Insense Ultramarine

This is among the more Oldschool even grandold school scents. That's not a negative comment . I have to mention this is meant to smell clean first and foremost. It has a soapy clean akin to Givenchy Gentleman 1974 (minus the patchouli) when scent wasn't about sweet or overwoody but clean and well dressed. The game has changed but barbershop territory clean still has it's place. I got this scent while hunting for givenchy gentleman intense. Needless to say when it arrived it wasn't what I was looking for but still a nice clean scent. More than nice!! My main observation is that it's clean and soapy based. Its not overly florally sweet not incredible masculinely woody. It has a bit of what I would describe as medicinally clean smelling. very unisex. The florals come out a bit more on my wife . It won't change your life as a scent but it smells nice and clean and can fit in anywhere. It reminds me of the bottles of clear patchouli that my uncle used to bring us from europe. no labels or marking but great perfume he would buy in the midlle oriental countries. It's a bit old school summer vacation in the 70's to me. Fragrances like music evoke times and places for me. Like Gentleman 74 this seems antiquated and irrelevant yet still really good. A good daily driver when you need to sprinkle something on but aren't in the mood for making coices that morning. My wife wears it daily and has gone through 1 /3 of the bottle. She works with the public and wears this or Cuba gold daily. Non invasive clean sents that generally garner nice compliments. Edit: I think this can become a person's signature scent. It's unique enough to not resemble anything I have known so far. My wife wears it quite a bit and I can instantly name it. It's a thing on it's own. Second bottle was bought since wife daily drives this and my Nautica Voyage.

فضای کلی عطر : میوه ای گلی آکواتیک شیرین و خنک با حال و هوای کمی قدیمی . ✍شاید با دیدن اسم و رنگ عطر انتظار یک رایحه ی مرکباتی دریایی با تم تلخ و خنک رو داشته باشید اما اینطور نیست. رایحه تلخ و دریایی کارهایی مثل آکوا بولگاری و آکوا دی جیو رو از نظرتون دور کنید. به روایح مدرن آکواتیک یا سیتروسیِ متالیک فکر نکنید. اینجا با یه آکواتیک شیرین تر از هم رده هاش طرف هستیم که شیرینیش رو مدیون حضور گل ها و میوه هاست. از میوه ها به خوبی بوی کشمشی طور و ملس انگور سیاه رو که بین نت ها معرفی شده حس میکنم. اما از گل ها... فقط یک ترکیب لطیف و سفید گلی که گاهی بوی بعضی کرم های دست وصورت رو برام تداعی میکنه. اما اینکه یک گل خاص رو به صورت برجسته حس کنم و بخوام اسم ببرم خیر. . عطر بواسطه حس نعنایی هندوانه ای که داره خنک و به عبارتی مارین شده. احتمالا در ترکیباتش از همون ماده کالون که باهاش روایح خنک میوه هایی مثل هندوانه و خیار رو بازسازی میکنن بهره بردن. نمیخوام بگم دقیقا بوی هندونه داره یا کاملا فضای دریا و ساحل رو تداعی میکنه. رک بگم که در این کار دنبال همچین شفافیت و کیفیتی نباشید. فضای آکواتیک میوه ای و کمی شور امپریال میلیسیم کرید رو یادتونه؟ کلیت رایحه ی این کار تو همون فضاها سیر میکنه البته قاعدتا با یک سری تفاوت ها... . . شاید استشمامش شمارو به گذشته ببره و احساس کنید بوش رو قبلا زیاد شنیدید. اما به نظرم نمیتونه کار کسل کننده و زننده ای باشه. اگه دنبال یه دم دستی سیف و بی آزار برای روزهای گرم هستید هنوز هم پس از گذشت دو دهه از تولیدش انتخاب خوبیه.

I went from "What the hell is this?" to "WOW! What the hell is this!!!!!" the more I used this. Purchassed this hidden gem in 2021 for NPR. 6000 (~USD $45) only because it was available in a discounted price. For the first few days I didn't feel like putting it on because of the blue colour, and when I did put it on, the opening was so confusing. The incense-like smell was something I hadn't smelled in fragrances. Then immediately came the freshness with the green and fruity notes. I wasn't sure what I was smelling, but I wanted to give it some time to settle down on my skin. I could later smell the watermelon and cardamom notes, but that blended so well with the incense notes. One of the greatest blind buys with such an amazing performance. Fresh, sweet, clean - This is great for Summer days and Springtime, has a nice longevity to it, leaves a pleasant scent trail, and makes you standout from the rest of the people. Overall Rating: Presentation: 6/10 Scent: 8/10 Versatility: 7/10 Value for Money: 10/10 Projection: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10 Longevity: 8/10 Final Verdict: Not sure if this is still available to purchase, but by any chance you do, grab it. I would choose this over Paco Rabanne Invictus Aqua and Rasasi Hawas. It is that good.

The Givenchy classics have never ever disappointed me. And yes, Insensé Ultramarine is a classic. And like the other Givenchy classics, it's brave in its originality, pushing boundaries away. Insensé Ultramarine is floral (a rarity: a floral for men) and slightly fresh. The blend of flowers, leaves, spices and wood creates an interesting salty/sweaty effect, from which the word "Ultramarine" was probably borrowed. It's masculine at the right point, as Cassiano wrote. Not overly masculine. Okay, but is it too feminine? Nope! (though I can picture some women wearing it). I'd say it's delicate, and rare are the guys who would wear such a delicate perfume. As I wrote up above, it pushes boundaries, and that makes it both insane and brave. And very original. Now, try it before you buy. I'll give you 2 reasons for that: 1. some guys will feel weird or unconfident wearing this. Well, isn't it easier to be confident and sane on known ground? 2. it's quite a complex scent, so skin matters. On my skin: different from other aquatics, it lasts! But unlike the usual longlasting scents, it's not overpowering (I'm talking about 1 or 2 sprays only). And yet very subtle, the sillage is noticeable, elegant and comforting.

When we talk about Givenchy, it’s hard not to believe that is about another highest quality cologne, isn’t it? So, Insensé Ultramarine confirms the quality of this brand! From the beginning, I feel the aroma of shaving foam. Not that old type, which tends to green notes. Here, the smell is creamy and fresh, like the new shaving foams in the stores nowadays. But don’t worry, because this smell doesn’t remain for a long time on the skin, otherwise it would be too boring. The watermelon in its top notes is quite unnoticed by me. But the mix of blackcurrant and galbanum is more prominent. And adorable!! The evolution is linear on my skin, even though, it starts to get (rapidly) the freshness of mint notes and the mix of flowers. I think this is the best part of it! In the end, despite the tobacco notes, it doesn’t bother me at all and the smell keeps fresh and strong for hours. From its base, what detaches in an audacious manner is the cardamom. It is a scent with excellent duration, which brings both masculinity and modernity. However, it is not a “modern” smell, like the new ones in the market. It is something more traditional, yet timeless. 10 stars!

Ultramarine has been on my radar for nearly 10 years. I'm glad I never pulled the trigger 10 years ago, when my nose and "tastes" were developing. I would have shuddered and grimaced after smelling Insense Ultramarine 10 years ago. Now, with 11 years of scent testing and sampling, I can appreciate it. Insense Ultramarin opens with bursting, chlorinated freshness a lingering freshspicy accord. It does truly resemble the chlorine pool accord of Cool Water Women (or rather, CW Women resembles Ultramarine because CW came out 2 years after Ultramarine). After the opening, Lily of the Valley and Magnolia take center stage with support from Iris. It's very floral and very soapy with a fresh spicy, herbal bite. The comment about it being a luxurious hotel bathroom bar soap is spot on. Thankfully, this doesn't induce a headache for me. And sadly, there are no fruits to be found here. I'm puzzled how black currant and watermelon are listed as the dominant notes. Even tobacco raises an eyebrow for me. Absolutely unisex - genderless. It doesn't slant masculine or feminine to me. I can picture it on a man or a woman - and everything in between. ;-)

I don't smell any fruit here, was overall surprised to see the notes, would've expected something aquatic. It smells exactly like your hands after you wash them with that classic soap but with a hint of sophistication and depth to it. Clean sheets, soap, expensive detergent. Soft and fresh in an expensive way. Unisex, would work wonderfully for the clean aesthetic girlies. I can smell carnation if I look for it but otherwise I wouldn't think it's there at all, although I think it gives a bit of an edge to the scent. Vetiver is extremely inoffensive here. A safe blind buy if you like clean fresh scents. Smells like a rich guy after a shower. Mint performs here beautifully, it's like the perfume equivalent of a minty fresh subtle aftertaste, very subtle and sweet in a way minty gum is sweet. Soft cloudy fresh feeling. Similar vibe to byredo mohave ghost but more masculine and fresh. I love this a lot, it's just super well done, extremely pleasant and expensive.

This review is actually for Insense Ultramarine Ocean Cup - Limited Edition; however as Fragrantica doesn't list it I have placed my review here (sorry). According to what I could find on-line, Ocean Cup is composed of pear, lychee, watermelon, mint leaf, Marine Aquatic Accord, Bechipa, Pachuri, and Sedauddo. Although they are not listed anywhere I could find, I swear that I could detect a strong scent of both coconut and eucalyptus in this. Maybe that’s why the drydown reminded me so much of Aramis Bermuda Tonic. When first applied it does have a really fruity opening, but that is where I think the similarities with the original end. This edition misses the floral heart that makes Insense Ultramarine stand out. Instead I mainly get the coconut and eucalyptus. I really do like this fragrance but I don’t really get a lot of connection to the original Insense Ultramarine. Not that it matters as this is still a very pleasant sweet summer fragrance for men.

Insense Ultramarine is an exquisite fruity floral fragrance. I can sense a touch of the original Givenchy Insense here, mainly from the floral heart, but this one is eminently more wearable and much less feminine. Its opening is like a fresh fruit salad with watermelon & blackcurrant being the standouts for me. The middle & base notes are very floral, but the presence of the tobacco & spice notes keeps this one quite masculine and a bit dry. When it’s in drydown mode it seems to get a woody musty sort of smell which reminds me slightly of soil after it rains. I have to admit that having worn the original Insense a bit uncomfortably and reading comments here and elsewhere on-line about Ultramarine's femininity had made me a bit hesitant to purchase this. In the end I needn’t have worried. Insense Ultramarine is destined to be one of my favourite new fragrances.

You either love it or hate it. No in-between. This gem is salty, fruity, floral, a little bitter, and simply refreshing. Yes, it's synthetic, but excellent quality as Givenchy has perfected the art of blending, creating something alluring, reminiscent of a bouquet of flowers that's drifting among the southern pacific. Black currant, galbanum, and magnolia are front and center the majority of the time. There is a tinge of watermelon, but it isn't too intrusive, and the calone is heavily disguised by the florals and vetiver. This is fantastic. However, as usual, the "This Perfume Reminds Me Of" section is trivial. Azure Lime? Millismime Imperial? Not a chance. The closest thing similar to this is Bois' Verde di Mare. Like Verdi di Mare, Insense Ultramarine carries a retro vibe, and surpasses the common typical aquatics found in today's day and age.

Imagine taking the absolute best DNA from Cool Water, Polo Sport, and Millesime Imperial and combining them all in one fragrance. Basically you will get Givenchy insense Ultramarine. This stuff reminds me of Ibiza Circa 1995 and all of the beautiful nightlife and Eurodance music from the little island known as the gem of the Mediterranean. It's just a gorgeous aquatic fragrance with lots of depth to anchor it to you skin. One of very few aquatics to still contain a Tobacco note. Reformulated or not this scent still gets superb performance and I highly recommend it over reformulated Cool Water anyday. Too bad they discontinued the original Insense as that one was a masterpiece as well. Buy this one why it's still cheap. You will thank me later.

After reading what was written here, I went and tried it. It's truly a perfect scent. Indescribable, unique, and unparalleled. I bought it right away. However, what I can't understand is this: contrary to what is written here, its sillage and longevity are very low. I bought it from a good store, Sephora. Initially, I thought the issue might be with me. I tried it with a few more people, but they also experienced poor longevity and sillage. Then, thinking it might be a product issue, I tried it from other stores and brands, and the result was the same. My girlfriend can easily detect and loves it, but people from outside can't smell it unless they get very close. Does anyone know the reason?

According to the information on this website, Givenchy Insense Ultramarine was launched in 1995. That was the year when I bought this fragrance at a local department store for the first time, and I have been wearing it since then. It smells fresh, clean, strong and elegant. This is, in my opinion, one of the best offered by Givenchy. It is somewhat rare on the market nowadays and is no longer available at any department store in my country, but I still love to wear it. Like Prada Amber (Man), it stays on my skin for 8 or more hours. I vote for it as an excellent and top-class fragrance for men.

This just arrived this morning, and I have been wearing it all day. I am in absolute love with it. I feel foolish for not purchasing sooner. It starts off with beautiful florals, like a walk in a garden on a beautiful spring morning. Very slowly it transforms, I have had it on for about 6 hours now and it has arrived at the gorgeous cedar/aquatic base. Very nice projection and very happy with longevity. I completely understand those that do not like this, its not for everyone! I think most who wouldnt enjoy this prefer stronger, definitive masculine fragrances. IMO this is easily unisex.

This stuff is potent! I wouldn’t spray it too close to your face. In the air it’s fantastic but if you sniff your your wrist up close it’s very different, you got to give it room to breath. I get a posh clean indoor pool accord more than a dirty beach note. Has a watermelon rind note not a juicy fruity one, I get no sweetness from this. This is for when you simply want to smell super clean and crisp in the summer heat. Not fruity, not floral, not sweet, not seaweedy, not salty. Performance is great.

One of the best summer frags. But like kenzo pour homme you have to wait for a little bit to realize the quality of this fragrance.it is refreshing and not overpowering so it is ideal for daily use.it gives me the sense sea combined with a distinctive sweetness.it is a unique but also a safe scent.On my skin last about 7 hours and the sillage is quite noticeable. Ending Givenchy makes some nice fragrances the last 10 years but in my opinion this one and Monsieur de Givenchy remain the best.

This is an old school scent. It's not blind buy safe. It's unique and needs a certain type of person to carry it. I smell fruits with salt, tobacco, and lots of rose. I don't care much for the opening, but the dry down is what made me appreciate this fragrance. It also needs heat to shine as it'll activate its soapy character. The performance is decent, 7 to 8 hours of longevity. It smells unisex to me and it's on the affordable side. It's different and I'm enjoying it so far.

J'ai acheté une bouteille de givenchy ultramarine insensé, sur le site deloox, j'ai vraiment été déçue, je me demande même si le parfum n'est pas une contrefaçon, aucune tenue, odeur synthétique, rien à voir avec l'ancien version du parfum insensé ultramarine de givenchy, bref je vous le déconseille, la bouteille n'est même inscrite givenchy dessus !
