Garçon Manqué

How come no one reviewed this masterpiece? I mean it's been weeks and I've been looking for proper YT reviews or fragrantica reviews but none so far! I actually use fragrantica a lot but I had to register just to type this review and probably stick forever since I started already. Though this collection has been out for more than 6 months now, it didn't receive the hype it somehow deserves. Garçon Manque is a leather fragrance as mentioned but the chemistry between the leather in it with the other ingredients is the cherry on the top, it is definitely not overwhelming for women to wear as the name suggests (garçon manque = tomboy) and yes there is a teeny tiny slight similarity to other known leather fragrances like Tom Ford Tuscan leather and ombre leather and even Bronze wood and leather by Jo Malone but the similarity only lies on the leather note, the fragrance is completely different and complex, idk how to describe it but it is truly addicting and not a common scent. (considering that I'm a huge gourmand aficianado and typically a vanilla note fan, this perfume is the only one that truly captivated me though it includes nothing from my fav notes) Longevity 8.5/10 easily, you spray it on clothes it might last a day (or 2+ if it's kept in a wardrobe with no airflow or other strong scents like food and incense) Sillage is moderate to great but since the smell itself is strong and unique it could be applied in a certain way to increase Sillage Also the whole concept of the possibility of laying the Accord perfume in this Givenchy collection with any of the other perfumes is quite nice but the star is Garçon Manque in my humble opinion, I liked it the most along Enflamme and Sans Merci (Accord is quite nice as well) All in all Garçon Manque is a revolution when it comes to female perfumes (well, unisex since now everyone wears whatever they want and no one can say anything about it) but this one is a leather that is wearable to even those girls who prefer their sweet and light floral scents.

Modern leather fragrance, with light fruity and floral twist, making it quite unisex, if not feminine leaning, would smell great on a woman, but as a guy, I find absolutely no issue wearing this. There is a peachy vibe to the fruit, bringing the slight tartness that makes this any season, any time wearable, except for high heat. The light floral from the osmanthus blends perfectly into the leather, smoothening out the harsh edges if any. Good performance, medium projection and sillage, with great longevity. Could easily be seen as an Ombre Leather flanker, but the leather is in between a leather factory and smooth suede. Not animalic, if that’s a concern to anyone.

This is so confusing I love it! Was not sure what it is when my friend wore it and passed by, first I thought it was fruity then suddenly it was smoky and leather then I notice its fruity, smokey and leather and thats when I fell in love with it. If you like to blind buy then blind buy this one with confidence. Though I still think its a bit overpriced.

Very similar to cuir intense de guerlain, but in a more wearable way if that makes sense. This perfume is very well blended, not overwhelming at all. Perfectly unisex . A safe blind buy for anyone who enjoys leather scents

Wasn't sure about this one at first, all I got was leather. But the notes balance out beautifully in the dry down, which lasts for hours. Happily got a full bottle.

Garçon Manqué Givenchy (Store test, skin test) Garçon Manqué by Givenchy is Sweet Floral & New way Leather scent. The way of this leather fragrance remotely reminds me of Leather in Ombre Leather (the new leather). It is assisting beautifully with floral scent (it kind of, soft rose and violet. Fruity scent lightly.) Peachy but the with fresh touch. As scent further develop the leather is more prominent but still smooth. Also, a lite powdery feel kicked in. I think of the price Garçon Manqué asked. It is beautiful leather and floral scent. Classic but Sleek and Stylish. The message I receive is fun, wild, free and slight rebel. La Particulière collection is really stylish. It could be worn by either man or woman. But due to sweet/fruity quality in this, I think this is more feminine suitable fragrance. I might buy one, but this leather is kind of.. yeah. Been there, done that kind of Osmanthus Yunan mix Ombre Leather. but this one is hyper sleek.. I like it but yeah, I think I will barely wear it. Drop from assessment.

This fragrance is more masculine than feminine for sure. There's no way it suits a feminine woman. The name itself, "Garçon manqué" in French, means a woman acting like a man, who has masculine interests and who's dressed like a man. Knowing this, no woman, except maybe the tomboys, will wear it. It's definitely a men's fragrance; I would hate this on my wife. It's close to Cuir Intense from Guerlain. Longevity is good; there's a blast of heavy leather notes on the first spray; after 20 minutes it turns closer to Tuscany Leather from Tom Ford. It's delicate leather with some white flowers and sugar notes. It's very nice overall but overpriced and awful name for a fragrance.

I just bought this today as a birthday present and honestly so far in terms of longevity I was a bit shocked as it started out a bit weak but the longer it stays on skin and clothes, the smokier it got. Which I’m kinda in into. I was honestly persuaded by the Sephora employee, as it’s quite pricey for Givenchy. I might update this when start wearing more frequently. One thing I can say for sure, this perfume will win many Arab hearts, both men and women.

Fabulous fragrance From opening to the dry down it’s a very good scent It’s not unique which is what I normally look for Although it is a must try for sure I enjoyed it Performance is good But if I had to choose I’d go with cuir intense every time I think if I hadn’t bought cuir intense before maybe I would’ve bought it Fortunately I was lucky to find guerlain first

The opening is leathery but dries down to a smooth leather/suede with a fruity apricot twist (osmanthus) , has some powdery woody facets (with a hint of smokiness). Unisex and maybe feminine leaning in my opinion, office safe.

This would be very seductive on a man. I'm socked oud is not declared. Very animalic.

This is the ultimate unisex perfume, the kind that blurs every line. It feels both butch and delicate, masculine and feminine, a true chimera of contrasts. The leather and fruity notes weave together beautifully, but there’s an undercurrent of sadness in its scent that I can’t shake. It is one of the stronger releases in the private line, though still not worth the price of admission for me. From what I’ve gathered, Garçon Manqué is built around osmanthus, smoky leather, and resin, creating a refined yet rebellious profile. It lasts well and projects moderately, making it versatile, but its sharpness and moodiness can be polarizing.

This feels inspired by the Guerlain leather and osmanthus powerhouse Cuir Intense. This is like the ghost of it. Much easier to wear of course. Interestingly 'garcon manque' means tom boy. So maybe this would make a female version of Cuir Intense.

Leather and floral, don't wear it much. Selling in the UK. Will give really good price for it way way below RRP. Message if interested.

A juxtaposition between a smoldering oud and a playful, fruity peach-like scent. Interesting concept but not sure it works well here

THE STORY: Saw the collection at an airport, loved some of it, decided to get either Trouble-Fête or Sans Artifice. However, I was surprised when I got back home to find that the SA mistakenly gave me Garçon Manqué instead. WHAT!!! I paid sooo much money for the wrong fragrance. THE FRAGRANCE: A Very Mature type of leather mixed with an old school bathroom disinfectant and a blow dried chemically treated hair. It smells as nauseating as it sounds, in an artisan type of way of course. Heady fragrance in a Headache inducing typa way. It Sadly lacks roundness and depth. And it overpowers any fragrance I mix it with. It’s been three years since I got it, and I’ve only used less than 5% of it. Will sell it to anyone who wants it. Not a safe blind buy. Test it before you buy it.

She said "red wine" but all I got was Indian Lotus flower. ------------ I can't remember which one but either this one or indompte smells exactly like an airline stewardess. In a good way. And though I'd usually be annoyed at intimate sillage, it was done very deliberately so. It was a nice nasal experience but probably more suited for someone else. Definitely intimate and seductive in a very particular way though.

Shares very similar characteristics to Hermes Galop and Guerlain Cuir Intense. This sits right in the middle. Galop comes off a tad bit feminine while Cuir Intense is animalic and hard to pull off in most situations. Love this fragrance and performance and sillage is acceptable.

Smells like a tire on my skin all way long. Similar to some ‘technical’ Comme de garçons perfumes. Pink liquid is a nice trick in my case - garcon manque transfers into tomboy working at the car repair station. In an hour I can feel leathery notes.

There’s so much leather, I want to cry. Many people enjoy these scents, but for me, they just aren’t appealing. I don’t necessarily hate or dislike leather, but this is just too animalic.
