Eau de Givenchy (2018)

Wore this to bed last night, and had to upgrade my like to a love. Eau de Givenchy is fresh, dreamy citrus neroli with a whisper of white florals and understated, cottony musk. It's gauzy and bright, yet soft around the edges. It's the perfect soothing bedtime scent, and a relaxing way to wake up in the morning. It is surprisingly long lasting for something so sheer. I put it on a few hours before bedtime, and it's still present in the morning. There's not a lot of projection, but I can smell it on myself and get wafts of it throughout its wear. Also worth mentioning: the sprayer and the mist for this perfume is INCREDIBLE. The mist is so marvelously fine that it almost seems like it comes out in slow-motion; like an angel exhaling clouds onto my skin. Is it the sprayer that's working this magic? Something about the juice itself? I have no idea, but it's so mesmerizing it makes me want to spray it just for the fun of it.

This is exceptional. A truly joyous fragrance. I haven't worn a silk shirt since I was nine [Why, Mum and Dad?!]...but this feels like one of those - cool, classy, and so comfortable in a barely-there kind of way. I could hardly smell it last week (but could other denser fragrance) - which might've been a cold or even the dreaded Covid - but that's the beauty of this, it's so deliciously light and floaty! Closer inspection does reveal a few differences with TF Neroli Portofino (which was my closest comparison). It's a shade greener and more white-muskier, and it's also a lot longer lasting. It isn't as sweet or lush though - the neroli is fully present here but it appears drier and flatter without as much orange blossom to fill it out. Neroli Portofino is more sumptuous and juicy. But...this is cheap as chips, so I'll stick with this and an ice-cream, and pocket the £200 difference.

Simply beautiful. Hardly breaking new ground but Demanchy comes up absolute trumps with this one and in the process makes TF Neroli Portofino utterly redundant, which is a great thing in my book. As someone else mentioned, it is a shade greener and less sweet (from more neroli and less orange flower), but the overall vibe is near as dammit the same, and the longevity is much improved. So is the price. Bye bye Tom. Perfectly unisex with typical summer eau de cologne type performance, but at £37 for 100ml on the grey market you can just go nuts and spray, spray, spray! (Incidentally, I have no experience of the original so cannot compare it, and nor do not mourn its loss. I'm sure many of the dislikes are skewed from such comparisons. I wonder how this would have been rated it if it had a different name?) Pretend this is a new fragrance and you might find you like it.

I don't get the more feminine leaning vibe that alot of reviews are stating over here. Maybe it's because there are different formulations already of the 2018 Eau de Givenchy. Mine is an earlier bottle. It leans totally unisex in the opening but turns really fresh and into a very fresh leafy green neroli scent that goes more masculine towards the drydown. Projection is above average for the first 1 or 2 hours. Longevity is really good for a fresh citrus/neroli scent. So with a decent amount of sprays it will easily last you all workday and well into dinnertime so 8 to 10 hours is quite good imho. The ingredients used are quality ingredients because the orange blossom and neroli notes are very realistic as if you ripped the leaves and rub them between your hands. If you like a dry and green long lasting quality neroli scent then this is recommendable.

This is truly a lovely spin on the "classic" eau de cologne DNA, a la 4711, Neroli Portofino, and Cologne Indelebile. Of those, I think Eau de Givenchy is the best, next to the Frederic Malle, which is much more expensive of course. Anyways, Eau de Givenchy is a wonderfully bright, fresh, and green fragrance with prominent notes of neroli, petitgrain, citruses and white musk. This is an example of perfumery that is so delightful in its simplicity. While plenty of fragrances excite in their abstractions, Eau de Givenchy presents the opposite; a very simplistic take on smelling good, and it works! The fragrance is certainly unisex, I could see anyone pulling this one off in the right setting. I'd recommend this only for the summer months, and only for those who love the note of neroli (as it is quite prominent in the blend).

I bought it to replace Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. While this one does not have the same opening, it gets there 10-15 minutes later. It is greener than Neroli Portofino but I like it. You smell neroli, orange blossom and green notes mostly, all other notes are less pronounced. It develops into stromger neroli eventually and dies down to vetiver and musk eventually. Surprisingly good performance and projection (compared to most Gevenchy frags), great summer choice for men and women. Some compare it to Bright Neroli by Ferrari, yes, it has some similarities but to me this one is of a much higher quality and complexity. Try it!

I blind bought this fragrance last year based purely on the notes and the reviews and omg I fell in love with it the second I took a whiff. Whenever I spray it on me I just cannot stop smiling for some reason, it just lifts my mood instantly. I’d say it’s a very fresh green scent with just enough sweetness. I think the neroli in it is very playful and attributes greatly to the just enough sweetness factor. The longevity of this fragrance is absolutely great too, I spray it in the morning and it stays with me all the way into the night. Just love love love.

This is so wonderful. Neroli based scent for perfect summer days. Very well executed, you can smell the quality. Just slightly old fashioned but everyone seems to love it, I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear this. Bottle got updated recently, I believe the formula stays the same. Closer to Frederic Malle/Dominique Ropion’s Cologne Indélébile than Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Sprayer is fantastic, the best I have ever seen. It creates the perfect mist. You can find it quite cheap online so get it before it is too late.

Soooo beautiful. My daughters say it reminds them of sweet pea flowers in the garden. Just beautiful. So happy with this blind buy. The packaging is understated elegance. Pure white box with no distractions. The bottle is like a vintage precious medicine. Concave bottom with no engraving or barcodes. Just a simple label on the side and white cap with logo. It’s as if no marketing or explanation was required. The fragrance sells itself for how good it is. I cannot wait to get the Rose version.

This is summer. Neroli, citrus, fresh, clean and pure. This is a cool breeze on a hot day. A drink of iced water with lemon whilst in the shade an orange grove. This is perfection - but like summer, not long lasting but perfection whilst it lasts. Update. Whilst this is delightful, it is almost more of an experience rather than a fragrance that will stay. Even the spray is so fine and light as to need 10+ You could apply this hourly and not offend anyone!

There wasn't a lot of info online about this one. I couldn't find any place to buy a decant so I went ahead and did a blind buy. No regrets at all. This a great neroli fragrance. Smells so fresh and clean. If you are into Polo Earth, Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli, Banana Republic Neroli Woods, Mugler Cologne, JV Artisan Pure, 4711, ect... then you will love this one. High quality at a decent price. Its Neroli so don't expect monster performance.

This has been my favorite neroli fragrance yet. Though I’m also fond of FM Indebile, the Givenchy is fresh and a bit less sweet. It is also a decent value. I’ve tried 4711 (too weak, but great scent!) and Neroli Woods from BR (don’t care for the wood note). TF is over priced and skews sunscreen on me. Chopard has a great option that is also relatively affordable, but from all this neroli testing, I’m going to stick with the Givenchy.

This is neroli done right. An excellent scent that is very underated. No one is talking about it but I'm gonna buy a bottle for the next summer. Is perfectly blended by the master Demachy. Has musk in the base to give it more substance and Petit grain to put some greeness on it. 5* for a neroli scent. I prefer this over Neroli Portofino, believe it or not.

Very beautiful, green, spring, neroli fragrance. Really similar to Chanel No 19 Poudre, which I also have. Unfortunately, too similar - I don't see a need to own both, trading it or returning it. A safe blind buy for a fresh scent. Decent sillage, moderate longevity, maybe 3 hours, fine for an EDT!

Very fresh, green at the beginning, heart is full of neroli but overall this is very subtle, airy and light cologne. Maybe nothing new to the game but certainly for Givenchy. Very good perfume ! It doesn't smell cheap and synthetic, it is the same quality like Gentleman eau de parfum.

Very nice summer fragrance. Ideal for hot days. Strong Neroli and Orange Blossom but not too strong. In the Summer I use Aqua di Parma Essenza, but this fragrance fills the cap for really hot days. Reminds me of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, but indeed for much better price.

That's a nice and high quality fragrance, but it's almost a full copy of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Neroli with musks. Eau de Givenchy costs 4 times cheaper than Tom Ford, so that's a very good offer for Neroli Portofino lovers. Smells classy, clean, beautiful.

This is pure jasmine and neroli and some slight rubbery hint. Amazing stuff !! Yes its a bit similar to 4711 original cologne, but its more closer to the 4711 "Jasmine" flanker than the original. Leans more feminine.

Fresh, well balanced, amazing scent. I can wear anytime and anywere. For me reminds me Tartine et chocolat, from Petitsebon and distributed by Givenchy, but in a stronger version.

Love it, cheap, pretty good performance and clean/neroli/fresh laundry smell. If you like neroli, try this out. Nothing extraordinary but perfect in simplicity.

The 2018 version of Eau de Givenchy is a quite straightforward eau de cologne on my skin, with a slightly more pronounced feminine touch of tender floral and cottony musk. The first 3 hours of Eau de Givenchy is dominated by the refreshingly bitter green petit grain and its more floral cousin, the verdant neroli. The orange blossom provides a suave, faintly indolic backdrop, while the various citrus fruits only briefly offer a few glimpses at the very first moment. With Eau de Givenchy focusing more on the petit grain-neroli-orange blossom trio instead of sparkling citrus fruits or Mediterranean aromatic herbs, the fragrance leans more traditionally feminine to my nose. Its focus on neroli and its cousins also reminds me of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino and Frederic Malle Cologne Indélébile. However, while they're interchangeable to a certain extent, Eau de Givenchy differs more significantly in the dry down, with its more substantial, cotton-y yet slightly metallic musk adding more heft and rendering it more opaque comparing to the sharper, leaner, soapier and somewhat more "robotic" Neroli Portofino, or the more refined and traditional Cologne Indélébile. Although I haven't yet compared them side by side, the prominently musky dry down of Eau de Givenchy is reminiscent of that of Byredo Blanche's to my nose, more than other eau de cologne-type of fragrances. The sillage of Eau de Givenchy is moderate to soft, while the longevity is at least 8 hours on me. As I haven't yet had the opportunity to smell the original Eau de Givenchy, I don't have any direct comparison to offer. But there's no doubt that this brand new version of Eau de Givenchy smells like a product conceived to fit and made in our modern era, rather than one trying to convey vintage characteristics. Without prior knowledge of the original version, I find this 2018's Eau de Givenchy an adequate eau de cologne-style fragrance, centred around green neroli and vaporous, clean white musk, and marginally more feminine than most colognes. Although arguably less polished and less nuanced than many neroli-white musk fragrances put out by well-known niche brands, the price and the accessibility of Eau de Givenchy nevertheless put it at a relative advantage. I'd recommend it as a gateway clean neroli-white musk perfume from mainstream designer brands.

So pretty, airy, and fresh--Eau de Givenchy is a truly unisex scent, with its sharp but clean citrus opening and its watery aromatic, vaguely woody drydown. It's all exquisitely well-blended, like most Givenchy scents I have encountered, but I think I pick up a little lavender amid the petitgrain and orange blossom-neroli in the mix. I don't usually gravitate to unisex scents, but this is one that smells like clean laundry in the South of France; it might be my imagination, but mixed in with the lavender there's a bit of that medicinal camphor/clove "bandaid" accord that I associate with certain classic French fragrances (especially the house of Guerlain). Overall, though, this is just a classic French citrus, with subtle chypre and wood in the base. I have a very teensy sample bottle, but I might buy a bigger one if the price is right. Until then, on that sad day when I run out, I have other, less expensive options for those rare days when I want to smell a lot more outdoorsy than I actually am.

Develops impressively slowly for a cologne-style-scent (which is quite a technical achievement from the point of view of perfumery). Given the established nature of this scent profile don’t think I need to describe to most people what this smells like fundamentally, but it’s a slightly greener take initially, and it settles well into the familiar, neroli-orange blossom-musk accord which is airy & radiant, slightly honeyed and pleasantly soapy. The best comparison is indeed Frederic Malle/Dominique Ropion’s Cologne Indélébile, though this has substantially less staying power (due to less musk in the base), the added green notes and a slightly less prominent orange blossom note. Lovely though - even though it’s a variation on familiar themes, it’s a beautifully executed one.

I'm sorry to say that (because I had high hopes for this creation) but this fragrance has no character, no identity at all. This is a simple Neroli fragrance. Smells nice but feels like I've smelled it in a million times and there's no characteristic feature which would make it different to all the others. Definitely not worth do buy. Rather go with 4711 or Ferrari Bright Neroli. Or Dior's Escale a Portofino which has more character than this.

On the blotter it's ultra citrussy, freshy - i love it! Gave it a try on my wrist. On my skin it turns from lemons to the green florals and some unpleasent scent comes through... longevity - 2/3 hours after 30mins scent sits really close to the skin... You should definatelly try it on your skin before buying a bottle, to me unfortunatelly it was such a dissapointment. Nevertheless might be good for you for summer

@TheLanciaFan, I'm curious, where are you from? Eau de Givenchy does not smell anything like the babies around me (USA). Nor does it smell much like Zwitsal which is the only other baby scent I know. I've worn the scent several times, and I find it a lovely light summery neroli and citrus with just a bit of musk. I do agree that it is more on the feminine side, but nothing pink powder or fluffy baby here.

today i finished my bottle of EdG... As everyone said: neroli, citrus, fresh, perfect for spring and summer, light, clean... You will smell like a baby (if you are argentinian as I am😊). I like it! But for my next neroli fragrance im considering bvlgari wood neroli

A refreshing unisex cologne with vintagey qualities.

Eau de Givenchy (42 USD, , ) Eau de Givenchy is a classic Eau de Cologne scent, very in vein with 4711. citrusy green is very fresh and refreshing with strong white flower scent, however all flower in this is not very sweet, true to natural also has very mild indolic property, shortly big cloud of musk start to build up. I think Bitter Almond smell make it a bit more like full body scent than traditional Eau de Colonge, mild woody property which is clean vetiver also there in the base. This is best apply before bed but I doubt will wear this outside unless it is very hot day but it is suitable in leisure setup. I am still bidding will I wear love this enough to back up few bottles more or just stick with what I have as I might barely finish this 100 ml. Bottle. But I really intrigued, the scent is very good. Score 7/10 (modernize Eau de Cologne scent) Longevity : tba Projection : Moderate (consider strong for EdC kind of scent) Classfiction : Unisex (Femme 55%, Homme 45% male user may pull off by moderate amount of musky scent)

This is like a women fragrance from the 50's but modernized. Very nice and soft- best for warm weather .

This is an extremely simple, even simplistic, neroli. Many have compared it with other bright nerolis such as 4711 or Neroli Portofino, but unfortunately Eau de Givenchy is weighed down by harsh aromachemicals that make it smell scratchy and unpleasant. I'd take 4711 over Eau de Givenchy any day.

There is nothing not to like, it's an all right cologne, better than most I dare say. Try it if you are not familiar with Eau de Givenchy original or Mythiques Eau de Givenchy and have no expectations. Otherwise, refrain, you will feel duped. Modern interpretation indeed.

This is very bitter white floral scent. A classic bitter floral. Doesn't impress me very much. It is mature somehow.Neroli note is outstanding in this. Crisp and clean but not my thing.

Oof...this does NOT agree with my skin. Rank..greeny...floral...overwhelmingly botanical...disaster. This frag is outta here...rehoming this one TO-MOR-ROW!! Bleargh...

Not very good. I made a blind buy based on reviews here, but the opening scent mostly resembles a cleaner, and the drydown is quite unremarkable.

Neroli, neroli, neroli...and „That's all i have to say about it"

I don't know what formulation I have, presumably the 2018 (pathetic) version as it smells entirely unrelated to the 1980s original. Trust me, I was a die-hard must-wear fresh, young frag-newbie in those days, I know. While I loved Cristalle (it being the go-to of my BFF), I established myself as the warmer, sunnier girl wearing Eau de Givenchy. Given that I now struggle to get past the intense urinal cake of this version, I couldnt tell you anything on it's longevity or sillage because I have to wash it off after 15 minutes. I don't hate on much in life, but this is an exception.

Blind bought at a discount on an airport and it is unwearable cleaning product like - synthetic in your face with no dry down. I can no wear it and I have a full bottle. Just so disappointing. I can't find any of the notes listed here, it is just so strong unrealistic and synthetic

I'm so delighted that this scent is back. It existed in my memory as the perfect scent for about 2 decades. Fresh, Crisp, feminine but not sweet, there are probably a good few scents that fit this description but Eau de Givenchy has something 'Interesting' in the mix. It literally piqued my interest when I was in my early 20s and I wore it constantly. I wore a lot of other scents but never forgot this one. Burberry Weekend for men has something of eau de Givenchy about it and I made my way through several bottles of that. It is cheaper. The comparison was in my memory but now that Eau de Givenchy is back, I can compare them properly so I intend to do that. I'm going to have to buy my third bottle (since its relaunch now). I still love it. It isn't strong though. I put it on and I love it, but it is so rare to smell if off myself that I don't know if anybody else around me smells it. I imagine not. I'm wearing it purely for me so. I've started spraying it in my hair to give it a bit of longevity and that has worked. I have smelt it a couple of times during the day.

Despite the fact that i had read all the comments i tought "come on...how babish could it smell...?" And then, since i was looking for a unisex scent for my wife and me and it was on sale i did what one should not suppose to do; a blind buy. (i own a lot of fragrances but i bought all of them after smelled). Already leaving the store walking to the bus stop i unpacked it, opened it and smelled it...and...well, here are my comments coming from that experience: 1) Men can wear this scent between 1 and 4 years old. That ́s it. Plain and simple. If you are older people will think you accidentally spilt it on yourself while dressing your baby. 2) Women can wear this from 1 to 30+ years old. It is a delicate fresh kinda sweet smell that will not ofense anybody. 3) Sillage is really good and longevity too. One single spray lasted 6+ hours . 4) If you don ́t get the picture i mean; Yes, it does smell like baby cologne. 5) Smell it BEFORE buying it. Don ́t do what i did. I gave it to my wife as a present. ha!

I tried it at the airport a couple of days ago and once again I sprayed too much- I can't help it; I always do that when I try a fresh scent at the airport, it makes me feel better... I found it lovely, it's almost all about citruses with a hidden sweetness and yes it is similar to many others but I don't care, if I were looking for a citrus fragrance I would get a bottle of this lovely, refreshing, easy to wear scent. It lasted for around 4 hours during which it kept me feeling kind of happily energized; then it faded. I don't really know about it's sillage but then again this is something that I would wear mostly for my pleasure :) It's going in to my want list and I think that this is something that I could share with my husband, it's really unisex. So go ahead do try it- may it makes you feel happily energized too!!!

Not a fan. I love Cologne Indelebile by Frederic Malle because of how natural it smells. Its like Mugler Cologne but more refined/classy. Neroli Portofino is nice but still not as smooth/subtle. When I heard there was a comparison to this at a cheaper cost, I thought Id enjoy but not so. Where CI is tart, fresh and musky - Givenchy is floral, fresh and green. Maybe its the high petitgrain and 'green notes' and dialed down orange blossom that dont contrast enough with the neroli that I was expecting but this is different enough to recommend not buying IF youre like me and enjoy CI or even Neroli Portofino. I dont think this is a bad fragrance by any means but for me I found it feminine, less edgy, less musky, much more floral and overall not as satisfying - even for $50.

I was superbly dissapointed when this first came out - now I love it. It is quite removed from the original, which was much more standoffish and cold, almost metallic, and with a base of almost screeching white flowers. You had to put it on well in advance to come to a universally well liked dry down because the first two hours were only really appreciated by few. today's version is much more accessible: it is still edgy, but the way true neroli and citruses are, when mixed on a bed of vetiver and petitgrain. plus there is some cedar that adds instant comfiness. If you want a little of the old bang you could layer this splendid concoction with a teensy whiff of original AnaisAnais. Should do the trick.

@AdelaideRocks, i ́m from Argentina. Over here there are a quite a few fragrances (and shops) for babies and happens that most of them smells like this Eau de Givenchy, so my nose automatically associates this perfume with that environment. However, if i don ́t consider that association (hard task), i have to say that is a nice delicate innocent fragrance for women with a good performance. And definitely not for a youngster ot teenage or grown man. By the way, i have noticed that in the Spanish review webpage everybody talks about the "baby fragrance smell" thing buy here almost no one do it. I guess it must be due to a cultural issue regarding babies clothes/accesories of each country.

Has the typical eau de cologne identity. Not much depth but quite enough development. A herbal and bitter opening, bitter as vintagey. There is neroli, petitgrain and green awesomeness on the skin. A really lovely, truly unisex, option for summer, yet usual, unfortunately. There is similarity with Neroli Portofino and 4711, without them being complete dupes, but interchangeable. The development includes notes of sheer lemon, and it seems to stabilize close to the skin. Smells natural, green and remains a skin scent. Versatile, all time appropriate, needs to be reapplied more often than your usual eau de toilette I like it but I don't think I need it

I’ve just opened this, so am in the 1st 15 minutes of spraying. Beautiful, yes. This is the first fragrance I’ve put on making that has a similarity to Versace The Dreamer. It’s by no means a copy and there is more in common with the ADP Colonia genre as stated by everyone. It could be the mandarin note as this is shared with The Dreamer. Anyway. This smells great and I’m hoping that it lasts longer than my ADP (except Essenza which is amazing), 4711 and Penhaligons (Castile) iterations. Even if it doesn’t last long, it’s a beautiful and safe blind buy!

Nothing to do with the original, saddly and disapointed. The first is a marvellous fragance totaly natural sweet and pure sea water. This reformulation is very similar to the plastics and syntetics Mercedes Benz Cologne and Dior Homme Cologne.... If I can compares it I d dare to say Eau de Cartier . Really light as the same water. I don t undertand why it is abandon... The first Givenchy gems are forgotten no explanation... Givenchy III - L Interdit - Le - And Givenchy nowadays makes only frankers and generics.

A sales assistant gave me a card of this as I walked by - and as soon as I had a whiff I liked it. It really surprised me - I've never like the perfume the assistants usually offer.... But this was really nice! I am so happy as I would have never picked Eau de Givenchy out for myself. I can't wait to try it on myself and buy it! I finally understand the reason the department stores are constantly handing out cards! I enjoy Bergamot as a note and that's what I got out of it from the sample card.
