Armani Code Sport

When Armani Code Sport hit the shelves in 2011, I guess it offered a rather bold and unique perfume profile for that period. Today, I still have a bottle from that year in my hand, and it has successfully withstood the test of time and reminded me once again of how special a composition it is. It has aged magnificently. The freshness that greets you when you first spray the perfume is directly reminiscent of a mojito cocktail: Mint, lemon and a light citrus breeze... However, the mint here, beyond creating a simple freshness, carries a natural liveliness that is far from artificial, reminiscent of freshly crushed mint leaves. The transitions between the notes are extremely smooth and harmonious; this takes the perfume beyond an ordinary summer scent. I don't know if it has matured after 14 years, it has a very nice sweetness. The most striking aspect of Armani Code Sport is its unique scent, which is not easily encountered at that time and even today. When compared to other fresh summer perfumes that can be included in its category, it is immediately noticeable how different it stands on a line. It is neither too sweet nor too aromatic; It has a completely balanced, original character. For this reason, the cessation of production of this perfume can be considered a serious loss for the perfume world. The fact that fashion houses act according to short-term trends unfortunately prevents such timeless scents from becoming permanent. However, Code Sport exhibits a much more refined and original stance than many modern summer scents today. It is almost a pioneer and harbinger of the summer collections that Jacques Cavallier, the creator of the perfume, later prepared for Louis Vuitton. The elegance, freshness and luxurious details felt in the DNA of Code Sport appear before us in a more refined form in the Les Colognes series that came later. However, this perfume has a much bolder and more masculine energy than the Louis Vuitton series. If you have a bottle of this rare piece in your hand, you are not only holding a perfume, but also a turning point. It is a perfect example to see both Jacques Cavallier's design evolution and to feel the quality summer perfume concept that is about to disappear.

Clean and Fresh... Armani Code Sport is a great smelling fragrance, and what I get is a nice composition of citrus, aquatic, and vetiver notes. While similar to other “sport” fragrances, Armani puts a more refined and distinguished touch to this release. As you may guess, the performance is a bit of a question mark, lasting maybe 4 hours on me and my clothing at very close projection. Not surprising for a citrus aquatic fragrance. But nonetheless, the fragrance smells great and is a crowd pleaser. I will add that in my (more mature – close to getting “old”) opinion, Code Sport maybe better suited for the younger audience, but I would pitch an occasional wear for the more mature crowd (myself included). And obviously, given the composition of notes, Code Sport is geared for warmer weather wear. I do like this fragrance and believe everyone should have a “sport” fragrance in their collection. All said, Armani Code Sport is a solid choice that will fill the need. Final tally is 4.2 stars out of 5 stars with a solid recommendation to purchase and “love” for the fragrance community. If you can get by the performance challenges, Code Sport smells great and will leave you feeling clean and fresh. Enjoy your day and happy fragrance hunting..

About two weeks ago I stumbled on a 1.5ml vial I had forgotten I had for years. One whiff and I rushed online searching for a bottle of this. To my dismay, it was out of stock at all the shops in the country that I could find on Google. How disappointed I was to learn that it had also been discontinued. Yesterday, I called my favourite fragrance shop (1400km away from me) and was told that they ordered 80 units which should be in the shipment that arrived the previous day. I breathed a sigh of relief and stayed on the line while the guy checked to see how many pieces arrived. ONE! A coffret (1x 50ml EDT and 2x 75ml Shower Gels). I wasted no time in placing an order for it. In the meantime, I'll continue sniffing my vial until my gift set arrives. This reminds me of my days as a cocktail bartender at a beautiful and busy beachside restaurant shaking up delectable cocktails after delightful cocktails on a hot summer day. I always found the smell of mint and mandarin oranges energising while working in the busy bar, and so do I find this fragrance. It makes me want to have a mandarin mojito after work.

Ok, I just got Hugo Boss Iced and from what I can tell the opening is almost exactly like Armani Code Sport. Maybe not as bright as Code Sport, but the scent is very familiar. That's the thing though, the opening of Code Sport isn't why I love it, it's that amazing dry down that last for hours is what is so captivating to me about Code Sport. I do have Under the Lemon Tree by Maison Margiela which I think has a dry down close to Code Sport. I'll report back later and update on how the dry down of Hugo Boss Iced as well as Under the Lemon Tree compare with Armani Code Sport. Update: Not even 2 hours later and the Hugo Iced is pretty much gone from my arm, and I sprayed it 4-5 times...It's hanging around on the shirt a bit, but all in all it's pretty much gone. Dammit! Under the Lemon Tree has dried down to its lemony-woodsy dry down that smells about 70% of Armani Code Sport. Man, you just can't replicate the real deal, but at least these two help pacify that need to smell Code Sport. The search continues for my new bottle.

I adore this cologne. I've had it for a couple years now, and even though people consider it ordinary, it's quite special to me. There's something special about that citrusy ginger burst. It reminds me of Sprite and Cola mixed together. It's fresh, pleasing, crisp, and it has excellent longevity and silage for a summer fragrance. Usually, you can't count on these Sport-type fragrances to last longer than an hour or so, but this lasts four to six hours on me, with decent three/four foot sillage. It's fresh, clean, and completely inoffensive. I've never received anything but compliments for wearing this scent. On my skin, there's also a bit of something extra special. Possibly from the mint/ginger combination, my skin creates a fresh cannabis note. When I wear this around my friends, they give me "the look," like "Eh, smoking the good stuff?". I love the smell of marijuana. The plant itself, unsmoked. That's what I get, on my skin. Beautiful, fresh, clean zingy herbal marijuana.

This feels like they took Armani Code, threw in a ton of mint and mixed it with Le Male. An invigorating blend of citrus, mint and ginger, this fragrance can be a real confidence boost especially first thing in the morning. No matter the time of year it shines in sunny weather for me. The more I pick apart the fragrance I swear I pick up other unlisted notes- lavender and leather for example. Anyway projection and longevity are not a problem on my skin. I get 10+ hours easily with 4 sprays. This is a nice scent for casual or office/business casual. Any age could wear this but I can see this one appealing to the younger collector on average. Bottom line: the OG is still the king for me. However I would rank this a close second and Ultimate in a somewhat distant 3rd. Colonia and Profumo are passes for me. Just my personal taste! SYL

I think the snobs are too hard on this one. This is a fine example of a fresh and sporty cologne. The opening is a cool and refreshing blast of mints and citrus. Oh man the opening is good stuff. After it settles it warms up a bit from the ginger but the mints hang around a couple hours before easing into a cool smolder of light and gingery powder. It somehow manages to be reminiscent of its inspiration but genuinely unique. The closest aspect about Sport to the original would be the powdery base. But Sport isn't a powder bomb like the original was in my opinion. Women seem to really enjoy this one quite a bit. Its easy to see why. Its a very sexy smell that isn't difficult to comprehend and has good projection. Longevity isn't anything special but isn't that bad. 3 or 4 sprays of this and you're set.

Usually I am very wary of "sport" scents, but this one is pretty good. I can't say the folks at Armani knocked it out the park, but this is fairly well blended and has an unusual amount of sophistication for, again, a "sport" scent. The stars of the show are citrus and mint, but it manages not to be linear. Well. Not too linear. The thing is this stuff carries with it a hefty pricetag. Of course you're paying for the name, which is sad. It's terrific but there are too many other comprable, even superior fragrances out there for a fraction of the cost. For that reason alone, it's tough to recommend this. But there are certain folks out there with lots of discretionary income who don't care about cost. So for those folks, you probably won't be disappointed.

At first I tried this and wasn't a huge fan of it, however after going through a couple of testers it soon grew on me. Strangely addictive scent, quite bright, fresh, and with a good hit of citrus.. also one of few fragrances i've tried that have fairly good longevity on my skin without being overpowering. Not my usual sort of fragrance, but a winner nonetheless. Edit: i'd go as far as to say that this fragrance has my idea of perfect longevity / projection. Usually if i go a spray on the chest, neck, wrist that will last me the better part of a whole day - you will intermittently get a pleasant waft of it. Projects well, without being overpowering like Paco Rabanne's One million for example.

I can't say that this flanker is greater than the original Code, but it's also great in its own way and they're almost equal for me (I do love Armani Code too!). Awesome combination of mint and lemon in this juice. Code Sport is much more versatile too than the original, I can even pull this one for date night or clubbing. Just be easy on the trigger, 2 to 3 sprays and I'm good to go. Longevity and projection works good for me too. Two thumbs way up for the perfumer (Jacques Cavallier) for creating this masterpiece! Armani Code Sport has always been a staple in my arsenal since it was released. 10/10

Sport Code is the type of fragrance that either you are going to like it or you are not going to like it. IMO its a great sport frag, perfect for the summer. Sport Code has great projection and it lasts 6 to 10 hours on my skin. Its not your average sport scent, very unique when compaired to the other sport fragrances out there. To get an idea of how it smells, grab a cup, add some ice, grab a Sprite and pour your self a cup. Just as the bubbles begin to go down place your face just above the cup and take a whiff. mmm REFRESHING!!! Like it or not thats what Sport Code smells like...... more or less..

Absolutely loved this one in high school. One of the few bottles of any fragrances that I actually finished. Reminds me of Maison Margiela's Under the Lemon Tree, and I have a friend who wore it a lot who agreed with that. So, if you want this vibe and don't want to pay these stupid discontinued prices, you can go that route. This was simple smelling, but in such a good way. It's kinda sharp, but in a pleasant and refreshing way. I bet they bring it back, and when they do, I'm getting a 4.2 oz so I can relive my teen years!

The scent is absolutely divine - to my nose a strong citrus with an emphasis on lemon, with mint base which is not strongly discernible unless you're looking for it. On my skin projection is average, but the longevity is very good, I put it on at ~7.30am and it lasts all the way through the day till 5.00+. I find the scent absolutely heavenly. It just smells gorgeous. For those wondering, the difference between Code Sport and Code Sport Athlete is that the lemon top note is even more pronounced on the Athlete.

I am OBSESSED with this atm. When I first bought this sample I wasn't initially "wow'd" by it. Well, months later I have just recently come back to it and try again and OMG this is truly amazing!! Isn't it strange how when you first initially try a fragrance you think one thing, usually not blown away, but you come back to it months later and it has transformed into this incredible masterpiece? That's how I feel about Code Sport right now.

If I had to pick one word to describe this cologne it would be "sharp". This bad boy hits hard and lasts very long. It's like a razor of citrus and mint. Very unique and powerful, but very fresh and good. Something that a young up-and-comer would wear. Or a man like the Transporter. My favorite cologne to wear with formal clothing and second favorite cologne period. If you are looking sharp and feeling sharp, you better be wearing this!

Got this as a present (expensive one!!) off my lady, I love it. Really really fresh, a nice big blast of mint and lemon which seems to last all day to me, with some ginger lurking around the corner suspiciously the whole time - lovely. Great for summer days and nights, let's hope for some sun (hint hint hint) (well I do live in Wales so...) Wouldn't say it's a 'sillage monster' but it's still very strong if someone gets quite close.

Could be a standalone frag. The creator of this frag makes all the Louis Vuitton Fragrances! And it shows!!! This is the most perfect frag i have ever smelled.. hands down. The freshest mint orange smell on the planet.. the water note in this is absolutely perfect. Gives a vibe of a clean barrel of cold fresh water with tons of mandarin orange peels and mint .. 99999999/10

One of the best fresh scents out there! unfortunately, discontinued. Bright mandarin notes, sparkling bergamot, fresh mint blast - or more like a continuous stream! cooling and soothing. 10/10 The closest Armani I've found in recent years is Profondo, its a more grown-up version of this as the distinct mandarin and mint notes are lacking / blended

Personally I love the smell of the perfume. It's definitely a light and fresh scent. However, this scent varies with different skins. For my skin it remains a fresh citrus like smell over tinme, but with other people for some reason they begin to smell like mint chewing gum. Definitely test it out before you buy it! Hope this helps!

i think this is one of the best sport fragrance in the market. more sporty but less classy than allure homme sport, this scent is long lasting on the skin, very fresh and invigorating. in my opinion it's over priced, if i have to find a bad point. the biggest bottle is only 75ml and costs very much. grazie. vote 8/10

Great everyday scent! It smells minty and refreshing. It's very casual, great for those hot days of summer. Projection and longevity are average, but it gets the job done. I like it! I just got into the whole fragrances thing as of recently and I enjoy this fragrance as well as the original Code. Though, I'm not sure how to distinguish what's a "good" scent to a "bad" one. On a side note, does anyone know how much it actually costs to make a perfume? $90 bucks a bottle is pretty hefty =(

Another winner for Armani. Code Sport smells so nice. Mandarine and mint are the most noticeable notes here. Fresh, sweet, and fruity, but it's also a warm/heavy scent. In a way one can think of this as Armani's entry into the candy/fruit genre of fragrances. But this one is very wearable and enjoyable.

This scent is very refreshing and also a joker. Hugely recommended for the summer, however, absurdly engaging for a hot night. Not like the traditional code, but this is a gem. Sillage: 10/10 Longevity: 9/10 Scent: 9/10, just do not give more points because they also love sweet scents. Overall: 9.5/10

this is an amazing fragrance the citrusy smell is the best citrus i have smelled way better than AHS or Versace I also love this perfume more than the original Armani code which i find too powdery Armani Code Sport is really really goood

My go to cologne for years. Love the way it uplifts my day. Been on the search for a dupe of armani sport.Finally found something that smells alike it's called lamis Creation secret passage spirit. Thank me later.

This is a great fragrance for the summerdays. it is very pleasent to smell not very overpowering. it lasts quiet long even if you are sweating and all. Nice minty smell to it, which makes it a must for summers.

not at all there is no plastic smell in this at all. it is a very pleasant citrus smell in the beginning however i did come across a fake Code Sport Athlete which had a disgusting smell of plastic

great fragrance, feel fresh and attractive. but depends on each person! should try them on your skin to have a better idea. however, worth to buy it. can use with casual or hanging out.

This is my favorite fragrance of all time. I know its not very popular but i have never in my life gotten so many compliments for this one. I cry every day that its discontinued.

It's all about the amazing, long-lasting dry down ! WOW ! only word for it out of all my fragrances this gets the most compliments, isn't my fave but is a real crowd pleaser.

Enjoy the mint opening, it's a strong scent. Good projection and longevity. Easy 6-8 hours on my skin. Armani are fast becoming the most consistent house for fragrances IMO.

I really hope they bring this gem back! Over the years of collecting fragrances this is by far the best I’ve found so sad it’s gone!

It's no special fragrance but a pleasant and intense (heavy) one. It lasts all day but the price is a bit steep though.
