Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Toilette

Im a huge fan of the Profondo line and own every iteration minus the Parfum which I did decant.... I’ve heard the "redundant" claims, but I respectfully disagree as there's a missing nuance. If you love this DNA, the 2025 EDT is a vital addition. While the 2024 EDP reformulation moved toward a smoother, less minerally profile, this EDT is its high-definition, ice-cold cousin. By swapping the mandarin for a sharp, zesty grapefruit, Armani created something that feels significantly more modern and electric. The real beauty here is how it handles the heat compared to its siblings. The signature marine notes are present but stripped of all "weight," making it incredibly airy and breathable. When it’s 95 degrees and humid—conditions where the EDPs can feel a bit dense, this EDT thrives. It stays crisp and transparent on the skin for a solid 6 to 7 hours. The catch? This 2025 edt is rumored to have already been discontinued, making it a "buy it now or regret it later" bottle. It doesn't replace the EDPs; it complements them by being the most refreshing version of the DNA. If you're a fan of the line, don’t sleep on this before it becomes a rare collector’s unicorn.

The reviews of this fragrance are proof that no one should take Fragrantica scores or comments seriously, take them with a full truckload of salt. Most of the comments come from people who haven’t smelled it or worn it. I’ve tried to like all versions of Acqua di Gio, buying, selling, and testing them. But I don’t like Acqua di Gio fragrances. They either smell like sulfur or rotten eggs, as some people call it in the drydown, or like something for a 40+ mature gentleman. And that makes sense, since the DNA is nearly 30 years old. When I saw this version, I had to try it. It opens beautifully, citrusy, sharp, and fresh. Not like the harsh, metallic sharpness of Profondo EDP. The drydown feels like a lighter version of Profondo EDP, but without that overly masculine, dated vibe everyone’s smelled since the ’90s. This one is the perfect blend. Everything is balanced. A fresh, modern, masculine Acqua di Gio scent that actually smells modern and good. Maybe the only Acqua di Gio I’ll ever buy again and wear regularly. It’s a sexy fragrance that dries down to something soft and clean, almost like fresh body lotion.

I'm not much of a blue-fragrance person because I feel like after a week of wearing one, it gets a little boring. Then I crave something unique and more statement-making. But this one smells damn nice, and it's a frag I would wear to a job interview. You'll laugh, but where I live in Southeast Asia, this one is a little difficult to find on discounters. Not impossible, but not as common on discounters as say the OG EDT. Anyway, whereas the EDP starts off nice, it goes directly into that dry woody smell (which isn't bad) but it's too intimate and a little boring. In comes the EDT which doesn't go as woody, but maintains a little more freshness. They both do lead to the same place eventually, but I prefer the EDT because of the extra loudness at the beginning. It really does smell like a fresh ocean breeze. You can spray it on then immediately walk into a job interview or a meeting, and everyone will like it. No one will be offended. So even though it's a blue frag, still a love for me, and my favorite from that line. The parfum is interesting though.

OK I finally got it after it re-stocked. All of a sudden Jomashop has a 1.7oz which was not there before. Armani is doing something fishy behind the scenes by pulling it off their website but somehow still producing bottles and even now 1.7oz bottles... Very shady Anyway, this is what Profondo SHOULD'VE BEEN ALL ALONG. The reviewer below me has it right. This is way less dense than EDP, its airy and opulent. I really dont like the EDP or Parfum. This one has a slight twist that makes me like the EDT a lot. The EDP and Parfum have that 90s masculine style dna, this is updated 21st century masculine ADG. I really like it. Its fresh, ozonic, airy mineral slightly salty/icy with a TOUCH of sweetness. Bravo Alberto Morillas. You did an excellent job and Armani threw your work in the trash. Maybe the edt cost more to produce than the edp and they knew the EDT would've won people over and the edp and parfum would've been left in the dust. WHO KNOWS what these fools at Armani are thinking! I mean they discontinued their best Profondo! What a shame.

I picked up Profundo EDT from John Lewis for only £47 for 100ml with some special in store discount. For this price the perfume is incredible, has great longevity for an EDT and can smell the final saltiness on skin after 12 hours. The smell is a solid blue and purple fragrance that is suitable all year round but best in spring and summer. The slight spiciness allows you to wear in colder months too. A very safe, clean, fresh, inoffensive fragrance that smells outstanding and is versatile for office, dates and casual wear. Projection could be better, but for an EDT it is still good. Would suit a man who is well put together, in nice clothing with his hair combed and beard groomed. Reminds me of Chanel BDC and Dolce Gabanna Light Blue Intense. I mention the price because at full price I don't think it's worth it, but on sale it is worth it.

Smells fantastic, brighter and fresher than EDP right away. The sweet subtle mandarin on the EDP is replaced with a more tart lemon and grapefruit, which I prefer for a summer day. The mid and dry down are lighter than Profondo EDP, but less "dense" in notes, not sure how to describe it. I notice the mineral/calone notes more in the mid on this one than in the EDP which feels more blended with herbal/fougere notes. in the skin scent zone EDP has a much stronger (spicier?) woodiness and this EDT is just lighter. After wearing it for a few days I prefer this for a hot humid summer day. Toss this on in the morning/afternoon and top up on the EDP in the evening since they share a lot of notes. If I had a chance to rebuy I'd get this over EDP having to choose just one. Its probably redundant to own both unless you love ADG like me.

This smells fantastic, maybe the best smelling opening of the whole adg range, lasts pretty well and perfect for spring and summer, I have seven different adg's and really like all of them, I would say the parfum and profumo are the most versatile, the og smells so good, I was late to get into this range but completely get it after reading about it for years, such a intoxicating and addictive range of smells. You can get 100ml of this in the UK for £64, that makes it amazing value and an absolute banger. Not sure if it is going out of production as some people are saying but it's readily available in the UK. I will be buying a back up if it starts to get less available.

Banger! In the summer ☀️ Friends, do yourselves a favor and try this one out in 20+ celcius and sunshine - because that’s where this fragrance shines! I bought this in the winter (don’t ask why, I had to have it). And i tested it out at home, in the gym, and during the slightly spring days. It was mehh, edp better. Now it’s sunny and warm, and shazaaaam this beats edp. It’s more uplifting, it’s was clearly designed for this. To me this smells like a lemonade that I want to drink in the summer. I couldn't find this in stores where I live so i decided to blind buy. I must say I love how fresh this ADG is, smells so modern and fresh. Too bad they discontinued this one. I bought the 100 ml version because of that. I live in a mediterranean country so I think that this would be my main fragrance for the summer. The weather here currently is very cold so I haven't been able to test the fragrance longevity and sillage. If you can find 100ml version for 70 euros or less I would say go for it.

Exact same genre as the original ADG but to me, this does everything better scent wise, projection wise and longevity wise. What a beautiful bright opening. Aquatic, so perfectly citrusy with this slightly spicy, kinda airy feel. The lavender with the minerallic/metallic touch here gives it this premium aftershave feel on some sniffs. This smells like if original ADG and Versace pour homme had a baby with a slight modern blue fragrance twist. I gotta say the projection and longevity for such a fresh profile especially as an EDT pleasantly surprised me

It is time to establish the truth, if you like the acqua di gio DNA and you enjoy marine notes this is the best ADG in the line, it's super fresh, it's what you expect when you wear acqua di gio, hypermasculine, alpha male type of fragrance. IDC if this has 10 flankers, if it is a cash grab, if it is generic and if it isn't the holy overglazed "ADG Profumo", this smells like you're that dude somewhere in italy on the amalfi coast and not the dude that goes on vacation you are the mf who owns the whole hotel complex. Women love this btw

Alberto Morillas is an absolute GOAT, people are sleeping on this one because its a flanker. I swear ppl comment without trying this properly, this performs really great on my skin 6-7+ hours with 4 hours of projection, and my skin rarely helps fragrances perform, especially for an airy summer scent 6-7+ hours is not bad at all. And it smells more masculine than the OG and the other flanker. Slightly green, spicy, masculine for sure. I give it a 8.5 out of 10. I want to see how it dances in summer before it goes to a 9. Lovely

I don't know what's wrong with you people. You all are giving bad "reviews" but I feel like none of you ACTUALLY have tried the fragrance. Does Armani release a lot of flankers of AdG? Yes. Are they too expensive? Probably. Does AdG Profondo edt smell good? Hell yes! It's masterfully crafted by mr Morillas, it's light, but not too light, it's aquatic, ozonic, citrusy, it's the essence of summer! Do I recommend buying it? For the price as I'm writing it- probably no. Do I recommend TRYING it? Definitely.

Agree with the last 2 reviews. This is my far my favourite Profondo and the most wearable ADG period for me. I almost loved the EDP but wasn't a fan of the mastic and it also gave me the vibe of a sticky floor public beach toilet lol. This is cleaner, fresher, maintaining all the good parts, with some added citrus zing. I can't wear to rock this in summer. Will be very uplifting. Will be the first full bottle ADG I purchase. Don't be put off people. Also lasts longer than the EDP.

This is a fresh take on a fragrance that is already fresh in itself. It’s definitely an excellent and highly versatile perfume that will appeal to just about everyone. It’s a safe blind buy for lovers of AdG. Has a slightly more mineral note... like seawater on flint than the OG and added juicy watermelon, but the citrus/wood is still there, don’t get much lavender. Performance is decent almost EDP rather than EDT quality, it’s not at all bad. This is the perfect Ibiza/Greece summer holiday scent to share with pals, very fresh. Age 15+. Leans more ‘male’. More daytime but could be worn at a club too.

I see a lot of fake reviews here. Shame. The fragrance opens up citrusy. You can definitely smell the lemon and grapefruit. After about 40 minutes, it calms down and you start to smell more of the patchouly and mineral notes. Last about 5-6 before it completely disappears. Not bad for an Eau Di Toilette, specially a freshy. I personally like it over the EDP, because it’s more fresh. Can’t go wrong with either, though.

People seem to be incapable of separating that they’re annoyed Armani keeps releasing new Profondo flankers with an honest review of the fragrance. Profondo EDT actually smells great. It is incredibly fresh with a gorgeous citrus open. I found it lasted all day. In my opinion, smells better than the EDP. Don’t hesitate to get his if you’re a fan of the line like I am.

Guys. This is THE flanker. I kid you not, it lasts the whole day maintaining that uplifting fresh citrus mineralic goodness.... People are being tricked by concentrations but trust me this one PERFORMS. Projects wayyyy more than ADG parfum which is absurd. I was trying SO hard to shit on the performance but it really outdid itself. Please give this one a chance!!!

Almost perfect casual high-heat summer fragrance. Sparkling, fresh, uplifting, and just pure fun. It smells high quality and it actually lasts. It projects from your skin quite well as well. Compared to Profondo EdP, I like the EdT a lot more since the mandarin in the EdP can smell a bit "weird" in high heat to my nose. This one is the best AdG in my opinion.

Great frag. Probably the best in the Profondo line. More fresh and citrusy than the else. Smells like a enhanced version of the OG Edt and discontinued Profondo. Sexy fresh citrusy mineralic woodsy marine with some spices and lavender linkering. Absolute banger of a fragrance. Works for daily use or as a perfect summer scent by the harbor with Yachts etc.

This Eau de Toilette is like 95 % Profondo EDP. Its very hard to distinguish them. Differences: - more FRESH , more lemon-grapefruit-freshness, more calone/ocean feel ☼ - in drydown more MINERALIC-WOODY - simply THE BEST VERSION of all Acqua di Gios - really beautiful summer fragrance Negatives: - way overpriced - WEAK longevity and INTIMATE sillage :(

Ar first stiff this is not much different from the edp, but just keep wearing it. That opening is so addictive and fresh to me.Ive had this for about 2 weeks and threw almost a quarter of the bottle. I may be a bit early but this fragrance is becoming a my absolute favorite for the summer. Well done job by Armani. 9/10

DISCONTINUED. Had this in my cart for 2 days at Jomashop and now it's out of stock and its NOT ON THE OFFICIAL ARMANI WEBSITE. Go F*** yourself Armani. Get your sh** together! Either create a GREAT EDT COLOGNE or sit the down somewhere else. What a trash company.

I have tried every adg ever besides absolu instinct. I sold my og profondo and 2024 profondo because i got bored with them. This one has a more enjoyably fresh opening. Gf stopped and asked what I was wearing. It's my favorite profondo of the 5 they've made

Beautiful beautiful fragrance, in fact this smells what all the others Acqua di Giò perfumes should have smelled like. Finally they got the formula right. I'm a big patchouli lover, and this got it in heaps. Two big thumbs up!

Bright, clean, citrus-dominant version of Acqua di Gio with better than expected longevity. This is such an ideal fragrance for high heat and works great for the summer in general. Great update on the original.

Hybrid between discontinued Profondo Edp and AdG Edt with a strong dose of Calone. Pretty lasting vs discon or even 2024 profondo. Even at 7-8 hours still light skin scent

Absolutely gorgeous. Easy going fresh citrus/aquatic/aromatic profile. I adore it even though I am not a.fan of GM in general. This is brilliant and performs nicely!

I am an Acqua Di Gio lover. I love this flanker also.

Acqua di Gio Profondo Eau de Toilette (EDT) is a citrus, aromatic, and aquatic fragrance. It has a fresh, citrusy opening, reminiscent of mandarin and grapefruit. This phase is very pleasant and sparkling, and then it begins to give way to aquatic, aromatic, and slightly woody notes, with the signature Profondo scent. Its aroma is recognizable, but this version is a bit lighter, making it ideal for spring and summer, beach outings, casual occasions, school, work, etc. As for its longevity, it lasted about 7 hours on me, but with a lighter sillage than the Eau de Parfum (EDP) version. Price-wise, it's not cheap, and it's not far off the price of the EDP, which is why I prefer the EDP. In terms of usage, the EDP is more wearable almost year-round because it has a bit more body, while the EDT, being lighter, is more suited to summer or spring. What can't be denied is that it smells wonderful, and there's something for everyone; try it and decide if you like it.

I've tested Profondo EdT today and it smells pretty good. It is similar to Profondo EdP, but even fresher. I like a woodiness base of this new EdT a little bit more than EdP. It lasts even longer than ADG Parfum (regular Parfum in black bottle, not Profondo Parfum) which I've tested on the another hand. BUT the main issue of these release for me is current price... on Notino the Profondo EdT 100 ml has almost the same price as Profondo EdP 200 ml, and these little diferences can not justify the increased price. Maybe in the future I will move from Profondo EdP to Profondo EdT. Owning both Profondo EdP and EdT seems redundant for me at this moment (and price). It is nice release, great for summer, but with higher price and not unique scent (but lack of uniqueness with these summer fresh fragrances is not very important to me).

Nice scent with the dark aquatic minerality and the AdG DNA that we all know and love. I really like it...for as long as it lasts on my skin, which isn't very long. Horrible performance and becomes an intimate skin scent quickly. You have to find a fine balance between seriously over spraying and blasting out of the room or respraying several times during the day. I don't see my 50ml bottle lasting very long but at least it's small and can be carried along easily. Luckily I got it at a very good price. I don't rank this as high on the AdG scale as Profumo and Essenza but it's a close 4th or 5th. I will probably replace with the EDP once this bottle is gone. I just hope the EDP last much longer otherwise, I'll pass altogether.

This may be the best acqua di gio and I said that after hating the entire line until Parfum came out, before this parfum was my favourite and now this one takes it for the best. This has that salty aquatic smell a bit similar to DS durga rockaway beach but this is much more wearable than Rockaway beach and of course has that profondo DNA still in there just turned more aquatic and they finally listened to my advice in my fragrance reviews I said to use cypress instead of rosemary glad they took that on board it smells a bit nicer I think. The rosemary worked better for the profumo being more smokey, aromatic and woody and darker. But the cypress works better in this one with this DNA for sure

Transparent, sheer, uplifting synthetic musky aquatic. To me a very slight improvement over the other Profondo, but I think if you buy any of the flankers currently on the market you will get a similar pleasant experience and I’m not invested enough to comb through the differences between them. Very refreshing and likable, overall. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this one, besides maybe that it is a little plain and kind of what you would expect. It isn’t surprising me — just rehashing something they know works in a pretty new bottle. 7.8/10

Simillar to versace pour homme and other aqua di gios

In the opening you get a short blast of super freshness, even fresher than og profondo. After about 30 min they are almost the same tough. It’s a little drier than profondo, you have a noticeable grapefruit note instead of mandarin/citrus. Its like 80% just regular profondo and 20% light blue intense because of that grapefruit. Og profondo is better over all, rounder and smoother. Profondo is a very good scent, but like all these blue aquatics a bit generic and very very mainstream. This EDT made it even less special and more generic. Go with the OG, the difference is marginal and not for the better.

If It holds enough of an impression in a couple hours I will update this. But for now. I've tried it for a week and UPON APPLYING it smells too chemical for my liking. I usually am a fan of citrus 🍊 🍋🟩 and while the scent is exuberant it's almost like a repellent. I will give it to this scent though, it lingers more than my other fragrances I like.

So it seems Profondo has made its way to the gallows of Acqua di Gio, to die a sad death and be reborn into something... worse? I don’t know, I didn’t spend enough time with the original to know if there’s any real difference, but this is pretty poor. The original character of Acqua di Gio is lingering in there somewhere, buried under a thick blanket of synthetic musks and Amber molecules. Sharp citrus, scratchy ‘Cologne’ smells reminiscent of school changing rooms, and a whiff of aquatics is basically all there is. It’s not exactly unpleasant, but it smells like any teenage fragrance you could pick up for £30, not something around £100 from a ‘luxury’ designer house.

Pretty average fragrance. It's a faithful interpretation of Profondo; I can feel the DNA. It's way less "incensey" and brighter. It's a casual scent that can be worn in low-demanding situations, but not signature-worthy. Main problem: this EDT version feels very synthetic and quite boring. Poor performance (~5h) and projection (~1h) on my skin. From the line, the original EDT is way better, even these days. Solid 6/10.

Oof... and very bad performer. Was gone from my skin within a couple of hours, not even a skin scent. Smells nice enough for as long as you can smell it, pretty typical Profondo smell. You just don't get it for long.

This is the same scrap as the original Profondo. I think all memebers are vulgar, not creative and sophisticated at all. Painful that there is no any killer product after Profumo.

If you've ever tried Dolce light blue intense and thought it smelled like rotten eggs this has a hint of that same thing in it. Not nice.
