Donna

Absolutely lovely 80s Italian fragrance, very reminiscent of the 80s and its sheer exuberance, in everything that it stood for, with regards to classic, well made fragrances that stand out. Marigold is one of my favourite notes as its warm and sensual and here it doesn't disappoint and the base notes of Sandalwood, Musk and Vanilla; keep this so grounded and prohibits Donna from being overly floral..Which I truly appreciate as LOTV and Jasmine are listed. And they are truly beautiful, as they add a crispness and an elegant lightness, in leiu of the woody sandlewood backbone and musk that is slightly smoky. And last but not least the Violet and Iris flowers tame the LOTV and give Donna a really nice, delicate powderiness, which is nice and nothing like a baby powder. More like lightly scented designer talcum powder.

I can’t believe there are no reviews on this. I thought it looked interesting and there is a decent amount on eBay so I bought one. It’s beautiful, white floral with definite green violet leaf. I’m not getting any sandalwood, vanilla or musk. The dry down is more green that you’d expect from the notes. Reminds me of a more sweet Jolie Madam and less cigarette-y.

Powdery woods. My vintage vial has spoiled but you can still smell some good stuff here.
