Eaudemoiselle de Givenchy Extravagant

I blind bought a used bottle of this after I lurked it from another users profile. Absolute blind buy success! Such an excellent quality fragrance. Sexy dark goth flower garden vibes. Long lasting. Good projection. Ingredients smell quality. Has a candy floral vibe. The tuberose is present but it smells different here than it does in many other tube frags I’ve collected over the years, it isn’t the carnal flower type of tuberose nor is it Amarige. It’s a bit more “cool and wet” sultry and dark. There’s a dominant sweet vanilla with a dash of warm spice. I get nothing medicinal at all. The patchouli is very very turned down, I’d liken it to about the strength and the type of scent the patchouli has in Black Opium. It doesn’t even register to my nose as patchouli unless I really try to analyze it. I’d probably keep this in my collection forever if it weren’t discontinued. I already ordered a backup. This might be best enjoyed by fans of mysterious dark florals with slightly goth vibes. It also comes off as a little boozy. I will say I never understand reviewers who claim one spray of a tuberose perfume is “beast mode” or fills the room or is suffocating. Tuberose is my favorite because it’s so soft and delicate compared to other florals. I wear a lot of tuberose fragrances and most people don’t claim to smell them on me until they’re very close. This scent isn’t a “one spray beast” or anything to that effect. It performs as well as most other quality fragrances I own. It radiates within arms reach. I spray a bit heavier to get 6ish hours. Only a strong skin scent after that and may need to respray. Maybe if you’re highly sensitive to tuberose it may be too strong for you, but otherwise it’s a very standard “quality” performer with a lovely fragrance that isn’t actually as shocking, different, or completely unique as some of the reviews may make you believe. That said, I do love it and wearing it feels cozy, like I’m wearing my favorite sweater. A black sweater. And I’m thrilled it isn’t an “airy molecule” scent as I’m not into spending money on perfumes I can’t smell or that come off like household cleaning products. Please bring this back! And L’Ange Noir! Seriously all the best goth scents are being discontinued or reformulated so we can have 5000 different vanilla pear, citrus musk, or marshmallow scents instead (facepalm).

Exceptional jammy tuberose-vanilla patch combo that lasts for ages. Super comforting, warm and alluring. Although this is a statement perfume, it’s not a challenging one at all. Personally, it’s something I often reach for when I’m indecisive. It wears easily from day to night, but it works better during cold weather. I’m not a big fan of tuberose, but I just can’t get enough of this one.

The tuberose dominates with a vengeance for about 30 minutes then it dries down to most amazing vanilla with the other notes supporting. I love it.

Beautifully dark tuberose that turns into a spicy vanilla and worth every penny. A masterpiece indeed IMHO.
