Acqua di Giò Eau de Parfum

I love the opening. Beautiful green and woody note that helps bring ADG up in age and in line with where many of us who had the OG back in the day are at now in our lives. I know it gets said by YouTubers like Ashton (who's probably the same age as me), but i can still distinctly remember the air in every late night college bar being thick with acrid cigarette smoke and ADG. When I was in highschool, everyone who wore fragrances wore polo blue sport. Like ADG, that scent is burned in my head and it takes me for a trip anytime I catch even the faintest whiff. In college, every one of my buddies had a bottle of ADG in their room. I mean literally every single one of the many people I lived in the dorms with or shared a house with, or the people we were all friends with as well. And I actually had a lot of friends back then! I totally forgot about how much fun it was before life became one or two tracks only... Enjoy it if you're still living it... Right. So everyone had it... And that's why I never owned it... In fact, I remember telling people I thought it sucked. Yup. I was an ADG troll/hater just because it was so damn ubiquitous. The same way so many others are today about fragrances like MYSLF (which is f'ing awesome and totally undeserving of the all the hate it gets, btw). Was I pissed that everyone had the same awesome scent so based purely on the principle of needing to be better than everyone else I couldn't possibly have it as well? Yeah, secretly, I remember wishing it wasn't everywhere and hating that women seemed to love it so much. So I wore a bunch of other fragrances as my signature. I think I wore Burberry brit mostly, but I also think YSL L'homme had just come out around the same time. I did well for myself and it wasn't really a big deal (I did already point out that I was better than everyone else and there's nothing cooler than being the one jerk who had to point out how everyone else wore the same meathead fragrance). Anyway, all these years later, I finally found an ADG that isn't worn by literally everyone I know and doesn't make my eyes burn as a psychosomatic response from spending too many late nights in smoke-filled bars with good friends, cheap beer, and lots of incredibly horny sorority girls (I'm telling the story so you'll have to assume it's true). Man, what a cliche. Man, being middle-aged and longingly reminiscing about college is even more of a cliche... I'm literally a cliche from a sitcom at this point. So yeah, the EDP is the happy ending: an ADG that matches my age and it isn't everywhere! Too bad the performance sucks though... Oh well, nothing is perfect. Seriously, it really is awful though. Skin scent after two hours. Maybe it pushes better in the heat - i don't know. Either way, for two hours, it's awesome 👍. Damn, I would gladly wear the OG if it meant I could go back to the early 2000's again for even just one night. I'm going to pour out the EDP on the curb for my homies (I think that was a thing back then), chug a colt 42, rock the EDT and pray to Peter Griffin and Brian to show up and teleport me back to the University at Albany circa 2001. Just not on or directly after September 11... Ok, 2002 or 2003, but not when i had that seriously insane girlfriend somewhere around that time. Yeah, like those 2-6 months when I was at the prime of my life 😎. Sweet.

Wow. It’s actually something I don’t remember to hear in designer fragrances at all. Absurdly photo-realistic fresh flower leaves right after watering in a high humidity flower shop, with full-blasting AC to create the perfect climate. Sometimes it changes to a crushed between fingers grass. Also, the smell reminds me of mint shampoo freshness, which was applied inside an open shower on the beach, but without a single hint of chemical nature. Very interesting mix of aquatic notes and greens It’s actually not a perfume, but a climate changer that you can rely on throughout the day. Just one breath and you'll instantly find yourself in a cold flower shop, whether you want it or not. It’s technically impossible to have such properties and be natural at the same (mineral and aquatic notes together should give some lifeless smell, like wet rocks or something) but it’s here, and it’s perfect One of the coolest summer fragrances so far. I’m wondering to test it during high heat, but can’t imagine it to be anything other than a masterpiece. And like it always is, it’s very hard to say a lot of good words about something you truly admire, rather than to make fun of or to drag through the mud a controversial fragrance Actually, I found a negative point and want to mention it: the price is absurd - 95 euros for 30ml. Are you crazy? Some artisan quality niche fragrances cost the same price per ml. It doesn’t make the composition bad, but 95 EUROS!!!

Just received it: I think it's closest to the original and Profondo with a stronger hint of lavender. There is also something that vaguely reminds me of Hermes H24, perhaps the Clary Sage? Furthermore there is almost certain a bit of Ambroxan in here, which i personally do not mind as it is not overpowering. Undoubtedly an ADG Flanker and not just an amped-up version of the OG. Great replacement for the OG or somebody who wants a bit more mature / Ambroxan version of Profondo. I own every ADG except for Profondo Lights. Comparing everything i'd say it does not have very much in common with Essenza of Profumo (except for the base DNA) if that's what you after. Also not really close to Absolu or Absolu instict either. @smoothsubtlescents, yes there is benzyl benzoate in this Edit: I have to agree with Ranessin, it is actually quite ambroxan heavy in the drydown leaning towards a Dior Sauvage type smell. So if you like both Profondo and Dior Sauvage, this should be something for you

I own the old formulation. How people get any strange odor from this.... I can only imagine their idea of the ocean is a swimming pool and think bell peppers are spicy. Take reviews on this app with a grain of salt. Any strange odors usually come from skin chemistry not the scent itself unless you’re diving into niche which can definitely get weird. This is excellent. The new version is spicier to me whereas the older batch comes off more refreshing and clean from citrus and mineral notes. Both are good. I have probably the last batch of the original juice produced in July of 2023. It comes in a clear 200ml bottle, plastic cap with Giorgio Armani displayed at the base and not under the Gio. From my research, my bottle was a mid manufacturing bottle before the new juice was introduced along with new bottle design that went into production in winter of 2023. Fun fact.

Acqua di Giò EDP is one of those fragrances that just works effortlessly. From the first spray, it hits you with this fresh marine-herbal opening that instantly feels like a crisp sea breeze. It’s bright, clean, and extremely wearable. Visualize it like you are viewing the Amalfi coast with the hints of bergamot, citrus and herbs. What I love most is how it evolves. The heart notes of herbs and subtle florals give it depth, while the base dries down to a soft, warm muskiness that lingers gently on the skin. It’s refreshing yet grounded, perfect for the city or a seaside escape. Compared to other colognes in my collection, like YSL Y EDP or Aventus Absolu, ADG EDP is comforting and approachable, like it was made for everyday life. It’s clean but still has personality—a balance that’s hard to find.

I own both the EDP and Parfum (2024 version) because of how good the ADG DNA is. This is more aquatic/citrusy than the Parfum, whereas the Parfum is more mature, dark and aromatic. Both are great, but I wish the longevity and sillage of the EDP was better. Price is OK, seeing that I got the 200ml bottle for less than €100,- which is a good deal IMO Usually wear the EDP as a daily in warmish weather or hotter in summer (20°C+), the Parfum is better suited for fall/spring and hot summer nights Note that all the ADG flankers are quite similar in their notes/blend, but after owning both they are definitely different if you smell them side by side

This is a 🥰 for me All thanks to that power blast of geranium and kiss of mandarin, with Profumo I felt the incense & patchouli were so prominent that it consequently becomes its own propriety tool; I don’t have any incense/patchouli shower products.. with EDP I can shower with Aesop Geranium, do my morning home routine(yoga, breakfast,espresso), put on edp, and walk out the door with a decant of Amouage Opus X. Imho ADG EDP potency is on par with Opus X. One spray behind one ear will be smelled 12 hours later. The liquid sticks to the skin like barnacles to a pier.

This fragrance is quite brilliant. It is an Eau de Parfum concentration which has Parfum performance. I suggest using it in mainly spring and summer but perhaps fall as well. My father put me on to this cologne. I really enjoy its scent and it remains my most complimented fragrance. It is somewhat addicting to smell. Citrusy, aquatic and manly. My second favorite fragrance in my collection at the moment. Underrated in my opinion. 8.5/10. - The Last Air Sniffer

Extremely versatile scent, perfect for summer everyday wear. The opening has sort of a bitter citrus vibe to it while remaining very fresh. If you're looking for an Acqua di Gio you can't go wrong with this one. The only thing I'd complain about is the mediocre sillage. Also a great beginner fragrance if you're relatively new to the fragrance world like me. Smell: A Longevity: B+ Versatility: A Wearability: A+ Sillage: B Overall Score: A

Smells great. Strong watery orange off the top with a slight airy herbal undertone. The oceanic/citrus combo is the star of the show for me. I really enjoy it, and it would be an instant buy if my Wife wasn't immediately turned off by any oceanic based colognes. I enjoyed this more than the original profondo (Profondo is harder on bright citrus, less classy.) and the EDT. Great summer frag, but could be worn all year easily.

8/10 fragrance for me. Perfect for late spring and summer. Works really well with the heat. I wear this to the office when i need something clean and crisp. I quite enjoy the base notes of mineral + patchouli + vetiver. I respray this between 3-4 hours if I'm still outdoors/in office. I especially wear this for important meetings. It gives a good clean impression whilst not overpowering the room.

Fantastic stuff! It’s sweet but slightly sour and aromatic. IMO it doesn’t get much better than this for a fresh masculine fragrance you car wear to the office or out and about. Longevity is good enough, somewhere around 8-10 hrs. It’s bold and unapologetic whereas Profondo always felt like it was trying to fit in to other blue freshies. This is the GOAT alongside Profumo/Parfum.

For a long time, Profumo was my favorite, but then I gave this flanker a try. This is the original DNA, but made more modern and more mature. It smells so damn refined due to the mineral accord the geranium and the vetiver. This is a dumb reach for me when I just want to smell sophisticated, classy, timeless and still mature, fresh and unique. Love it.

When i first tried this, I could not stop smelling it. The scent takes you right into the water and it lasts for a good time. Fresh, deep marine, unisex. Its NOT the chlorine pumped swimming pool or the sea weed infested beach im talking about. Its the deep sea. A blue, clean marvel that takes you headfirst into the waters. Wow is this good.

I don’t understand the hate to it. I love this one, smells beautifully fresh, natural and not overly oceanic. Don’t smell any weed on my skin and mineral note is not as prominent as people are saying. Maybe the 2023 batch is reformulated, who knows... Performance is great, lasts all work day with solid projection. I’d rate it as 9/10.

An excellent fragrance for indoors use, but the minute you go outside every other scent mutes this one. ADG EDP is a very fresh scent, like you just got out of the shower. Longetivity for me is great, can still get a whiff of it when getting home after a long day. Office friendly, modern scent for pretty much everyone.

Pros: - Good performance. 6-8 hours on my skin. 2-3 hours of projection - Extremely fresh citrussy floral scent. Was my gym scent for half a year. Mass appealing nice scent Cons: - A strange synthetic undertone developed after around 5 months of wearing - There are better alternatives in the line (parfum) 7.5/10

A very safe, masculine aquatic scent with notes of citrus. It smells like modern money and could absolutely work as a daily driver for school or the office. I don't get the funky and herbaceous notes that people are talking about, I get pleasant citrus, oceanic and mineralic notes. Can't go wrong with this one.

Best in the line up to me. Smells classy. Wealthy people don’t wear loud in your face fragrances. They wear subtle smooth beautiful and classy fragrances. This is one of them. This on a sunny day is hard to beat. It’s similar to Dior homme sport to me but Dior performs better but Armani smells better. 8/10

If you take the florals out of the original Acqua Di Gio Eau De Toilette add a mineral edge and slightly modernize it then you basically have the Eau De Parfum. A very solid fragrance as always with the Acqua Di Gio line. It does what it’s supposed to do well, longer lasting and a more modern take.

So classic. So versatile. Wearing to work...Hot steamy day...nonstop compliments. It works for casual or dress up. It’s such a familiar scent, people always ask what I’m wearing. All these ADG flankers are quite similar. This and Profumo are my favs. Performance and Sillage are spectacular.

This one has really grown on me. Someone below mentioned “dumb reach.” I get that. I’ve actually been wearing this in the cold and the metallic dry down really pops. My teen kids asked me what I was wearing yesterday...they bought it for me last year..and love it on me. Great flanker

Its better when left to macerate for a couple of months after opening. I find it a smoother mineral ozonic fresh uplifting scent. Moderate performance not beastly but neither will it offend anyone. If you want to smell clean and fresh like a fresh spring breeze then buy this.

Love this one. I have the original bottle and I dont get any of the notes with bad odors that people are mentioning (egg, BO, etc.). Fresh, clean, metallic, and just great. Simple fragrance though, you can get something similar for a better price but I just love this one.

Beautiful and classic. This will be one of the most versatile scents you can get. Citrus, aquatic, and CLEAN. Everyone loves it, the EDP has longevity and will work in most scenarios except the very cold. You cannot go wrong with Acqua di Gio, ever! 9/10

Based on a mediocre 4.06 rating and a lot of poor reviews here, I wasn't expecting to like this but I really do. It has a lovely fresh open with a more Aromatic dry down and as far as ADG's go, this is right up there. I don't understand all the hate.

Bought this one in Paris last July. Been wearing it and emptied the first bottle. Luckily I bought my second in duty free. Thats how much I love it. Refreshing mandatin and seanotes at first. I smell petchiuli all day for a good 6 to 8 hours.

This has to be one of the most underrated in the line. The citrus and the slight hint of herbal complement each other so well. Lasts a decent amount of time and above-average projection for a very fair, if not, good price imo. I do recommend

I look at this as a unisex fragrance as a woman who loves these cleaner scents. Perfect price point too as it's very long lasting and just a little goes a long way. Love this so much, and it's so perfect for daytime, dates and vacations.

Salty, aquatic, fresh. The blend is overall makes you smell like an ocean, but in a good way. Under hot sun, this projects well and lasts long on my skin for about 5-6 hours. Would try the other flankers too in the future

Surprised it's not listed, but it smells a lot like D&G Light Blue. The sage is very strong in the dry down. This is more herbal with the ADG dna. Light Blue is very sharp with the pepper.

First of all the longevity is great as summer fragrance, minimum 8+ as scent love it I would give it 9.5 out of 10 I bought backup bottle, this is 2022 release.

Great flanker , I think this is a lighter version of profondo. I really like it is a scent for a personal enjoyment, don’t expect it to be a powerful scent.

I was really impressed by this one. Ive only tried the edt before but I like this one better. Im seriously considering giving the edp a purchase.

I love it. Great fragrance. Although not described in the notes, i pick up alot of olive. Smells like summer in italy. Super versatile as well.

Nice refreshing perfume it’s not that like is there a specific character but it’s an everyday perfume that smells great

The most slept on flanker of Adg, it is like Edt but without the floral notes and the delightful mineral notes instead

Very fresh, citrus aquatic and metallic, I find it slightly more enjoyable compared to the other ADG flankers
