Acqua di Giò Profondo Lights

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio is a line I've really gotten into in the past few months. I got a sample of Profondo Lights when I got my 125ml bottle of Profondo and my 30ml of Acqua di Gio. Profondo was an instant love for me, Acqua di Gio was surprisingly an instant love too. Profondo Lights, that too was one, but in a much different way. Acqua di Gio Profondo Lights opens just as Profondo does. It opens with the sea note that may or may not be aquozone like in Profondo with a noticably toned down citric note from the green mandarin (maybe some bergamot too) and some slight cardamom. That said in 30 minutes or so, the aquatic open goes into the very green mid notes. I smell a mix of rosemary, mastic and balsam fir with some lavender in the background. The mastic is in Profondo slightly, but mixing with the balsam fir, magnifies it in Profondo Lights. The base is what I don't like about Profondo Lights. Now while I do like it isn't mineral based and that Armani went in a different direction with Profondo Lights, it is just a normal woody base with some vetiver to it. The only note I think that really isn't there is the patchouli. Performance for Acqua di Gio Profondo Lights is similar to Profondo. An EDP formulation that gets you seven hours with moderate silage. I notice slightly less longevity with Profondo Lights, but it isn't a bad drop off (and I could attribute that to being use to woody/vetiver bases.) Usewise is similar to Profondo but I think Profondo Lights is more set for colder weather than Profondo. Now I did say Profondo was nearly all season skeleton key but this is better in winter than Profondo due to the more green notes and types of green notes used which IMHO gives it a bit of a late 1980's, early 1990's vibe. Profondo Lights is a nice alternative to Profondo similar to Tommy Bahamas Maritime Deep Blue and John Varvatos NJxJV, though those are less complex and more work friendly. Le Male In The Navy is similar too, but that is more seas and less green with a 360cc engine under the hood. Profondo and Profondo Lights, are no slouch, but they are the Chevelle Malibu Classics compared to In the Navy's Chevelle SS. Profondo is said to be green, I don't get that. Profondo Lights by comparison is as they amped up the green. Profondo Lights I rate an 8. Now I do happen to like the original Acqua di Gio more but I rated these two the same. I find that Profondo Lights' performance is better and it stands out more while Acqua di Gio is a great smelling DNA, but not really unique. I mean L'eau de Issey is pretty much what Acqua di Gio was based off of, if you remove the yuzu. Even if there is a pack that has a number of close fragrances, Profondo Lights stands out. As stated, I think it works as a more green aquatic fragrance.

I think this may be my favorite variation of ADG. It smells light, aquatic, and aromatic, while also offering some depth and substance, and also giving better (but not stellar) performance compared to your average light summer aquatic. I like the original ADG, but something about it remains very off putting to me. Profondo lights offers that same vibe, but a more modern take on it, without that screeching synthetic quality of the original that screams "1996". I like profondo, but this variation is a more sophisticated take on it which brings me back to what I like about the OG line without most of the negatives. Its not sweet at all, but also not in any way unpleasant. Theres a bit of depth as I mentioned, but not the darker quality of profumo (which I also really enjoy). While profumo kind of veers towards Bleu de Chanel territory with its patchouli and incense notes (without fully committing to that darker, deeper, more mature path), Profondo Lights keeps things brighter and cleaner, while still offering a different kind of depth. I get an initial air of citrus and spicy cardamom which *very* quickly gives way to the heart and base notes. Its a little woody, but really the marine vibe is what shines through for me. The salty oceanic and seaweed notes remind me of bvglari's aqva line in a good way, particularly atlantiqve, but without that sulfurous rotten egg smell. The woods are only there to complement it, unlike what I get from absolu instinct, which brings the woods to the forefront. All in all, its a well rounded scent that in my mind takes the aquatic vibe of the original ADG and modernizes it without dramatically changing the soul of the fragrance. Profondo lights is easy to wear in any occasion, working best casually or in an office setting - or really in any situation where you want to smell fresh and not risk offending, but still have a little bit of zing and uniqueness to your scent. I'd say that this would be an ideal warm weather 3 season day fragrance while profumo would be its 3 season night counterpart, less fresh and more sultry and dark. While I still have a strange soft spot for absolu instinct's woods, and profumo will always be a great choice as a BdC "lite", profondo lights has found a sweet spot in my lineup as an everyday aquatic that is modern and pleasing without being boring. The only disappointment I can really think of is the continued absence of the magnetic cap and metal base, which seems to be the norm for the latest ADG flankers.

So I got my bottle earlier today and it's really nice, infact I really love it but it's not AS different from Profondo however it definitely has enough nuisances that to me stand out and make it a good purchase, the more I've had it on today the more I really love it. It has this green aspect that I think stands out nicely, it takes profondo and then adds a green note with maybe some more woods to it, and then it carries the profondo dna all throughout. It just is really damn nice, it doesn't push boundaries but thats ok because ADG isn't about that, these are meant to please and that's exactly what it does. It's also alot more potent than you'd think. Pretty good performance all around so far. I personally love having both profondo and lights, I think they're worth owning separately but not by a mile. If you're a fan of ADG and profondo in general I say give it a try , there's some nice differences in here. If you have neither I'd say you could buy this and get by ,but still try the original profondo at some point and see what you think. Overall solid release from GA as always. AdG is just a nice smooth sexy scent in general so it's hard to dislike it imo

ADG Profondo Lights (Discontinued/Limited Release despite it being a 2021 release) An everyday aquatic that is modern and pleasing without being boring. It's a warmer profondo, smells light, aquatic, aromatic. Marine vibe is there with salty vibes. Easy to wear for all occasions adding Abit of uniqueness. Similarities to Profondo in the opening but there are differences after. It's fresh, light and airy, somewhat Abit green with some woods despite the marine notes and musky Since this is considered under the new line of ADG flankers, most old ADG users will probably miss the magnetic cap and metal base. The info and ingredients sticker is no longer at the bottom of the bottle which in place is just a plain translucent bottom, the sticker got shifted to the back of the bottle and is so tiny and small that you need a magnifier to read anything at all. Batch codes also imprinted below the sticker at the back of the bottle. If you have profondo you'll probably won't need this, however it's an unique marine scent to add to one's collection since it's no longer in production.

When I first tried Acqua di Giò Profondo Lights by Giorgio Armani, I thought it was a fantastic summer fragrance, especially for hot and humid climates like South Florida. In this kind of weather, it really shines. Compared to the original Profondo, this version feels greener and fresher, with the marine “blue” aspect toned down a bit. That balance is what I enjoyed most about it. It comes across clean, airy, and very easy to wear. It works perfectly as a daytime scent. Something you can throw on with a t-shirt and shorts, but also clean enough to wear in an office setting without overwhelming anyone. That said, as I began slimming down my collection, I realized I simply wasn’t reaching for it very often. Even though it’s a very well-done fragrance for warm weather, I ended up selling my bottle to focus on scents that I connect with more strongly. Still, if you enjoy fresh summer fragrances with a slightly greener twist on the classic “blue” style, this one is definitely worth sampling. Scent: 8/10 | Longevity: 7.5/10 | Projection: 7/10 | Overall: 7.5/10

I find Profondo Lights a lot more interesting than regular Profondo, mainly because it smells like there's more going on, it smells more actually marine right from the start and less kind of like that generic blue, it's got this kind of deeper greener take on it. Profondo Lights really has this kind of deeper almost more natural smelling green sea kind of vibe. As it starts to dry and settle, it becomes a bit more greener thanks to the fir balsam, which offers an almost Christmas tree smell, and darkens a bit the whole composition, pairing well with other woody ingredients, there's also a little bit of cardamom here that adds a little bit of spice. They changed the balance on a few things whereas the rosemary is a bit more present here than in regular Profondo. It's much more fresh greens fresh spicy than super watery and aquatic. Think of it as walking through a forest with evergreen trees near the ocean. Absolutely stunning fragrance! LE: This is easily in top 3 from whole line of Acqua di Gio for me.

Probably my favorite in the ADG line minus Profumo (Nothing beats Profumo). This is a very fresh yet spicy fragrance and very UNIQUE. Don't let the mix reviews fool you it's good but I see this fragrance as Cilantro. It's either you were absolutely love this fragrance or you will don't care for it. Some say that it reminds them of some other fragrance but what this fragrance is trying to do I personally don't find it comparable to anything. This fragrance isn't recycling another DNA but trying to have a fresh but spicy tone. The green mandarin is such a nice addition and really gives the fragrance personality. The opening is nice but what I really love about this fragrance is the dry down! I love this fragrance so much it's actually my signature day fragrance while Profumo is my signature night fragrance. If you are fan of the idea of smelling like a fresh yet spicy and most comparable to seaweed then definitely pick this up! My own lone complaint is that there's NO MAGNETIC CAP!!! 😭😭😭

I bought this because the addiction is real and I can’t stop buying fragrances😂😂😂. I do like this more than Profondo. It’s certainly more mature and more green...breaking away from the classic DNA. Open up bright and a bit spicy. Not as bright as Profondo...but certainly still a spring/summer DNA. The dry down is where is certainly takes on its own personality. The dry down is much more green and mature vs. Profondo. Whereas Profondo is very sweet to me, the cypress, fir and Rosemary are easily detectable. I do not get a soapy vibe at all. For me, the dry down is mature, confident and sexy. Longevity is slightly above average as is the projection. Versatility is spring through early fall (in NH), day and night and for most occasions. Very masculine. Overall, this will easily be worn every time before Profondo. I have a healthy sample of Profondo and will give it to my co-worker. This is a flanker that deserved its own name...well done.

I stayed away from ADG back in its glory days due to its overwhelming ubiquity. I liked it; I just didn’t want to smell like everyone else. Now as an older fella much less concerned with being different than with simply smelling great, I currently own ADG Profumo and ADG Absolu. I’m a sucker for cypress and rosemary in fragrances so I had to give Profondo Lights a whiff. I did test it on paper and skin (and clothing) the day before I returned to make the purchase. I knew that I liked it, but I had to be sure about the performance. On my skin, the performance was not lacking. I won’t throw money at a frag that doesn’t pull its weight, and I could still smell it on my wrists and shirt at the end of the day. It’s not total beast mode but it’s not weak. Yeah it’s a flanker of a flanker and all of that shameless money grab crap, but it does smell good, and it performs well, so if you like aromatics, I say go for it. I’m happy with mine.

Initially got this blindly thinking it was an airy version of the OG Profondo but I was wrong. Didn't enjoy it much at the beginning because it wasn't what I thought it was but definitely has grown on me big time. Most unique ADG of the line up. I'd say it is more "green" than "blue". Does open up aquatic but the green drydown you get from the regular Profondo at the mid and the base comes up much, much sooner. It's as if OG P and Lights went to the beach together but Lights decided to go hiking instead, where the trail starts at the beach and ends deep in the forest, and OG P planned to meet up with him in the forest after swimming in the ocean for few hours. Very pleasant and a green-fresh take. Can't wait to try it in warmer weather. TWO THUMBS UP! As a bonus, the best looking bottle of the line-up lol.

I have on the right wrist Lights and on the left one the regular Profondo. The regular one smells like a common blue fragrance more on the aquatic side and very sharp, piercing. Lights is to my nose smoother, more aromatic from that cardamom and makes it more interesting. To be honest both smell very very good, the only thing being that if you already have 1, 2 blue scents I don't see the reason in getting the regular Profondo, Lights is not better, is enough different to buy it if you already have blue scents, but that is just my opinion. I have Sauvage and Dylan Blue, there is no reason to get Profondo, only to have that aquatic smell, but ok, Lights is also very blue like, I would rather get Lights. Hope it helps. No idea on the performance. Profumo is still the better one.

I absolutely love this scent! A lighter more green version of AdG Profumo in my opinion, with no smokiness, of course. With Profondo Lights you are going to get that significantly green vibe from the fragrance, there are some woodsy tendencies in the base as well. When you think of "Lights" you think of something very bright and i'm not getting that, i'm actually getting more of like an earthier texture from it. The OG Profondo stays a lot more aquatic/marine, minerally than Profondo Lights, Profondo Lights goes a little bit more green and sophisticated. Reminds me of a hike through the woods to a waterfall, aquatic with evergreen/balsamic scent.

I did not like Profondo when I smell it, also did not like Profumo very much, I find it just ok. It was because of a review that I blind bought Profondo Lights, and I did not like it in the beginning, the opening is ok, the sea notes are bright. But it was after around 4 hours that this thing was pumping solid: the "lights" were actually flares of cardamom pumping at every movement, fading eventually, lavender pulling people close to me, I got a couple quiet deep looks at the office. Vetiver+Patchouli with tints of incence screaming "I ́M A MAN!!" surely put it in another category. Not a "gentleman ́s" fragance, more like a "man ́s" fragance.

Alberto Morillas, cheers!! Kind of earthy sourness of citrus and patchouli in opening , not as clean/fresh as other flankers in the Gio line (which is a plus for me, finally different & mature Gio, not a teenage scent) , yet citrus and spices and lots of green notes are there. It's a brownish-blue scent, the most mature one, in the line. Dry down is awesome Freshness is much less, green and some woody notes are vivid Its kind of sweet vetiver (not dark) and cypress with hint of lavender + woody notes/earthy patchouli, so nice, well balanced. It's a +30 years old, modern beautifully mature balanced patchouli based woody/spicy/aromatic scent

Man... This is a smoother version of OG Profondo, Profondo Lights is airy, light and very bright in the opening, not quite as aquatic, not as synthetic as Profondo. It's balsamic, woody, green. I really really love this one, I really love the woody nuances in this, but the green in this is really good. I want a full bottle of this i think i am going to go ahead and buy one. The OG Profondo has some kind of soapy vibes and might be coming from lavender, can be overwhelming especially in the heat. Profondo Lights doesn't carry any soapiness, it has this green aspect and matureness about it. One of 2021's finest releases so far!

This is an interesting choice for a flanker and I think it mostly works. I honestly don’t get a lot of green facets that others seem to pick up, but I probably have a different idea of what “green” in a fragrance should be. To me, Profondo Lights is a slightly sweeter, more modern, and more versatile scent than all the others. I really like the opening as it really grabs my attention. The dry down to me is more nondescript (I’m definitely getting ambroxan), with some airy sweet balsamic notes I enjoy. I think this is going to be one of those divisive flankers that people either consider a nice easy reach or just kinda meh.

Since my ADG Profomo is my number 1 among the whole collection, this happens to be my newly-second-positioned perfume. I did not like Profondo from day 1, i found it very soupy and i think it is a bit wastage to purchase a soupy perfume for this amount. IN THE OTHER HAND, Profondo Lights is a great better version, it is lighter, more ozonic, more aromatic, fresher, greener and more long-lasting. I was surprised when i put it on my hand then took a shower and still smelled it after. I am definitely going to purchase it after my Aqua Di Parma Pura cologne is finished.

I tend to update my reviews after wearing for a bit, so after 6 months here it goes: I got this BOGO with Profumo. Profumo is better, but what I love about both is that they're "sexy man" smells. Alberto Morillas makes it look easy and I wish I had his job. additionally, the sweet undertone and patchouli at the very end never leave me disappointed. it's unquestionably AdG, but different from the others. performance is fine around 5-7 hrs, and every time I put it on I'm glad I did 😏

Less aquatic but sweeter and more aromatic than Profondo. This is a great scent and it's a shame that it's discontinued. This is what the EDP should've been. If the goal was to consolidate the line, EDT, Profondo Lights, and Parfum would round out a great lineup. As it stands, EDP is my least favorite and has a cloying plastic citrus note for me. Profondo Lights is enjoyable throughout and well balanced, more so than Profondo. Performance is solid, on par with Profondo.

I think this is a very nice addition to the house line of fragrances by Acqua di gio. What's this brings to the line is the profondo DNA but what less synthetic deeper Fondo lights smells way more natural smelling but it does lose a little bit in projection but in longevity is still a winner so if you like for your fragrance to last long but to sit a little closer to the skin also leaving a nice scent trail this just might be the one for you.

The most aquatic opening of the line, but not to the level sea salt of a Bvglari. Not eggy at all, safe buy. Whiffs well at the beach. Not an indoor fragrance such as Profondo. Sun brings out some tartness with the greens. Seems to dissipate much quicker in AC. Quality drydown wood and patchouli, there is a difference here from entry level designers fragrances. At no point in this fragrance's life does it smell like chemicals.

I can agree with my fellow reviewers when they say that this fragrance is an all-rounder. Use it as a daily, night out, fun time, or confidence booster. I absolutely love this frag and I once said I would never buy one because of Jeremy Fragrance (to me he hypes things up far more than what they need to be) but when I bought this it hit a home run. Don't know why I was being so biased before this because it's a great freshly.

I have nearly 100 bottles, and 6 different ADGs. This fragrance has easily garnered the most compliments and four others bought it that i know. Its gonna skyrocket in price and then everyone is gonna say how unbelievable it is. I never give my personal opinion, just how others perceive the fragrance on me. My tastes are the discontinued Irish Spring Soap bar from 1990s, and Gillette Cool wave.........that was ages ago

One of my favourites for summer And my favourite from acqua di gio line I get 7 hours longevity on high heat and very good projection but it will just work on high heat dont try to wear it on cold weather and night you can't get longevity on this occasions this is just great for summer and spring.

Nearly identical to Profondo. I like the opening of Profondo better and the dry-down of Profondo Lights more. Profondo Lights is slightly less aquatic than Profondo and has slightly worse performance. If you like this DNA, you really can’t go wrong with either. And yes, it’s redundant to own both.

This smells so good! It's less mineral aquatic than profondo. It's got a green component, but doesn't smell as herbal as Di Gio EDP. It performs about what Profondo does, 5-6 hours, but it has a better scent profile. There's nothing that smells like Profondo Lights. I've gotta get a bottle.

A better version of Profondo, has a more masculine and strong scent, with stronger green notes which makes it unique and different in a way. Edit: I just tried Profondo parfum and I can safely say Profondo light is better than parfum. The green note in light is very addictive.

Two consecutive years, ADG has dropped their best flanker. I loved Profondo and this improves on the scent. It is a more ozonic preparation of Profondo and the dry down is nearly identical. It lasted a really long time on me and pulled a compliment. Very good scent.

Probably my favorite summer fragrance and my favorite of the ADG line. Unique enough to stand out from the line without being too niche. Only issue is that it’s been discontinued so I’m a bit cautious about using it, otherwise it’d be a daily summer use for me.

Worn this a few times and I absolutely love it. There is enough of a similarity to the original to be bright, but also has altered the formula enough to be unique. I only purchased a decant but I will certainly go back for a full bottle.

Love Profondo lights!! I received a sample of Profundo and Profundo Lights and Lights was more unique to me. This is getting harder to find so I bought a couple bottles. Last about 6-7 hours for me but that’s plenty.

It smells great I liked this more than profumo Performance is great on my skin 8-9 hours Sillage is great too I think this is versatile but in winter and fall more suitably for indoor occasions

If the regular Profondo is pure ocean, this is the beach near that ocean with palm trees and some vegetation. This is a tad more sexy than Profondo due to cardamom.

blind buy safe. Its an amazing manly masculine smell. truly. however the original profondo smells the same so id just get that honestly.

I often overlook this fragrance, but every time I wear it I really enjoy it. Profondo Lights is a great flanker from a legendary line.

Very versatile, but works better in warmer weather. Projectivity and longevity are average. Smells great with green aquatic notes.

Got my backup bottle still sealed in the box. Acqua di Gio in its most aromatic. The cypress and rosemary. Stunner.

They need to bring this one back and stop releasing trash flankers. For once give the people what they want!

SOTD in honor of Giorgio Armani, RIP

So I have had this for a few weeks now and have worn it quite a bit, and here’s my take: Smells awesome, I really like it- I think it’s a worthy pick up if you’re looking for a new release that’s safe, mass appealing, and super easy to wear. Although, longevity may be an issue. So either I am going nose-blind, or this doesn’t push more than a couple of hours. I still use Profumo and that sucker has stellar longevity, as in I smell Profumo on me when I get home from work and that’s a 2020 batch. Lights does project a good amount, and it’s not super loud to where it will clear out a room. In this sense Lights is a very safe scent that won’t offend, and you will still be noticed. Despite lacking longevity, I will still put this neck and neck with Profumo for the #1 spot in the AQD line as it does smell really really good. iMo the scent alone is better than Profumo, but Profumo is a better performer. I do think Profumo had its time as top dog, but it has aged a bit, and to me its a bit more of a ‘mature’ smell- whereas Lights is the new kid on the block that everyone is looking at. You can wear this any time of year and get away with it. High-heat to cold or humid, day or night this thing can be worn whenever. This leans masculine imo. I think any age can wear this really, it’s not super sophisticated but it’s definitely respectable. As far as comparing it with the original Profondo: Lights definitely goes a different direction than Profondo- as Profondo to me is heavier, sweeter, and more aquatic. Lights is lighter, more green, aromatic, and more of a forgere- definitely I get a lot of rosemary which is a beautiful note in lights, and the cypress and cardamom are definitely there as well. I don’t think Lights is a super unique or ground breaking fragrance- but this is a total dumb reach. As far as I am aware of, this is probably the best dumb reach of 2021 that I have encountered. I knock Lights on 2 fronts: it’s not super unique, and it’s longevity is suspect. -Overall I give this an 8

i have to say....im a little disappointed. the opening strongly reminds me of Escada - Moon sparkle. Kind of a gin/melon type opening. The problem is...it really doesn't grow beyond that. Escada Moon Sparkle is a nice scent in its own right, but nothing earth shattering - more of just a nice fresh cheapie. If you havent smelled moon sparkle, this will likely smell different to you than other freshies.I'm really surprised - as this is not at all what i was expecting from an aqua di gio flanker. little if any aqua di gio dna in this (which is fine).Maybe i'm being a bit too harsh - after all, this isnt a bad scent. It's light, aquatic/melony and certainly makes for a fresh summer scent. I would also preface the statements above by saying i have not smelled profondo - so i have no point of comparison from that perspective. Overall it's a nice, albeit underwhelming summer scent. If you want something similar that runs cheaper - but accomplishes the same goal, go with moon sparkle for men (currently $38 on ebay - and also has been discontinued, so a good chance to make a buck or two should you decide to flip it).They aren't the same - but again, i see similar traits. It also shares some traits with the Abercrombie men’s release from a few years back that has a melon note (the name escapes me) - again, not the same, but similar. I suppose I should also mention - I realize that melon is not listed as a note...that’s just what I perceive when I smell this. I’m sure it’s a combination of notes playing tricks - but the outcome is melon. If I had to guess, I’d say this would be a relatively well received scent for the masses - but a dickhead like me who has smelled way too many scents may not get amped for this one - let alone someone who respects the lineage of the original aqua di gio. decent - but not for $98. i'd skip this one. i obtained mine directly from giorgio armani website. 5/10

I stumbled upon a 'used' full bottle online for a decent price, even though I was hoping to find a similar deal for the recent EDP, I pulled the trigger on this anyway as it's going to be harder to find soon. I find this Profondo Lights is the most similar to the recent EDP, with a bit of Profondo. The ADG scent in general doesn't blow me away but I do like it, these fragrances definitely have that marine or sea vibe. The thing I like about this one (and the new EDP) is that on my skin they don't have so much of the slight egg white aroma. 'Lights' has a little more green tones, the opening seems frankly a bit muddled but the dry down, while being very familiar, is rather pleasant! Honestly I think the ADG line is a little overrated and probably overpriced but they're extremely solid. The novelty with this one is a slight variation on a tried and tested formula plus a nice, limited edition (now discontinued) presentation.

A more complex & aromatic yet not necessarily better alternative to the recent Gio EDP, also for me at least a more pleasant alternative to Profondo, without the slight 'eggy' vibe that is noticeable at times in that one. I find Lights to be more discreet/softer than either of the other two but it's definitely a nice addition to the ADG line. I don't think it's essential to have more than one of the three fragrances I mentioned unless you are particularly fond of the DNA/want your bottle(s) to last longer. Anyone who is interested in 'Lights' should probably pick it up sooner rather than later as it's a limited edition as far as I know ;)

This was referred to as a limited edition by one of the service reps at the Armani site. It is discontinued along with Profumo and Code Absolu. I found a small bottle of Lights on fragrancenet and bought it. Should receive it soon. I also ordered a big bottle of Profumo. Get yours while you can, if you love it. I'll come back and review Lights when I get it. Very heavy duty citrus in the opening, I don't pick up much cardamom. It's a twist on Profondo, but I'm not sure I like it more. The dry down is very nice. Although I like it overall, to me, it is not a must-have. I'll wear it and see if it grows on me.

When comparing ADG Absolu and Absolu Instinct, those are two very different scents. Profondo and Profondo Lights are on the other hand very close in scent profile. I quite agree with sebseb below. The original Profondo is brighter, but smells kinda generic and boring. Lights is a much more interesting fragrance, but it does not project as much as the original. It's like comparing Bleu de Chanel EDT with BdC EDP. BdC EDP is a better, more interesting fragrance, but it doesn't have the projection or the longevity as the EDT. However, I still prefer BdC EDP and now Profondo Lights.

Acqua di Gio Profondo ligths is a aquatic, ozonic and and aromatic fragrance. Its smell is near to Profondo, but for me this is more brilliant and ozonic, and at the same time is more amber in the drydown. It smell really good, but isn't good than Profumo, at least for me. Is a ideal choice for summer and spring, but it can be used all around year. Its longevity is very good, over 10 hrs. I like it, but I get the same feeling with Boss Orange Feel Good Summer, so I don't need two fragrances very similar.

To my novice nose, for some reason, with the added cardamom, the Green Mandarin note seems more prevalent in Profundo Lights than in Profundo, making it seem to me slightly sweeter and slightly less salty/bitter in the citrus than Profundo. Imperfect analogy that might annoy the experts here ;), but if Profundo were Squirt soda, Profundo Lights would be Sprite. I like a bit of citrus, just not so intensely bright as Profundo, so I personally prefer the shadier Profundo Lights.

Profundo Lights is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It is similar to the OG Profundo, but Profundo Lights is fresher, sweeter, and airier than the original. I call it Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde because of the performance, which, after numerous wearing, I still don't know what to expect. As far as smell is concerned, I always get the same scent profile. Performance has been so, so but I can agree that it is a respectable flanker in the ADG lineup.
