Calabria

Calabria perfume was launched in mid-2023 and reveals the passion that the brand's founder has for citrus notes. As he says: “a guilty pleasure”. The name is the same as the Italian region full of stories and where many people have passed through, including the Greeks, Romans, and Byzantines. It is also from there that we know a famous type of pepper (the result of a dehydration and crushing process) and, obviously, bergamot, whose soil guarantees an unparalleled quality to the fruit. The fragrance of the Calabria perfume was created by perfumers Vincent Kuczinski and Ugo Charron, from Mane. It has 23% concentration and brings notes of bergamot, grapefruit, black currant, and ginger, at the top. Then, in the body of the fragrance, notes of jasmine, tea, and evergreens come together with the strength of cardamom and the delicacy of the osmanthus flower. Finally, at the base, notes of musk and vanilla, in addition to the SantamanolTM and LorenoxTM molecules. The first reproduces the smell of sandalwood with more floral nuances, while the other has ambery, woody, and even leathery facets. On the skin, lots of freshness, vitality, and acidity. The grapefruit and currant add a bubbly, tart effect, but without a doubt, one of the trickiest aspects was getting the right spiciness. Ginger, although fresh, acts as a spice and reinforces this spicy effect. The cardamom brings a warmer, greener side, but the tea note fills the brain with a unique relaxing effect. It is an iced tea, with the aroma of apricots and grapefruit, full of succulence and energy. The base requires more density, it needs to keep us grounded. And even so, the result is slightly floral and creamy. Delicacy is the word! Calabria is a refreshing, cheerful perfume and ideal for those who love fragrances rich in tea. It's experiencing the beauty of the Italian coast, surrounded by friends and drinking a delicious, iced tea inspired by the famous local bergamot, with a touch of jasmine, and ginger, besides blackcurrant and apricot syrups, as well as delicate cardamom powder over lots of ice. On my skin, it exudes a lot and has good durability. It's not innovative, but it's the citrus hit that every fragrance collection needs to have. Bela!

Scent - I really want to like this fragrance but I don't detect anything other than lemon zest. It's not the kind of lemon zest that you put on top of a cake, but the bitter lemon oil that you spritz over the top of a martini glass. It's lovely and would be a beautiful start to the fragrance, but that's unfortunately all I get from it. Projection - One spray on each side of my neck, just above the collarbone, and it's pretty personal. Any more and my wife can smell me from a couple of feet away. Longevity - Applying the fragrance at 6:45 AM, I can still smell that lemon zest note at 8 PM. Incredibly longevity, as with all GN fragrances.
