Haute Couture en Jeu

The Privé collection is often a hit or miss for me. That being said, I find Haute Couture en Je deeply satisfying to wear around the house during the early mornings and early evenings. It's like a quiet conversation between confidence and calm. The spicy bitter green notes speak to me in a way that’s both invigorating and grounded. The basil, sharp and aromatic, hits first. It’s fresh, peppery, and alive, the way early morning air feels before the world fully wakes. What follows is this subtle interplay of spice and bitter greenery with crushed stems, cracked pepper, and a touch of resin that feels deliberate here rather than loud. It’s not a youthful burst of energy like I find in Frédéric Malle's Carnal Flower, but a steady pulse that feels refined and self-assured. I like that en Je doesn’t demand my attention because it simply fits. It reminds me that elegance doesn’t need to shout and that a spicy bitter floral freshness can still belong to a man who has lived a little. The basil and spice together feel like a reminder that I’m not trying to be younger. I’m just finally and fully comfortably in my own skin.

I popped in into Harrods fragrance hall to check out some perfumes and I randomly came across of this, knowing nothing about it that this is a new release. I smelled it because I liked the pretty bottle XD. The rose, genarium and basil really stands out, such lovely scent. Does it worth £600? Absolutely not!

In a nutshell , this juice does not match the bottle !! From package, name and notes i anticipated something feminine in rosey cozy territory like say delina .. but instead i got this unisex vegetal citrus scent , taken over by a burst of basil , bergamot (fresh organic salad mix) , geranium , cedar and a hint of rose resulting in a huge drift away from the cutesy pink floral presentation .. i get no iris or ambrette or musk .. EDIT: further to the final drydown , the rose comes up better and louder AND sharper .. this still is a cologney type of screechy rose rather than soft feminine .. it reminds me alot of l'occitane rose citron le meyer.. exept the rose there is overtaking the cistrus and its vice versa here , armani has much better performance though I prefer older private collection releases as the recent ones are kind of let down and so not worth the price

Store Test: Strong green opening with a mild bitter basil and a subtle sweet geranium, dries down into a sweeter but still green rose and geranium combo on a subtle musk base. Overall quite lovely, stands out from the other limited edition Armani releases as an actually good standalone fragrance. Obviously you’re still paying for a collectible, not ingredient quality or such, though they are pretty good.

Is it some kind of unidentifiable plastic smell, or maybe the scent of a leather sofa... I thought I was imagining it and re-sniffed it several times, but that peculiar smell is definitely there. It's a very chemical-like scent. The top notes have geranium and fruity rose, which are quite to my taste, though.
