this perfume as well and it is his favorite (along w/ Henry Roses Dark is Night) in my collection. I own 10 of Ananda's perfumes and I love them all. I wish this magazine would add more of her perfumes into their database. There aren't many all natural perfumers and they all should be highlighted more. I can understand being concerned w/ the cost of Ananda's perfumes but she does offer affordable samples and smaller bottles. And let me tell you since her fragrances are extracts they are well worth the money. You do not need a lot, a few drops for many of her creations is enough to last all day. Her juice is good value for money, trust me. Her fragrances are strong and they last. Ananda Wilson is a master at her craft and also a wonderful poet. Check out Gather's website and sample some of her wonderful creations and read her poetry, I don't think you will be disappointed.

I bought six samples, and this is my first review. Note: I'm not sure if this is true for all natural perfume houses, but these wear better on me after I did a sugar detox. Or maybe my sense of smell improved. Anyway, here are my thoughts. Yes, this is a spicy vanilla frag. I can't compare it to anything because it is unique. Its an uplifting, energetic fragrance. I would honestly consider dabbing Shakti behind my ears before a workout, it has that much 'oomph'. The basenote is a true cedar accord, so check your existing wardrobe to see how well you gravitate towards that.
