Acqua di Gioia

This is my signiature perfume. I have worn this since 2023 so for three years now. I have bought tens of other perfumes but nothing comes close to this. I have also never smelled anything similar to this. When i discovered this fragrance i didnt know anything about perfumes as i had only just started wearing perfume and mine at the time was escada flor de sol. I went shopping with my mum and we just wandered into the beauty store and i decided to smell all the perfumes i had seen on tiktok that were popular at the time. I didnt like not one of those popular perfumes. So as i was leaving i saw the display for the armani perfumes and this one just caught my eye and i decided to smell it. And when i tell you it was instant love. Since i didnt know anything’s about perfumes i could not single out a single note in this perfume and i also just didnt think about it. All i knew was that it smelled good and refreshing. A little while later i got it and i have been wearing it ever since. Also my ex boyfriend absolutely loved this perfume. It drove him crazyyyy. Literally. I had him smell some other perfumes i had like good girl supreme, burberry her and some other popular ones but he didnt like none of those. My mom also loves this perfume so much so that she wants to steal it from me. This is my genuine review i just really love this perfume. Even now that i have quite a big collection of perfumes and have smelled hundreds this one still is at the top.

While I was walking around the stores with my sister, I found myself in the perfume section as always. My sister always complains about me trying perfumes all the time. 😂 I made my poor sister wait for minutes and she got really bored because perfumes don't interest her at all. Finally she gave up and I made her smell a few perfumes. It was last August and the weather was very hot. I claimed that some fresh perfumes can have a refreshing effect on people. And I made her smell this perfume. I don't know if she liked it or because I really didn't spend minutes there, she said, you can buy me a gift if you want. It worked. I bought it and we went out. 😂 I saw my sister wearing this fragrance a few times. Maybe she liked it. As for me, I love this fragrance. It has a very fresh and airy scent. It has the indispensable white floral notes and a little woodiness in women's perfumes. It suits a polite lady very well, I think it is a fragrance she can wear in any condition in the summer months. My sister said that the longevity is neither good nor bad. I can easily recommend it to all women as a male preference. In fact, it has such a fresh and relaxing scent that sometimes I even think of wearing it myself.

So light. So airy. I feel like a mermaid that lives in a pearlescent and marvelous water fountain when I wear this. This scent screams green, and it gives a light watermelon undertone even though it isn't listed. I smelled this on a patient I had, asked her what she was wearing, and knew I had to have this scent in my collection. This scent seems to stay on me for HOURS, as I get compliments on it all day, even though after a few hours for me, I seem to go nose-blind, but as long as I still smell so elegant and oceanic to others, I'll take it. Picture this; you are collecting seashells by the coastline of Rhodes in Greece, the pebbly and black sand is rough yet smooth at the same time, the shells shine more than any star, and the water is brighter than the most brilliant cerulean. You will remember this Summer till your very last. End scene. This perfume was made for Summer, and beach trips, although I could see it being a lovely evening scent for dinner. This will be a staple in my Summer collection. 9.8/10.

In my opinion, this perfume is such a beast mode. It permeates through every room. I’m not sure if others relate, but I do think this perfume is such a good bang for your buck. You’ll smell it on yourself and others will be able to smell it too. It smells like you’re going sailing on a Sunday morning. It’s so aquatic and pretty. This perfume is an ode to the ocean’s beauty and grace. I truly do think it’s such a precious, timeless, and young scent. I wouldn’t say it’s mature, but it’s good for a young woman in her late teens or early 20s. It smells so gentle, aquatic, and mesmerizing. I can picture mermaids wearing this. Like in the movie Aquamarine where Sarah Paxton is wearing blue head to toe and puts the talking starfish on as earrings. I can definitely sense that Aquamarine was an Acqua do Gioia girl. Beautiful scent. Encore!!!!!!

This is a fresh, feminine aquatic fragrance that is both salty and floral, which is less common than the strictly floral or the overtly sweet vanilla fragrances that are dominating Western markets right now. I'm familiar with masculine aquatics which are ubiquitous due to their inoffensive, fresh nature. But a squarely feminine fragrance with a citrus opening, a salty heart, a crisp green accord, and freshness that lingers on clothes and skin? What's not to like? Unlike many feminine scents that can be too sweet and inappropriate for warm weather, this one is clean and refreshing. I love this perfume on my wife, and delight being in her scent bubble when she wears it. It's perfect for spring and summer days when you want to feel light and airy.

This is my signature scent. I've been wearing it ever since it was released. It was the first perfume that I really invested in (as a teenager, this felt like a real investment at the time). After wearing it for 10+ years, I have been curious about exploring other scents, which is how I found this website. I do enjoy trying on new scents and switching it up, but Acqua di Gioa will always hold a special place in my heart and I can't imagine another scent taking its place as #1. At some point, it became a part of my identity. It's super fresh and gorgeous. It's young and bright. Imagine having the best day at the beach, sipping mojitos with your besties, going home and taking a shower, and climbing into silk sheets. That's how it makes me feel.

Beautiful freshie, the mint note comes out much later in the drydown. In the beginning it's a little intermixed with the florals and the citrus. But it does come out a little later. It stays more like a sweet mint. That is, I suppose, the sugar cane note which keeps the mint sweet. So it's not a herbal, dry freshie, but actually quite of a sweet one. It's lasting power is actually quite good for a freshie. Normally they don't last long at all, but this is about medium strength. It does smell like something I've smelled from the 90s before, but I don't mind that at all. Pairs amazing with other citrussy scents for layering.

This is the first real perfume I’ve ever got. Everytime I’d go into Sephora or Ulta I’d put some on. My sister ended up buying it for me and I wore it at my wedding. I got so many compliments. It’s very fresh cool crisp & clean with a touch of floral, mint and sweet citrus. Leans unisex. Gives me cool water vibes or nautical voyage but make it feminine lol! But now I’m craving a change. I don’t find myself reaching for it anymore like I’m burnt out from it. I’m wanting something with more depth maybe a fruity floral with a touch of warmth.

Ah, this must be what Mediterranean summer smells like! The combo of the mint with the citrus and floral notes is absolutely delectable and addicting. This scent is perfect for summer and spring. Really fresh and citrusy. The smell of it makes me thirsty for an ice cold lemonade while laying on a beach on an island somewhere. This mixes well with my skin chemistry. I can spray it on me and it lasts a long time. I can spray it on and still smell it on my skin 12+ hours later. This is an absolute must have for the upcoming warm weather!

My ride or die. Nothing but love for this beautiful fresh scent. The lemon and mint open the scent which makes it smell not quite like either. A watery, clean, lightly floral experience, summer in a bottle. Sophisticated enough for a white table cloth dinner on the beach at a swanky resort, but fresh and light enough for everyday, especially summer. This scent is not loud, it is gorgeously light. Reminds me of a tray of fresh citrus served on a sailboat cruise in the Mediterranean at sunset. A mid-day reapplication may be necessary.

Agree it's a bit screechy, disagree that it's powdery. I really like this scent overall. A good daytime perfume for summer days, but I also recommend it for chilly spring days, the sweetness sings more in the cold and reads green apple to me. The refreshing, aquatic sweetness gives a promise of warmer weather to come. Also a decent alternative to D&G Light Blue if you want some variety for the same occasion or if you can't wear LB because someone you knew wore it religiously for a decade. It's a more approachable version of LB.

I was nose blind to aquatics for many years. To me, it was just another generic fragrance smell. However, one day I could suddenly detect the lightness, freshness, and woodiness, that define aquatics as well as the nuanced differences between brands. Acqua di Gioia is a beautifully done fragrance that has more longevity than most aquatics - especially on clothing. It also has a floral touch that leans feminine although I'm sure it would be suitable for men as well. If you're a fan of aquatics - be sure to test this one.

the BEST clean, citrusy perfume i have ever smelled. before this, i thought citrus perfumes just weren't for me, they always smelled like clorox to me. this, however, has the perfect balance. it's a very floral-y yet sweet perfume with a hint of lemon, making it a very nice refreshing smell for the summer/hot weather. the projection and lasting power are also quite nice, which is something i haven't been experiencing much with perfumes lately. i can see this becoming a signature scent year round as well, it's that good!

This is a classic – my go-to scent in the summer when I want to smell fresh and clean. The scent is exactly what the notes suggest: to me, it’s like a fresh, ocean breeze on a summer day. The longevity is moderate, but you can boost it a little by applying a nice, fresh-scented body lotion underneath.

I adore this. Strolling the rivieras, the beach, the pier, east coast waters while listening to beautiful music. A perfect summer scent. Refreshing, feminine, clean and classy. Amazing!! Ugh I cannot get enough. The bottle is also beautiful. One of my favorites of all time. I know the votes lean towards day wear usage mostly, but a late night dinner date after swimming all day, damp hair, a beautiful dress, a fresh tan, hydrated skin, and I can see this perfume being magical during night time! So so so beautiful.

I fell absolutely in love with this upon first trying it. It’s so gorgeous. So well balanced and really fresh and clean like the most luxurious soap you’ve ever used. It has a slight sweetness from the brown sugar that keeps it very feminine and not at all “screechy” like some citrus-forward fragrances can be. Also, I was so pleasantly surprised because this has some power! It’s not your average fresh scent that disappears after an hour or two. Amazing for a signature scent year round as it’s so fresh and pretty.

I was looking for a scent that was an inoffensive, everyday scent. This is sooo fresh and addicting. I'm in love. It's the first time a citrus note works with me!! The perfume gets powdery after about an hour or so. The woody sweet base gives off unisex vibes. I can't place it, but it smells like the early 2000's--like something the girls from Aquamarine would use. This is great for the office and great for for being out and about. It lasts all day when used after non-scented lotion. Love, love, love.

It's funny, I always knew without testing, that I would love Aqua Di Gioia. Today I finally tested it and fell in love with it's strong, fresh aquatic nature which has no stingy, sharp notes in it, no melon and no water lily (I am tired of those). My zodiac sign is Pisces. This could easily represent my sign. I almost see and hear the sea when wearing this. This scent has uplifting, energetic nature - it is truly Water of Joy. Longevity is great, sillage is moderate.

Old Acqua di Gio was the first perfume I ever owned so I wanted something that would remind me of that. This one is not entirely a replacement but it has the same vibe. It is not very minty which I like, to me it is very fresh and clean, not overly citrusy. I would say aquatic is the best description. As expected for this type of scent, longevity is not its strength. However this is perfect for hot weather or gym or weekend walks in the nature.

Clean, fresh, citrusy and fruity, I didn't really pick up on the lemon but more of a blood orange, or a kinda pomegranate note. It smelled amazing at first and I gradually fell out of love with it. It slightly reminds me of Burberry Her EDT since they're both very clean smelling, but this is Hers popular older sister who's a lifeguard at the community pool. Not a fan of the bottle but that doesn't really matter

Rocks on the sand. Walks on the Passeggiata dei Baci in a bikini and sarong. Armani aviator sunglasses. Sipping on limoncello spritz with a mint garnish. The sound of Vespas zipping on land. La dolce vita.

I really like this! My initial reaction is that it’s pretty and light. A delicate floral that’s a bit sweet without being overbearing or too juvenile. In my opinion, it reminds me of Versace Bright Crystal Absolu.... With maybe a hint of juicy couture energy. Sophisticated, fun, and bright. I’ll update more as I wear! As of now, it’s an 8.5/10 from me and I recommend it!

I REALLY LOVE THE SMELL!! This perfume smells so fresh, light, and clean that I don’t even want to finish the bottle. I’m honestly in love with the scent, but I’m not totally sure about how long it lasts. After a few hours, I can barely smell it on myself. If there’s a longer-lasting version of this fragrance, I’d buy it without even thinking about the price.

My very first Fancy Perfume bought as a souvenir on my very first international trip. A scent memory of someone I used to be. Clean, watery, with a surprisingly insistent base that soaks deep into my skin and lasts for hours. I don't get mint directly, but it might just amplify the overall "fresh" impression? Pulls more androgynous on me which I love.

I like the minty opening though it's not so strong on me. Overall, it's a very easy fresh, floral scent to wear on a daily basis without overpowering people around me. Has a more a generic pretty scent profile which dries down to a subtle, watery sweetness. Not the most unique scent but it still puts me in a good mood which I call a win.

This is my favourite summer perfume! I have been wearing it for about 3 years, and can't get enough of it. Reminds me of an after rain smell on a summer day. It sounds very harmonious on my skin and surrounds me with the scent of the beauty of the nature around me. I feel very confident while wearing me. I love the way it smells on me.

Oh my I love the opening of this fragrance it is a very girly, minty, fresh, aquatic however the dry down comes through very fast after about 1 hour ish and the dry down is just like any drugstore linen fragrance. I am not a fan of the price point.. I love the scent but maybe you can find something similar in the drugstore.

This is one of the only aromatic fragrances I enjoy. To me, it smells exactly like summer, like you've just showered and you're walking through a little bush to get to the beach. You can smell the salt from the sea, but also the wood and the flowers on the path you're taking. It's clean, fresh, just earthy enough.

I love love love love this. I repurchased this like five times now I really wish the mint was a little bit stronger in it, but however, I still appreciate it because it is really hard to find perfumes with a mint scent in it a super good freshie I feel like if you like a fresh clean scent you cannot go wrong

One of my favorites that have stuck with me throughout the last couple years I've been wearing perfume. It's good, but as others have said the mint note isn't present unfortunately. It suits me perfectly for a nice meal out or a date. It gives me a good five or so hours, then it stops being noticeable.

That initial blast of florals is really strong but it dries down into something tart, refreshing, and pleasant. Makes me feel like drinking a lemon julep poolside in the summer. I actually find that the lasting power is really decent and gets me through a shift at work, but the sillage is fairly weak.

Love at first sniff! The moment I smelled it on a decant I knew I'd get a full size bottle. I finally found an inoffensive scent that smells fresh, but not too citrusy, salty and NO vanilla on it. I love vanillas and I wanted to add lighter scents on my collection when it's a hot and humid weather.

5/5 a refreshing favorite for a casual hot day! It's light, not too floral or powdery like a granny perfume (which I've had trouble with for other florals), and refreshing in a nice watery way. I found layering unnecessary, which adds to the ease of use. Definitely want a full bottle of this one!

This is definitely one of my favorite summer scents. Its very bright and sunny without being tanning lotion heavy. The closest I can come to describing this perfume is getting some kind of citrus juice in your mouth while being on a boat. This perfume just feels very boat after pool kind of vibe.

I loved the start so much, I was sure I was going to buy it. Then it soon turned into Light Blue, which is nice, but I already have it. Then like 15 minutes in it became scratchy and suffocating for me. I wish I knew why. EDIT: I mistook it with Air di Gioia. Acqua di Gioia is divine.

imagine taking a walk through a lemon grove and then rolling around in a patch of mint. almost overwhelmingly lemony at first spray but dries down to smell fresh and herby. lasts forever on me (8+ hours!) and thank god, because it's my favorite. this is a warm summer day in a bottle.

The perfect fragrance for me, which holds its special place. Beautiful real lemon and mint essence, freshness and cleansiness themselves. It's the personification of the crisp summer day spirit, and inhaling it has an immediate uplifting "vibrational" effect.

My mom luckily had a vintage bottle of this and gifted it to my girlfriend. I love this scent so much. She wore it on vacation in Mexico and every time she wears it, it gives me flash backs. This without a doubt is one of my favorites in her collection.

Iconic scent that is fresh enough, soft enough, sweet and energizing enough. For me it is green tea with bergamot slices that stand on the table next to watermelon plate. In the Cafe located near the ocean early in the morning. Beautiful 😍

I really love the smell of this perfume but it only lasts about 1-2hrs on me and is very faint. Would love some more complexity to the scent as well. However, as a fan of fresh scents I think this one is just very classic and lovely

I wish I knew of this perfume when I was in highschool. It is so light, bright, uplifting, summery, not boring, has that Light Blue aura, but less salty. Recommendation to those who are looking for easily likable summer scent.

The first time smelling it i was like” oh tea!!” But surprisingly there wasn’t tea note in it. But i think this one is very fresh and clean and a bit floral yet extremely “green”. Longevity: 3-4 hours. Sillage: 1 arm

It surprisingly smells pretty on me. I live in a tropical country and it is currently my daily perfume. The citrus and green notes balance each other perfectly. It is also a calming scent.

Absolutely beautiful, fresh, effervescent fragrance that is basic, but basic done very well. Just brings fresh, clean girl vibes and every time I smell this on a girl, its great. 10/10

A well balanced symphony of acquatic, citrus scents. Like enjoying a refreshing drink on an Italian villa. Unlike other lemon scents that give pinesol, this is a pure joy to the nose.

Fresh, light, like a breeze, a touch of water and air. I loved it. I usually dislike all the greeny cytrusy like smells but that one is the only exception.
