Immortelle Tribal

I more or less had to buy this at some point, as a lover of immortelles. I have had my bottle for only a day, and so far, am also underwhelmed. I do not like it as much as Atelier's Blanche Immortelle, but I suppose that's a good think as I have 14 ounces of that and only 1 3.3 oz bottle of this. It opens very fruity (too sweet for my personal taste) and there is a skanky note which I can not identify which I find somewhat offputting. My opinion may change over time, as this is the first time I have worn it, but I suspect I will be reaching for the Atelier more. (I wore it to sleep for a long time). I also have Like This (I did say I like immorteles) Those 2 are also sweet, but not like the fruity blast you get in the opening of tribal.I think it is easy to wear but do not like it as well as my other Givenchys (III and mademoiselle) though those are an entirely different vibe, or my other immortelles esp Guertlains edp du 68 (which I ration)..

I couldn't pinpoint what made it so good at first, then I realized it was the sweet sandalwood, so I naturally sprayed Serge's Santal Majuscule and bingo! Most store reps agreed that they're quite similar (not necessarily the notes, but the vibe), and most (including my friend and I) chose this over Santal Majuscule; to me it's a little more balanced with a brighter top (honeyed immortelle) and a woodier base that's less sweet compared to SM's overly creamy rose-chocolate combo. A small drawback is that Immortelle Tribal has a salty-spiciness which makes it almost foody (a step beyond gourmand) like one review mentioned.

Now I've been very nice about this line but in truth there's only really two/three of them that are truly interesting and this is one of them. This is not typical of immortelle at all, it's not as leathery but has the lightly floral, honied touches with a mixture of fresh fig and mild coconut nuances of fig leaves. For me this is a combo that works brilliantly and I don't recall smelling anything like it. For that reason I rate this perfume highly, but I haven't worn it properly or lived with it so I'm not going to commit entirely. Very impressive though from what I see as a bit of a fringe private collection scent.

It's a dry earthy fig, with green notes around, perfect interesting round accord, and well articulated development. I'm not going to share it with my man :) I usually wear woody fragrances, and this one sounds as a woody fruit to me. I believe that on some types of skin a fig can turn sweet. If so it still is reserved and wise fig, as there is good balance with sandalwood and immortele. But you really need to reserve some time to test it. ps. love it, what a beautiful fragrance, it opens in the best way in daytime in spring +17, and sound more dry in evening. Very comforting, not heavy, perfect.

Butterscotch . Capricorn caramel corn . kettle corn . Sandalwood . exotic . seductive . creamy . my favorite niche perfume I purchased so far . have to sample this 100% . But I will guarantee you you will fall in love with it . hopefully you can find it for cheaper price but do I dare say the price is worth it ?

The best one of this collection, for sure. Much more niche than the others!

I've had this for over a year, and am very underwhelmed by it. So underwhelmed it has taken me 15 months to review it. It's very nice pretty smell, but for the price it feels rather common and boring. I was expecting it to be much more niche and unique. As a lover of fig wood (Womanity and it flankers are my favorites) and sandalwood I thought I would love it. It's a light syrupy spicy floral. Other reviewers commented on the maple syrup and french toast vibe and that rings true. Light grassy floral and maple syrup. Not honey. However, it is not a gourmand sent. It lacks heaviness and depth. The dry down never evolves much from the top notes. It also has light medium sillage and doesn't last long enough for a scent so pricey. After 4 hours I can barely smell it. Save your money and go buy Etat Libre Like This! The only thing they have in common is a little immortelle. Like This is way more complex and I was compelled to write a review a year ago after getting a sample. I've gone through almost a full bottle of Like This. I seldom reach for Immortelle Tribal.

I love immortelle. I generally think of it more as a niche perfume ingredient, rather than designer, especially when it’s the dominant note in a perfume. Immortelle Tribal is a designer take on it, and it’s pretty much as expected. Soft, sweet, a little bit fruity in the top notes, with a gauzy sandalwood base. The immortelle is very present and it definitely has all the usual qualities of immortelle: the maple syrup, the hay, the tobacco, the curry, the leather; but it’s like the volume has been turned down on it. Still, I like Immortelle Tribal, it’s very easy to wear and would be a good gateway drug to someone who has yet to experience immortelle and usually wears more traditionally feminine designer frags. I agree with other commenters too that it would be useful for layering. It’s expensive though but if you can get a good deal on it it might be worth it. This lasts about 7 hours on my skin with a pretty close scent bubble unless it’s sprayed heavily. It does trail behind the wearer for several hours.

After reading the reviews of this scent, I felt confident blind buying Immortelle Tribal. I purchased Ambre Tigre and I was pleased; therefore, I assumed that the other exclusive Givenchy fragrances would be of similar quality. I was so excited to receive this new fragrance but my excitement turned into a WTF moment. The scent was described as butterscotch and caramel popcorn but my bottle smelled like a chicken dinner with a peppery, spicy and sweet sauce. Then the scent went from chicken to Worcestershire sauce with an under current of something cinnamon-like. The sillage and longevity were poor and weak. The scent was gone from my skin within thirty minutes. The bottle was authentic because I ordered from Saks. I think the extremely hot temperatures during transit spoiled my perfume.

Thought I was going to like this but this is way to feminine for me. Guys, don't pull the trigger unless you want to smell like a flower. Nicely blended though.

I tried it today and I loved it since the lady sprayed the fragrance on the paper. It is lovely and makes me stay smelling my wrist. But at the same time due to the simplicity of the fragrance can be boring to your smell sense easily without causing a headache. The fig leaves notes are very subtle. But the prominent note is sandalwood mixed with immortelle (in Mexico this flower is known as siempre-viva (literal translation "always alive". It is not the pure sandalwood note but a whole new a chord of this wood and the immortelle. I haven't smelled anything like this before, but it reminds me of some heart notes of D&G THE ONE and a lot like caramel,like caramelized popcorn notes. That is the kind of sweetness im talking about with this fragrance! Very diferent to others.I'm still thinking in buying this one. It's something like 300 dlls.

This smells nothing like "Like This" . It would smell beautiful layered with it though. When it first opens it smells very similar to Adam Levine to me, within a couple minutes it smells like pancakes and maple syrup. It's very light on me. It smells yummy. As it dries down it smells more and more like maple syrup and like another reviewer said ..kettle corn. 😊 sillage is soft and longevity is moderate lasting about 4 hours on my skin and clothing.

This is so hard to describe, but I'll try my best. Its a fruit with a deep resinous sweetness to it. I feel like it bounces off of my skin and flirts around you. I'll have to come back and update with how others react, but I suspect it will garner compliments.

Just from looking at the notes, this sounds sweet with body. My favorites - fig and sandalwood. That immortelle is supposed to be another sweet ingredient. Wondering if sillage is big like Philosykos. Gotta try!

butterscotch?? Was not super impressed by this line of "exclusive" perfumes, average perfumes packaged as if they were luxury and sold at too high of a price!

A very interesting composition. For some reason I just kept smelling French toast with syrup. It's not bad just unexpected.
