Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Toilette

Im a huge fan of the Profondo line and own every iteration minus the Parfum which I did decant.... I’ve heard the "redundant" claims, but I respectfully disagree as there's a missing nuance. If you love this DNA, the 2025 EDT is a vital addition. While the 2024 EDP reformulation moved toward a smoother, less minerally profile, this EDT is its high-definition, ice-cold cousin. By swapping the mandarin for a sharp, zesty grapefruit, Armani created something that feels significantly more modern and electric. The real beauty here is how it handles the heat compared to its siblings. The signature marine notes are present but stripped of all "weight," making it incredibly airy and breathable. When it’s 95 degrees and humid—conditions where the EDPs can feel a bit dense, this EDT thrives. It stays crisp and transparent on the skin for a solid 6 to 7 hours. The catch? This 2025 edt is rumored to have already been discontinued, making it a "buy it now or regret it later" bottle. It doesn't replace the EDPs; it complements them by being the most refreshing version of the DNA. If you're a fan of the line, don’t sleep on this before it becomes a rare collector’s unicorn.

The reviews of this fragrance are proof that no one should take Fragrantica scores or comments seriously, take them with a full truckload of salt. Most of the comments come from people who haven’t smelled it or worn it. I’ve tried to like all versions of Acqua di Gio, buying, selling, and testing them. But I don’t like Acqua di Gio fragrances. They either smell like sulfur or rotten eggs, as some people call it in the drydown, or like something for a 40+ mature gentleman. And that makes sense, since the DNA is nearly 30 years old. When I saw this version, I had to try it. It opens beautifully, citrusy, sharp, and fresh. Not like the harsh, metallic sharpness of Profondo EDP. The drydown feels like a lighter version of Profondo EDP, but without that overly masculine, dated vibe everyone’s smelled since the ’90s. This one is the perfect blend. Everything is balanced. A fresh, modern, masculine Acqua di Gio scent that actually smells modern and good. Maybe the only Acqua di Gio I’ll ever buy again and wear regularly. It’s a sexy fragrance that dries down to something soft and clean, almost like fresh body lotion.

I'm not much of a blue-fragrance person because I feel like after a week of wearing one, it gets a little boring. Then I crave something unique and more statement-making. But this one smells damn nice, and it's a frag I would wear to a job interview. You'll laugh, but where I live in Southeast Asia, this one is a little difficult to find on discounters. Not impossible, but not as common on discounters as say the OG EDT. Anyway, whereas the EDP starts off nice, it goes directly into that dry woody smell (which isn't bad) but it's too intimate and a little boring. In comes the EDT which doesn't go as woody, but maintains a little more freshness. They both do lead to the same place eventually, but I prefer the EDT because of the extra loudness at the beginning. It really does smell like a fresh ocean breeze. You can spray it on then immediately walk into a job interview or a meeting, and everyone will like it. No one will be offended. So even though it's a blue frag, still a love for me, and my favorite from that line. The parfum is interesting though.

OK I finally got it after it re-stocked. All of a sudden Jomashop has a 1.7oz which was not there before. Armani is doing something fishy behind the scenes by pulling it off their website but somehow still producing bottles and even now 1.7oz bottles... Very shady Anyway, this is what Profondo SHOULD'VE BEEN ALL ALONG. The reviewer below me has it right. This is way less dense than EDP, its airy and opulent. I really dont like the EDP or Parfum. This one has a slight twist that makes me like the EDT a lot. The EDP and Parfum have that 90s masculine style dna, this is updated 21st century masculine ADG. I really like it. Its fresh, ozonic, airy mineral slightly salty/icy with a TOUCH of sweetness. Bravo Alberto Morillas. You did an excellent job and Armani threw your work in the trash. Maybe the edt cost more to produce than the edp and they knew the EDT would've won people over and the edp and parfum would've been left in the dust. WHO KNOWS what these fools at Armani are thinking! I mean they discontinued their best Profondo! What a shame.

I picked up Profundo EDT from John Lewis for only £47 for 100ml with some special in store discount. For this price the perfume is incredible, has great longevity for an EDT and can smell the final saltiness on skin after 12 hours. The smell is a solid blue and purple fragrance that is suitable all year round but best in spring and summer. The slight spiciness allows you to wear in colder months too. A very safe, clean, fresh, inoffensive fragrance that smells outstanding and is versatile for office, dates and casual wear. Projection could be better, but for an EDT it is still good. Would suit a man who is well put together, in nice clothing with his hair combed and beard groomed. Reminds me of Chanel BDC and Dolce Gabanna Light Blue Intense. I mention the price because at full price I don't think it's worth it, but on sale it is worth it.
