Armani Code Absolu Gold

I have been a fan of Armani Code since it was released. I bought this when it was announced and bought it from the Armani USA site. I had never been a fan of the florals but it is done very nice with this one. I get more Iris than Saffron but you definitely get both in the middle. Yesterday, during quarantine, I was eating outside and a waitress came by when her mask dropped below her nose. She turned around and asked what I was wearing. I put on two spays 4 hours earlier. This one lasts as long as the original Code on me. If you have Absolu already, this may seem like a redundant purchase but I own both and I am glad that I do. After the dry down, Absolu Gold and Absolu are close. But, the middle is different on this one. It is my favorite of all the Code flankers.

divine opening of mandarin and apple as in code absolu then instead of the annoying carrot seeds comes the floral part not made from orange blossom but from a divine iris not absolutely a lipstick iris because divinely accompanied by saffron which gives it a sweet and sour taste. then a dark tonka bean and excellent cedar wood and so much benzoin that does not make it cloying like the albeit excellent code absolu. vanilla is replaced by iris and this gives it a non-gourmand and in my opinion more balsamic taste. mandarin is always present. guaico wood masculizes it even more with a slight smoking. masterpiece. a version of a perfume with iris but not feminine but masculine. divine performance. 9/10 the best of the series.

Exists in a space between Code Absolu, Le Male Le Parfum, and Dior Homme Intense. On its own, it's a beautiful sweet vanillic iris garnished with a fresh, fizzy orange-apple top. This is less intensely powdery or pure vanilla than OG Absolu to my nose, with the floral-aromatic accords in the mid, but less aromatic than LMLP without lavender here to bolster the iris. It's fairly well balanced between the vanilla and iris notes. The woody and suede-ish base is quite a bit more noticeable here as well, giving it shades of DHI if you traded ~55% of its iris in for vanilla. Similar performance to OG Absolu, though I get more longevity as a skin scent from that one. Moderately soft projection for 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr.

I have smelled both absolu and this one and actually own this, and I will say both of them do not smell like each other. In fact, I wouldn't even know that this is a flanker to absolu. That's how not similar they are. Absolu is sweeter, more vanilla heavy and kind of young and youthful, whereas this one tones down the sweetness a little, and takes a more floral and powdery direction. There still is some vanilla sweetness with the tonka bean and benzoin, but the florals help to kinda balance it out. So it's not as sweet, and not redundant to own both, in my opinion anyway. Too bad absolu is discontinued. Would've loved to own it.

In my humble and honest opinion, this is the best Code fragrance of all time. I know, I know. There is some really good competition. Absolu is great, as is the Profumo. The older batches are (for obvious reasons) also great. But this, is Code on another level. I hate the fact that these flankers are all discontinued, in favor of streamlining/mass market/Macy's fragrance walk-ins/etc..., but we cannot do anything about that. Bottles are becoming very difficult to find, from reputable resellers. It frustrates me, but yes it is part of the fragrance space. Again, this is just my opinion.

I don’t understand why everyone is saying just like absolu, not worth it and all these stuff, well in the opening they smell a bit the same but just give this 2 minutes and each one of them has his its own character the vanilla note is toned down so much in absolu gold and it’s smells so so so good it’s an addiction for me - the vanilla-tonka dry down for me is not pretty unique as i get it in Uomo by SF and Bad Boy by CH, absolu gold is my new addiction i love it so much and the performance is enormous 10/10 for sure.

Was so happy to snag this recently from the Armani sale and man it is just so good, easily one of the best. I still put Code Absolu at number 1, and then gold and the new EDP id say are tied..there's just something so warm, creamy, bright, uplifting about Absolu Gold. I just find myself lost in the spices of this fragrance and I say it alot but this for me is why I can easily pass on niche fragrances, this is quality for a reasonable price and that on top of how good it smells is all I need to enjoy smelling good. 👍

This one is very close to Absolu and it is clear they really wanted it to be an office-friendly scent. Where Absolu is warm, spicy and alluring, this one is more clean and toned down. Unlike some youtube reviewers, I can smell a lot of iris in here. It has some similarities with Prada L'Homme Intense, where Absolu gold is less heavy in the iris and has more tonka bean. To try to picture the scent, imagine if you mixed Prada L'Homme Intense with Code Absolu. This will be a way to get an idea of the scent profile.

Code Absolu is one of my all time favorite scents.This smells very much like Absolu, with a slight twist. If you get this and think it is going to be miles different than Absolu, you may be disappointed. I love Code Absolu so much, I am glad to have something similar but different. Also with Absolu being discontinued, I was able to get this one at a pretty decent price. If you love Code Absolu, get this if you can. This is just a big wow! A vanilla bomb that smells seductive. I own this and the OG, both are great and different, if you like the vanilla note buy. Scent 10/10 Sillage 9/10 Projection 9/10 Longevity 10/10 Versatility 6/10 Packaging 10/10 Value 9/10 Seasons I would wear Autumn and winter. In the UK, on a really cool Spring day or night I would wear this less sprays. One word to describe this - Seductive.

Code Absolu is my favorite fragrance so i decided to try this flanker, i found a 60ml bottle for 32 euros, a steal. This is pretty much like Absolu with some powdery and some freshness, i love this small twist. Unfortunately i'm disappointed about the performances, absimal sillage with poor longevity, didn't expect that at all as the original Absolu is a really strong fragrance. 9/10

Very close to Armani Code Absolu but with an added sweetness from Iris. It is not very different but the twist makes it better than the original in my opinion. It is redundant to own both. I bought Harmony Code Absolute from Fragrance World which clones the original Absolu just so i can keep this one for special ocasions.

I just filled up my travalo with this perfume and I can say due to the way travalo distribute fragrances this smells amazing compared to the times I used to spray it from the original bottle. To me this is a great late fall winter, and cooler spring day perfume . last around 10 hours and projects nicely . 8.5 out of 10

My favorite of all the flankers. Wore it a couple of times in the past week and I did enjoy both times. The opening with green apple and orange smells really good. Since I only have a 50 ml bottle and it's been discontinued I will probably be more conservative about how many times I will wear this one

Armani code Absolute gold Is like Invictus platinum but more grown up. I like it more than profundo and absolu honestly. It’s just so good. The smell is 9/10 the longevity is 7/10. This is discontinued so if u can find it blind buy it. No woman will say this smells bad ever.

Ambery and powdery vanilla amber bomb with a solid leather. Very beautiful, projects strongly and is still very present after almost 5 hours after application. Best for cool/cold weather, this can definitely be a staple in the collection for the appropriate season(s).

Completely caught me off-guard. This is AMAZING! Code DNA with sweetness and still some freshness. Had me tripping on the smell for quite some time. Don't care, I wore it in both spring and summer and had a blast.

This stuff is amazing! The saffron and iris in the middle really elevate it above your typical spicy cologne. It's warm, inviting, and gets me tons of compliments.

Been wearing this all weekend and I clearly smell the same leather note that ombré leather have . I’m surprised the leather isn’t listed in note breakdown

Such a shame it is discontinued! A amazing fall/winter scent! A Iris type sweetness and a powdery vanilla with a slight spicy leather note!

Ok, I just blind buy this because of the youtube review. I already had profumo for more than 4years that I bought it at full retail price after 1st sniff. Yes, it's love at first sniff that's what you can tell how much I love the profumo. Same as all of you I smell absolu last year when it's first came out and yes it's more complex and well-blended but it's redundant to profumo. However, IMO i prefer profumo more because i don't like the carrot seed note at all. Although many people vote for less carrot seed note but i prominent in my nose. So, I stick with profumo. But this year, yeah!! another flanker that no carrot seed. And many reviewers told that absolu gold is not redundant to profumo. So sad in my country counter did not contribute the absolu gold, i need to blind buy. Start the review here. Not a big surprise or big love maybe some regret. First sniff it's sweet but in another way than profumo. Because of the iris note in this is a sweet iris not like the prada iris or dior iris Some of you vote for le male le parfum, right. But not for me. Yes i just blind bought le male le parfum too and after first sniff yes the iris is prominent. But the iris in absolu gold is tend to like in the halloween man shot. That make me no surprise after the first sniff and make me some regret. (And montblanc legend night is a bit like holloween man shot although not mention the iris note which you may detect the same style bottle of legend night and profumo YES in my head it's make me though that absolu gold is the less sweet version of legend night AND AND the perfumer is the same bros !!! That make me feel very regret because i already had legend night and didnot use so much because of the over sweetness May be i will retire the legend night and replaced with absolugold) although the middle note is quite like the legend night the base is exactly the code DNA The performance is less projection and longevity like other said. This is the office version of code profumo and absolu. But not for all office it's depend for your work too. Conclusion If you love code profumo and/or absolu and want to wear it for work -> yes buy this, it's your good choice If you have halloween man shot or legend night -> smell this before you buy If you found man shot or legend night is to sweet -> again this is your godd choice too.

Very similar to Absolu, but a little less intense. Projects less and doesn't last as long...but is still very good in both categories. If Absolu was the more mature version of Profumo, this one is even more so. It is a tiny bit fresher due to more florals, and safer for office wear than Absolu. The added Iris is small and is not lipsticky, but clean/fresh, and comes through more in the mid. The saffron isn't spicy, but adds just a tiny little bit of zing. A bit less depth than the others as the notes of leather/suede are greatly toned down, but it is still sweet and a good performer. Somewhat redundant if you already have Absolu. A classy and well put together fragrance, and my favorite of the last 3 releases.

I came across a lone bottle of Absolu Gold at my local Marshall's. A 110ml for 80 bucks. I have never had my nose on any of the other Code fragrances, so I have nothing to compare it to, but for that price this scent is alright. It is pleasing and inoffensive and definitely would be appreciated as a clean scent by those who smell it, but it is not a powerhouse in terms of projection. I sprayed myself heavily before I left for work, and now, around lunchtime, I still am catching small whiffs on my clothes. I see this working well on a date or in the office, but definitely for more intimate settings. I may return my bottle. Still on the fence.

I already own the edp, edt, ultimate, a list, parfum and absolu. I was a little dubious about this, as some have said its redundant if you have absolu. I am really pleased i tried it, it's a spicier less sweet version of absolu. It has lasted a solid 7 hours on me, with reasonable projection. I had stronger with you on earlier in the day and could smell this above that. Definitely get a leather note, although not listed. The Saffron is a nice addition. I would say I'd pick this over absolu and if you can find it at a reasonable price (I paid £35 for 60ml) go for it.

For me it smells like a soft Ultra Male by JPG, soft but too sweet

I would consider Code Absolu Gold a mature, classy fragrance, best suited to cool evening wear. Projection and longevity are both respectable. Probably 6 feet, for six hours. It definitely has the Armani Code signature DNA and reminds me of the Armani Mania I had back in 2007-2008, when my collection was maybe 3 or 4 frags. The main notes I pick up are: saffron, benzoin and guaiac wood. Tonka, iris and cedar are present too, but they are not front and center. I don't get any mandarin or apple. It comes across powdery, balsamic, woody, faintly leathery, soft/warm spicy, with the slightest sweetness. It's an OK fragrance, but it's not a favorite of mine and nothing I'm likely to pick over my other fragrances. I bought the biggest bottle and imagine it'll be on my shelf for a very long time, unless I give it away. Code Absolu Gold is discontinued, but with it's Armani Code signature scent profile, you would probably be fine getting a bottle of the new Code Parfum, or any other of the Code Absolu flankers, still left in the lineup, rather than paying the markup to get your hands on this.

Rootbeer float. Beginning to end. Tonka bean, saffron and benzoin. That is all I get from this. I agree with others who say it is a lighter version of Absolu in scent and performance. I don't mind sweet fragrances for men if there is something more masculine in the base like Oud, tobacco, or leather, but these designer Tonka sweets do nothing for me. If you already have profumo or Absolu, don't bother with this one.

Its "gold" comes very very late in the dry down. The other things are more less not too different from Profumo and Absolu. Unless..if the ones you want to attract are cats, they have 14 times sensitivity than us human Scent: 7/10 Performance: 8/10 Value: 5/10 Looking for sweet scents? Try S.T. Dupont Royal Amber, and Perfect Tobacco instead. You'll be surprised of their juice quality

Generic. Sweet. Dumb reach. What can I say? It’s not really unique, but gets the cool weather job done. If I were to already have Eros, 1 Million, or another of the other sweet designer bottles, I probably wouldn’t need this. They’re not the same, but they provide that loud creamy/sweetness that pops in cold weather. Glad I only have a decant

At first I didn’t really like this one. Then I wore it for a couple of days and now I really like it🙂. But the preformance is extremely weak, isn’t it? I’ve never experienced anything like it. It’s like a very close skin scent right from the beginning. If I want to smell it just a bit I have to reaply every hour or so😟

Middle of the mall, basic, safe

Another cloying Tonka Bean bomb. I just can’t handle Tonka Bean as the dominant note, it’s the only smell that I can’t handle as a dominant note in any perfume! Chanel Sport Eau Extreme and Prada Luna Rossa Black are two example of this. They’re not synthetic or poorly made scents, they are just so cloying and heavy in their sweetness that they give me an almost instant headache. I like the spices in this though.

This is Absolu Trash. Probably the worst Code I've ever smelled. Doesn't smell similar to Absolu or Profumo. Saffron and Iris are the strongest players to my nose. Most comparable fragrance to me is Le Male Parfum. Skip this junk and stick with Absolu or Profumo. Both smell and perform way better. This useless flanker doesn't project and last long. Absolutely dreadful release.

I bought this when it first came out. Well, i purchased the signature (60ml) version and was sent this. They profusely apologized and i was going to send it back. However, i did further digging and it turned out to be the exact same as the signature version. So i kept it. What piqued my interest was the exclusivity of the signature version along with the addition of iris. At the time I was all over anything iris and imagined missing out on, what appeared to be, a stellar note breakdown. When i got it, it smelled generic. I was a bit miffed. Felt hoodwinked. It sat and sat and sat for the longest until i was wearing something youthful (attire)—but tasteful—and decided to enhance that theme with this. The reactions i received was unbelievable. To be clear, i never received a direct compliment on this. BUT, i got an unusual amount of positive attention by women. One, in the office, told another woman that “Whatever that is smells good.”. But the woman told her she didn’t have anything on. So, hey, take that for what it’s worth. The other incidents weren’t as tied to the fragrance but that day i received a good amount of unsolicited and random conversations from people of the opposite sex. It could have been the attire or a mix of the two. Anyhow, I can’t see myself parting with it but i can’t see myself placing this on my forever list either. What sucks with having a large collection is not having the time needed to experience a given fragrance without letting dust settle on others. When I see people with HUGE collections talking bout running through bottles... i can’t see it.

I loved Absolu and initially i was not very happy with Gold's performance but something happened to it after a few weeks. Maceration turned this one into a fragrance now i love the most in the code line. It opens with bright orange and sweetness from tonka. 10 mins into it and the Iris and saffron start to show up and it becomes this sweet citrusy floral. Very pleasant and smooth. Orange is still present in the mid and mixes very well with the iris. I do not pick the saffron that much. The mid lasts for an hour or so and then comes the base where it continues to get sweet and creamier by the minute. Amazing dry down where it is tonka benzoin creamy with hints of woody notes. Absolute love. The performance is in terms of projection is average. It projects well in the first 2 hours or so and the projection starts to go down after that but is still projecting up to the 4th hour. The longevity i get with this one is insane. It could just be my skin but i pick it on my skin well after 12 hours. Sillage is great because of the fragrance is dense and heavy in nature. All in all, this is better than absolu and profumo, but that's just me.

The opening is absolutely stunning and addicting with hints of fruitiness, once dried down it starts to become an inviting and intimate sweet-spicy masterpiece. The iris despite being the center is not heavy in a headache-inducing way, rather it blends well with the sweetness of tonka. One can rock this in a colder setting, however it is not at all tied with being a date scent. I have experienced wearing this in an office and the attention it drew was phenomenal. However, prepare to dress up a bit carefully when wearing this. Overall: 9.5/10, the performance on my skin was a bit lackluster compared to other warm fragrances that I have but maybe that makes the scent linger just enough to give others an unforgettable impression.

main 3 notes i get from this is tonka-benzoin-iris. opening of fruits dissipate very quick. but the scent is very pleasant. iris is always there for me on the side (not lipsticky but floral), never the star but noticable in all stages. saffron in the mid is not my favorite note but still retains the great smell nevertheless. dry-down is amazing. mainly tonka-benzoin. although would suit anyone, this is perfect for gents in their 30's. good quality stuff. i'd be surprised if you don't get any compliments in cold weather. winter banger. sillage is not so great but longevity is above average.

A pleasant sweetness begins this one off, nothing cloying or over-the-top. The iris and saffron never really dominate the fragrance or come to the front, they kind of mix together into a general "floral spiciness" detectable in the mid. The tonka and benzoin pretty much run the show here, so you can expect a smooth and pleasant wear the whole time. The sweetness level is dialed in just right, and the combination of notes just works and I believe would be pleasant to just about anyone's nose. Scent: 8/10

Never had any Armany products before, the store assistant girl recommended this to me and all I can say is WOW, I'm amazed and it keeps me amazed. I intentionally don't look at ingredients. To me it smells like warm, sweet vanilla cream, with a bit of nuts and barely noticeable wood, this and at the same time sparkly fresh notes. It makes me really delirious and I can only guess what it does to women. This is one of the best if not the best vanilla fragrances out there.

They are actually quite different now that I own both. Gold has more of a unflavored cotton candy vibe to it, along with some woodyness and more saffron. It can come of baccarat rouge 540 like at times too. I'd say they're 70-80% similar. Initially i thought they were identical but boy was i wrong.

Why release Classic fragrances like Code Profumo, Absolu and Absolu Gold and discontinue them within 2-3 years of their release? At least, why not keep supplying Grey Market websites if you’ve chosen as a brand to move in another direction on your official website with different products?

You don’t realize how much iris this has in it until you do a side by side comparison with Code Ultimate. Code Ultimate is all about sweet syrupy tonka bean and Code Absolu Gold is predominantly a mix of iris and roasted tonka
