Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Parfum (2024)

This fragrance was this summers choice for me, fresh aquatic salty and a tad bit herbaceous! I wore this one to all the family functions this summer and received positive feedback. This one is a no brainer 8 sprays as it does not have the strongest performance but definitely has a moderate 6 hours of performance with the last few hours turning into a skin scent, has such a beautiful and addictive opening words cannot describe. I definitely experimented with the new Acqua Di Gio bottles this year and have found a new favorite line of fragrances. The only strange thing I’ve noticed about this website is all the unfair voting, a lot of users with free time trying to tarnish a lot of new releases. If you pay attention to the Original profondo it has amazing stats and votes, but this new release is literally 92 percent the same and same performance as the original profondo and gets really negative and unfair feedback. I wish people knew how to use this voting database correctly and would stop ruining it for everyone else. Just because a few people probably disliked the new bottles they knock it to the fullest. It’s literally the same profondo just slightly fresher. Maybe we should leave the voting to people who actually know fragrances. If you’re one of the ones who wants to try the new Profondo, go ahead go to your local Macys or Sephora and sample I’m positive you’ll like this gem if you’re into blue aquatic fragrances. Comparing Acqua di Giò Profondo EDT, EDP, and Parfum (inspired by @smellybutgood 's comment) The EDT is the freshest of the three, with a stronger emphasis on citrus notes. It smells fantastic, but next to the EDP and Parfum, it feels a bit lighter and less complex. In my opinion, this is the best choice if you’re specifically looking for a summer fragrance. The EDP is my favorite of the trio. It maintains a fresh character while adding a subtle sweetness in the background and it has more depth and dimension than the EDT. It feels more well-rounded and interesting overall. Although it could work year-round, I personally prefer wearing it in spring and summer. The Parfum is similar to the EDP but comes across as sweeter and a bit deeper/darker. The freshness is still present, though slightly toned down compared to the other two. I wouldn’t classify it as a sweet fragrance, but it is the sweetest of the three. If the EDP feels like a daytime scent, the Parfum naturally fits better for evening wear. All three are excellent fragrances, so it ultimately comes down to personal preference and what you’re looking for. I chose the EDP because it strikes the perfect balance between freshness and depth, making it the most versatile option. It also offers solid longevity, though I can’t speak confidently about the performance of the other two.

I love this and have been wearing this extensively this summer. This is a modernized take on AdG, with an ambergris base to tackle on the blue fragrances of current year. But this still has the original acqua di gio DNA in spades , but is like the name suggests deeper, not as “watery” and instead more of a rich deep blue marine scent. This honestly has really good longevity. I am surprised to see the comments about poor longevity and I wonder if people are going nose blind to it because this one actually lasts 7+ hours easily and I get wafts of it throughout the day. It lasts for a week on my clothes , so much so that I don’t even spray them anymore if I plan on wearing it one more time. All in all highly recommend if you want something marine but not as simplistic as the OG AdG.

Probably my favorite to this day. I'm a sucker for marine freshies and Profondo just hits the spot. A bit more "sophisticated" and sweeter than the regular ADG (which helps a bit with it's notoriously bad performance) but still very very fresh and pretty salty. Clean, masculine, refreshing. Shame it doesn't last. Projects fine for 1-2 hours, almost faded after 4 hrs and completely gone after 5-6 hrs. 6-7 (no brainrot intended) sprays is needed for outdoor setting AT LEAST. It's basically a perfect freshie if you need to smell nice and clean for a couple of hours but I find it funny how some label it as an office fragrance when it could not last a day in the office even with heavy overspraying lol 9.5/10 for the smell, 5/10 for performance

Frist of all I'm loving it. I'm an over sprayer so I did my thing this morning before work and I think I underestimated this fragrance. You know that feeling you get when you feel like you got a little carried away with the sprays? Well that's me this morning. I'm a walking Aquatic Citrus bomb. This scent is so fresh, loud, sharp and just projects like crazy. I'm only 3hrs in at work and it's still pushing off my skin and clothes hard. It reminds me of taking a juicy orange and lemon peel/rind and squeezing them together on a part of your skin. It's fresh, bright and uplifting. I'll do an update later to see if it lasts my entire 8hr work shift today.

Had this for a little while now, and I don't see the problems that I saw people talking about with the performance. On my skin this is honestly eternal. Not loud after hour 2 but it lasts all day off my skin. The smell of it is very professional, and even as a younger guy, this is such a nice change of pace from the typical sweet scents that we all have seen a lot of. I have smelled the older version of this too, and I have to say that the reformulation is very similar, but ever so slightly better to my nose. Overall an amazing office scent. It won't blow you away, but HR won't send you home due to wearing this either. 9/10

It's funny reading all the reviews from angry snobs. These same people complaining about redundancy are also the ones who have never bought a fragrance at retail (which is who the company caters to), just the grey market. It's like the person who disappears when the bill comes during a night out, or who consistently pays the least but is also the one who complains the most about the food and venue. If they were to just review the fragrance from a blank bottle, they would write something completely different instead of complaining. I wish people would just review the fragrance for the scent and performance.

(I accidentally posted this on the Acqua di Gio Profundo Parfum version) It smells very good! Very marine and musky. It doesn't last long and like the guy below me said, it's very calm, very calm. Has a little bit of 90s DNA that Acqua di Giò EDT probably has. (I've never smelled it). It almost smells like Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger...but much better quality...Just like other reviewers, I don't understand why Fragrantica hates this...Fragrantica hates everything, if it's not niche or something like Jazz Club, people are probably going to hate it.

Genuinely the best fragrance i have ever smelt. I got this as my first blue fragrance, and every other one has been disappointing in comparison. The reviews also reflect this; don't let the lesser media attention fool you, it's only because ADG has been around for a long time, and reviewing it doesn't exactly pull in views. It's the best dumb reach aswell, especially for someone like me, who easily gets nausiating effects from perfumes. It's price is also pretty much justified, as you can easily find it discounted.

Fragrance Journal Entry #198 My favorite aquatic fragrance by far! The citrus notes blend seemlessly with the aquatic notes and the mineral notes add a soft metallic feel. This takes the original ADG and just improves it in everyway. A simple fresh and clean aquatic done to perfection! It does seem to fade rather quickly but using this in high heat situations is refreshing as it has a bit of a cooling effect. Easily a top 10 summer scent. Rating: 9.6/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

This cologne is actually awesome. You know when you're about to hit the beach and you're thinking, "Maybe today's the day I pull some huzz"? I'm telling you, spray this about an hour before you go. Not only will you get huzz, you might even crack one.The only downside is that after about 2–3 hours, it's pretty much gone, so you might wanna spray it again mid crack so your girl doesn't suddenly realize you smell like shit. Absolutely recommend. 10/10.

To all the people saying the performance is mid, I get 7-9 hours and first two hours strong performance and hour 2-5 is a decent scent bubble then dies down for the rest of its lifetime. The scent is a like smelling a more refined and deep take on the original edt. The citrus and amber blends really well with the mineralic AdG vibe. This is my favorite of the AdG line. The smell is fantastic for me in high heat. Can dress it up or down. However, the longevity is poor. It’s a skin scent in 2 hours for me. I don’t hate the idea of that for a warm weather fragrance, but considering the price, it should perform better. Designers just aren’t very interested in producing long-lasting fragrances at this point.

The scent profile is amazing. Starts od with synthetic chemically smell that gives off nostalgic vibes. Then its clean, citrusy, marine and salty which turns into a masculine concoction of a perfume. But overall performance is very weak. Stays for only an hour or so on skin. Probably 2 hours on clothes. Have to reapply the whole day which makes it not so value for money. Overall 6.5/10 hut it smells nice while it lasts

Most detectable notes for me: Orange, Mineralic/Sea Notes, Ambergris, Rosemary, Cedar and a slight hint of Lavender. Review: One of the few true ‘blue’ fragrances that has really managed to capture the sense of the ocean. It’s a salty, citrus masterpiece from Alberto Morillas, that is an absolute staple in my collection. Seasons: Spring/Summer Use: Everyday and office wear. Perfectly suited to warm days by the coast.

I used only this perfume last summer, and about a third of the bottle is left. A wonderful scent for summer. Whenever I wear this perfume, my girlfriend tells me it's amazing. A safe and comfortable fragrance for summer. It would be great if the longevity and sillage of this scent were a little better. a fragrance that will always be in my collection.

My new favorite from the Acqua di Gio line. Highly recommended as your every day scent or for informal events and meet ups in summer and spring. Also good for work if you work in a public setting or in strict contact with customers because is mass appealing and doesn't bother anyone as it is not projecting too much. Vote 9/10

Honestly, I love this. It’s a clean marine scent, very aquatic and has aromatic nuances. I haven’t smelled the original profondo but it’s hard to imagine that it could be better than this. When you spray on your arm and smell it up close its very aromatic. But once youre less than a foot away, it’s very aquatic. 9/10

I bought this couple months back and it’s been pretty much my summer scent this year. Really nice opening, it’s basically Chrome Extreme but with higher quality oils, you can tell immediately from the first sniff. Performance is above average 6-7 on my skin. Can’t go wrong with any of the ADG line... 8/10

I started with this. After over 30 fragrances I've had, I can say that this is the most beautiful smell fragrance I've ever tried! The longevity and projection aren't the best, but it lasts a good 4-5 hours. Smell 100/10 Longevity 6/10 Price value 9/10

One of the rare cases where the reformulation is better. I absolutely love the new profondo edp, I feel it took the already great previous one, and kicked it up a notch. It feels fresher, more refined I would say even better performance. Nice

Rosemary-citrusy-marine and mineral heaven. Really refreshing fragrance with sexy undertone. Azzaro Chrome Extreme is sweeter and more fruity copy of this. NEW Edit: It's not worth it for that high price. Last max 2 hours.

Smells very refreshing, very clean, sophisticated and classy take on the ADG dna. Probably the best one after the Profumo/Parfum flankers. This is great for summers, unfortunately, the only downer is the weak performance.

Masterpiece. The absolute best Marine / Blue/ Aquatic scent you could possibly own. Great for the gym, for daytime freshness. Many say its summer only but I'll wear it all year round before 6pm The ultimate Freshie

Beautiful scent! Glad it still remains very similar to the original AdG Profondo, but improved. I'd just love this fragrance lasted longer so that I can smell it (myself) all day long.

It’s almost two weeks I got this perfume. It’s more of a skin scent perfume. Projection is very low. For 1 to 1:30 at 1 feet distance. And it’s very mild. But I love it.

The mandarin in this steals the show. I absolutely fell in love with it. Unfortunately, you can't get a good deal on this anywhere, so I have yet to buy a full bottle.

Aquatic, mineralic, very easy to use daily, not a strong projection so it is easy to use as a gym scent or for people who work outdoors. Clean, fresh, and easy scent.

Wanted to buy Polo Black, the sales guy pushed me to this. Pricier, but never regretted this purchase. Absolutely great as a summer scent. Would again buy it.

Excellent perfume. Textbook blue scent, exactly what I was looking for. Blind buy safe. Its easy to wear and versatile. Really cannot go wrong here.

Citrusy, metallic, fresh and deep. Blue, green, grey: sea, plants, stones. Fruity. Makes you feel the fresh wilderness. Masculine. Great.

Best version of this fragrance by far!

Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Parfum opens with tart citrus supported by green aromatics and a prominent marine accord. Compared to the EDT, the fragrance feels slightly denser and sharper, with a crisp, well-defined profile rather than a soft or creamy one. Herbs and subtle florals sit over a woody base, while the marine notes continue to provide freshness without dominating the composition. The scent gains a touch of sweetness but remains balanced and avoids becoming overly sugary. Through the middle of the wear, the biggest change is in texture. The composition blends together and becomes smoother as the individual notes integrate. A soft musk emerges from the base, adding some extra projection and helping support the woody aromatic character. By the fourth hour, however, the fragrance had almost completely faded. Overall, this is a high-quality blue fragrance that stays true to the Acqua di Giò DNA while giving it a more modern woody aromatic structure. Definitely something that shouldn’t be judged by first impressions, this was a blind buy for the summer and since I was in love with my SWY, I expected the AdG line to be just as good. On first spray I got a really harsh synthetic salt water note which lasted the whole time and genuinely couldn’t point out anything else. When it finally died down a bit, you get this light floral sweetness, perfect for the summer in a way it could never get cloying. However I hated the intense salt water note, every-time I sprayed it, it felt like my nose was burning. Couldn’t get past it and stopped using it for a while. After a couple of weeks being untouched I sprayed it again and it completely transformed, I still got the salt water but it was mellowed down and accompanied by a nice citrus. And as it started to dry down I finally noticed the aromatics and slight lotion-y musk. With that being said, it’s overpriced, the atomiser is genuinely garbage and it feels like spraying a water gun if you don’t apply enough pressure, and it should be left alone after opening for maybe 2-3 weeks for it to fully mature. Scent wise 8/10 Perfect for a hot summer’s day Still, don’t blind buy & do try to get it on sale.

There is a lot of talk that this 2024 redesign is the same or very similar juice to the 2020 OG—it isn't. I've worn this line since launch, and I’d say it’s about 70% similar. 2024 edp is much brighter, airier, and leans heavily into the citrus. The metallic backbone that made the original so unique has been dialed way back to make it "safer" and more mass-appealing. Is it a good scent? Yes, absolutely. It smells great, it's very fresh, and it’s arguably easier to wear in high heat than the original. If you found the 2020 version too "inky" or metallic, this 2024 version is actually an upgrade for you. Is it a 1:1 replacement? No. If you’re a purist for that specific 2020 DNA, you’ll find this version feels "hollowed out" by comparison. It’s a solid fragrance on its own merits, but it’s a different experience. Just know what you’re getting before you buy!

This is nice, fresh, and clean. It smells like the original ADG EDT, but more powerful, and more blue and aquatic. It smells like nautica voyage, if nautica voyage was an EDP, and if it wasn't as fresh and green. And I LOVE Nautica Voyage, it's the fragrance with the biggest dent in my collection. Longevity on this is pretty solid for a freshie. Projection is good as well. Not much to say, this is just your nice and basic blue, aquatic fresh fragrance. It's enjoyable. Is this worth the money? Nah. I'd recommend getting a dupe, or just getting nautica voyage and overspraying that. This isn't unique at all. No one will do a double take if you wear this. That's not to say this is bad, it's just super basic. If I was new into my fragrance journey, this would've been super appealing to me. Overall rating: 7/10. Performance is great, scent is basic. I like it

Acqua Di Gio Profondo is the standard, inoffensive, slightly luxurious summertime freshie. It isnt trying to do too much but is also able to stand up for itself. A crisp, oceanic scent washes over you like a wave on the initial spray, behind which hides a citrus not unlike that of an orange peel. Once it dries down you get a soft ambergris note and some woods. Profondo is a simple summer fragrance made with high quality ingredients, making you feel like you're on a beach with a slightly pricy, yet admittedly refreshing, orange mojito. This lasted a decent while on me while considering its a lightweight perfume, projecting for upto an hour before settling more intimately on my skin, only dissappearing when it neared the 5th. Would I ever buy a larger decant of this though? Probably not.

I bought this with high expectations, because performance aside, this smells absolutely beautiful, perhaps even the best freshie in my collection. However; I sprayed once on the back of my hand and after 4 hours I could barely smell it on my hand anymore. Then again it was only 1 spray, so perhaps a couple more may have helped it stay slightly longer, plus my skin is slightly dry. Regardless, I don't see this fragrance lasting more than 5 - 6 hours on my skin, the projection is somewhat fine, this fragrance smells beautiful but unfortunately, this type of DNA just doesn't last. Smell - 10/10 Performance - 4/10 Overspray this like CRAZY if you want anybody to notice you, reapply every 3 hours.

Este es mi perfume casi del diario, no es nada complejo ni original pero a veces lo más básico es lo que mejor funciona. Todo en este perfume es casi genial excepto por su duración, creo que si haces algo tan básico y rico justo para un uso cotidiano al menos lo haces duradero para que dure la mayor parte del día, no? En éste caso al parecer se los olvidó el apartado de durabilidad porque realmente esto solo dura de 3 a 4 hrs y desaparece. Reaplicas y asunto arreglado pero tenía que ser necesario esto? Hazlo más longevo y punto. Aroma 10/10 Duración 3/10 Proyección 9/10 Al menos dura las 3-4 hrs de vida Cumplidos 10/10 Precio 5/10 No es precisamente caro pero tiene un pésimo rendimiento.

I have the 50ml bottle, from NOTINO (DE), and I am very happy with the "structure" of this spring/summer fragrance, BUT... really, longevity is about half an hour and a quite weak projection. It dries nicely, yes, but... even after 4-5 sprays on the chest, which is unacceptable for an eau de parfum, I feel it absolutely fades! Regarding the fragrance, only, lovely and ideal, now, for Central Europe/temp. > 20 oC. The performance of Profondo Eau de Parfum is insufficient compared to the AdG Profumo, which I had from the introduction to the market, and at least that fragrance version of Profumo. Disappointed with the performance, really.
