Ghost Dream

On initial application I can detect heliotrope and rose quite prominently with a salty aquatic note in the background which if I had to guess was a combo of ambroxan and the "water note". The fragrance is very pretty and non offensive so it would take a lot to hate this one. After a few minutes the orange blossom and violet come out to play with a quite light and soapy jasmine. The heliotrope is still the most obvious note I can detect. It has taken me a while to figure out where I have smelt something like this before and it is Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream! Ghost Dream is slightly lighter and more aquatic but same ball park hence the name no doubt.

Opens like a fresh fruity floral, but quickly the patchouli base takes over, and the fragrance transforms into a beautiful patchouli-heliotrope. The touch of salt, violet, musk and damp earthy patchouli makes it rather cold, while still being fluffy and cuddly from the heliotrope and rose. Pretty unusual. This is the only fragrance that reminds me somewhat of the rare Ange ou Démon Tendre. Angelic, ethereal beauty.

Just got this for a great price.Absolutely love it, true it doesn't stomp any new ground but each ingredient melds together to create a beautiful rose,patchouli and creamy woods combo.Best I've smelt from Ghost by far ❤️

There is something really ethereal about this one It reminds me of Nosferatu because of the violet and aqua note, but it is more wearable. It is fresh and wet and floral but in a magical way.

Got this as a blind buy just yesterday from Boots in the UK. I never hesitate buying Ghost fragrances, the only disaster I had was Captivating, but perhaps that bottle had gone off as to me it smelt like cat pee! Strange though, it wasn't old. ANYWAY!! I really like Ghost fragrances, they are for the most part all very wearable and inoffensive, although longevity is always on the poor side and sillage is next to nothing. What can I say, I'm hooked for reasons I can't explain! I was really looking forward to this one, wasn't really sure what to expect, but the bottle sucked me in! On initial spray I found it very chemically and to be honest, none too pleasant. Then the rose started to come through as the prominent smell and it really reminded me of Gaultier Madame EDP (black box) which to be honest, I don't like. Hope was fading fast. Then it changed again, this time to what reminded me of Glade Touch n Fresh bathroom air freshener in Clean Linen! Next incarnation was fabric softener - I can't be more specific on this one with an actual brand of softener or an exact scent, but I was left thinking of a pile of towels that had just come out of the tumbler dryer when they have what I can only describe as a warm, fluffy smell. Does that make sense? I hope so. I kept sniffing and sniffing at my arm - it was reminding me of something else, a kind of combination of all these things, of an older perfume from my past. What was it?? And then I remembered - Avon Stonewashed Blue! Many of you will likely not even remember it, it isn't even on the Fragrantica database. But I assure you, it DID exist! Avon did this whole range of what they called Comfort Scents, and Stonewashed Blue was a reminder of the days when you slipped on your favourite pair of jeans and just felt relaxed and at home. And it came flooding back to me, how even back then, I thought Stonewashed Blue smelt of fabric conditioner and fluffy towels, just like I get from this! And in that moment, I felt happy. It was like meeting up with an old friend who you haven't seen for ages, you both look a little different, but the relationship you always had is still there. You hug each other, and know that despite changes over the years, you're with somebody you can relax and be yourself with - THIS is what I get from Dream! A familiarity of times past, a hug, a fluffy jumper keeping you warm on a cold day, a happy, dream like smell, a pile of fresh towels to snuggle up in when you've just got out of the bath, it's quite lovely, albeit in a fabric conditioner kind of way! For me, it isn't ground breaking, neither is it stunning. It's just a very pretty, cuddly perfume that makes me smile. I used to love Stonewashed Blue, and now, I almost have it back thanks to Ghost. It's not identical, but it's close enough, I'll take it! :)

Something in this reads as freesia/pink pepper and it might be the ambroxan, or the 'watery' notes. I'm finding it a challenge for something I thought would be easy to love, so right now, not a favorite. I'm hoping that letting this one hang around and get tested under varying conditions will improve my perception of Dream. It reminds me A LOT of Lancome's Idole L'intense, and a little of Derek Lam Love Deluxe, or the original L'agent Provocateur (not carbon copies but in the same family.) Update June '24: I like this a lot. I'm more into aquatic scents now and this is nice!

I bought this one blind because of the pretty bottle, and the fragrance notes looked like something I would love. That said, I didn't fall in love with it the first two times I tried it on. It just smelled so powdery that I struggled to pick up anything else in the scent. Today was a chilly autumn day, so I decided to try it again after I soaked in a bath with rose and lavender bath salts. The effect was much better, with the powder giving way a little more to the florals. So in future I might help this fragrance along a bit to let it come into its own.

Dislike to like in 22°C weather. Fresh in a not obvious way. A dreamy watery rose-violet with musk. Clean and spacious. Eerie - so fitting for a Ghost child. I feel also a bit of a very clean patchouli giving it depth. It accompanies my evening and is very fitting. I felt it for 4 hours then I was asleep. It develops like a flowerchouli with the rose, jasmine, patchouli blend. In a way similar to Maya by Tocca, Miss Dior 2012 but with watery notes and it is lighter, very subtle.

Pleasant scent, and quite dreamy indeed. The scent matches the colour of the bottle very well. Initially this has a watery floral quality to it, but it becomes more earthy as it dries down and the patchouli starts to come through. Nice enough, even though it is not groundbreaking there is something unusual about it, and it is certainly a good option at this price point.

I managed to grab a 30ml bottle of this perfume for £12.99 at Savers, not thinking it would be anything special. But at first sniff I was surprised by how much I liked it. It's a comforting clean crisp scent but has slight floral undertones to it. It's not my favourite fresh scent I have in my collection, but it's definitely worth picking up if on offer. :)

This to me is a lovely fluffy aquatic if that makes any sense. The name fits it well. The white floral don't smack you in the face which I appreciate. I think its the heliotrope giving it a fluffy cuddly feel but it is still airy. Fragrantica need to update the database because there are 5 of these flankers (I own all 7) but only 5 are listed .

I'm having right side/left side issues with this one. My left-hand wrist/arm always picks up the warmer, more comforting side of a perfume and my right is always the more spikey top notes. And there is definitely a poke-you-in-the-eye pointy jabby side to this perfume. If it were that alone it would be a scrubber. Something of the funky musky poke of Mugler Angel... But the softer side is quite lovely - a softly sugared powder floral with a hint of saltiness. It's clean I guess, but a bit 'meh' for me. Probably won't keep.

Really wasn’t keen when I first applied - very strong generic floral scent which I found a bit mature for me (27f). It definitely does get better throughout the day and I can catch more subtle notes of citrus and rose. Overall the worst of the ghost scents I have tried as the others are lovely.

Sweet promises of many of my favourite ingredients led me to have high hopes of what this pretty bottle held inside. I tried a generous squirt at my local Boots yesterday and the dream was shattered. No violet, no patchouli, no Egyptian rose and no jasmine. All I was left with was a musky dull fragrance that lacked the excitement and layers of pleasure I was expecting. Not even worth buying on special offer.

Smelt this one today ,it's a very clean crisp floral scent ,the violet sits well with the aquatic notes ,one good safe buy! This one is an EDP too !
