San Remo Cologne

there's a sweetness in here, and some powderyness- makes me think of a pressed powder type hard candy... - the rose seems well blended and is almost fruity in how it comes forward. although it's a newer release (for a brand like this, it definitely is), i feel that classy old school vibe is loud and clear. (something this brand does well, if i can judge from Eucris alone, so far) It also brings to mind alot of interesting scents for me: it's got some elements of Habanita by Molinard (a slightly sour incense 'attack' up front, like a nag champa agarbathi), but also with it's flanker l'Espirit... (soft on the back end, reminiscent of clean fresh happy linens) But in another way, the opening of comme des garcons 2 man also reminds me of the very first thing that enters the nose on San Remo. Definitely worth a try. I got a cheaper sampler of all the Geo F. Trumpers by shopping on the shaving sites instead of the decant sites. your mileage may vary.

Had this for over two years now, I like it more now than when I first had it, not as in its ages better or anything but as in it's so nice to wear when I struggle to find a scent I fancy for the day. More a personal touch than a car filling windows down sorry kids vibe. I liked the description GTF wrote about this cologne's scent and on that I purchased it blind. Happy I did!. For me it was a grower though not an instant hit but wearing it today two years later I'm well pleased I have it be it only a quarter of 50ml left. Still getting the florals and freshness catching my nose and it's been on for 6hrs now. Today is a sunny but chilli spring day in the uk at chilled but warm in the sun 5°temp. This does smell like I imagine a cut open cactus or palm would smell. A bit fresh, a bit sweet and slightly refreshing with a little juice inside. Not like anything else I've smelled. Probably best for summer. It's a decent fragrance, like most from this excellent and underrated house

Smells weirdly bittersweet. Herbal and antiseptic.
