Skye

This is pretty strong stuff, not particularly refreshing, and I don't get the link to the Isle of Skye. Longevity is disappointing for an EDT - I get a maximum of 3 hours and then nothing. Smells much like a classical barbershop (that's right, the shop itself!) - to the point you could be mistaken for a barber when wearing this. That's not to say that it's no good; just don't buy it blindly. UPDATE: This perfume grows on you steadily. It's smooth, clean, creamy and unique. An enjoyable fragrance indeed, and one of the best out there. Period.

I love this one, I wear this and I am a woman. I would say this is a unisex fragrance. It is soft, and whimsical. And you can expect magick to occur when you wear this scent from another world! It is sent from another world!

Skye is like Smarties at first (American tiny sour candy version, not British), with a sourness on top of slightly musty florals...I guess this is their attempt to reconcile modern soapy aquatics with a Marlborough or EdC type, as others have speculated. The problem is that something in there is giving it a chemical, household-cleaner vibe, or maybe a touch of bug spray. That starts to dissipate, leaving more soapy citrus; amusingly similar to the top notes of Gendarme Sky. Objectively, it's very powdery, but for some reason that doesn't bother me here. Still, the over-sugared powderiness evokes an abstraction of gummy candies. Its strangeness intrigues me. If Portugal stole the top notes of Habit Rouge, this one may have stolen the base!

Fresh soapy musky lavender barbershop. Typical old school English silky vibes. I know lavender is not in the notes, but I get what seems like wafts of it. Like it and would wear it if I had a full bottle, but not a love. I'll just keep my 12ml decant and wear it every now and then to see if it grows on me. Scent: 7 / Sillage: 7.5 / Longevity: 7

A fresh powdery scent that is strong and light at the same time. Very different from other fougeres I have tested. This is a perfume fitted for both women and men. I actually tought Skye had some lemony notes at the top, for a moment it reminded me of toilet wash and citronella candles. But now I can smell the musk, ylang ylang and something a bit flowery. After a couple of hours the strong powderyness became too much. It did neither dry nore calm down. And it is really hard to wash off!

Violet/grape chewing gum, then Brylcreem/Vitalis. No.

I was given a sample recently, and whilst I have sniffed the contents, today is the first occasion I've applied it. And, this is like household cleaner. All I can hear in my head is: "Do the shake'n vac, and put the freshness back..." Pretty unpleasant if I'm honest. And thoroughly out of character for this venerable perfume house.

Classic conservative basic citrus cologne with a semi-sweet musky base. Im pretty sure there’s lots of neroli and lavender, even if not listed above. Decent stuff, as all Trumper offerings. Very good longevity for this kind of scent profile. I have to say, I’m utterly impressed with this house, i feel like they use top quality ingredients, lots of naturals and really know what they are doing. Trumper has it’s own DNA running through all their colognes which is conservative, british, has a silky touch and is very barbershopy. Their colognes reek of a grown up man who has his life in order and is decently dressed though. Nothing youth- or playful or mass appealing, boys stay clear.

Got two samples of this so I give it a few shots before making up my mind after the initial bust of repulsion I felt upon first smelling it! I love the bottle design... it's elegant! I love the name... Skye... what could be a more perfect name for a summer fragrance... it's even blue!! And a pretty soft pale blue at that!! Alas why do I smell like I've just smeared myself with BRYLCREEM Original hair product. This scent makes me think of an older gentleman with greasy hair! I won't be buying a bottle of it anytime soon!!!

All trumpers fragrances have a tangible silkiness to their composition that is quite unique compared to other fragrances. You can feel it as you apply to your face. Skye is really refreshing and extremely soapy. I like it alot. I always get compliments when wearing this one. I love trumpers, floris of london and penhaligons as their products always represent a classic gentleman's grooming regime.

Nice relaxing 4711 type scent with a smidge of sweetness and lots of hair cream. Reminds me of my youth when I had teddy boy style quiff. Ahhh the power of fragrance to evoke nostalgia. If di parma colonia met brylcreem over a sugared donut.

I can’t explain how or why, but this is the most British scent I’ve ever experienced.
