Acqua di Giò Eau de Parfum Intense

if you want aqcua di gio for spring go with elixir. Also it does last 8 hours on skin you can still smell it if you smell yourself after 8 hours, a long lasting skin scent, but i know in summer this gonna be a banger, this is for a confident man who doesnt wanna call attention to himself on purpose, he just does, you make this fragrance it doesnt make you, this does give you a little confident boost tho, since it smell so nice and manly intense only in name and duration tho, not projection that being said i have very dry skin, other aqcua di gios smell like rotten egg on me after a while or even the parfum in the opening for me, this and the elixir dont do that, these are the easiest blind buys for a beginner from aqcua di gio they smell great and elegant, 8-9 sometimes even 10 hours on skin, but projects for 1 hour max, also dry down might turn sour, salty or that cannabis note everybody is talkin about but thats just the clary sage brought over from the edp, but yeah; it smellls a lil bit like that on some people specially if you sweat, but for me after 8-9 hours it turns amberwoody with a lil bit of that fruityness and just smells like a reminiscent shower smell that refuses to leave your skin

I love AdG Absolu and Invictus in general and this smells very similar to those two. The bubblegum sweetness is definitely there and this brings all the memories of those two back. In the opening this is going to smell like Acqua di Gio, but 15-20 minutes in it starts to smell closer to Rabanne Invictus Acqua/OG Invictus. It's definitely crisp, oceanic and just a slight fruitiness from the apple. Overall, I get major bubblegum vibes throughout life of the scent. This is a mass appealing scent, the sweetness, slight fruitiness and playfulness will appeal to a lot of people. Performance is okay, I get great projection the first hour and longevity is about 6-8 hours, probably closer to 8 in summer.

Ok so here is my review, it has been a while since I have been on Fragrantica: I would NOT know this is an ADG line if I just blindly smelled it but that being said I think this is a very good cologne. It is nothing that is going to set the world on fire but I give it a very solid 8.5/10 and plan to purchase it eventually. I think the best comparison I can give it is that Bond No. 9 HTTP fragrance that was their online exclusive back in 2013. It reminds me of that without the smoke note. I wouldn't recommend just blind buying this, I tested it at Macy's so you can probably smell it there. This is a very safe scent but the quality you expect from ADG makes it a worthy purchase in my opinion.

I didn't smell so many fragrances So for me this was great Its opening is heavy on the apple and a decent amount of pergamot with it to give it a fruity-citrusy watery vibe The dry down brings the woods first while keeping the apple with it Then comes the amber which very much reminds of the amber dry down in ysl edp I still prefer this though Performance wise I still can't judge cuz I had worn it outside in high heat so it evaporated faster than it should . But with that I got more than 5 hours So in normal days it might last longer 8.5 out of 10 for me Might get higher if it grows on me

This stuff is awesome! Just got it in and it’s a slightly sweeter version of the OG ADG edt mixed with the slightest hints of Ysl Y wouldn’t say edp maybe a bit but has some ysl Y characteristics in it. I’ve never smelled Armani ADG absolu so idk if this is the “new” version of that. It’s awesome and so far 7-8 hours in still can smell it but doesn’t push so much.

I truly loved this fragrance. I’ve been a fan of the entire Acqua di Giò line, and I couldn’t wait to try this one. It is, without a doubt, one of the finest creations out there. If you have the chance, you absolutely should experience it. It’s just a shame that it hasn’t had a full rollout yet in the United States or Mexico

This smells like a mix of Absolu and the EDP. The EDP was my least favorite in the line and I loved absolu but it was kind of too sweet. This is perfect! Absolutely love this one. It lasts super well on me too! I wish I had a bigger bottle.

I finally figured out what this reminds me of, it is Creed's Asian Green Tea from around 2014. I have an old bottle laying around and I sampled both arms and it feels pretty identical to me.

Defiantly my favorite ADG. Love the opening of this one. Longevity could be a bit better but it was my first time trying it.

For me, this is the best ADG. It feels fresh while also keeping sweet accents, perfect for casual wear and social hangouts.

Take the original, modernize it, and crank it to 11. Not worth buying the original EDT (or EDP) when this exists.

This is probably the best Acqua di Gio so far, in my opinion. My boyfriend fell in love with it instantly!

I love it. Very versatile masculine modern scent for warmer days. Aromatic, Fruity and Citrus dominant.

Could this be the return of absolu?

As a long-time devotee of Acqua di Giò Absolu, my expectations were understandably high when I finally got my hands on Acqua di Giò Eau de Parfum Intense. Absolu has been my signature scent for the past six years, a fragrance that perfectly balanced the iconic aquatic freshness of the line with a deeper, richer warmth that felt both refined and addictive. As I was running out of my last bottle, I genuinely hoped EDP Intense might step in as a worthy successor. On the initial spray, I was genuinely surprised. The opening felt remarkably familiar, I would estimate it to be about 80% similar to Absolu in the first 30 minutes. The recognizable Acqua di Giò DNA is clearly present: fresh, marine, slightly aromatic. However, Intense quickly reveals a stronger fruity facet. The green apple is more pronounced here brighter, juicier, and sharper, giving the opening a livelier, slightly more youthful character. As the fragrance transitions into the heart and drydown, the resemblance begins to fade significantly. Where Absolu develops into a richer, deeper, almost creamy and woody warmth, EDP Intense remains fresher and more fruit-forward. The darker, more sensual undertones that gave Absolu its weight and signature depth are toned down. At this stage, the similarity drops to around 50% in my experience. The two fragrances begin to feel like distant relatives rather than close twins. This is not to say Intense is a poor release, far from it. It feels modern, wearable, and very much aligned with current mainstream preferences. It will likely appeal to a broader audience and perform well in warmer settings. But as a replacement for Absolu, it doesn’t quite capture that same depth and emotional weight. For those who loved Absolu’s richer backbone, Intense may feel like a lighter reinterpretation rather than a true evolution. For now, I’m left with mixed feelings: a hint of disappointment at the absence of that beloved depth, but also curiosity about whether this fresher, fruit-driven character will grow on me with more wear. Some fragrances reveal their charm gradually. Time will tell if this is one of them.

As I mentioned in my Profondo EDT review, everyone should take Fragrantica reviews with a truckload of salt. Acqua di Giò has clearly moved in a modern direction with both sides of the line, the original branch with EDP Intense and Elixir, and the Profondo branch with Profondo EDT. Remember, gentlemen: this era of perfumery is about fruitiness and synthetic freshness. Just like they did with The One line, they’ve modernized ADG as well. This release is essentially a fruity, modern take on the classic Acqua di Giò DNA. While Profondo EDT is the fresh, synthetic evolution of Profondo, this one feels like the fruity reinterpretation of the original. Personally, I could never wear the older ADG. To me it smelled dated, with that sour rotten egg marine note that a lot of older aquatics had. I respect the era it came from, but in my opinion it feels outdated today. This, however, is beautiful. It keeps the Acqua di Giò DNA but removes that sour marine note and replaces it with a fruity freshness. The result is fresh, clean, and sexy, very much suited for the modern man. Along with Profondo EDT, these are the only ADG fragrances I would personally wear today. My only negative is the longevity. I rarely complain about performance since 90% of people online are nose blind and overspray anyway, choking everyone around them. Still, calling this Intense feels a bit misleading. That said, the scent itself is fantastic. Beautiful and sexy. Acqua di Giò is back, for the modern man.

This is essentially a mix of the old Absolu and the EDP. It opens with similar sweet profile to Absolu but with less of that “bubblegum” character that many compared to Invictus. You briefly get the signature bergamot but that almost immediately turns to an aromatic apple that sticks with the scent for most of its lifespan. It then dries down to resemble more of the wood elements of EDP but without the deeper herbal notes that I honestly wasn’t a big fan of. This one hangs close to the skin and isn’t quite the strongest projection wise. Seems to perform in the 4-6 hour range, not the worst but not the “intense” its name indicates. If you like the sweeter aspects of the Acqua di Gio line or want a flanker in the same ball park of Absolu, then this release will satisfy. You may be less of a fan if you side more with the deeper and aquatic notes that you find in Parfum and Profondo. There really isn't anything in this scent though that speaks "intense". It's a solid fragrance but Armani has lost the plot with naming and just the nature of its releases. I think we all would be happier if they just kept Profumo, classic Profondo, and Absolu over this chaotic release cycle and naming of these flankers.
