Ferre for Men

ferre for men is one of the best releases of the last 15 years. it is a perfect combo of iris, floral and oakmoss. the iris is more masculine compared to dior homme, the rose, the patchuli and sandalwood are so well blended to give you a fantastic, classy, gentleman vibe. it is very italian and modern. the powderiness is gorgeous without the "make up bag" taste. this scent is so underrated, i cant understand why. maybe only the great SCENTLAND is still talking about this masterpiece, ferre for men deserves more hype for sure. the performance is good, nothing impressive in terms of projection and longevity, just average. better for winter and fall, casual and nightout situations. i found for a great price in a little store after years of searching, this is not so easy to find. is it discontinued? i hope is still in production. un profumo eccezionale, vellutato e virile allo stesso tempo. scent-9 long-7,5 sillage-7,5 uniqueness-8,5 versatility-8 bottle-8 compliment factor-7 my vote-9 in one word- charming

Elegant and understated...especially the excellent drydown. For those occasions when you just want to wear something for yourself without worrying about the rest of the world. Ferre (2006) somehow reminds me of Xeryus Mythique. Two very different bottles from two different eras yet both evoke the same frame of mind. Ferre for Men is similar in structure to Dior Homme (thank you, gas chromatography), but I prefer the former. Where Dior Homme strives for minimalism, Ferre for Men not only increases the number of notes but also complements them (again, thanks, gas chromatography!); somewhat like getting Frankie Valli in Dior, the entire Four Seasons in Ferre. It is a definite improvement on DH (because I like it better)...but it's not Dior...and for most people, that's the end of the discussion.

This is another fragrance I have to pull out the "shed" aka the cologne stash. If you love iris, well look no further. Now at first, I was like...do I need another Dior-ish frag...????? Well, this gives you a switch-a-roo. It gives more of a citrus tone to this with a touch of vanilla to give it an oriental feel as well in the background--not too much. What that means for us? Basically, it is an all year fragrance. Now, it is not too powdery though to my nose. It is just enough to notice that iris note and appreciate all notes that makes this feel like a walk in a beautifully landscape backyard. Many Dior fans would have to ask, "Excuse me, what fragrance are you wearing? It smells good. For real." P.S. Price is super good for what you get...IJS= I'm just saying ;) YT ShavenontheDarkside

This is an Excellent Fragrance and A Hidden Gem ! Masculine, Modern, Fruity, Clean and Floral. It has High Quality Composition with reasonable price, A MASTERPIECE by Pierre Bourdon and Gianfranco Ferre House. Nowadays It is very Rare and hard to find. It doesn't smell similar to lipstick or women cosmetics ! It opens up with semi sweet fruity and floral notes in the background then dry down is a bit powdery sweet, musky , mossy and woody. It is sweet but It is not cloying. This perfume is perfect for the all seasons. I really enjoy it and I fell in love with first sniff. I'm so glad that I have it in my collection. Longevity is Average, Highly Recommended. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Monsieur Pierre Bourdon ! Rating : 8 / 10

Soft, delicate and classy. These are the words that I use to describe Ferre. The fragrance starts out sweet initially but soon dries down to a delicate scent. I don't think sillage is that great so this is one to wear when you feel there is no need to really stand out and where you want to simply have a scent for yourself and have someone close to you notice you as well. For the price, you can't go wrong as I don't think this is a fragrance that will offend anyone. This is not really a casual everyday type of fragrance but one to wear where you want to step out in front of people without having your fragrance scream at them. Wearing this to places like church, weddings, dinner parties, etc. would be ideal.

This is a very sophisticated fragrance. So refined and stylish that its difficult to put into words. It does NOT remind me of any mainstream scents of nowadays. Soft but but at the same time displaying a great character and definitely manly. Usually I dont like powdery fragrances and also dont like pineapple but somehow Pierre Bourdon managed to create a blend which is totally satisfying. Also, the use of oakmoss is just done right. In the drydown phase it stays persistent and satisfies with a discrete presence. Timeless value with great sillage and staying power! Definitely one of my favourite fragrances which suits any weather and any occasion! Bravo!

I bought Ferre for Men blind and thought that it will be similar to Dior Homme (which I don ́t like). I am happy that it has exactly 0 percent similarity to Dior Homme. I get a very elegant, iris, rose, pineapple combination. It ́s much more comparable to Creed Aventus than to Dior Homme. The pineapple here is made very well. The whole scent projects very soft, almost cautious. It does ́t scream here I am, but it says, I am with you, if you stay by my side. Feminine, no. This is pure elegance, made for an evening dinner in the Restaurant.

Ferre for Men is quite romantic scent; perfectly fit its olfactive group. It's soft and smooth without being powdery. Floral and fruity notes blend together to create slightly sweet and dreamy scent. I get a bit of the similarity from Moschino Uomo? and maybe YSL L'Homme too, but Ferre for Men is smoother and more subtle but it can get waxy. I can see myself wearing this very often but it's too bad I only have the 1oz bottle.

Well blended. None of the notes really jump out at you but they work well in combination. I was surprised that leather isn't among the notes but that's the vibe I get: 50% leather, 25% spices and vetiver, and 25% soft florals. I usually don't go for floral notes, but I'll make an exception for this one.

Stylish and elegant perfection! I dont get pineapple, theres nothing zesty about this fragrance, its dense, bit powdery, with the most beautiful rose I have smelled so far in any fragrance. Its standing on a manly, intelligently base of oakmoss and tonka. Its performance is superior! Bravo Bourdon!

.....I am always coming back to this beauty. Its so gorgeous and well blended that it does actually slowly makes itself crawling into my top 5. Romantic, smooth & classy in contemporary manner! One of the most intelligently composed designer scents I know.

@arvanitispanos its worth every penny. I was unimpressed at first but i found myself going for it every time. There are colognes that at first will blow your mind but then you find it to be too much and practically unwearable. This is the exact opposite.

A very suave and sophisticated male fragrance most suitable for the office or warmer days. Imagine Creed Aventus and Dior Homme Eau had a child, this would be it and better! Gianfranco Ferre issues are excellent but underrated!

Guys you are victims of olfactory fatigue or you used fake bottles. This fragrance has a great development which delivers various stages of the perfume throughout the entire day, on clothes even longer.

I am absolutely LOVING my splash samples that I ordered. Wow! What a gem! I would love to have a full bottle of this someday! Get your nose on this one. Classic yet modern... feel-good frag.

Oakmoss, oakmoss, everywhere - and in a good way. This for me is the oakmoss king. That aside, it's very "coloney", very airy, very clean cut and neat smelling. Perfect for office use.
