Givenchy Harvest 2007 Organza Jasmine

Givenchy "Organza" is the 2nd perfume that my father gifted me, I believe it was for my 15th birthday, and so it occupies a most special place in my heart. Having grown up and been able to explore the world of perfumes more, I nevertheless always had an "Organza" on my dressing table, until one day I was offered a Jasmin 2007 Edition. I am a jasmine lover, so it was no surprise that the scent resonated with me and I went home with that bottle. First and foremost, Jasmin 2007 is "Organza" on steroids. It has a most powerful projection and incredible sillage. The opening is all neroli and petitgrain - strong white floral with aromatic citrus note. Apricot comes through some time later with its honey-like sweetness and velvet-like. Honeysuckle is carefully woven in, but remains delicate and subdued. Overall the top note is a most delicious and poetic opening a perfume can have. The heart is pure jasmine. And this jasmine is truly the one to behold! It is rich (but not in a creamy way), slightly heady, with a crushed petals-like nuance, dripping with apricot juice which is almost a nectar. It is not indolic or "dirty", in spite of its exuberance and potency, this jasmine stays clean and crisp. My impression is that it is a Sambac variety, due to its opulence and unmistakable signature of spicy fruits and oriental, night blooming floral accords. The moment Jasmin 2007 "Organza" touches my skin, it becomes irresistibly addictive and the world around me ceases to exist for some time. "Organza" is a perfect description for this sensation, as I feel wrapped into a translucent cloud of crisp silk in shimmering gold, as a chrysalis, certain to emerge in astonishing colours and hues. The heart note does not stay immobile, but blooms on the skin, sparkling with spices and fruit, opening up with remarkable confidence and beauty. It is simply divine. Jasmin 2007 "Organza" has a very reasonable lasting power (unlike the OG) and projects confidently for at least 5 hours on me, before beginning to mellow and melt into the skin scent. Nutmeg supports the sweet spiciness of the composition as it becomes softer and vanilla is a perfect anchor, maintaining sweetness in its delicate and powdery form. They are both a beautiful continuation and elegant finale of the fragrance, ensuring seamless and balanced transition. Jasmin 2007 "Organza" is a vision of feminine beauty, confident and alluring, with commanding presence and enchantress-like power of seduction. I treasure it as a jewel she truly is, as she can turn the gloomiest of days into glorious and all-encompassing pleasure of being.

This fragrance is quite similar to the original Organza perfume by Givenchy, but it smells different enough to the original Organza that I think one could justify owning both of them. It's a unique interpretation of Organza. Organza 2007 Harvest Jasmin is mainly about the jasmine note, as the name of this perfume would lead one to believe. It's definitely a bit more indolic than the original Organza and slightly spicier too, with less of a woody and a nutty character in it. There is also no gardenia or tuberose in this fragrance, unlike the original Organza. The apricot and neroli also adds a bit more of a slightly fruity sweetness to this and the honeysuckle note is toned down here in this flanker of Organza, but it's still very much present. You can then smell the vanilla and the nutmeg in the base, giving this perfume a very warm and cozy feeling. I find this perfume very beautiful, feminine and elegant and I think that I may like it even more than the original Organza perfume. It's even more luxe smelling than Organza and I can tell that the ingredients used in this fragrance are of the highest quality here. I think that you could wear this day or night and in all seasons except summer, where it might become a bit too sweet and sticky smelling. It feels like a sensuous trail of a sweet white floral aroma that wraps around my skin and unfurls on me like a piece of sensuous fabric. It's like the embrace of a lover, who sends chills down one's spine. When I first applied it to my skin it was a bit too strong for the first 15 minutes or so, but it really settles down after that and turns into something quite beautiful and quite extraordinary. This perfume's sillage was fairly strong on me throughout the rest of its wear but not overwhelming and it lasted just over 10 hours on my skin, just like the original Organza perfume did on me. I love the beautiful bottle it comes in with the black ribbon and etching of jasmine flowers and the beautiful black box covered in pictures of jasmine flowers too. I'm glad I own this now and bought it after getting the Mimosa Harvest perfume as well and I plan to get more of these perfumes from the discontinued Harvest line by Givenchy. I give this perfume a 10/10 because of everything I just said about it. It's absolutely stunning! Too bad Givenchy doesn't make this anymore...

Soon it is! I was at a dinner party three days ago and sprayed on A LOT. Just like I mentioned in my previous review, the jasmine does make it slightly fresher and lighter than the original. But I'm surprised to say sillage/projection is not as great as I thought! Its good, just not great. It was very strong only for the first two hours, and I did get a good reaction from one person. And I really feel like the cold temperature didn't help. I'm not an expert but this perfume might exude better in a warmer season. As for longevity, also not as great as I initially thought. Lasted about 5 hours tops. Final note: I still love it and can't wait to try it on in a different place and time. Edit: I just had a look in my wardrobe and took a sniff at my shrug I wore to the party. It smells so heavenly. Its been six days and the smell is still so strong. so yea...I kinda take back the longevity thing.

Its been three days and I'm still shaking from excitement! I can't believe my luck stumbling upon this rare beauty. It smells like organza but ten times better in a way that its more "now", thanks to the huge dose of luscious, egyptian Jasmine. Its elegant, voluptuous rich and sexy. I feel like a queen just staring at it sitting on my table -I love admiring it so I'm not gonna put it in my cabinet just yet. I feel that this is better suited for me as a young lady compared to the original because it smells a little more modern I suppose. Needless to say the quality is phenomenal, so no further comment on that. I can't wait to put it on one day, and I hope its soon!

It is absolute heaven. Spicier, soapier, fresher version of the original Organza and I got it for a steal. I wish I could own all of these Harvest editions, but for now, I own only this and Givenchy Harvest 2010 Amarige Ylang Ylang. Both are great!
