Jasmin Kusamono

Clean as crystal, new white petals, the freshest spring water and the dew drops of early spring morning. Tender, beautiful, green, delicate and most delightful! This one is a jasmine which is purified and cleaned up of it's indolic insolence (although, personally, I prefer it less tamed and polite). Still fresh buds, not yet full bloomed; full of moisture and a sense of newness. The jasmine isn't as natural as some other uses found in the Giorgio Armani collections, yet it still comes across as realistic as a floral. I get it a lot in the opening, with a little spice with the pepper top note and a sweet green grass, bordering of jasmine tea note. Despite the name, predominantly, lily-of-the-valley is what actually pulls forward the most on my skin. The LOV in this is youthful and very green; a lovely rendition that mixes with the sweetness of the pear. It reminds me of the new Diorissimo in some ways. The fresh and clean aura of this fragrance carries on all the way through to the dry down, even going a teeny-tiny bit little soap bubbles on me. It stays very floral and very green, but at all times fresh and pure. It also lasts ages on my skin and my clothes. I would love a full bottle of this one.

I never in my life smelled a more refreshing jasmin scent. It is so moist and watery smelling. I love it so so much. mind u I don't usually stand white floral scents on their own or as a prominent heavy notes in Perfumes I love the scent of white flowers when they are on the tree or Bush because it is diffused in the air so it is naturally ozonic because I smell it in much lower concentration. In the Perfumes they smell cloyingly sweet and heavily animalic. But this here is an exception . this perfume although the main accord in it is white floral, it is very different.. the reason is that right after white florals the next accord is aquatic. So it is fresh, not cloying Or too animalic. I love it. The cap is of a dark color and didn't make the bottle feel feminine to my liking so I splashed some nail polish colours on it randomly and swished them around. and now its so unique

Very nice, translucent white floral! I’m normally not a fan of watery frags. They transport me to the 90’s when I overdid it. But I think the watery feel works nicely here. It cuts the sweetness of the pear & LOTV. I think this dillution allows the jasmine, which could have easily been overshadowed by the LOTV, to shine through. GORGEOUS. After applying, I feel like I’m wearing a super fresh, pure jasmine sambac (no indole here.) Note: it is still pretty sweet, which is where its charm lies. Solid performance for an EDT. It reminds me of the jasmine in Amouage portrayal. (Not a dupe by any means, but a similar white floral feel.) I haven’t pulled the trigger, but I might get a decant & see where it goes.

The first time I smelled this perfume, it smelled like pure human poop. After reading all the reviews saying that it was not indolic, I got straight poo. But then I smelled it every day for A few days, and every day it got less poopy. Now, it's the freshest most realistic Jasmine I've ever smelled. Isn't it funny how the brain works? It's bright, but not sharp like j'adore. Sweet, but not candied like Alien. Smooth, but not rubbery like Bloom. (Not that I don't love a rubbery Jasmine.) Basically it's the best jasmine. I can't imagine it getting any better than this.

Incredibly underrated fragrance and line. Everything i have smelt from the aramni prive line comes off natural.. when i return to my other run of the mill designer scents, it becomes more and more obvious how fly-spray-ish they can smell...The longevity and sillage on this thing is absolutely beastly on myself and my partner.Juicy Nashi Pear is mouth watering and does that thing where it pops into your head randomly one fine day. Highly recommended and cant believe people arent talking about it more.. crazy!

I’ve been searching for a fresh and realistic jasmine scent, and this is the best I’ve found as of yet! It smells natural and pleasant, without the heavy, indolic notes that I don't personally enjoy as much. The realism is what makes this fragrance stand out from the many other jasmines. It’s very light and airy and reminds of springtime breeze in California, with surprisingly good projection for a white floral. The only downside is that it doesn’t last very long.

A very beautiful jasmine scent, truly sophisticated and with a good performance. The jasmine in this is slightly bitter, quite natural smelling and definitely dominates the whole composition. The scent is almost pure jasmine at first, followed by sweeter notes, a slight hint of Lily of the valley and then some woods. Being a fan of floral scents, this to me is definitely gorgeous!

Finally a perfume with clean jasmine! Bought several white floral perfume blind, till here at the forum someone mentioned this Armani prive as a pure jasmine. Finally put my hand on one, and can’t be happier! Amazing clean scent. I could wear this all year long. Seems last long too (so far 4+ hours and husband just mentioned I smell nice 😍) I wish will be cheaper

This is the perfect jasmine scent for me - light, airy, delicate, fresh. The lily of the valley compliments the jasmin so nicely and gives it a green, even slightly zesty vibe. But for the price tag I would have hoped for better longevity and sillage. Still, it is simply stunningly beautiful and makes me so happy.

Ooh, this is so so nice on my skin. Pure jasmin nectar. Not indolic at all. Smells high class, quality and clean. I find it a bit sexy allso. Not in a vampy way but polished and clean sexy ☺️. My husband loves this on me as well. Impressive lasting power and sillage. Easy reach fragrance.

Very pretty jasmine sambac that smells effortless and elegant. Just bought a full bottle for the summer. "Pretty" is the word that comes to mind and accurately describes this timeless scent. Can't pick up on the green or zesty notes others have mentioned.

Green and not sweet. Pure smelling flowers with nothing cloying or distracting here. Perfect for Spring! Simple and elegant.

Kusamono in Japanese translates literally as ‘grass’ (kusa 草) ‘thing’(mono物). Generally, it is meant in the context of bonsai art referring to small arrangements of grasses that reflect the natural landscape of the seasons in the same was as tree bonsai do. Frequently it is presented as an adjunct to tree bonsai rather than on its own, where it is used to enhance the expression of wabi-sabi or mono no aware. One might expect that Jasmin Kusamono would be a grassy jasmine fragrance. In actuality this is not the case and the website indicates that something has probably been lost in translation when they incorrectly assert that “Jasmin Kusamono is the expression of Giorgio Armani's love for floral art and Kusamono, a Japanese floral composition technique inspired by the ancient art of bonsai.” Technically they are talking about hanamono, although really a more widely practiced floral art in Japan would be kado or ikebana. So far on the Asian cultural insensitivity scale, I am rating this a 3 out of 5. Cultural misappropriation aside, this is a nice fragrance. It smells like an extravagant floral arrangement that has just been delivered from an expensive boutique florist. It doesn’t have the intensity of scent you’d get from sticking your face in the bouquet, and is more like floral wafts you catch in passing. It smells like standing in the living room of a rich friend’s Balmoral water-vista home (Sydney, not Scotland) on a bright Spring morning when a light breeze circulates the aroma of an oversized floral centrepiece around the living room. The opening is slightly fruitier, although not in a sweet fruity way as nashi pear, the listed top note, is lighter, crispier, and often less sweet than Western pears. Already there is a watery feeling, which is more like fresh water in the flowers rather than a salty sea breeze. The nashi is a nice choice here because its bland juiciness complements the aquatic quality of the fragrance. The body of the fragrance is then a relatively realistic impression of jasmine and lily-of-the-valley in equal parts. The floral hasn’t been glammed up with anything powdery, musky, sweet, or oud-y. Equally it isn’t too green. It smells green in terms of freshness, but not green as a specific accord. Much later, after the aquatic feeling has dissipated and the flowers have become bit more creamy and established, there is a light woody base, which smells academically correct. I probably rate the aquatic feeling of freshness most in this fragrance. Similar to Alien, another fragrance by Dominique Ropion, it is not so much about the smell itself but the spacious, expansive feeling of the scent, which here gives a watery impression, that I enjoy. Because of this, I will say that the ‘attitude’ of the fragrance is somewhat Japanese, being clean, minimalistic, and moderately unobtrusive (although the projection is not bad). The lack of opacity in the floral is nice and it is transparent without feeling thin. I amend the Asian cultural insensitivity rating to a 2 out of 5. Aquatic florals tend to lack the clout to be touted as ‘mind blowing’ fragrances. However, it does feel airy, pleasant, nonchalantly expensive. It is a little bit pricey – potentially you could get a similar kind of fresh floral fragrance for cheaper – but I think part of the experience is the finessed hand of the perfumer; it has been sculpted intentionally but only where it needs to be and it respects the impression of the source material, retaining an authentic freshness without being too sweet or synthetic. Probably not a magnum opus, but a highly competent piece of work that will reliably perform as intended.

Jasmin Kusamano is a very nice and fresh jasmine scent, but it isn't the most naturalistic jasmine perfume I have ever smelt and I have smelt much better for much less than what this perfume is going for at full price. I feel like I'm missing most of the indolic and sweet nuances I get from jasmine that I just adore. This is like a jasmine that has been neutered and had all of the funk taken out, which is everything that I love about jasmine. I'm not too keen on the spicy pink pepper in the top notes or the slightly heavy cedar wood in the base notes either. I feel like it takes away a bit from the white floral qualities of this fragrance and makes it a bit more of this earth instead of an angelic floral that flies through the horizons. The lily of the valley rectifies this somewhat though. I'd recommend this perfume for both spring and summer and for the day time. I'd call it a feminine perfume too, which is more in my wheel house in that sense. I got moderate projection on my skin and a wear time of about 5 hours. I'd say it is slightly overpriced for what you're getting. I'd give Jasmin Kusamano a 7.3/10 in total. It's nice, but not full-bottle worthy and I think that Vert Malachite is a way better fragrance from this same collection of perfumes.

This is a beautiful fragrance - very well blended, very fresh, slightly green, and slightly sharp. You can tell that this is a Ropion creation because it is just so masterfully done and it smells like a very high-quality fragrance. If you love white florals like me, this would fit perfectly into your collection. This is no run-of-the-mill white floral that is so often seen in designer and niche perfumery - this is beautiful and unique in its own right. I also own Dior Pure Poison and Maison Christian Dior Lucky, and they smell nothing like this. This is of much higher quality than Pure Poison and is a lot fresher, more white floral, more watery, and less powdery. From this fragrance, I get notes of a salty marine accord in the opening, with a dash of nashi pear, that quickly blends into a realistic and bright jasmine with lots of lily of the valley. In the dry down, I get a lot of white musks. For me, this fragrance really stands out on a breezy spring evening. This lasts about 5 hours on my skin and about 2 days on clothes and hair.

Jasmin Kusamono is the epitome of a fresh and clean jasmine-forward scent. Initially it opens very fresh and fruity from the Nashi Pear, with a sharp kick from the pink pepper. However, within seconds you’re greeted by a powerful and dominant jasmine note which is thick and soapy. The heart is comprised of a trio of classic white florals - lily of the valley, orange blossom and most importantly jasmine which takes the forefront. These rest on a creamy, musky base of sandalwood to give it some lasting power. This isn’t necessarily a complex scent, however it’s a fantastic option for lovers of jasmine and has surprisingly good longevity for a fragrance as fresh as this. Jasmine has been my mother’s favourite smell for all of her life and so this scent will be a gift to her, so that she can smell it wherever she goes.

A very clean, natural-smelling, prim and luminous jasmine. It feels almost like the petals of the jasmine flower are glistening with dew. There isn't that jasmine+honey combination that a lot of brands default to (nothing wrong with it), but this one is naturally sweet, pretty, and a very clean, almost green-jasmine. Recommend if you need a jasmine more suitable for work or more formal, less indolic occasions. Edit: Tried this at work today, and I found the drydown at the end of a work day not my style. To me this is an "earthy" Jasmin forward perfume. It's not the effervescent, bright white floral with sweetness I usually prefer. It is still very lovely to me. The florals are blended so well & I find the woody cedar base very nice. I detect just a hint of pepper maybe. The Nashi Pear is there with I think stem, peel, seeds, leaves, all adding to the earthiness. The pear nectar does add a bit of sweetness too though. I would wear this all year no matter the season. Moderate projection & lasts about 4-5 hrs on me. Thank you Dominique Ropion...she's a beautiful creation! 💚

This is a fresh greenish jasmine orange blossom aquatic fragrance that works well in summer. There is a fruitiness in the beginning that fades pretty quickly for me. The white florals are not at all indolic, not particularly sweet, just fresh and a bit sharp. Reminds me of gardenia. After a couple hours, it settles into a less sharp white floral and here I detect a slight warmth, probably from the sandalwood. It's because of this development that I enjoy this perfume. Projection is not strong but I'm ok with overspraying.

I was gifted a sample of this years ago. On paper it smelled fresh, floral, slightly grandma's house. It's been on my skin for a few hours now and it's mellowed out into a lovely grassy garden scent. Very Jane Austen protagonist walking through the grounds of a large estate at dawn. I typically go for earthy/musky scents, and I like the balance of earthy with juicy floral here. I wouldn't shell out $200 for 100ml personally, but I'd love a smaller bottle.

Pretty jasmine, and the Japanese pear gives an aquatic feeling. Normally I don’t like aquatic florals, but here it doesn’t bother me as much. Jasmine is the main player. Actually, the pear gives a more juicy feel to the jasmine over time, and when I get whiffs of this scent from time to time, it’s delicately beautiful. I love it.

This is so pretty! Already opens very floral with a sweet, juicy, fresh, fruity touch and after some minutes, it’s just this lush, clean jasmine. So feminine and classy! One of the best jasmines i’ve ever smelled. Projects really well too. This is a must try for white floral lovers!

It's good, but not as good as Diptyque's Do Son. Just stick with Diptyque's Do Son if you want a true and best jasmine scent out there. I like Jasmin Kusamomo, but considering that there are better jasmine fragrances out there, I'll pass.

This is super lovely but to my nose it smells just like Elegantly Tokio from Zara which I already have.

I like this but it’s not so unique for the price and it doesn’t last long.

The jasmine is lovely, but there are quite surprisingly dominant aquatic marine notes and a lot of orchard fruit. It leans a little young, girly rather than womanly. The drydown is all green aquatic saltiness. If you are looking for a young, clean, fresh and distinctly marine white floral for spring and summer then you might like this. It's something I would have worn when I was around 18-20, suntanning and swimming in the hot mediterranean sea. Buy it for your daughter.

Nashi pear is about all I really smell from the beginning to the end. While its a fruit I love, smelling it on me for several hours isn’t my kind of enjoyment. Got to find some perfume to layer this with and make it pleasant.

Jasmin Kusamono by Giorgio Armani presents a luminous, fresh, crystalline jasmine. Among the fragrances in the Prive line, it stands out as one that closely embodies the subtle and nuanced style of Giorgio Armani as a fashion designer. The bottle's design is undeniably beautiful, featuring a classic glass squared design with a cap resembling the shape of a stone. However, despite the meticulous design, the execution falls short in terms of quality. While the composition of notes is commendable, the fragrance itself doesn't meet expected standards of quality. Similarly, the bottle's quality leaves much to be desired. Given its price range, one might expect the glass to have a more substantial feel, and the stone-shaped cap to be crafted from a material that is both aesthetically and tactilely pleasing.

Top notes: fresh, a really strong jasmine, wet like bitterness to it, powdery notes middle notes: a bit stinky from the jasmine, still fresh and powdery base notes: still jasmine but abit more fresh now this jasmine is stinky honestly. it was good in the end.do test before you buy. 6/10

Oh dear... How do I even start? I was so impressed by Thé Yulong that I decided to check out other interesting scents in the Prive Les Eaux line. Jasmin Kusamono was one of these, as I notice it had nashi pear notes. This fragrance was supposed to be a fresh and clean jasmine, beautiful and elegant. The nashi pear should have added a sprinkle of wetness to the flower. Think of spotting jasmine blooms during your morning walk in the garden- still with dew drops on the petals... But that's not what I got. Instead my nose translates the aquatic quality as damp, stale, and musty garden clippings... Unfortunately, I did have a headache when I sprayed this on my wrist :( But thankfully it went away when I sniffed a different perfume. I tried testing it a few more times but couldn't stand it, so I decided to give it to my grandmother- who loved it! She describes Jasmin Kusamono as a fresh and beautiful jasmine scent. So, it seems its a 'love it or hate it' perfume. On another note, I was impressed that the nashi pear was realistic (at least when I smelt it on the atomizer). This scent has a moderate projection and lasts quite long. Could smell it on my grandma for hours during a couple of house parties... :')

Dior Lucky is at the top of the list of similar fragrances, but I don't think they are similar at all. This scent reminds me of laundry detergent. It is a strong synthetic scent that gives me a headache.

My first venture into the Armani private line, yay! I got 6 frags of theirs to test so here is my 1st review on the line. In short, this is a really beautiful fragrance, where old meets the new generation. It has an older woman generation fragrance scent to it, but this Asian pear note is sooooo realistic, and so rare to have it in an accessable fragrance, that it does youthen the older scent dna of this frag's base. It might because Jasmine is a older traditional note that it dates the fragrance. There is also a sour/zesty lime citrus note in this that is not added to the note pyramid, that brightens the dna and hits the back of the nose when whiffing. I quiet like that as it cuts through the richness of the floral note. It MIGHT be a Green Apple note added with the Asian Pear note? As a straight guy that's focused on discovering modern excitingly innovative frags, i do find the Jasmin in this to be quality and done beautifully, which id say is the leading role player in this frag's dna. And it makes the frag lean heavily toward the feminine side. Traditional guys would absolutely not wear this, but an open-minded guy of this generation or part of the gay community could 100% wear this. I'll be kinda honest with you, this would be an AMAZING fragrance to smell off a gay man!! And that's a huge complement coming from a straight guy hahaaha :D Seriously, if you're gay, get this frag, it will make you smell truly beautiful and refreshing! Refreshing i say, because the base is a aquatic marine note, that is a 'salty sea'/'cheap 80's shampoo' scent to it. The white florals are not cloying over time, which is an accomplishment to the perfumer, and almost has a slight creaminess to it - im starting to pick up the note of creamy frangipani tbh. :S This frag so far into the heart/mid is still smelling the same as the opening, with maybe the citrus burning off and being slightly more tamed. So im going to say this is a linear fragrance - what you smell in the opening is what you get in the end dryoff. This is not a 'love at first sniff' for me, but as i sit here sniffing, and now that i understand the notes and my brain is picking out the individual notes, im not only starting to appreciate it, but leaning toward really liking it. Hmmm, im starting to think this fragrance has went under the radar, probably because it's not innovative enough, but there is something so beautiful and lovely about it, it's making me wonder if i should full-bottle buy this for my mini-collection if i can get it at a massive sale. It doesn't project that much, but if someone comes close to you they will smell you like a traditional 80's perfume would. 100% signature scent worthy! So far im authentically 'liking' it, but not obsessively in love, and it might be because of that cheap 80's shampoo synthetic note that im picking up. :/ Some people below me have commented that the note is also headache inducing, and constant sniffing could do that to you, which is another reason why i don't like that note and kinda ruins the frag for me. But i will say near the bottom dryoff, it's mellowing, and i ask myself, if i smelt this on a neck of a woman after a lovely night out, how would i feel about smelling this off of her? I have to be honest, it's actually effortlessly really sexy. Im really on the fence about this fragrance for me to wear myself as a straight man, it's beautiful though. 3.5/5 Woofs!

I’ve never been wowed by tea forward fragrances, I mean I like them occasionally but ehh. Then I smelled this & it took the wow right out of my mouth. This is a darker more refined version of Elizabeth Arden‘s Green Tea. If you like GT then there’s a high probability you’ll love this. It’s an absolutely stunning tea fragrance. This is an edt but I got a good 6-8 hours out of this beauty in mildly cool weather. I imagine this will shine when it’s much warmer outside. This may be the only time a tea fragrance could move my usual summer beach scents to the back shelf. I may need to spend the summer test driving it, lol ;-) Edit: it finally hit me -its smells similar to Pure Poison....but better! As if the PP married GT & had a child that grew up to become a mega star. Edit: I’m not going to retract everything I said about it smelling similar to EA Green Tea. However, this smells like a more refined version of Pure Poison all the way. If you’re into that I’d go with this even though this is an EDT this sucker last like the energizer bunny.

The first 15 mins of opening is sparkling lily of valley and a little bit of Jasmine, 90% identical to the latest reformulated version of Diorissimo. Quite heavenly! With a fairly good projection for a EDT. When it hits 30-45 mins mark, the sweetness of pear becomes prominent while the beautiful opening still lingers. Around 90 mins mark, the reviewer below me has nailed it, it turns into a tea scented lotion with ressemblance of EA Green Tea. Around 2 hour mark, I am unable to detect anything. I don’t mind about the longevity, I might not only want to be committed to one fragrance all day long. Jasmin Kusamono is very pleasant and enjoyable, made with high quality materials, since I already have Diorissimo and the price is quite high for a cologne, I would happily stick with my Diorissimo, or if I could find a used bottle at a reasonable price, I would pick up a bottle.

This watery green floral entry comes from a historical line of Patou Makila 1961 made famous as the perfume Holly Golightly sprayed at Breakfast at Tiffanys. Bourbon french perfumes has a similar or mother to this in Flowers of Paradise. This is the 2021 version of the green watery floral. Dior Lucky is a cohort of this group. Ropions skill is the harmonious watery floral transparency he captures in the opening lily of the valley and a light jasmine nuance. Reflexion from amouage also belongs in this genre. Its not as clear as the ones mentioned. This is a soft focus effect on the composition. This is perfect for spring. Do check it out if you can. Watery florals are quite rare indeed.

Jasmin Kusamono, from the Armani Privé collection, by Giorgio Armani, smells like jasmine flowers with a side of Lily-Of-The-Valley and aquatic notes. The aquatic notes in this perfume makes me dislike it. It makes me interpret the scent as moldy and as a jasmine flower forgotten in water. I prefer a jasmine scent that is more focused on jasmine's flower nectar. My 5€ jasmine hand soap smells better, to me, than this 200€ perfume. My hand soap smells more refined, more expensive than Jasmin Kusamono. Therefore, I can't appreciate this perfume at the moment.

Blind bought after watching and reading reviews describing realistic jasmine and green flowers. Instead, all I'm picking up are strong, Yardley-esque lily of the valley notes. You know that almost screeching synthetic white floral, musky aura that is an instant headache inducer? Like a cheap room spray. No pear, no sandalwood, no jasmine. Going to let it settle for a week and try again - refuse to believe a Dominique Ropion creation could smell this basic and screechy (especially at this price point).

It smells like freshly washed laundry drying in a garden full of flowers. Imagine the scent of clean linen blending with blooming florals, while the pear is somewhere in the neighbor's garden - you know it's there, but you barely notice it. It's not a bad fragrance at all; I just don't think it's worth the price. That said, if you love jasmine and fresh, clean scents, this one might be right up your alley.

While looking for a simple, pure jasmine scent I was hesitating between this one and Chloe Atelier des Fleurs. I’m glad I went with Chloe, as that one is jasmine in its purest form. Armani is heavy on Lilly of the valley, so something to keep in mind when you’re deciding. It’s a nice, well balanced white floral - I wouldn’t say it’s jasmine centric though.

Tried this as a male. This scent is essentially a more feminine version of The Yulong. Once the tartness of the Nashi Pear fades, you are greeted with this lovely sweet flowery scent that is not too overpowering. But where this scent really shines is it's dry-down, the sandalwood is such a nice ending to this relatively floral tea-like scent.

Fresh, watery jasmine with pear and some green ?tea notes. I don't get much pepper. I guess the Lily of the valley is there in the freshness. Very transparent and clean. Office friendly. A clean and pretty watery floral. The cedar is not too strong on my skin. I would buy it if it were cheaper, it is grossly overpriced for what it is.

The fresh white floral reminds me of Ave Maria by House of Bo, but in an abstract way. Both have the dewy factor. It's a little green and sweet, but not very strong. I like it. It gets warmer and sweeter as it dries down. It's pleasant but the smell will never justify the price
